The only losers are Obama and Biden!

Getting a tad testy aren't you?

Askplus - an observation: you commented that bdhotwheel was a bit testy for his 'loser's post, but you say nothing about post above it for Jurrk's remark calling Cindy McCain one of the demeaning, foulest names in the book.

Guess you missed that one, huh?

No, the'd actually have to see Jesus walk on water...yet they probably still would not believe. Yet they see Bama preach his Gospel and they follow like swine! Oooh Ahhhh...He is the Chosen One....Let us follow!

CNN) ??? Prominent Republican analysts Peggy Noonan and Mike Murphy became the latest victims of an open microphone Wednesday, caught after a segment on MSNBC trashing John McCain's pick of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin as his running mate.

Noonan, a Wall Street Journal columnist and former speechwriter for Ronald Reagan, and Murphy, a campaign strategist and onetime aide to John McCain, can both be heard expressing disbelief with the pick of Palin after they apparently thought they were in a commercial break.

???I come out of the blue swing-state governor world, Engler, Whitman, Thompson, Mitt Romney,??? Murphy said during the mishap which has since been posted on YouTube. Murphy later flatly says of the pick, "It's not going to work."

Noonan is heard going even further, saying of the presidential race, "It's over."

"I think they went for this ??? excuse me??? political bulls???t about narratives," Noonan also said. "Every time the Republicans do that, because that's not where they live and it's not what they're good at, they blow it."

Murphy, who was a senior adviser to John McCain's 2000 presidential bid, also adds, "You know what's really the worst thing about it? The greatness of McCain is no cynicism, and this is cynical."

Who will it be ladies and gentlemen? An American or a Citizen of the World? Who will it be? An American hero or a man who refers to America as the "white man's empire? A clear eyed realist or a naive radical? Who will it be? A patriot or a man who believes it is a fault to cling to guns and Bibles?" Who will honor our fallen at Arlington? A man who has always put his country first or a man who puts his race first? Who will it be? A man who stood up to his captors, or a man who accepts the aid of unrepentant terrorists? Who will it be? A man who will encourage enterprise and reward hard work or a man who will encourage further dependence on the government? Who will it be? A man who grew up breathing the pure air of Franklin, Washington, Hamilton, Lincoln, Roosevelt or a man who has been breathing the stench of Malcolm X, Fanon, Marcuse, Marx, Sartre, Carmichael, Garvey and drinking the poison of Reverend Wright?

Do you even know who Jose Marti is? What he stood for? Do you know that his fight for Cuban independence was as radical as it gets? I can tell you this: He would not agree with you that these people who use the Constitution as toilet paper are decent people who should rule the most powerful nation in the Americas.

Ms. Right was wrong tonight on several issues. For two: She was very much FOR that Bridge to Nowhere and for other earmarks that Sen. Stevens, her political champion, secured for Alaska. Then, when it became politically controversial, she decided to "turn down" the bridge. BUT. . . she kept the $400 million, thank you very much Lower 48! She got to balance the Alaska budget and send all Alaskans $1200 thanks to earmarks paid by U.S. taxpayers. Very principled, lady.

Secondly, Obama's tax plan will not impact most of the people in this country. According to Factcheck (on the right): Overall, the TPC found that Obama's plan would produce a tax cut for 81.3 percent of all households, and a cut for 95.5 percent of all households with children.

Repeating the canard that Obama will raise the taxes on middle class Americans will not make it so. In her opening night appearance, Gov.. Palin has shown herself willing to deal in half-truths and untruths and I think that opens her to whatever the Democratic Party or its surrogates waht to direct her way.

    • Posted By: neos @ 09/04/2008 12:25:41 AM

But on a positve note, Palin did get an A in mean-sprited mocking.

  • Posted By: chindognyc @ 09/03/2008 12:28:18 AM

Officials of the Alaskan Independence Party say that Palin was once so independent, she was once a member of their party, which, since the 1970s, has been pushing for a legal vote for Alaskans to decide whether or not residents of the 49th state can secede from the United States.

And while McCain's motto -- as seen in a new TV ad -- is "Country First," the AIP's motto is the exact opposite -- "Alaska First -- Alaska Always."

      Hi Chin,

Have you noticed that none of McCain supporters seem to have a problem with this fact. Obama has been labeled as anti-American because of the comments of Rev. Wright, yet they embrace and defend this organization.

      Interesting LOL!

      • Posted By: Skypoint @ 09/04/2008 12:11:31 AM

I have not seen anyone here defend or embrace the Alaskan Independence Party.

        • Posted By: Pia1981 @ 09/04/2008 12:22:53 AM

Neither have I, Sky. I would like to embrace you. Good night or is it good morning...

I can't believe Palin was trying to say she has experience. She just got her passport in 07, Cindy McCain said she is experienced because Russia is close to Alaska, and she still won't talk about the AIP, a party that hates America and she was a member. She has dogged McCain before being picked and she has used windfall profits to give back to the people of Alaska. The same thing that Obama said we need to do. Hill

    COMMITTEE ASSIGNMENTS:

Obama holds assignments on the Senate Committees for Foreign Relations; Health, Education, Labor and Pensions; Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs; and Veterans' Affairs, and he is a member of the Congressional Black Caucus.

    -------------------------
As a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Obama made official trips to Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

In August 2005, he traveled to Russia, Ukraine, and Azerbaijan. The trip focused on strategies to control the world's supply of conventional weapons, biological weapons, and weapons of mass destruction as a first defense against potential terrorist attacks.<61>

Following meetings with U.S. military in Kuwait and Iraq in January 2006, Obama visited Jordan, Israel, and the Palestinian territories. He left for his third official trip in August 2006, traveling to South Africa, Kenya, Djibouti, Ethiopia and Chad. In a nationally televised speech at the University of Nairobi, he spoke forcefully on the influence of ethnic rivalries and corruption in Kenya.

Obama worked with Russ Feingold (D???WI) to eliminate gifts of travel on corporate jets by lobbyists to members of Congress and require disclosure of bundled campaign contributions under the 'Honest Leadership and Open Government Act', which was signed into law in September 2007.

He joined Chuck Schumer (D-NY) in sponsoring S. 453, a bill to criminalize deceptive practices in federal elections, including fraudulent flyers and automated phone calls, as witnessed in the 2006 midterm elections. Obama also introduced the 'Iraq War De-Escalation Act', a bill to cap troop levels in Iraq, begin phased redeployment, and remove all combat brigades from Iraq before April 2008.<68>

Later in 2007, Obama sponsored with Kit Bond (R-MO) an amendment to the 2008 Defense Authorization Act adding safeguards for personality disorder military discharges, and calling for a review by the Government Accountability Office following reports that the procedure had been used inappropriately to reduce government costs. joined Chuck Hagel (R-NE) in introducing legislation to reduce risks of nuclear terrorism.A provision from the Obama-Hagel bill was passed by Congress in December 2007 as an amendment to the State-Foreign Operations appropriations bill.

Obama also sponsored a Senate amendment to the State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP) to provide one year of job protection for family members caring for soldiers with combat-related injuries. After passing both houses of Congress with bipartisan majorities, SCHIP was vetoed by President Bush in early October 2007, a move Obama said 'shows a callousness of priorities that is offensive to the ideals we hold as Americans

** First legislation, the HOPE Act, which increased Pell Grants to $5100, and later joined Senator Kennedy on the Higher Education legislation that passed July 20, by a vote of 78-18. That legislation also included funding for Predominantly Black Colleges to assist with counseling, tutoring and other needs of low income students. It also creates the Teaching Residency Act which will create a school-based teacher preparation program in high needs schools to provide each teacher with a mentor, content instruction, classroom management skills, a master???s degree and state certification, and a 2 year follow-up program.

**The Coburn-Obama Government Transparency Act of 2006
is an act that requires the full disclosure of all entities or organizations receiving federal funds beginning in fiscal year (FY) 2007 on a website maintained by the Office of Management and Budget.

**The Lugar-Obama Nuclear Non-proliferation and Conventional Weapons Threat Reduction Act
Authored by U.S. Sens. Dick Lugar (R-IN) and Barack Obama (D-IL), the Lugar-Obama initiative expands U.S. cooperation to destroy conventional weapons. It also expands the State Department's ability to detect and interdict weapons and materials of mass destruction. Signed into Law on January 11, 2007.

GREAT JOB, McCain....We salute the Republican party for having the nerve to put a WOMAN on the ticket..Just proves anothe POINT..the Republican party does not dismiss the IMPORTANCE OF WOMEN..whether it is in the home, the board room, or the WHITE HOUSE...The obvious choice of Hillary was totally rejected by Obama because he KNEW SHE WAS THE MORE QUALIFIED of the two...and Pelosi was pushing against Hillary because she loves one of the most important women in the Legislation and is on some kind of power trip..didn't want ANOTHER WOMAN, holding more power than she....Obama is a loser with a capital "L"...women are second class citizens and his message to Hillary made that perfectly clear to ALL women....He chose Biden because he's a BIG BAG OF AIR..who can speak for hours and NEVER say anything meaningful......PALIN HAS PROVEN THAT SHE CAN DO IT ALL!!!!

Not a gimmick, idiot. And she doesn't need them all. You and others like you are the only ones who are scared and desperate. You're doing everything you can to destroy Palin before she has a chance to make her case.

        You are so transparent.....

                And so she's pregnant...

                Something for you, AP...

"I got high for just the opposite effect, something that could push questions of who I was out of my mind, something that could flatten out the landscape of my heart, blur the edges of my memory. I had discovered that it didn't make any difference whether you smoked reefer in the white classmate's sparkling new van, or in the dorm room of some brother you'd met down at the gym, or on the beach with a couple of Hawaiian kids who had dropped out of school and now spent most of their time looking for an excuse to brawl. "

From Obama's book... he is referring to himself at age 17... the same age as Bristol Palin. How about we drop the hipocriscy...

The issue is not her 17 year old daughter's pregnancy, this could happen and does in many families. The issue is about Sarah Palin's hypocracy. She believes that neither sex education nor evolution should be taught in school, in this day and age. Also I read somewhere that Alaska has the highest rate of Clamidia.

I find it interesting that the rest of the bible thumping, hate anyone who doesn't look of believe as I do, Gay hating, book burners are so eagerly embrassing her. They are all just a bunch of hypocrites. i guess to keep Obama out for this moment in time teen preganancy is fine, underage drinking is fine and homosexuality is fine (I just looked at photo of Bristol and another girl looking as though they were about to tongue kiss). Just a bunch of Church Nazis and hypocrites.

So it's ok for this to happen to many families, but of course, not for the Palin family. (they're religious, and therefore flawless!) You read somewhere about the rate of clamidia in Alaska? lol. So she's responsible for that? And please, stop lumping everyone with an opposing view in with gay hating, book burning, church nazis and hypocrites. Not everyone thinks the way you do.

However, you missed the entire point.

Though 17 wasn't Obama's finest hour either, I'm sure his mother loved him. I guess she should have been right under his feet when he was making his mistakes, as you think Sarah Palin should be with her daughter.

                      1. So it's ok for this to happen to many families, but of course, not for the Palin family

**Is that what you read because it is definitely NOT what I wrote. My point is that ultra religous people seem to believe and make statements indicating that teen pregnancy, underage drinking and homosexuality are caused by bad parenting. They make it seem as though these are only the problems of liberals with their loose morals and disregard of " THEIR GOD'S" Will!

By the way she has attened a Pentecostal church for years. Pentecostals are generally characterized by a strict adherence to moral codes--no tobacco, no alcohol, no social dancing, no sex outside of marriage

                      2. You read somewhere about the rate of clamidia in Alaska? lol. So she's responsible for that?

**Of course she is not directly responsible for it, but I believe that by allowing sex education in the schools she would have contributed in better educating the young people in Alaska about the dangers of UNPRETECTED SEX! You have heard of AIDS, STDS, UNPLANNED PREGNANCIES etc.
                      ********************************************************************************

*****This is just a really stupid statement on your part as there is absolutely no way that you could have come to that conclusion from what I wrote. I couldn't care less if this woman worked, that is her choice and your issue!

So you and I interpret your post differently.

This is what you bring up, which had nothing to do with my original post... "I find it interesting that the rest of the bible thumping, hate anyone who doesn't look of believe as I do, Gay hating, book burners are so eagerly embrassing her. They are all just a bunch of hypocrites. i guess to keep Obama out for this moment in time teen preganancy is fine, underage drinking is fine and homosexuality is fine (I just looked at photo of Bristol and another girl looking as though they were about to tongue kiss). Of course, I misinterpreted everything. You didn't even insinuate, right? And you ask how I came to the conclusion that you thought she should be with her daughter... Well, yes, it was easy after watching you slam the hell out of her. At any rate, my point was that Obama went through a rough time with drugs and other problems at 17, and had a loving parent while doing so. And I don't blame his mother.

You and I couldn't be any further apart, so let's just agree to disagree on this one.

Well it seems the democrats are not happy with any thing and will go to the ends of the earth to discredit people. Sarah palin???s 17y/o daughter is pregnant but so is 2 million other unmarried teens in America! But because its Mrs. Palin???s kid that makes her a bad parent or not in touch with her children???. I guess all the other parents of the other 2 million are bad as well! But wait her husband got a d.u.i. 22 yrs ago and had an accident that caused some property damage so he???s an awful person according to the liberal democrats! It makes no difference that Joe biden is a long time big government spender all the while he claims to be a regular guy! He says I ride Amtrak everyday to work and home he fails to mention that that Amtrak ride costs 97 dollars a day! That???s about the amount of money that 25% Americans make day (they are the low income earners but before taxes they are considered middle class according to the government which is a bunch of bull in my opinion that???s at poverty level!) and he spends it on Amtrak yeah he a regular Joe! And barrack Obama well he???s no angel either he???s got some pretty bad bill???s hidden in his closet not to mention his admitted marijuana and cocaine use years ago but lets not talk about that says the liberal media lets talk about mr.palin???s d.u.i. Or the 17 y/o???s pregnancy this liberal bias in the media is getting a little aggravating but I think that the American people will see that this whole thing is leaning to far left and it will back fire in obama???s face costing him the chance at being the leader of the free world! It???s a shame that our election process has come to this! as you can see all the dirt being dug up is from the move-on.org idiots who wants those morons running the country they have obama in thier poket he's thier hand picked choice ! see mark's comment for proof !

Hey, why don't you ask yourself why was Sarah Palin a member of the Alaskan Indepandance.

  • Posted By: chindognyc @ 09/02/2008 2:51:56 PM

Hillary Clinton wanted to be Secretary of State. Obama hit back hard by letting Hillary Clinton know if she will get the position if he is President. Secretary of State is a much more powerful position than VP.

We interrupt this program for a message from President Obama: My fellow citizens of the world, our country was attacked again this morning. We mourn the loss of life including that of the unempathic young men who carried out the attack. Atlhough the attack could not be avoided, it was anticipated. Eight years of the Bush administration has led to considerable anger towards America. I fully understand the anger of these young men. It is the same anger that led to the recent riots in Philadelphia, Detroit, and Cleveland. I have instructed my Secretary of Homeland Defense, Mr. Kilpatrick, to increase security at all ports and airports. I have sent Vice President Biden on another mission to Iran. If nothing else the Iranians should get a good laugh out of him and be better disposed towards us. I want to reassure you my fellow citizens of the world that although we have suffered more than 50,000 dead, the Europeans still think well of us. Good night.

John McCain said, "I voted with the President (Bush) over 90% of the time, higher than a lot of even my Republican Colleagues."

John McCain has said, "I didn't decide to run for President to start a national crusade for the political reforms I believed in or to run campaign as if it was some grand act of patriotism.

I wanted to be President because it had become my ambition to become President.

I was 62 yold when I made the decision and I thought it was my one shot at the prize."

Again I say, McCain just wants the title, not the responsibilities.

You really believe that bush is responsible for everything bad in America? How sad. As I see it, I would vote bushes ways also. For one, we have not been attacked on American soil again. How quickly you forget 9/11. Everyone is sad and patriotic until things don't go exaclty the way they want them to. By having american soldiers over in Iraq fighting the terrorist, they stay off American soil. Do I believe everything bush has done is good, No. but He has kept the American people safe in this country. Besides the Dems have a Majority vote, How can you blame all wrong policies on Bush?

      • Posted By: Cloudosmoke @ 09/03/2008 11:30:36 AM

You are truly misguided. Bush has mislead the public on many issues from the War on Hussein to illegally wiretapping American citizens, to Abu Graib, to supplying guns and arms to rebel troops in Africa, to firing attoneys that opposed him, to the CIA leak. Scott McClellan, his closest confidant, exposed him for the lie he is.

I believe the Congress has done their job of approving Bush funds to continue this infamous war. The war was in Afghanistan and Pakistan. Iraq was a HW and Hussein round two 20 years in the making. It was a oil soaked in blood war. He didn't keep America safe when the planes crashed into the World Trade Centers. He hasn't kept it safe because the "mastermind" Bin Laden is still on the loose.

The Republican run Congress snubbed the military on their needs. The pentagon didn't disclose the shortcomings of the military to the run up of the civil war this illegal war caused. The Democratic Congress has given what the president has requested. It was the filibustering of Republicans that dampened the amount of help given to the military.

McCain is the same. He doesn't know the difference between Sunnis and Shias. He doesn't know the regions of the former Soviet Republic. McCain talks up points to bomb Iran, send Cigarettes to smoke them to death. Threaten Russia by throwing full support behind Georgia. McCain does not know peace, he does not know judgment, he does not know how to be a statesman, he does not know how to be President.

You have no argument to state why McCain would be good. He vetted Palin for a day. Her husband is treasonous for wanting to secede from the United States. Not only is Bush bad for America, the Republican party is bad for America.

Since you choose to bring it up lets hear it then. What has Obama done to make you believe he is qualified to handle it better. Oh that's right you can't becuase nothing exists. Obama would be the worst president in history. he is simply not qualified. And lets try this one on for size. Bush did what needed to be done he did not care who he offended because he believed in stopping terrorism. If having big brother listen to a few of my calls could have stopped 9/11 then I say bring it on. The problem with you thinking is that you are hiding behind rights that no longer apply to the general population. those rights were created during a time when americans took resposiblity for the security of there country with there life if necessary. no one cares anymore they simply care about what they can get.

          • Posted By: Cloudosmoke @ 09/03/2008 11:51:07 AM

Boo hoo. I have stated my case several times in other Newsweek blogs, look them up yourself. It's the GOP Convention. Ima bashin' today. Got no time for youse. Vote for more Bush if you want, you're just a glutton for punishment.

Obama has no plan. He is a rookie that will make rookie mistakes at America's cost. He hasn't a clue how to tackle the deficit, all he wants to do is tax, tax, tax. Before we know it, he will be the new mascot that takes the place of Uncle Sam. If these idiotic Liberals think that Obama will change this country for the better, they will get a big dose of reality when Obama taxes their companies and the rich. Then they go to the store to buy goods and they cannot afford it, they take more of their businesses to other countries, and give employees the middle finger when it comes to a wage increase! Then the Republican party will laugh their arses off and watch the Libs eat crow.

Do you really think that GWB could have stopped 9/11? Only by imposing martial law and completely removing our freedom IF his advisors (read puppet masters) had bothered to pay attention to the so called intelligence that may have been available. They have already tried to do that after the fact. 9/11 happened because of events in history that transpired beofre GWB, all way back to post WWI. Everything that has been bad that has happened in our country over the past 8 years, from an illegal election in 2000 to the recession (don't give me text book definitions, look out the window at reality) is the fault of mismanagement by the ENTIRE government effort (or lack thereof.), a government effor tteat we a steh voters approved. It is impossible to blame just one party, person or group, as they are all guilty of dereliction of duty. The biggest problem we have facing us is that no matter who wins this election for President, the situation will remain the same. As much as we may want to say, or even do say "this is it, this is all you got?" Nobody is willing to listen, nobody wants to hear. The vast majority of Americans are sheep and ostriches, just follow along or keep your heads in the sand. So when someone finally, REALLY says, "Hey. lets do this right." you all either say shut up, don't make waves, or ignore it. Try that on for the truth.

Oh but you forget. Osama still being alive and having enough money to pull off 9/11 is the fault of the Clinton administration. How is that for the truth. All these issues you are talking about were voted on by your majority votes. Looks like many dems thought it was the right thing to do also. Try that on for the truth..... Skallywag

          • Posted By: Skallywag @ 09/03/2008 2:25:01 PM

So we should blame the Clinton administration for 9/11? You are saying he should have ordered the an entire foreign family somehow removed from the picture so that there wouldn't be any money, or disgruntled family members to orchestrate 9/11 or any other terrorist activity. Again, point fingers at the other guy rather than see the big picture. The entire situation goes far beyond the Clinton Administration, even back to the actions and policies of the Nixon, Ford and Carter administrations.

You miss the point - we have no one to blame but ourselves for letting each administration in and then doing the wrong things that affect our future. We voted them in, they didn't just take over. You party goons are all the same, whether R or D; you scream liberal or conservative and poke and jab and try to make your guy look squeaky clean. Sorry, those of us who are not blinded by such smoke and mirror tactics see right through BOTH parties. It's easy to point fingers and try to place blame, but we as the voters have to accept responsibility for our actions too. If we are complacent and accept mediocre candidates, then we will have a mediocre government. If we are derelict then we will have to accept derelict government, as in the past 8 years. It is easy to vote only along your party lines. It is not easy to vote for the good of the country, even if you don't like the individual person. it requires understanding of national and international events and why they occur, as well as a certain amount of fortitude, honor, respect and devotion to country, rather than party. But I am just one voice whom people like you and MCC and BHO would want to be silenced, as I see the truth. But maybe others who read these posts will also see the truth of the matter and in the next election not vote for the popular candidate, but for the right candidate. THAT is the truth of the way it is.

According to a news report, a certain private school in Washington was recently faced with a unique problem. A number of 12-year-old girls were beginning to use lipstick and would put it on in the bathroom. That was fine, but after they put on their lipstick, they would press their lips to the mirror leaving dozens of little lip prints. Every night the maintenance man would remove them, and the next day the girls would put them back. Finally the principal decided that something had to be done. She called all the girls to the bathroom and met them there with the maintenance man. She explained that all these lip prints were causing a major problem for the custodian who had to clean the mirrors every night (you can just imagine the yawns from the little princesses). To demonstrate how difficult it had been to clean the mirrors, she asked the maintenance man to show the girls how much effort was required. He took out a long-handled squeegee, dipped it in the toilet, and cleaned the mirror with it. Since then, there have been no lip prints on the mirror. There are teachers ... and then there are educators . .
