    FactCheck better fact check itself.

    When they said:

"Obama said he could "pay for every dime" of his spending and tax cut proposals "closing corporate loopholes and tax havens." THAT IS NOT AN ACCURATE STATEMENT

He said "closing corporate loopholes and tax havens" was PART OF WHAT WOULD HE WOULD USE TO PAY FOR IT.

That is much different than FactCheck portrays. He also will use savings from ending the Iraq war and repealing the Bush tax cuts for the wealthy. I am surprised FactCheck left that out because this has been said many times over the past months.

The problem with taxing corporations is that although the bean counters who score these things consider the tax to be applied to the owners of capital (stockholders) the reality is that the corporations will just pass the increased expenses on to their customers. This increases inflation and at the same time reduces the amount of goods and services that people can afford to buy which slows the economy. During this time of stagflation that is exactly the wrong policy to apply, and risks completely breaking an economy that is already shaky.

Ok, I'm confused now. Do YOU know what the difference is between median and mean because you say Obama didn't mean average (the mean) he meant median when said peoples income had gone down and then you say the median has actually increased. If the median has increased but the mean has decreased and he said average then he was right to begin with. If the MEAN has increased then you don't know what your talking about.. At the very least some clarification is in order on your part

I am assuming that we can expect a similar critique of McCain's plans after the Republican convention. You can't expect to get all the debits and credits enumerated in a speech so this isn't surprising, but I would like to see how well the candidates compare in presenting their own "sales pitch." The right are masters at saying black is white and selling it---in the past I would have expected better from McCain. This year, well we'll see.

Hey thanks for the heads up. I don't have the time to delve into all that is said on either side, but your reporting helps to keep the political playing field more level. Appreciate the effort.

true i would've prefered to see a more honest range of projections since i doubt anyone has enough knowledge to know the exact dollars and cents of his proposals. its still years ahead of mr. mccains economic policies that read as if they we're written by a 9th grader. there is hardly any number figures whatso ever. its almost as if mccain doesnt employ any economist. itd rather see fudged figures than no figures at all. as for mr.mccains projections that he can balance the budget by 2013 it is an outright lie

Gee. Don't tell me that Mr. Wonderful stretched the facts.
