According to a news report, a certain private school in Washington was recently faced with a unique problem. A number of 12-year-old girls were beginning to use lipstick and would put it on in the bathroom. That was fine, but after they put on their lipstick, they would press their lips to the mirror leaving dozens of little lip prints. Every night the maintenance man would remove them, and the next day the girls would put them back. Finally the principal decided that something had to be done. She called all the girls to the bathroom and met them there with the maintenance man. She explained that all these lip prints were causing a major problem for the custodian who had to clean the mirrors every night (you can just imagine the yawns from the little princesses). To demonstrate how difficult it had been to clean the mirrors, she asked the maintenance man to show the girls how much effort was required. He took out a long-handled squeegee, dipped it in the toilet, and cleaned the mirror with it. Since then, there have been no lip prints on the mirror. There are teachers ... and then there are educators . .

This is insulting to any thinking woman. She is no substitute for Hillary Clinton. He looks like a foolish old man. He has had cancer 4 times and is 72 years old. She will potentially be a heartbeat away from the Presidency. I used to have respect for John McCain, but he has lost it.He has only met Governor Palin twice and he chose her? This is the dumbest move McCain has made yet. Totally defeating his own foreign experience, Commander in Chief argument against Obama. What a soccer mom with less than two years experience in state government in a state with less than 800,000 people no less?

On top of that it is just ANOTHER MCCAIN LIE. Why? Because the only reason he picked her for VP was to try to dupe more women and get their votes to GET THE POWER OF THE WHITE HOUSE.

John McCain and his advisors could care less about whether she is VP qualified or not. All John McCain cares about is himself and the Oval Office. And it is strikingly clear that with this pick, he is willing to sell his own soul and sell out the American people to get it.

I am insulted by Governor Palin as a running mate. She is as qualified for the position as Harriet Miers was for the Supreme Court. That woman knows NOTHING about foreign affairs. The notion that a 72 year old man with a history of cancer would put her one heartbeat away from the presidency is terrifying. It is blatantly obvious that McCain wanted a woman only in an attempt to lure Hillary voters.

But I have news for him, for Governor Palin, and for the media-- in America we believe in a meritocracy. And that means putting qualified people in office NOT cronyism like Bush and NOT sucking up to identity divisions like McCain. The implication that a woman will ignore qualifications and vote for a woman merely because she was born with 2 X chromosomes is an insult to our intelligence and woman???s suffrage. The job requires more and we deserve better.
