    Off Topic But...
Doesn't McCain have another daughter? Has anyone seen a family photo which included her during this campaign? I just looked at a group photo of the Palin family and The McCain's John, Cindy and Megan. I know that there are a couple of sons also.

    Just thought it was odd!

McCain is a screw up. I knew the deck was stacked against him but this is amazing. Don't know how anyone could vote for him. But they will nonetheless. Crazy.

Obama is a radical from the blame America first, anti-Israel, the Rosenbergs were guilty, more government, amoral, the CIA developed HIV virus, wing of the Democratic Party.

What are you up to now - 10 -15 hours of Limbaugh a day? You have parroted perfectly all the talking points. Educate yourself and think for yourself.

Some our best minds are on the extreme left wing: Chomsky, West, Carter, Pelosi, Frank, Kucinich, Fineman, Anderson, Connors. Barry should not be ashamed of being a radical and an extreme liberal. (He had the most liberal record in the Senate). He should not be ashamed of this. Neither should you.

Your babbling again Jose. Make complete sentences or I will have to sit you in the corner again. Bad Marti, bad marti.

Hey SJ, really interesting and the GOP convention isn't even over yet. What was this man thinking? Clearly more people to vet with tons of experience. I wouldn't be surprised if the delegation said screw you McCain.

WOW, Obama offers clinton cabinet position

I just heard that Hillary Clinton wants to be Secretary of State and Obama will give it to her. It is a much more powerful position than VP.

Now they have pictures of Bristol hanging out drinking Cpt. Morgans. This is no joke. Very seirous.

    • Posted By: chindognyc @ 09/02/2008 2:10:13 PM

The reason why this is serious is because she was out telling other parents to be better parents and they will see their chidren grow up and be the kind of adults they can be, and than have her own come up pregnant to a young african-american. She should re-think about sex education in schools.

      • Posted By: sjpersonal @ 09/02/2008 2:21:12 PM

The baby is bi-racial? That's surprising, this will be more than likely be a "Silent" issue for the GOP! I hadn't heard about the drinking. That is serious.

  • Posted By: chindognyc @ 09/02/2008 1:51:09 PM

Sarah Palin use to be a member of the Alaskan Indepandance. If you don't know what that is, it was a group that wanted no part of the U.S. This is very serious.

    • Posted By: kshortSD @ 09/02/2008 1:54:38 PM

Another reason to be scared. It makes Obama's "flag pin" issue seem really silly, doesn't it? Talk about a lack of patriotism...

      • Posted By: RiversideWarrior @ 09/02/2008 2:18:42 PM

Seems like a potential traitor to me, why isn't she running for President of Alaska instead??

  • Posted By: chindognyc @ 09/02/2008 2:11:20 PM

Sarah Palin also said that women who are pro-choice might have mental stress. Wow.

    • Posted By: sjpersonal @ 09/02/2008 2:16:45 PM

      Hi Chin,

Yes, he did pick a very SPECIAL LOL! VP.

  • Posted By: macasheville @ 09/02/2008 1:55:26 PM

It looks like an update may soon be in order.

There is justification for suspicions that Bristol Palin is not five-months pregnant but delivered a child in April of this year, the child named Trig claimed to be Sarah Palin's.

Mainstream media sources have revealed that:
    1) In March of this year, Sarah Palin first announced her "pregnancy" one month before the child was born. Friends and coworkers had been unaware of it, and she had not looked pregnant. It was only after the announcement that Sarah Palin's public appearances suggested that she was pregnant.
    2) Bristol Palin was out of school for five months (allegedly due to mononucleosis) at the time Trig was born.
    3) Sarah Palin was at a Texas conference in April when she claims her "water broke". She subsequently delivered a speech to the conference, then traveled to a backwoods hospital in Wasilla Alaska (where she was mayor and has great influence) to "deliver".
    4) Photos of Bristol Palin in late 2007 show that she, not her mother, appeared to be pregnant.

I agree that 17-year-old Bristol Palin should be off-limits, but Sarah Palin, as vice-presidential candidate, gets no such free pass.

If she has deceived the American people by claiming her daughter's child is her own, and covered up that falsehood by saying that her daughter is now pregnant, we deserve to know. Sarah Palin's willingness to expose her daughter and her family to such a media spotlight shows abominable judgment and morality.

Why is the McCain camp sending a large group of "vetters" to Alaska now - to get more information about Palin or to dispose of the evidence against her?????

  • Posted By: paulte @ 09/02/2008 11:31:58 AM

I don't think McCain's choice of Palin for vp is very good. The reason being that she has about as much experience as Obama to be President. She seems like a person who could very well end up as President in the future but at this point with only two years experience as governor of Alaska, she is clearly not qualified for the job of vp and possible p if the old fart kicks off. Just like Obama is not qualified for the job, period in spite of all his eloquent speeches.

But on balance the damage is done and it is better to have an inexperienced vp nominee than an inexperieinced p nominee, so go vote for McCain!

    • Posted By: anitadee @ 09/02/2008 1:49:12 PM

Please tell me what experience did George Bush have to be president, obviously none that is why this country is in such a bad way now. So I say to you Stupid is as stupid does and you sound pretty stupid right now, or maybe you're just one of those good ole boys that would choose death and destruction over life and progression because they are just like you.

I am puzzled by McCain's pick for V.P. Hell of a risky gamble I'd say. Palin seems perky, quirky, scrappy, quite the "character," but scarcely presidential. My main complaint with her so far is that she didn't turn McCain down cold. She seems bright enough to know that she is incredibly unqualified to run Starship America. Or maybe she has George's problem and she isn't. Well, time will tell.
On C-span today, a group of republican strategists were asked, 'if Sarah Palin were Sam Palin, would HE have been selected.' To their credit the panel answered honestly that no , HE would not. So it appears that this is a gimmick to go after the female vote even at the risk of putting an unqualified candidate in the white house. McCain has put getting elected first above 'Country First.'

    • Posted By: kshortSD @ 09/02/2008 1:40:33 PM

Isn't it frightening? It's almost as if he thinks he can win some of Hillary's voters despite the fact that her policies are quite the opposite. It's insulting. And it discredits his "experience" argument that he's used against Obama. Unbelievable. I have friends who speculate that McCain doesn't want to win and he's used the VP pick to sabotage his chances.

  • Posted By: AskPlus @ 09/02/2008 1:27:55 PM

Mrs. Right? Mrs. Springer maybe. Or, how about a reality TV show. She can appear right after Hulk Hogan and before Paris Hilton. Seems like Ms. Palin is a "celebrity too". Soon, Levi Johnson is going to be a household name, and I'm sure he'll write a book about why his site proclaims he is "single and looking", while Ms. Palin says he agreed to get married to her daughter. Her daughter can have the baby, then do a Levi's (jeans) commercial to make ends meet. Hopefully, the angry, embittered State Trooper will not write a tell all too. Can't wait to see what her sister has to say about all this. If we are lucky though, there will not be any more news on her wanting to separate Alaska from the US. Whew. Reality TV at it's worst.

The McCain Palin ticket spans american conservitives( Palin) and moderates (McCain!)... where as Obama/ Biden appeals only to what they BOTH are! Far left, Liberals!
For campaign purposes,Obama's choice was a mistake of INEXPERIENCE! And his bump from the convention was 5 points!? Thats because even up on his big blue mountain stage, he could NOT put down the AMERICANS SUCK FIRST banner!
McCain/Palin will walk, not run, to the White House!

    • Posted By: raddave @ 09/02/2008 1:19:20 PM

I think you need to look at the polls again. Obama is enjoying a 6 point advantage over McCain. McCain is about as moderate as George Bush, since he has voted with him over 95% of the time.

    • Posted By: kshortSD @ 09/02/2008 12:32:52 PM

If McCain wins, it will be a step backward for the rights of women, minorities, and gays. If McCain wins, we will continue to rely on foreign oil and drill off our scenic coasts rather than find new energy sources. If McCain wins, we will continue to see tax cuts for large corporations and wealthy individuals. If McCain wins, it will be a long time before we restore our international relationships and have any hope of calming the anger of Muslim extremists. I'm scared...

"As for the prospect of her being vice president, Palin told Kudlow that she could not answer the question of whether she wanted the job 'UNTIL SOMEBODY ANSWERS FOR ME WHAT IS IT EXACTLY THAT THE VP DOES EVERY DAY. I'm used to being very productive and working real hard in an administration. We want to make sure that that VP slot would be a fruitful type of position, especially for Alaskans and for the things that we're trying to accomplish up here.'

Oh SNAP, the woman doesn't know what the position is. Great, just great. And McCain supporters want this guy as Commander in Chief. In the words of Syndrome, "Oh this is just too good."

  • Posted By: Cloudosmoke @ 09/02/2008 1:02:37 PM

McCain is out of touch. He can't relate to the average american because hae has never had to suffer hard ships. He could have gotten out of Vietnam anytime he wanted to. He has no loyalties except to himself. He is never in the Senate to vote. He has never criticized any wrong doings by his colleagues in the Senate. As a matter of fact he has supported all the immoral and unethical behaviors by Larry Craig, DeLay, Bush, Cheney, Powell, Rice. McCain is the same old politician full of lies.

  • Posted By: Cloudosmoke @ 09/02/2008 1:00:39 PM

McCain was at the bottom of the list in the Navy. He was given a political position, never worked to get it. He has all kinds of money to spend on anything he wants and what he wants is more power and no responsibility. If he were a responsible steward of authority, he would have been campaigning non stop since he secured the nomination, but what's he been doing? Nothing. Wait, he's been doing something... he's been cheesing and smiling thinking he was a shoo in for the POTUS. Man you are crazy to want to vote for McCain. He doesn't have any military experience other than being shot down but a pop gun.

  • Posted By: Cloudosmoke @ 09/02/2008 12:59:50 PM

We have fought too many wars and McCain is ready to fight some more. McCain doesn't think about being a statesman no more than Bush did. Maverick, Cowboy... whatever, they both act the same, wrecklessly. He's dangerous, he's incompetent, he's untrustworthy.

  • Posted By: Cloudosmoke @ 09/02/2008 12:59:30 PM

Bush has killed the military and the recruitment process and McCain will bring the Draft back to force people to do his killing for him. But I have no doubt that many of those McCain supporters ratcheting up their lies and spewing their hate will gladly grab up their guns and run to the frontlines. HR, Jose, News, Sportlock, Mikestone (aka HR) and all other war lovers get ready for the knock on your door. And don't complain when they do.

  • Posted By: Cloudosmoke @ 09/02/2008 12:58:51 PM

The majority of Bush's time in the White House has been focused on spending money for a war that was unwarranted. Bush has put so much money in other countries that it is pitiful. Bush has snubbed the military time and time again by refusing to supply them with the supplies and personnel needed to win this illegitimate war. The vets have not had substantial care because Bush and his Administration has turned its back on them. Soldiers are committing suicide because there is no care. All this and McCain has supported Bush 110% on all this. He has not once said he felt duped with the intelligence. He has not one time opposed the cover ups. McCain is a Bush lapdog dressed up in a puppet suit with cable strings costing the tax payer billions more to support. We are already paying the cost of his Georgian counterparts because he would assume create a new cold war with his illicit behaviour coupled with the missile defense deal Rice has orchestrated with Poland. To think that this man should be leader is crazy. But hey, it takes crazy people to do it.

I like my mushroom clouds orange with grey sprinkles on top.

  • Posted By: Cloudosmoke @ 09/02/2008 12:58:24 PM

These are McCain's words in 2002. For all of you that don't see through the mud that McCain slings, or all the lies that he has spewed, read it for yourself.

"I didn't decide to run for President to start a national crusade for the political reforms I believed in or to run campaign as if it was some grand act of patriotism.

I wanted to be President because it had become my ambition to become President.

I was 62 yold when I made the decision and I thought it was my one shot at the prize."

Again I say, McCain just wants the title, not the responsibilities.

  • Posted By: Cloudosmoke @ 09/02/2008 12:52:07 PM

McCain has flop flipped and flip flopped and flop flipped and flip flopped more times than can be counted among the stars.

'No off shore drilling... ok off shore drilling to win the election.'

'No to timetable in Iraq... ok as long as it gets me into office. We can stay there when I'm elected.'

'100 years in Iraq... ok 16 months like Obama said as long as I'm the one to be elected. I can go back on my word when I win.'

'I support pork barrel spending... oops, I meant I was against it as long as I'm elected to office.. wait I support it, I have a veep that benefited from it.'

'Bush is right all the time... No, Bush is wrong as long as I get to replace him.'

McCain, the same old politician. Nothing new, nothing different.

    Vote Change.
