girlgordon24, do you know what fascism is? blindly following.
muslim does not equate to terrorist! turn off your T.V. and look at not just mainstream american media, but foreign media and independant media, and how about some education in history! that would serve you well

  • Posted By: stellarsoulartist @ 11/16/2008 5:06:32 PM

She talks about Hillary's whining, yet defended her inadequacies by claiming that the media on her was unfair!

  • Posted By: wildlifeusa @ 08/29/2008 5:34:11 PM

You, MC Cain supporters are running out of argurments. You are a waste of our time! Manipulating the weakest won't work this time. Your party is out and for a very long time!!
Obama will be our greatest president in history, like it or not!

    • Posted By: girlgordon24 @ 10/08/2008 4:05:26 PM

Obama will make you bow down to Mecca 3 times a day, deny us our freedom to wave our American flag, change our National Anthem to some hippie 70s song, and bring all of the financial supporters he's had his entire life from the middle east into our country to run it. That's right - think about it. His parents didn't have money - how did he get all that education? It isn't cheap yet he never went without? It is documented on the internet - look it up where his money came from. It's all out there but you dumb ass people don't care that terrorists helped him get where he is today - and you want a terrorist supporter as our President? Someone who his own party had to force to wear a damn flag on his lapel and face the flag during the pledge? You can't get more anti-american than Obama.

How the Hell is she going to have time to execuet the duties of VP when she's raising five young children, one of whom has special needs ?? It's Not fair to her family or the country. Per McBush's words and characterization, she's letting her political ambition obscure her judgement.

    • Posted By: PannocheMan @ 09/03/2008 6:01:18 PM

What a sexist. Men can do it but women can't? You know nothing about her life at home. Shut your trap and manage your own kids! Not fair to the country. You wanna know what's not fair?... having a man run for President who wasn't even a US citizen...Brarack Obama anyone?

      • Posted By: sleepygirl @ 09/10/2008 3:50:19 PM

Obama was born in Hawaii. McCain was born in Panama, on a military base.

At least Obama was born in the USA.

        • Posted By: girlgordon24 @ 10/08/2008 3:57:42 PM

Unless Barack can produce a long form birth certificate - (which he apparently can not or has not yet) he will not be President.

Her record regarding Big Oil and the environment, and especially her support of aerial "sport" slaughter of wolves (followed by up-close execution of wolf pups still in their dens), calls McCain's personal judgment into question. In the alternative, it suggests he is surrounded by inept advisers. Where have we seen that before?

    • Posted By: AskPlus @ 08/29/2008 6:33:46 PM

Sport slaughter? What on earth is that?

      • Posted By: AskPlus @ 08/29/2008 6:35:34 PM

Yep. Killing puppies. Here it is - one of the many pets rights URLs:

So if you had a wolf in your neighborhood, preying on your livestock and threatening the lives of your children, you would not call the local authorities to have them removed? PLEASE, you know you would - oh wait, you are a liberal who doesn't care if children are killed, but please dont hurt the little puppies. SAD

    • Posted By: wildlifeusa @ 08/29/2008 6:57:35 PM

YES, ON HER ORDERS, THEY SHOT LITTLE PUPS IN THE HEAD AFTER KILLING THE PARENTS!! WHAT A BUNCH OF HORRIBLE HUMAN BEINGS!

This is not news for Sarah Palin as V.P. Pick or McCain. They do know each other well. I know,it looks fresh and spontaneous, believe me, it's anything but. Along with her private chats with McCain, she has personally talked to Dick Cheney, Karl Rove, Newt Gingrich and the inside frame of this selection of her. But, she knows all of them well. It's the OIL' and 'woman' factor, not the intellect or governing, has more to do with Mackowski, Young and Stevens.

  • Posted By: sieg6529 @ 08/29/2008 1:32:40 PM

What kind of woman takes such a demanding job after giving birth to a special needs child only a few months ago?

    • Posted By: Esencia08 @ 08/29/2008 1:49:11 PM

Who are you to judge Palin's choices? She will be fine as long as she has adequate support from family and friends.

      • Posted By: sue000 @ 08/29/2008 1:57:44 PM

I'm sure she has someone watching the kids.

        • Posted By: sleepygirl @ 09/10/2008 4:41:47 PM

So, she is having someone else raise her children for her while she pursues her political ambitions? Sorry, but that is just messed up.

    • Posted By: loriw. @ 08/29/2008 5:04:25 PM

Would you have asked this same question if she was a man? You are obviously anti-feminist and that went out of style decades ago.
I'm sure her hasband will also be there for the children and also for her.
Her kids sure looked like they were doing just fine and she's been governor of her state while also being a mom.

  • Posted By: AskPlus @ 08/29/2008 3:40:42 PM

If Ms. Palin was a man and had her resume, experience and background, would Mr. McCain have picked her? No. Why did he pick her then? Why did she try to pull in Ms. Clinton supporters with a hollow speech? Is she not the opposite of Ms. Clinton? Didn't she say Ms. Clinton was a "whiner" in March, then compliment her to the high heavens today? Was flip-flop a job requirement? If we're talking pure scale, isn't being Gov. of Alaska less taxing than running a mid-level College?

    • Posted By: jblackwell88 @ 08/29/2008 3:46:22 PM

I figure you were a die-hard Democrat before you even posted, and no doubt this colors your opinion. This is essentially a religious argument. You wouldn't change your mind even if McCain had picked HILLARY.

      • Posted By: kle5507 @ 08/29/2008 4:30:42 PM

Hillary would never accept. She can't get over what the GOP did to Bill. Nice try. We're all not whores like the GOP.

        • Posted By: JeniS @ 08/29/2008 6:50:54 PM

What the GOP did to Bill.or did to himself? Lets not forget he WAS impeached, just not removed from office.
He blantedly lied to our faces until proven to be lying.

Earlier the day of Bill's speech he questioned Obama's ability to win, then kissed his butt on stage. What
makes you think he wasn't telling us another of his 'llok in your face lies?'

          • Posted By: sleepygirl @ 09/10/2008 4:37:41 PM

What did the GOP do to Bill?

They spent millions upon millions of taxpayer dollars to call out the president about getting a BJ from an intern.

            Bravo, republicans. Bravo.

      • Posted By: AskPlus @ 08/29/2008 3:57:46 PM

Does they think we're stupid or something? Yea, Ok. You have my vote now because you put a woman on your ticket. This is an insult to the intelligence of women everywhere. I'm infuriated! We are not pawns! Hey McCain, thanks, but no thanks.

    Sarah Bell, Cleveland, OH.

    • Posted By: RetiredMarine @ 08/29/2008 4:13:59 PM

Hopefully you are talking for yourself only. You immediately assume the reasons behind the choice is simply to get the woman's vote. As for me, to answer your question yes I think you are stupid. I also think you are just one of those people who must bitch and moan about everything. Had he not chosen a woman, you would complain. Since he did, you complain....

I don't know why he did it, neither do you. But if you wer one of the intelligent women, you would look into what she has to offer before jumping on your complaining bandwagon. I personally was taken by surprise as I figured he would have named one of the highly popular names that had been going about through the speculation process. But before I bag on the decision, I do intend to investigate what she has to bring to the table. Something any INTELLIGENT person would do.

In your case, it is better to remain quiet and be thought of as a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubts.

      • Posted By: AskPlus @ 08/29/2008 4:38:48 PM

Why else would he choose her? Of course that's the reason why. Look at all the articles, TV and mediums. Why else?

        • Posted By: Rametyn @ 08/29/2008 5:13:14 PM

If he chose her to shore up the HRC vote--it is absolutley no different than Obama picking BIden to shore up his LACK of foreign policy experience--but I guess that's okay. You Dems will argue anything to the point where you just sound ridiculous. Sorta like how Obama's camp is saying she is not experienced enough to be a heartbeat away from the Presidency--all the while she actually has more experience that OBAMA WHO IS RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT> Absolutely retarded. You have to have more experience to be VP than to be actually PRES?
          Palin--Mayor of a small town
          Obama--never a mayor of anytown
          Palin--Governor of Alaska
Obama--two years in senate--most of which was spent running for president

It's like you people are insane or something

          • Posted By: sleepygirl @ 09/10/2008 4:26:43 PM

You know what's "absolutely retarded"? The republican talking point of how she has more "executive" experience than Obama does because she was a mayor of a town of 6,000.

During her tenure as mayor, she
            1) increased government expenditures by more than 33%
            2) taxes collected by the town increased by 38%
            3) the town's debt went from $0 to $22 million.

I want her nowhere near my tax dollars.

          • Posted By: AskPlus @ 08/29/2008 6:42:47 PM

And of course that's why he picked Biden. But he did not hide that fact in his speech either. And if you're mayor of your neighborhood, or Gov of your High School, your constituency would only be a few thousand short of hers. In scale, she has done nothing but love oil.

"In your case, it is better to remain quite and be thought of as a fool" - Hey Reitred Marine - have you heard of the first amendment? This is just what you right wing a-holes preach. Don't talk. Man, you right wing idiots make me so mad - how can you be proud of what BUSH has done to this country and give them 4 more years!!!!!!! That amendment by the way gives you the right to say the garbage you have to say so respect others when they're expressing their opinion.

        • Posted By: ltnelson @ 08/29/2008 5:43:52 PM

He didn't say she didn't have the right to say what she wants to say. He just said that doing so can make you look stupid if you don't know what you are talking about.

I happen to agree that she could easily have come to this opinion knowing nothing about her. All she needs to know is she hates Bush so this woman must be an idiot.

loriw, you're an idiot who only sees black and white.

Like most Republicans, they are primitive thinkers who do not see nuance and complexity in our complex world.

It's so simple. Outlaw abortion, lower taxes, kill bad guys. That's your whole platform.

Oh yeah...give everyone a gun. Maybe a machine gun.

Primitive thinkers thanks to lack of education and closed mindeness about the rest of the world except your own.

    • Posted By: PannocheMan @ 09/03/2008 6:07:28 PM

Yeah Republicans are stupid and can't think...thats why they have ruled the presidency all but 8 years in the past 28.....liberals are sooooo stupid.

    • Posted By: Palliser @ 09/02/2008 1:52:30 PM

ragtop, you're the only idiot here. Read your own post... As if you don't see in black and white. Republicans don't see "nuance and complixtiy" in our world? Laughable! As if you libs do! You advocate partial birth or late term abortion, and don't have a clue as how to defend yourself, and no one has ever said (except you) to give everyone a gun... (talk about black and white!) However, you would take them away from everyone except the criminals. Absolutely brilliant.

And just what is it about paying lower taxes that you hate so much?

WASHINGTON-- Senator John McCain just announced his choice for running mate: Governor Sarah Palin of Alaska. To follow is a statement by Rodger Schlickeisen, president of Defenders of Wildlife Action Fund.

???Senator McCain???s choice for a running mate is beyond belief. By choosing Sarah Palin, McCain has clearly made a decision to continue the Bush legacy of destructive environmental policies.

???Sarah Palin, whose husband works for BP (formerly British Petroleum), has repeatedly put special interests first when it comes to the environment. In her scant two years as governor, she has lobbied aggressively to open up the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge to drilling, pushed for more drilling off of Alaska???s coasts, and put special interests above science. Ms. Palin has made it clear through her actions that she is unwilling to do even as much as the Bush administration to address the impacts of global warming. Her most recent effort has been to sue the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to remove the polar bear from the endangered species list, putting Big Oil before sound science. As unbelievable as this may sound, this actually puts her to the right of the Bush administration.

???This is Senator McCain???s first significant choice in building his executive team and it???s a bad one. It has to raise serious doubts in the minds of voters about John McCain???s commitment to conservation, to addressing the impacts of global warming and to ensuring our country ends its dependency on oil.???

    • Posted By: PannocheMan @ 09/03/2008 6:03:27 PM

OMG!!!!! Save the ploar bears....if if gas goes to $6 a gallon...what a bunch of liberal MORONS.

Go to Europe where gas is $8 a gallon ....do us all a favor...take all the Hollywood left with you.

I find it so unbelievaby offensive that this is McCain's pick. He would never have selected this woman had she not been a woman. There is no other reason to select her. She was a city council member and mayor of a town of 6000??? Are you kidding? I searched long and hard to find a town in Maryland with that population and that small but couldn't. Little Havre de Grace had 3 times the population. My high school was half the size of Wasilla - so let's elect my student gov't leader. Was there not another Republican woman that was more qualified? Come on. This is who he thinks is the next best person to be President should his old @ss kick it? Down right offensive to women. And to little girls. Show them someone actually qualified. Not some former beauty queen who went not to Harvard not to UVA, not to Penn, but to Univ. of Idaho with a BA, not a JD or MBA or PhD or even lame MA. Astonishing, especially after all the crap about Obama's alleged lack of experience. This woman probably has less foreign relations knowledge and experience than me. Already she said "nucular" weapons and has stated she doesn't know much about the Iraq war or what the heck a VP even does. Maybe he should've have chosen my sister, she's a mom of 6!

    • Posted By: PannocheMan @ 09/03/2008 5:56:11 PM

How can the pick be offensive? You were not gonna vote for McCain anyway. Who gives a damn what u think. LOL. BTW Obama has ZERO executive experience. Palin is more qualified than that dumbazz. And for pete's sake she has the VP slot not the PRESIDENT slot...you liberals are three bricks shy of a full load. Compare McCain to Obama not Palin...either way Obama loses.

  • Posted By: valadezaj @ 08/29/2008 4:52:56 PM

With this Obama's fate is sealed! Now HRC supporters can vote McCain with a good conscience. Good bye Obama! Have fun listening to goddamn america back in Chicago. I'm sure they'll let you up on stage to say a few "goddamn americas" yourself.

    • Posted By: ElGuapo @ 08/29/2008 5:20:03 PM

How sad that despite several hours and I mean several hours of coverage of the Rev Wright controversy and the proof that Barack Obama does not support this type of rhetoric that you would still be clinging to this discredited story. I guess you haven't figured it out yet but it is patently un-american and un-patriotic to be so clearly bigoted. One other thought, don't you think its pretty demeaning to women to just pull any woman out of the hat and think that women will vote for you out of a knee jerk reaction. What is shown here is the difference between the two candidates, one is a politician and one is a statesman. A politician (John McCain) only worries about the next election and that is reflected in his choice for VP (owing her families daily bread to Big Oil and BP) while pandering to right wing evangelicals and dissaffected women voters or a statesman (Barack Obama) choosing a seasoned veteran with working class roots that he never forgot; whose campaign themes are generational answers to our problems. Thankfully, the rest of us will be enough to overcome and yes even join with those like you to solve our problems even if its just to minimize the negative impact on our society by you and people like you.

      • Posted By: valadezaj @ 08/29/2008 5:30:20 PM

What do you mean that there's no proof supported the rhetoric. Twenty years - I repeat 20 years of going to that church. And let's not forget HE BROUGHT HIS DAUGHTERS! He brought them to be brainwashed by a raving bigoted lunatic. I don't care about any of the other issues - this alone has damned Obama in my eyes for good.

  • Posted By: GregHere @ 08/29/2008 7:32:46 PM

.............................McCain appears to be in his Maverick Mode in picking Sarah Palin to be his V.P. Running Mate. Old John does not have to be very responsible for any long term outcome of his perplexing ideas at 72. He is rich and has little to loose when things go wrong.....he could be more accurately described as a Loose Cannon.....If he screws up with anything he does not really need to return for further future elections. Ms. Palin is a tool to satisfy the NeoConservative, Fundamentalists who helped Bush stay in office for the eight years and who want McCain to keep themselves in power for more time.
