AJC Strongly Condemns Rev. Jesse Jackson's Comment on American Jews
October 14, 2008 - New York - The American Jewish Committee (AJC) has condemned the Rev. Jesse Jackson's statement about 'Zionists who have controlled American policy for decades.'
"Rev. Jackson's remarks, which appeared in an interview with the journalist Amir Taheri in today's New York Post, echo classic anti-Semitic conspiracy theories about Jewish power," said AJC Executive Director David A. Harris. 'This statement, regrettably, is not the first troubling comment by Rev. Jackson regarding Israel, Zionism and the Jewish people.'

Arguing as a private citizen that an Obama administration could bring significant change to U.S. foreign policy, Jackson was quoted as saying that "Zionists who have controlled American policy for decades" would lose much of their influence should Senator Obama be elected president."

And people are upset about raciest comments some in the crowd are allegedly saying at Palin events? Isn't this the same Democrat leader who once called New York "Hymietown"?

I was 12 when AuH2O ran for president. I volunteered at Republican headquarters in Lynwood, California to help him get elected. I cried the night he lost to LBJ, and I still do, I'm still shocked at the number of people that got sucked in to Lyndon's "Daisy ad" and still believe it yet they have no problem with "peaceful" Johnson sinking us deep into Viet Nam." Goldwater was a "true conservative", read his book Conscience of a Conservative which shows him as a freer thinker than any of his liberal counterparts. His openly expressed views on gay rights earned him the derogatory nickname "Barry the Fairy", but being the man he was he let it go. Lloyd Benson said Mr. Quayle, you're no John Kennedy. I'm not an Obama supporter, but with his constant flip/flops I'm forced to say "Mr. McCain you're no Barry Goldwater."

Oh how soon we forget! Wasn't it Ronald Reagan who cut taxes and the receippts to the treasury grew? And wasn't it Newt Gingrich and the Republicans who had a contract with American that revitalized our economy so that Bill Clinton and the Dems could claim credit? Folks, higher taxes mean lower receipts to the treasury, lost jobs at home, more failures of small businesses who create most of the jobs today, and less money in your pocket and mine. Our current woes are the direct result of people who wanted bigger homes they couldn't afford, large SUVs they couldn't afford, and huge credit card debt for all the other things they couldn't afford to pay cash for. And, I think, all this to keep up with the "wealthiest one percent" who they don't think pay their fair share of the tax burden in this country. I guess 20% or less of the taxpayers paying 85-90% of the taxes isn't their fair shair. We need clear heads at the polls this November or we will truly be sent down the slipppery slope of Socialism.

Goldwater was committed to nuclear confrontation with the, then, USSR. Thank GOD no one ever passed him "the football". Reagan claimed he took down the Iron Curtain and Berlin Wall, but it was really his arming of the Taliban to fight in proxy against the USSR that temporarily bankrupted the USSR.We reaped Reagan's reward with 9/11. Bush and McCain are now committed to BANKRUPTING THE USA WITH A HOLY WAR without end, until their corporate elitists own the planet {or Jesus' second coming, whichever comes first}. The tradition of human suffering caused by belligerence, idiocy and greed will continue if Bush and Palin are elected orallowed to steal another election. Pray for our Nation. of the United States of America.

McCain/Palin''s high approval percentage is more than double GW Bush''s approval rating. Therefore McCain/Palin are ready now, and Bush/Cheney ought to resign today to let McCain/Palin finish the Bush/Cheney second term as a running start to their own two elected terms (the max). All AMERICANS gain this way.

When Mccain mentioned how we must prevent "nations Russia from acts of aggression on the country of Georgia"., I though to myself our allies must think we're crazy! Bush stupidly bot us into a misguided war that is costing us dearly with precious America lives and taxpayer dollars that could be used here at home, instead of nation building the country we have occupied for 7 years and counting. We should be in Afghnistan and re-deploy into Pakistan and fight the REAL TERRORISTS. Our militray is spread to thin and it jeopardizes our own own national security here at home. The American poeple no longer want us there,
though McCain's hearing aids don't seem to be working right. McCain is just More of the Same. Senators Obama -Biden get my vote in November!

Both Rudy Giuliani and Sarah Palin specifically mocked Barack Obama's experience as a community organizer on the South Side of Chicago more than two decades ago, where he worked with people who had lost jobs and been left behind when the local steel plants closed.

Let's clarify something for them right now.

Community organizing is how the American people respond to out-of-touch politicians and their failed policies.

And it's no surprise that, after eight years of George Bush, millions of people have found that by coming together in their local communities they can change the course of history. That promise is what our (The American People's) campaign has been about from the beginning.

Throughout our history, ordinary people have made good on America's promise by organizing for change from the bottom up. Community organizing is the foundation of the civil rights movement, the women's suffrage movement, labor rights, and the 40-hour workweek. And it's happening today in church basements and community centers and living rooms across America.

Meanwhile, we still haven't gotten a single idea during the entire Republican convention about the economy and how to lift a middle class so harmed by the Bush-McCain policies.

It's now clear that John McCain's campaign has decided that desperate lies and personal attacks -- on Barack Obama and on The American People -- are the only way they can earn a third term for the Bush policies that McCain has supported more than 90 percent of the time and 95 percent of the time o Iraq issues. A Cynical no substance campaign that the McCain Campaign is waging is a reflection of the administration they will produce. The proof is in the pudding as is the tainted administration of the last 8 years.

Extend you never ending same PAIN with your vote for McCain and the clown.

What is,... the difference between a pit bull and a hockey mom?
Quite a bit,... unless you are Sara Palin and then it's just lip stick and the pit bull doesn't need it.

Ha Ha ha Ho Ho Ho He He He

Do you have the where-with-it-all to realize unlike Sara Painlin that her bad joke was a direct cut to the working mothers of the United States who actually do participate in their children's activities (sports and other wise) through great sacrifice making sure their children have a good chance at a balanced, well adjusted life and maybe don't have time to always look their best in doing so. Calling them pit bulls without make-up. Typical out of touch Republican Clown Elitist. I don't have anybody on my block, who like this Clown, who thinks like she does that women always have to look their best appearance wise no matter what they are doing. So out-of-touch and so Republican!

  • Posted By: nerakami @ 09/04/2008 10:15:32 AM

have one thing to say, the GOP convention showed itself as an exclusive, separatist organization. There was not one thing reflective of the diverse cultures in this country. It was like America walking backwards...

I am a single mother raising 2 children with no health insurance.
Sarah Palin was not talking to me last night.
The Republicans in their image and speeches shut out millions of us who do not look or sound like them. They do not represent me.

  • Posted By: RiversideWarrior @ 09/02/2008 1:12:28 PM

Given the lower IQ and lack of education associated with the majority of GOP voters, the selection of Palin will do little to dissuade them from "staying the course". However, for this independent voter and many others this choice really gives us pause for thought. Think about it, just 20 months ago this person was the Mayor of Wasilla City, pop. 5,500 (and maybe some bears and caribou thrown in for good measure). I can think of a few municipalities in the US that can provide a greater degree of executive-level experience than that offered by Wasilla City (from Austin to Tallahassee). She is also extremely conservative, even on issues of concern to women such as the right to choose, birth control and gender equity on equal pay between men and women for performing the same jobs. In short, she is no Hillary. Do I want the Mayor of Wasilla City a heartbeat away from being my next President if the old guy (he turns 73 next August) keels over? Any voter, man or woman, would be pretty crazy to vote for such a ticket given the risks involved and it says a great deal about McCain's lack of good judgment on making important decisions.

    • Posted By: stumped @ 09/03/2008 8:45:31 PM

hahaha my thoughts exactly,,,A 72 year old president is not what we need...Is that why he picked a 41 year old mother of five, she may be able to raise her kids, but can she raise The United States of America...Umm NO!

Remember that if it weren't for Bush's pitiful tactics, throwing Generals under the bus, underestimating the enemy, Blackwater issue, killing innocent people (which infuriated the local tribes to civil war) the surge would never have been needed. As a matter of fact, the war was never needed in the first place as Mr. Obama never voted for it because he knew Afghanistan was where the spear needed to be pointed. Remember "Mission Accomplished"? Well it still hasn't been accomplished and yet Maliki is saying we're ready to do this, so you can go now. There is a war on terror and Iraq is saying that we can now focus our efforts on the areas that really need it. Afghanistan is worse off than Iraq and yet Bush is getting off scott free. He has bungled all the operations to the point that Petraeus is probably glad see him go.

The fact is , Year 2008 only had two major events; Clinton versus Obama and desasters and accidents throughout the world. The fabrication of a outsider for VP will fade away soon but it helped the media.

There should be laws written requiring political ads to be factual. OOPs, I think there are some against slander. Someone really needs to go after the Republicans for the outright lies. Lying on a candidate should not be an acceptable part of American politics.

willnotevoteObama's comments are an ungrammatical rant themselves. As far as Palin goes, Obama showed real class and human decency when he stated that Palin's family was 'off limits/" Let us look at the
Republican record. They are constantly engaging in fear, smear and lies, whether it is sexual or other wise. However, when they sin they always expect to be forgiven. (This is very typical of many evangelical voters as well.)
Besdies, as I am writing this comment, we are getting all sorts of reports about Palin's lies. She holds a record in lobbying for earmarks - something that McCain the maverick supposedly abhors, unless his running mate engages in them. Although Newsweek recently showed Palin holding a salmon she caught, if you check out the Sustainable Minig Website, Palin has refused to protect the salmon of Briscoe Bay from the toxic substances of the Pebble open pit gold and copper mine, so one of Amrica's largest and most valuable salmon fisheries faces extinction. And has Palin ever thought about the effects of global warming on Alaska? Shouldn;'t the current epidemic of hurricans say something.

I will close now, lest I start ranting. But to paraphrase Hamlet "Hypocrisy, thy name is McCain. Hypocrisy, thy name is Palin. Hypocrisy, thy name is the evangelical right. And hypocrisy, thy name is the Republican party."

And yes, if you actually read the Bible, Jesus went on a warpath against religious hypocrites.

This article compels me to share a quote I obtained from the August 14-21 edition of L.A Weekly, from an article by Steven Leigh Morris. The speaker is the author???s Russian father-in law, Yuru Yuyevich, the former editor of The Red Star, once the official Soviet military newspaper:
???We (in Russia) are in the privileged position of understanding all the mistakes you are making because we made exactly the same mistakes just before our empire collapsed.???
:Our mistakes all stemmed from our rigid adherence to ideology rather than finding a balance between principles and practicalities. Our ideology was very different from your, but you too are wedded in ideology - a privatization/free market ideology - as an economic template for the entire world. As you are discovering, it may not be a good fit for the entire world. You now look very tired, perhaps from trying to govern the entire world by yourselves, as we once tried to do. And when a nation is tired, it makes more and more foolish mistakes. Rigid ideology is a symptom of such fatigue.??? I

Reagan misnamed the Soviet Empire. It was not Evil. It was phenomenally stupid, and as Voltaire pointed out if ??? We believe in absurdities, we will commit atrocities.??? The Soviet leadership was a cult of corpse worship.Lenin was entombed in a mausoleum and all Soviet leaders kept trying to look to Lenin for leadership
Just like the late great USSR, the Republicans worship corpses: Reagan and Goldwater. Their only obsession is what wout Reagan do/ What would Goldwater do? We cannot run a country that way,.

Obama represents youth, vitality, hope and change. He represents the future. We have a choice. We can either elect Obama with a sweeping majority -or we can join the USSR in the "great ash heap of history.".

Well it seems the democrats are not happy with any thing and will go to the ends of the earth to discredit people. Sarah palin???s 17y/o daughter is pregnant but so is 2 million other unmarried teens in America! But because its Mrs. Palin???s kid that makes her a bad parent or not in touch with her children???. I guess all the other parents of the other 2 million are bad as well! But wait her husband got a d.u.i. 22 yrs ago and had an accident that caused some property damage so he???s an awful person according to the liberal democrats! It makes no difference that Joe biden is a long time big government spender all the while he claims to be a regular guy! He says I ride Amtrak everyday to work and home he fails to mention that that Amtrak ride costs 97 dollars a day! That???s about the amount of money that 25% Americans make day (they are the low income earners but before taxes they are considered middle class according to the government which is a bunch of bull in my opinion that???s at poverty level!) and he spends it on Amtrak yeah he a regular Joe! And barrack Obama well he???s no angel either he???s got some pretty bad bill???s hidden in his closet not to mention his admitted marijuana and cocaine use years ago but lets not talk about that says the liberal media lets talk about mr.palin???s d.u.i. Or the 17 y/o???s pregnancy this liberal bias in the media is getting a little aggravating but I think that the American people will see that this whole thing is leaning to far left and it will back fire in obama???s face costing him the chance at being the leader of the free world! It???s a shame that our election process has come to this! as you can see all the dirt being dug up is from the move-on.org idiots who wants those morons running the country they have obama in thier poket he's thier hand picked choice !

      • Posted By: Pia1981 @ 09/02/2008 2:03:32 PM

The GOP is hypocritical in choosing Mrs. Palin for VP knowing her 17 year old daughter was pregnant. The evangelical vote is no sure thing anymore. Young Miss Palin had very poor judgement. Where did she learn that? Where all children reared at home do.

        • Posted By: willnotvoteobama @ 09/02/2008 3:28:33 PM

the evangelical voters understand that things happen beyond our control and they are forgiving when a mistake happens they will vote mccain and mrs palin will overcome all this slander that is being trown at her she is a strong woman and i have been a admirer for some time now she is what we have been looking for to get washington back on track you would like her pia if you do a little searching about her and pay no attn to the liberal rant go to a unbias website and read up on her she is something to be looked at !!

          • Posted By: raddave @ 09/02/2008 4:28:57 PM

Its slander only when it is not true, everything thrown at Mrs. Palin has been, no matter how bad, true.

Talk about Hypocrits: OBAMA has you snowblind

TERRY ANDERSON, A BLACK LOS ANGELES TALK RADIO HOST, WENT DOWN A LIST OF THINGS SENATOR OBAMA HAS SAID THAT AREN'T EXACTLY CORRECT...
    Obama's Not Exactlys
1.) Selma March Got Me Born - NOT EXACTLY, your parents felt safe enough to have you in 1961 - Selma had no effect on your birth, as Selma was in 1965. (Google'Obama Selma ' for his full March 4, 2007 speech and articles about its various untruths.)
2.) Father Was A Goat Herder - NOT EXACTLY, he was a privileged, well educated youth, who went on to work with the Kenyan Government.
3.) Father Was A Proud Freedom Fighter - NOT EXACTLY, he was part of one of the most corrupt and violent governments Kenya has ever had.
4.) My Family Has Strong Ties To African Freedom - NOT EXACTLY, your cousin Raila Odinga has created mass violence in attempting to overturn a legitimate election in 2007, in Kenya . It is the first widespread violence in decades. The current government is pro-American but Odinga wants to overthrow it and establish Muslim Sharia law. Your half-brother, Abongo Oba ma, is Odinga's follower. You interrupted your New Hampshire campaigning to speak to Odinga on the phone. Check out the following link for verification of that...and for more. Obama's cousin Odinga in Kenya ran for president and tried to get Sharia muslim law in pla ce t here. When Odinga lost the elections, his followers have burned Christians' homes and then burned men, women and children alive in a Christian church where they took shelter.. Obama SUPPORTED his cousin before the election process here started. Google Obama and Odinga and see what you get. No one wants to know the truth.

5.) My Grandmother Has Always Been A Christian - NOT EXACTLY, she does her daily Salat prayers at 5am according to her own interviews. Not to mention, Christianity wouldn't allow her to have been one of 14 wives to 1 man.
6.) My Name is African Swahili - NOT EXACTLY, your name is Arabic and 'Baraka' (from which Barack came) means 'blessed' in that language. Hussein is also Arabic and so is Obama. Barack Hussein Obama is not half black. If elected, he would be the first Arab-American President, not the first black President. Barack Hussein Obama is 50% Caucasian from his mother's si de a nd 43.75% Arabic and 6.25% African Negro from his father's side. While Barack Hussein Obama's father was from Kenya , his father's family was mainly Arabs.. 8.) My School In Indonesia Was Christian - NOT EXACTLY, you were registered as Muslim there and got in trouble in Koranic Studies for making faces (check your own book). February 28, 2008. Kristoff from the New York Times a year ago: Mr. Obama recalled the opening lines of the Arabic call to prayer, reciting them with a first-rate accent. In a remark that seemed delightfully uncalculated (it'll give Alabama voters heart attacks), Mr. Obama described the call to prayer as 'one of the prettiest sounds on Earth at sunset.' This is just one example of what Pamela is talking about when she says 'Obama's narrative is being altered , en hanced and manipulated to whitewash troubling facts.'
9.) I Was Fluent In Indonesian - NOT EXACTLY, not one teacher says you could speak the language.
