MCCAIN-PALIN WILL.... LOSE

After extensive news coverage about all this nasty behind-the-scenes scandal, which is definitely NOT squeaky clean, Palin???s approval ratings fell to 67%, still high, but a far cry from the 90% number that???s being thrown around so glibly by the Republicans today. Alaskans are quickly becoming disillusioned once again.

???Executive Experience???

Before her meteoric rise to political success as governor, just two short years ago Sarah Palin was the mayor of Wasilla. I had a good chuckle at MSN.com???s claim that she had been the mayor of ???Wasilla City???. It is not a city. Just Wasilla.

Wasilla is the heart of the Alaska ???Bible belt??? and Sarah was raised amongst the tribe that believes creationism should be taught in our public schools, homosexuality is a sin, and life begins at conception. She???s a gun-toting, hang ???em high conservative. Remember???this is where her approval ratings come from.

There is no doubt that McCain again is making a strategic choice to appeal to a particular demographic - fundamentalist right-wing gun-owning Christians.

And Republican bloggers are already gushing about how she has ???more executive experience??? than Obama does!

Above is a picture of lovely downtown Wasilla, for those of you unfamiliar with the area. Behind the Mug-Shot Saloon (the first bar I visited when I moved to Alaska long ago) is a little strip mall. There are street signs in Wasilla with bullet holes in them.

Note: Wasilla has a population of about 5500 people, and 1979 occupied housing units.

This is where your potential Vice President was two short years ago. Can you imagine her negotiating a nuclear non-proliferation treaty? Discussing foreign policy? Understanding non-Alaskan issues?

Frankly, I don???t even know if she???s ever been out of the country. She may ???get??? Alaska, but there are only a half a million people here. Don???t get me wrong???.I love Alaska with all my heart. I???m just saying.

I, and all Alaskans will be interested to see how this whole process unfolds. This is definitely a gamble for McCain, and in my humble opinion, a gift to Obama and to Joe Biden who just got thrown a big hunk of red meat for the vice presidential debate.

This is the wedge-issue, desperate ???Hail Sarah??? pass of the McCain campaign.

Do you understand that you loose all credibility the moment you attack Sen. Obama's inexperience, while you are fine with Gov. Palin's qualifications to lead the free world? Or is credibility not in your vocabulary?
If you don't like inexperienced leaders fine!! But with all due respect Sir don't try to have it both ways. The reality is that no one expected Gov. Palin to be the VP nominee. The reality is that up to a few hours ago you most probably had no idea who Palin was. The reality is that Gov. Palin up to 1 1/2 years ago was the major of a town the size of a High School, and now is the Governor of a State with more Moose than people.
Look my friend ... Nice try , but you and your friend in the GOP are going to have to come up with better talking points if you want to reverse the damage her selection has done to the one message that was begining to resonate with American voters; "Obama is too inexperienced to be trusted ".

McCain helped his campaign by picking another maverick and female who can stand up to anyone. A new inspiring pick the republicans need. She has 80 percent approval in Alaska. She taxed oil companies and gave it all back to tax payers at $1,200 each.

Obama is a smart inspiring speaker, but Palin's actions speak louder than political words. She has fought corruption in both parties in Alaska. When she speaks she says it like it is, unlike polished career politicians. Some people can talk the talk, but Palin can walk the walk.

Now the race is exciting! History will be made period with either Obama or McCain!

wow, i love the liberal bias slamming in this article. First off what "change can we believe in" from a man who doesnt even pick the person who got nearly as many votes as he did, during the primarys? Instead of picking one of America's most prominent women, like her or not, for the all time concervative stomping candicacy, "Mr. Change" picks one of the oldest hounds in Washington. How much change can you expect from that? Zero. Why did he pick him? Because Obama's resume fits on about 3 lines. He doesnt have one. He picked Biden purely to bolster his forign policy experience (he has none), and his time in office credentials (he has none). At the same time, the pick of Biden also NEGATES the mantra of change, proving Obama the wonderful, is nothing more than a fresh young face on an ordinary politician.

McCain's pick however (and i was hoping for Romney) proves once again, that he doesnt care about status quo. He did'nt pick the most concervative candidate, or the one with the most financial experience to lead us out of this mess. He picked a young dog with alot of fire in her, who in her short carreer has made it a point to go after corruption, even in her own party, and do things for the people. She is among (if not thee) most popular senators in all the states with her constituents. Unlike Obama or Biden who has done little of note in either of their carreers... McCain and Palin both have carreers of being the outsider who gets things done. Being a woman only helps the situation with all those pissed off Hillary supporters out there. Do you vote party or raise your gender a notch? Thats how Obama got where he is, and thats how Palin is going to help get McCain further. And oh yes, I said it.... Newsweek shows their Liberal colors early not only in this first article but also their reporter on CNBC who repeatedly attacked Governor Palin. It appears women should only be elected if they are Democrat. Is NEWSWEEK part of the press? Aren't they supposed to report the news not try and spin and twist it?

McCain has had difficulty rallying the conservative base due to his middle of the road stance on many important issues. Palin is someone who is smart, articulate and NOT a part of the same old Washington. Talking about change. How is Joe Biden change? He has been in Washington longer than McCain. Yes, it has the ability to move some of Clinton supporters to the right side of the ballot but it proves that the Republicans are not against women, Just the wrong women.
