Sarah Palin: Was a member of an Alaskan Seperatist Organization, that wanted to Seccede the State of Alaska from the United States Of America and You Low Lifes want her Neophyte A!! as Your President !!!

Members of 'Fringe' Alaskan Independence Party Say Palin Was a Member in 90s

    September 01, 2008 6:52 PM

The campaign of Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., likes to herald the independence of its new running mate, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin.

NOTE: Officials of the Alaskan Independence Party say that Palin was once so independent, she was once a member of their party, which, since the 1970s, has been pushing for a legal vote for Alaskans to decide whether or not residents of the 49th state can secede from the United States.

And while McCain's motto -- as seen in a new TV ad -- is "Country First," the AIP's motto is the exact opposite -- "Alaska First -- Alaska Always."

Lynette Clark, the chairman of the AIP, tells ABC News that Palin and her husband Todd were members in 1994, even attending the 1994 statewide convention in Wasilla. Clark was AIP secretary at the time.

"We are a state's rights party," says Clark, a self-employed goldminer. The AIP has "a plank that challenges the legality of the Alaskan statehood vote as illegal and in violation of United Nations charter and international law."

She says it's not accurate to describe the party as secessionist -- they just want a vote, she says, adding that the members of the AIP hold different opinions on what Alaska should be.

"My own separate opinion as an individual is that we should be an independent nation," Clark says. Others in the AIP "believe that being a commonwealth would be a good avenue to follow." Some advocate statehood -- but a fuller statehood than exists now.

She doesn't know what Palin's position was.

"It never came up in conversation," Clark recalls. "But when she joined the party, our platform was right under her nose."

Clark says that Palin left the party and became a Republican in 1996, when she first ran for mayor of Wasilla.

The McCain-Palin campaign did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The AIP platform states that the purpose of the party is to "seek the complete repatriation of the public lands, held by the federal government, to the state and people of Alaska in conformance with Article 1, Section 8, Clause 17, of the federal constitution ...

To prohibit all bureaucratic regulations and judicial rulings purporting to have the effect of law, except that which shall be approved by the elected legislature ...

To support the privatization of government services ...???

Walter Hickel, a former Republican governor, was elected to the governorship in 1990 as an AIP member -- the third-largest party in Alaska -- with a plurality vote of 38.8%.

Sounds like Ms. Palin should be a candidate for the "Presidency" of Alaska instead. This proves that truth is stranger than fiction, you just can't make this stuff up, its crazier than a mad hare.

Wrong, wrong, you got me jacked up in the head if I see youse vote for this nut job. McCain is an embarrassment to what America is supposed to stand for. His VP choice is a pork barrell eatin, revenge on a cold dish seekin, cold blooded caribou shooting (notice GOP like people that like to shoot guns), no experience having, lack of judgment nobody. Give me a break. Richard Simmons has more creds then Palin.

The Republican response to Gov. Palin is an indication that the party is very narrow in its focus. There are greater issues America has to face beside the pro-life and anti-gay-issue. Folks, is is the economy, energy, health, education, Russia flexing its muscles, European unity and the rising economy power of India and China. A party that is so myopic in its focus is not the party to lead durlng these critical times.

    110th Congress

All of the Republican-Conservative talk Radio Jack Asses always say, what has Obama Done and that he's NEVER Done Any Bi-Partisan, Cross The Aisle Legislation, knowing Full well, that he in fact has !!!

In the first month of the newly Democratic-controlled 110th Congress, Obama worked with Russ Feingold (D???WI) to eliminate gifts of travel on corporate jets by lobbyists to members of Congress and require disclosure of bundled campaign contributions under the "Honest Leadership and Open Government Act," which was signed into law in September 2007.

He joined Chuck Schumer (D-NY) in sponsoring S. 453, a bill to criminalize deceptive practices in federal elections, including fraudulent flyers and automated phone calls, as witnessed in the 2006 midterm elections.

Obama's energy initiatives scored pluses and minuses with environmentalists, who welcomed his sponsorship with John McCain (R-AZ) of a climate change bill to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by two-thirds by 2050, but were skeptical of his support for a bill promoting liquefied coal production.Obama also introduced the "Iraq War De-Escalation Act of 2007," a bill to cap troop levels in Iraq, begin phased redeployment, and remove all combat brigades from Iraq before April 2008.

Later in 2007, Obama sponsored with Kit Bond (R-MO) an amendment to the 2008 Defense Authorization Act adding safeguards for personality disorder military discharges, and calling for a review by the Government Accountability Office following reports that the procedure had been used inappropriately to reduce government costs.

He sponsored the "Iran Sanctions Enabling Act" supporting divestment of state pension funds from Iran's oil and gas industry, and joined Chuck Hagel (R-NE) in introducing legislation to reduce risks of nuclear terrorism.

A provision from the Obama-Hagel bill was passed by Congress in December 2007 as an amendment to the State-Foreign Operations appropriations bill.Obama also sponsored a Senate amendment to the State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP) to provide one year of job protection for family members caring for soldiers with combat-related injuries.

After passing both houses of Congress with bipartisan majorities, SCHIP was vetoed by President Bush in early October 2007, a move Obama said "shows a callousness of priorities that is offensive to the ideals we hold as Americans."

Given the lower IQ and lack of education associated with the majority of GOP voters, the selection of Palin will do little to dissuade them from "staying the course". However, for this independent voter and many others this choice really gives us pause for thought. Think about it, just 20 months ago this person was the Mayor of Wasilla City, pop. 5,500 (and maybe some bears and caribou thrown in for good measure). I can think of a few municipalities in the US that can provide a greater degree of executive-level experience than that offered by Wasilla City (from Austin to Tallahassee). She is also extremely conservative, even on issues of concern to women such as the right to choose, birth control and gender equity on equal pay between men and women for performing the same jobs. In short, she is no Hillary. Do I want the Mayor of Wasilla City a heartbeat away from being my next President if the old guy (he turns 73 next August) keels over? Any voter, man or woman, would be pretty crazy to vote for such a ticket given the risks involved and it says a great deal about McCain's lack of good judgment on making important decisions.

PALIN WILL WITHDRAW HER NOMINATION, IF NOT AT THE CONVENTION, SHE WILL BEFORE THE COUNTDOWN TO THE ELECTION IN NOVEMBER.

A VERY RASH & POOR JUDGEMENT INDEED ON JOHN MCCAIN'S PART

SEVERAL REPUBLICANS ARE NOT ATTENDING THIS RNP CONVENTION AND THAT WAS BEFORE ...THE HURRICANE THREAT.

REV. DOBSON AND OTHER SO CALLED "CHRISTIANS" PRAYED FOR RAIN ON OBAMA'S ACCEPTENCE SPEECH, THAT THE dnC WOULD BE IN DISSARRAY, THEY PRAYED FOR DISCORD, DEVISIVENESS AND DISSENTION ON THE FLOOR...

    IT NEVER HAPPENED...

NOW LOOK AT THE RNP CONVENTION, THE VERY THING THAT THESE "CHRISTIANS" PRAYED FOR ARE HAPPENING TO THEM, INSTEAD !!

EVIL BEHAVIOR AND EVIL PRAYERS GO UN-ANSWERED AND THE EVIL ARE IN FACT PUNISHED..POETIC

Governor Palin is doing a great job of uniting the Republican party, energizing conservatives who Mccain could not ( being a maverik who only excites the middle and moderates and news media.)
It is GOOD theater to have Obama shouting down from atop a blue mountain after picking a liberal far-left extremo (Biden) like himself... which only excites extremist liberals and left wingers. An extremely Limited Market, from a poor choice! But great theater!
Up on the mountain Obama meant "DON"T ask me my middle name, or about Bill Aires or why I did not visit wounded American military people!!" No matter what the words were in his parabolic speaking style.
Obama, like Biden, embrace the Americans Suck First campaign of Bill Clinton. They are in American, but not with us!

    109th Congress

Barack has "State, National & International Experience"

Barack Obama took an active role in the Senate's drive for improved border security and immigration reform. In 2005, he cosponsored the "Secure America and Orderly Immigration Act" introduced by Sen. John McCain (R-AZ). He later added three amendments to the "Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act", which passed the Senate in May 2006, but failed to gain majority support in the U.S. House of Representatives.[24] In September 2006, Obama supported a related bill, the Secure Fence Act, authorizing construction of fencing and other security improvements along the United States???Mexico border. President Bush signed the Secure Fence Act into law in October 2006, calling it "an important step toward immigration reform."

Senate bill sponsors Tom Coburn (R-OK) and Obama discuss the Coburn-Obama Transparency Act.

As to the Palin nomination, it doesn't take long to go a couple of layers into the thin skinned Repub's , and there as usual you will find Corruption, Sex Scandals, Ties to Stevens and Abramoff and Dictatorial schemes as Troopergate, and Bridges to Nowhere. I advise all Independants and, Lib's(If you have the stomach) Dem's and Repub's who think, to attack.

With time running out ??? and as Mr. McCain discarded two safer choices, Gov. Tim Pawlenty of Minnesota and former Gov. Mitt Romney of Massachusetts, as too predictable ??? he turned to Ms. Palin. He had his first face-to-face interview with her on Thursday and offered her the job moments later. Advisers to Mr. Pawlenty and another of the finalists on Mr. McCain???s list described an intensive vetting process for those candidates that lasted one to two months.

???They didn???t seriously consider her until four or five days from the time she was picked, before she was asked, maybe the Thursday or Friday before,??? said a Republican close to the campaign. ???This was really kind of rushed at the end, because John didn???t get what he wanted. He wanted to do Joe or Ridge.???

In the final stages, two Republicans familiar with the process said, Mr. McCain???s campaign manager, Rick Davis, emerged as a key advocate for Ms. Palin.

Mr. McCain???s advisers said repeatedly on Monday that Ms. Palin was ???thoroughly vetted,??? a process that would have included a review of all financial and legal records as well as a criminal background check. A McCain aide said the campaign was well aware of the ethics investigation and had looked into it.

???It was obviously something that anybody Googling Sarah Palin knew was in the news and there was a very thorough vetting done on that and also on the daughter,??? the aide said.

People familiar with the process said Ms. Palin had responded to a standard form with more than 70 questions. Although The Washington Post quoted advisers to Mr. McCain on Sunday as saying Ms. Palin had been subjected to an F.B.I. background check, an F.B.I. official said Monday the bureau did not vet potential candidates and had not known of her selection until it was made public.

Mark Salter, Mr. McCain???s closest adviser, said in an e-mail message that Ms. Palin had been interviewed by Arthur B. Culvahouse Jr., a veteran Washington lawyer in charge of the vice-presidential vetting process for Mr. McCain, as well as by other lawyers who worked for Mr. Culvahouse. Mr. Salter did not respond to an e-mail message asking if Ms. Palin had told Mr. Culvahouse and his lawyers that her daughter was pregnant.

There's a huge different between Hillary Clinton and this woman. It is apples to oranges. Women - especially Hillary's 18,000,000 women won't be impressed. This woman is totally unqualified. He couldn't have picked a worse person. No one with an ounce of reason would want to put her in a position to run the greatest country on earth....Bad Choise John...

      But you forget,

the particular portion of these 18 million supporters that McCain is targeting couldn't care less about who he picks for his running mate. Their only goal is to to punish the DNC and sabotage Obama (for daring to run at all) and to get McCain in the WH so when he screws up Sen. Clinton will have a cake walk to the WH in 2012 (So they THINK!).
