Mr. Alter. You predicted that she would be a flop. How do you like your crow prepared? I am going by Zaabar on Brodway this afternoon and see if they have any crow. Will it be Kosher or non-Kosher?

Last night shows she can read what's written for her. Let's see how she does without the teleprompter.
Other concerns I have are abuse of power (as mentioned) and how she likes to spout off about wedge issues to get what she wants. That's not a leader, that's a propagandist. I'll vote for substance.

Mr Alter do you really believe what you write ?? You are so off mark with your opinion.
The press seems to be self proclaimed "in touch" ... so far from the truth.
Good luck with your agenda !

Both Rudy Giuliani and Sarah Palin specifically mocked Barack Obama's experience as a community organizer on the South Side of Chicago more than two decades ago, where he worked with people who had lost jobs and been left behind when the local steel plants closed.

Let's clarify something for them right now.

Community organizing is how the American people respond to out-of-touch politicians and their failed policies.

And it's no surprise that, after eight years of George Bush, millions of people have found that by coming together in their local communities they can change the course of history. That promise is what our campaign has been about from the beginning.

Throughout our history, ordinary people have made good on America's promise by organizing for change from the bottom up. Community organizing is the foundation of the civil rights movement, the women's suffrage movement, labor rights, and the 40-hour workweek. And it's happening today in church basements and community centers and living rooms across America.

Meanwhile, we still haven't gotten a single idea during the entire Republican convention about the economy and how to lift a middle class so harmed by the Bush-McCain policies.

It's now clear that John McCain's campaign has decided that desperate lies and personal attacks -- on Barack Obama and on The American People -- are the only way they can earn a third term for the Bush policies that McCain has supported more than 90 percent of the time and 95 percent of the time o Iraq issues. A Cynical no substance campaign that the McCain Campaign is waging is a reflection of the administration they will produce. The proof is in the pudding as is the tainted administration of the last 8 years.

Extend you never ending same PAIN with your vote for McCain and the clown.

What is,... the difference between a pit bull and a hockey mom?
Quite a bit,... unless you are Sara Palin and then it's just lip stick and the pit bull doesn't need it.

Ha Ha ha Ho Ho Ho He He He

I know it's a long URL, but you all have to see this. Palin's pregnant daughter (Bristol) posted pics of herself online of her drinking and toung-kissing her sis-in-law.

GOTTA LOVE THIS FAMILY!!! Even better, you gotta love the GOP's effort to run a trick-play w/ 5seconds left in overtime....and the play goes HORRIBLY wrong!!!!

This is worse than a "Hail Mary" pass!!!!

    What a bunch of clowns!!!

By the way you Obamabots have been reacting to McCains pick of Sarah Palin this past week in these blogs (e.g. stooping to the level of attacking Palins children and husband?), it is very telling that McCains pick have you all truly worried. . . as you should be. BTW, have the non obama supporters ever attacked Obamas 2 kids? No, I didnt think so. Even Obama says attacking the children should not be part of politics. But unfortunately, not is not the truth because all of his supporters would be adhering to it.

Sharenews, let's agree with Obama that everyone should back off from attacking the kids. Now, can we go back to discussing whether Obama is a secret Muslim, supports terrorists, and all the other dignified Republican talking points?

        • Posted By: sharenews @ 09/03/2008 1:56:56 AM

Yes, but I dont think other Obama supporters are as respectful of a candidates family (children) based on what Ive been reading in these blogs and of course the media is out of control cuz they want Obama elected. Its ugly.

As for muslim . . .? I never really went down that route. I just assume that if he was a practicing muslim or ever was we'd know by now. Anyways, I dont talk about that as a concern. What bothers me with him (in addition to his lack of any executive experience AND foreign policy experience) IS his long list of people he associated with over the years (as you say, former terrorists), an anti-american / government church filled with hateful angry sermons and pastors (God D*m America. . . land of the KKK), Slumlords (he got millions of dollars to contribute to at least shady friends who pocketed the money and let the complexes In Obamas district he was responsible get run down and eventually unlivable, with one of those slumlords being Rezko (eventually committing fraud and in jail now). The saying is you are judged by the people you keep. . . and Obama has kept company with alot of bad people. Thus, the reason I question his moral values, his integrity and the impact having had so many people in his life like those I mention and more what he absorbed all those years to get to where he is now. The only thing he has going for him is that he is a great motivational speaker. . . charming and suave (to those who fall for his facade). So thats my story, sorry for the rambling but I cant help how I feel. I have to be comfortable about the candidate I vote for. Obama is Not THE ONE.

Why is Palin not ready to be VP? Because in July she needed someone to tell her what the VP does!!!!

Why is this a big deal? Because she would be a heart beat away from becoming President, one of the jobs of the VP.

Obviously, what a VP does depends on who the President is. The things Gore did were totally different from what Cheney has done.

If I were being considered for the job, I'd want to know what would be expected of me in the administration the candidate was planning too. It's not a bad question to ask.

Alaskan Secessionist & Independence Party: Founder Broadcast his Hatred Of America & said "Damn that Flag"

I guess he pledges Allegiance to the Soveriegn State, I mean Country of (Alaska) Huh

Palin's Husband was a Member for 7 Years and Palin Supported the Secession of Alaska from the USA, making the USA a 49 State Union !!!
    ----------------

The founder of the Alaska Independence Party -- a group that has been courted over the years by Sarah Palin, and one Palin's Husband was a member of for roughly 7 YEARS -- once professed his "Hatred for the American Government" and Cursed the American Flag as a "Damn Flag."

The AIP founder, Joe Vogler, made the comments in 1991, in an interview that's now housed at the Oral History Program in the Rasmuson Library at the University of Alaska, Fairbanks.

"The fires of hell are frozen glaciers compared to my hatred for the American government," Vogler said in the interview, in which he talked extensively about his desire for Alaskan secession, the key goal of the AIP.

Great speech tonite, round one. Lets see if how she does in the debates. I have a feeling that people are underestimating her verocity and political experience and knowledge. Time will tell. It is exciting though, you have to admit, the race as we proceed to the GE. : - D

So they are going to tutor Sarah Palin- Isn't a VP pick supposed to know some of the most important things like foreign policy and the war in Iraq before they should even be considered? It shows McCains lack of judgement- He is just another Bushite- Act first and think of the consequences later- Scary to think he could be elected president when he just proved he acts before he thinks-

Probably he will not post his question as many times you have about the poor ex-wife of Mcain when he came home to her after being a POW and stayed with her for 9 yrs even though the two were experiencing major problems and then he cheated on his wife who had a limp from a car accident that she had a year or so into McCains stay in North Vietnam for 5 1/2 yrs.. LOL.

You have posted links to Obama smear and slander sites for months while insisting you were undecided. Read al about yourself, even mark who is one of the most fair and gentle posters here has pointed this out about you. Here is a suggestion, get a job or just be quiet.! BTW, McCain did cheat on his crippled wife and even Sarah can't change that fact! But in any case, both McCain and Palin are hypocrites with their gun-ho GOP family values. They don't seem to have much of them.. Talk about poor judgement....yes, the poor judgement you have accused Obama of. Now the shoe is on the other foot. Enjoy!

    • Posted By: pearsoncrz @ 09/03/2008 12:29:52 PM

In case you flunked geography, Alaska has borders with Russia and Canada, so Gov. Palin has more actual foreign experience than Obama, dealing with the issues this would raise for more than a year. And if you think her son is headed to Iraq and she doesn't have a clue to what he is getting into, then you must not be a parent yourself.

Slow down, take a breath, and stop hyperventilating. We know Obama's campaign never expected McCAin to be so innovative as to nominate a woman. After all, they've been trying to portray him as a misogynist for months now.

It is all an OBAMA tactic. It was Obamas practice in the Primaries, and again as we move thru the race to the GE, that he is showing a pattern of continually repeating his past practices. Conducting vicious attacks about the candidate (or in this latest attack on the children a new LOW) thru distanced Obama supporters and then with him making appearances in front of the press acting so totally disgusted at these (children) attacks of late, Palins 2 children. . . with one having Downs Syndrome (4mos old) and the other child being pregnant . . . and then pulling together a fabricated story and promoting it thru his surrogates. It is absolutely disgusting.

    Food for thought:
Here are the results of the 2006 Alaska Gov Race ...FYI ..Alaska's population is 676,987 (7/01/07) which McCain and the GOP are saying is so impressive and gives her credence.
State Registered voters: 466,258 out of 676,987 population
Total votes for the GOV position: 237,322
    Palin Received : 114,697 votes
Interestingly, less than half of the states registered voters even bothered to vote in this election. She did not win by a 50% or better majority and her current approval rating is not the 80% that the repubs are stating. But my bottom line is this ... I do not think that 114,697 votes, oh and the 964 for Mayor of Wasila, give's me any type of a warm and confident feeling of this woman being a heartbeat away from the presidency. She also left the town millions in debt as she climbed the political ladder.
Just back away from all the TV/Reporting angles and really think about it. Mr. Obama and Mrs. Clinton each received more than 18 MILLION votes and were both thoroughly vetted for months by the people. Palin has had 4 days plus all the drama.
For me, McCain's judgement just does not work and his vetting process leaves alot to be desired and answered before this concerned American would even considered this a presidential decision of any value other than to try and pander votes Palin mocks Obama???s credibility. She states she was a mayor and a governor..well wasn???t Bush the governor of Texas and look where that got our Country. ??? Fool me once ??? theory is definitely in affect/effect and now is the time for change. Our country cannot afford anymore republican decisions and conservative greed. Our country needs to be about and for the MAJORITY of its citizens not the small percentage that are rich and controlling.
The republican agenda has left our country in debt so deep and getting deeper everyday that it will take generations before relief is in sight. Our dollar so devalued it takes a $1.50 for every $1.00 of debt. We are currently borrowing billions from China and perhaps other countries. We are only paying the interest, never decreasing what we owe. This has got to stop. Just today Bush gives Georgia a billion. How many Americans could use that money. Hell, our wounded troops could use it for their earned medical treatments. Why is he giving away what we don???t have. The republicans talk about family and how important it is???well what about the American family. This country needs billions to set itself straight. We need to take care of our family, our country first !!! I am a middle class American, educated and hard-working. But now ??? I am an angry American . Enough, it is time for change.
No way, No how, No McCain/Palin.

Great! Personally, I'm glad to see the happy talk about Gov. Palin's speech, because now we can stop being distracted about whether McCain will kick her off the ticket. Personally, I found her speech more than a little scary. We've had 8 years of the guy next door in the White House. I don't want my next-door-neighbor to be a heartbeat away. I want someone waaay above average. Give me Obama/Biden over McCain/Palin any day and twice on Sunday.

CNN) ??? Prominent Republican analysts Peggy Noonan and Mike Murphy became the latest victims of an open microphone Wednesday, caught after a segment on MSNBC trashing John McCain's pick of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin as his running mate.

Noonan, a Wall Street Journal columnist and former speechwriter for Ronald Reagan, and Murphy, a campaign strategist and onetime aide to John McCain, can both be heard expressing disbelief with the pick of Palin after they apparently thought they were in a commercial break.

???I come out of the blue swing-state governor world, Engler, Whitman, Thompson, Mitt Romney,??? Murphy said during the mishap which has since been posted on YouTube. Murphy later flatly says of the pick, "It's not going to work."

Noonan is heard going even further, saying of the presidential race, "It's over."

"I think they went for this ??? excuse me??? political bulls???t about narratives," Noonan also said. "Every time the Republicans do that, because that's not where they live and it's not what they're good at, they blow it."

Murphy, who was a senior adviser to John McCain's 2000 presidential bid, also adds, "You know what's really the worst thing about it? The greatness of McCain is no cynicism, and this is cynical."

Does the Democratic leadership under Barack Obama expect current electric power plants to provide all the huge electricity requirements to recharge and power all the new hybrid and electric cars will be coming on line. There will have to be new power plants built and these must be nuclear plants. The new sources of additional electricity to charge up all these cars will have to come from nuclear energy. Why is there such an ingrained irrational fear about nuclear energy and waste disposal among some Americans especially the Democratic leadership under the direction of Barack Obama. Importantly also why is it somehow okay for hundreds of thousands of Navy sailors to have served for nearly thirty-five years aboard nuclear power American aircraft carriers and nuclear powered submarines and air force personnel to handle nuclear bombs but Democratic leadership under Barack Obama will not consider to even remotely assume any risks involved with nuclear power. Is it okay for our servicemen to be exposed to alleged risks but not the Democratic leadership who oppose nuclear power. This paranoia is particular evident with the Democrats acceptance of risks that are associated with other aspects of modern American living. Forty thousand people die every year in the United States in auto accidents but there is no outcry to ban all automobiles in the United States. Bridges have collapsed recently in Minnesota and tunnels ceilings in Boston have fallen but there is no consensus on eliminating bridges or tunnels. There have been airplane crashes that have also involved injuries on the ground but there is no outcry to ban air travel. There have been repeated rail and ship accidents but no outcry to ban railroads or ship travel. The irrational fear involving nuclear power and waste disposal has no justification. American people undergo multiple medical and dental xrays and CT scans yearly and have no fear. Patients with cancer including Senator Ted Kennedy undergo treatment with chemotherapy and radiation treatments without fear of overexposure to radiation. TSA airport screeners and medical staff work daily around xray equipment, fluoroscopes, and CT machines and do not experience adverse health consequences as a result of their work exposure. There were no documented adverse health events associated with the Three Mile Island release of minor radiation in the 1970s and no payments for health losses were ever made involving lawsuits related to that accident. The containment vessel held at Three Mile Island. In light of most Americans acceptance of risks associated with automobiles, trains, planes, and ships, the fear on the part of the Democratic leadership of nuclear power can not be viewed as rational. John McCain's proposals to build 45 new nuclear power plants along with his other energy proposals on conservation and renewable energy will help America achieve relative energy independence in the near term and long term.
