yo jonjon...got you now. this article wasn't just updated because of the buchanan bit. I happen to have your original article in all it's misogynistic glory and will share with you my review. you really have no integrity at all. it's so sad to see a supposed journalist and author come unraveled because of his mancrush. what will you do if/when barry loses? well i guess you can go back to hating on Hillary. why not the attacks on Cindy McCain? because she'll sue you as off? you provide endless examples of misogyny that is being used in our journalism classes. keep up the good work!!

    • Posted By: jon-jon alter @ 09/02/2008 2:38:37 PM

Let's use your original hat trick analogy in your ORIGINAL article:

1st (and Primary) goal: McCain got the MSM to stop weeping in ecstasy over barrys whiplash speech. L-R-L-R pecking pigeon and couldn't look directly into the camera until "this has never been about me". Then why the need to say it?

2 First thing Barry says after his boffo (as in boisterously funny) speech is condescending to women. It took away all 17 words of "lavish praise" for Sen Clinton.

3 You wrote another classic pinky finger gyne envy sexist diatribe on women and never once mentioned "Hillary's' name. So you can't say its just because of THAT woman. Your beauty queen and sports metaphors are ridiculously transparent. Why don't you come out and say women are unhinged PMS morons designed for childbearing and to look pretty. Powerful women sure do scare you, don't they? Why exactly?

4 Your own VILE unedited words--more vile than even i expected:

"BUT MANY VOTERS WILL NONETHELESS WONDER WHETHER PALIN SHOULD UNDERTAKE THE RIGORS OF THE VICE PRESIDENCY (AND PERHAPS THE PRESIDENCY) WHILE CARING FOR A DISABLED INFANT."

You are beyond ignorant. I'll descend to your caveman level: Newsweek readers think jonjon sucks because hes humpbacked and almost bald. Do you see how disgusting that is? And youre discussing a child with Downs Syndrome. GOVERNOR Palin is a mother and guardian of a special soul. Not a DISABLED INFANT.

5 Scored after barry changed his remarks when he realized what he did. You can give an assist to Sen Clinton if you like when she stated loud and clear: "We should all be proud of Governor Sarah Palin's historic nomination". In other words, the liberal party out of spite and insecurity completely dissed the most qualified politician on the planet. Someone unmistakably more experienced than barry. Race trumps gender once again.

6 Scored by Hail Sarah herself. "But it turns out the women of America aren't finished yet, and we can shatter that glass ceiling once and for all." Even the men in the audience couldnt stop laughing.

7 She rocked first time out and is going to blow away Biden. Pitch perfect speech...but a man wrote it. You really are pathetic. What made you hide behind your first column? And what made you think you could get away with it?

8 The entire MSMs ongoing sexist/misogynistic behavior will prove it's not just because it's THAT woman. Already off and running. Crawl: She's been featured in Vogue.

9 Once again you have proven your undying love for the messiah providing a window into your empty soul.

Thats 3 octopuses (I'm sure youd prefer octopussies). Not bad for a rookie, eh? Especially one who'll be in your own words: "HISTORY'S HOCKEY MOM"

Congratulations jonjon!! Another classic misogynistic pro barry propaganda blog...only this time you got caught in your own deceit. You had to alter your words and hide behind "update". FYI: Big Sister is always watching!

      • Posted By: ludicrous @ 09/02/2008 9:38:02 PM

This is hysterical. Why did he think he could get away with changing articles? And then he uses that lame excuse. They have used the excuse that they're not sexist or misogynistic because it's THAT women. Well it's pretty obvious it's not just her. Did you see wolffe's article where he brings up the Clinton impeachment? There's nothing they won't do to get Obama elected. And with all their help he couldn't beat Sen Clinton after winning 11 in a row and outspending as much as 5:1. He needed to be coronated. And that doesn't include all the free advertising they gave him. Should CNN be advertising on his official website? Loved the octopus reference!

Sarah Palin Supports an Organization and was a Member of an Alaskan Seccessionist group, that wants to Sever TIES with American and Alaska be it's own Sovereign Nation. She's Seen in the Video Congratulating the Organization and on it's Objectives, as well as Supporting them !!!

Those Alaskans Actually think that because we are Preoccupied with other In State issues, that they are their own !!

Sarah Palin is a Danger, she's Alaska 1st as Joe Lieberman is Jeruselem 1st and America 2nd !!
    -------------------------

Sarah Palin addressing Alaska Independence Party convention

The words of founder Joe Vogler are proudly displayed on the Alaska Independence Party's website (at least as of this writing): "I'm an Alaskan, not an American. I've got no use for America and her damned institutions."

Given that one of America's "damned institutions" is the Department of Defense, this raises a few questions about Gov. Palin's strength on national security issues.

In covering Sarah Palin's reported membership in this extremist party (see update), Jake Tapper quotes its current leader as saying that Sarah Palin is "a fine individual. She's forthright and she puts Alaska first."

She puts Alaska first. There's an endorsement to remember. And in case we think her past association in this party was just some youthful indiscretion, she addressed them by video hookup earlier this year. In the video shown above Palin says she is "delighted" to be addressing the group, that the party "plays an important role," and wishes them "good luck on a successful and inspiring convention."

The Alaska Independence Party wants to open all Federal lands (like state parks) to private ownership - presumably by the people who live nearby. It also wants to abolish all property taxes. It has a few other pretty extreme views, too.

The argument is "What if John McCain was elected President and died during his administration who would you rather have in the White House".

An African-American Kansan-Kenyan with ties to Muslims in Kenya and Jakarta, Indonesia or a woman whose genealogy includes several ancestors who came over on the Mayflower?

A man who follows the teachings of the radical African American Jeremiah Wright for twenty years and only separated himself for political expediency, or a woman who did not follow the teachings of a raving racists, but followed the tenets of the Bible all her life and who still acts on those principles in her personal and political life?

A man who admitted to using marijuana and cocaine (thinking that being honest about it makes using these illegal drugs alright) or, a woman whose 17 year old daughter is pregnant.

A man who has never been a Commander-in-Chief of even one soldier, or a woman who is Commander-in-Chief of the entire Alaskan Military including the very important 49th Missile Defense Battalion?

A man who has never stood head to head against a corporate entity, or a person who stood firm, not against one giant corporation, but three mega-oil companies - Mobile-Exxon, Conoco, and BP??? and won?

A man who has simply put forth amendments and sat and voted (or decided not to commit himself either way on 129 separate issues by simply voting "Present"), or a person who commits herself wholeheartedly to every piece of legislation put before her?

A man who is a product of the corrupt Chicago political establishment and who has flip-flopped on almost every issue, or a woman who has stood firm against the powerful good-old-boys political regime in Alaska in favor of Alaskan residents?

Would you rather have Flip-Flop Obama or Stand Firm Palin?

While I agree that family is off limits in a campaign. I think that in addition to the lack of experience and possible abuse of power, and the hypocritical behaviors (doesn't support earmarks, but requests earmarks for her own town), the judgment of Palin does need to be discussed. The McCain campaign wants to taut that Palin is a "good mother." A good mother does not focus more of her attention on her political career instead of the needs of her child with a disability. A good mother does not put her children under the stress of media attention when there are such private family issues as teen pregnancy and unwed motherhood. I believe Palin demonstrates extremely poor judgment.

This is an excerpt from a talk show that Ms. Palin was on in Alaska.

Palin Laughs As Opponent Is Called "Bitch," "Cancer," Mocked For Her Weight (AUDIO)

Early on in the conversation before Palin started to crack up, Lester referred to Sen. Green as a jealous woman and a cancer. Palin, who knows full well Lyda Green is a cancer survivor, didn't do what any decent person would do, say, "Bob, that's going too far."
But as the conversation moved on, Lester intensified his attack on Green.

Lester questioned Green's motherhood, asking Palin if the senator cares about her own kids. Palin laughs.

Then Lester clearly sets the stage for what he is about to say by warning his large audience and Palin. He says, "Governor you can't say this but I will, Lyda Green is a cancer and a b----." Palin laughs for the second time.

What were teenage boys thinking when they heard the governor laugh at someone being called a b----? How about the teenage girls who look up to Palin. What did they think when they heard her laugh?

But there is more. Lester then describes Green's chair as big and cushy. A clear reference to the senator's weight. Palin laughs a third time. She's just having a grand old time.

Palin was clearly enjoying every second of Lester's vicious attack on her political rival.

John McCain wanted the fem-dom Hillary crew and the independents, which no one could deliver. So this is a last ditch effort to bring an ex-beauty queen to possibly occupy the highest seat in the land? Who's next Mary Poppins? This is only the beginning of the mess John McCain will dispense on this country. I am sure he had no idea this would be the response, and he is too embarassed to recant. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/09/02/mccain-fought-teen-pregna_n_123132.html

WASHINGTON ??? Republican John McCain, whose running mate disclosed that her unmarried 17-year-old daughter is pregnant, has opposed proposals to spend federal money on teen-pregnancy prevention programs and voted to require poor teen mothers to stay in school or lose their benefits.

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin's announcement Monday about her daughter Bristol was aimed at rebutting Internet rumors that Palin's youngest son, born in April, was actually her daughter's. Palin said her daughter intends to raise her child and marry the baby's father, identified in news reports as Levi Johnston, 18, of Wasilla, a high school hockey player whom Bristol has dated for about one year. The baby is due in late December.

McCain's record on issues surrounding teen pregnancy and contraceptives during his more than two decades in the Senate indicates that he and Palin have similar views. Until Monday, when the subject surfaced in a deeply personal manner, teen pregnancy and sex education were not issues in the national political campaign.

Palin herself said she opposes funding sexual-education programs in Alaska.

"The explicit sex-ed programs will not find my support," she wrote in a 2006 questionnaire distributed among gubernatorial candidates.

McCain's position on contraceptives and teen pregnancy issues has been difficult to judge on the campaign trail, as he appears uncomfortable discussing such topics. Reporters asked the presumptive GOP presidential nominee in November 2007 whether he supported grants for sex education in the United States, whether such programs should include directions for using contraceptives and whether he supports President Bush's policy of promoting abstinence.

"Ahhh, I think I support the president's policy," McCain said.

When reporters pressed McCain whether the government should provide contraceptives or counseling on contraceptives, he replied, "You've stumped me." McCain said later that he was sure he opposed government spending on contraceptives.

      • Posted By: Zig Zag @ 09/02/2008 2:26:28 PM

No one is talking about a 17 year old. What we are talking about is the irony that a woman who believes abstinence-before-marriage is the only method of birth control that should be taught in schools has a pregnant, unwed, daughter.

Personally, I love irony. Study after study has shown that abstinence only sex-education has no impact on teenage pregnancies. Yet self-righteous conservatives like Palin continue to delusionally spout the virtues of abstinence-only sex education - and they want to force that delusional belief on the rest of us.

If Palin had supported abstinence in addition to other birth control education or had even take the position that she believes in abstinence-only education for her family, but left it up to other parents to decide what was best for their children, then this would not be an issue.

But she didn't. She wanted to impose her own mis-guided beliefs on the rest of us and now we are all smiling at the irony of her current situation.

We have no ill will towards her or her daughter, nor are we condeming her daughter for getting pregnant. We wish them nothing but the best.

But you can't expect to cloak yourself in the mantle of rightousness and not expect people to snicker a little when it falls off to reveal nothing underneath.

          Perfectly clear.

"now we are all smiling at the irony of her current situation."

          and yet you say"

"We have no ill will towards her or her daughter, nor are we condeming (sic) her daughter for getting pregnant. We wish them nothing but the best."

That is so ridiculously two-faced it would be funny of it wasn't about her daughter. You speak of the mother - you speak of the daughter - period. Face the truth. Your "justification" here ruined your own argument.

Are you mentally disabled? I am sorry you do not understand the nuances of my point, but then again, I would not expect a right wing, femi-nazi like yourself to understand.

But I'll try one more time - just because I am a nice guy. If you are going to hold yourself out there as being better than everyone else, if you are so confident in your beliefs that you are going to force them down everyone else's throats, then you better make sure your own house is in order.

And in this case, it wasn't.

I hope Bristol Palin has a healthy child and a happy life. For that matter, I hope the same thing for the entire Palin family.

But if Sarah Palin ever tries to push that crap about abstinence-before-marriage down my throat, I am going to hold up a mirror and ask her how well it worked for her family.

I don't have the direct quote but it was along the lines that he was sure it would be discussed on Oprah and other such shows. Did I get close, jonjon?

And he capped off his blog with Palin will be: "HISTORY'S HOCKEY MOM"

Everyone is so politically correct these days. I think it is a valid point. What's wrong with saying what is certianly on some people's minds?

The same thing happened when one of McCain's advisors made the comment that if there was another terrorist attack in the U.S., it would help McCain's campaign. Everyone was outraged, but it was absolutely true.

"Everyone is so politically correct these days. I think it is a valid point. What's wrong with saying what is certianly (sic)on some people's minds?"

If you need to be told - as it seems you do - the difference is saying it privately as a means of discussion vs using it to defend why your above the fray candidate is a better candidate in a public never to be erased forum. And "everyone is so politically correct these days"? It's called morality, personal responsibility and respect.

Don't be such an idiot. It is a very rational observation.

        ZIGZAG

You are such a beast. Comparing an offhanded generic comment about terrorism to your foul comments about a teenage child?

And your a moron - you should spend more time reading the comments than cutting and pasting other peoples comments. I never once said anything bad about a 17 year old girl.

Her mom on the other hand, is a hyprocrit - something I am sure you have in common with her.

pennydcb you are ignorant.............it is a great choice. You would rather have a Muslim? Wise up! Read your bible. These are scarry times. We need to be very careful who we turn our country over to. Also, Republicans don't need people like you. You'll make a good Democrat. I use to be one until the Clinton's came in and I wised up. I'm embarrased your a Republican too.

How can you call someone ignorant when you are one. Barack Obama is not a Muslim, nor is being a muslim criteria for being a terrorist. Was the Oklahoma City bomer a muslim...NO, was the Unibomber a muslim.....NO. This country was founded on religious freedom, most muslims do not believe in violence, so i don't care if it's the Torah, Bible, Koran as long as you have this country's best interest at heart it shouldn't matter. Nor should it matter if you're republican or a democrat. No one has a problem with McCain picking a woman, they have a problem with the one he chose when there are far more qualified women available (i.e. Kay Hutchinson). McCain shot himself in the foot when he decided to pick someone with no opinions or knowledge on national issues such as Iraq and Afghanistan. How can you critize someone for no experience and then pick someone with no experience or knowledge of what she was chosen to do, be VP hence taking away some of the bite in his own arguement.

Are you an idiot! Barack Obama is not a muslim, nor does being a muslim equate to being a terrorist. There is nothing wrong with picking a woman, but when there were more qualified women to choose from he picks one with no worldly knowledge. McCain shot himself in the foot because he spent all his time saying Obama isn't ready to lead, all the while picking someone who isn't ready to step in should McCain not be able to handle the reigns. People stop being so judgemental and look at the substance of the comments. Nobody is saying something is wrong with a woman, they are saying something is wrong with this one.
