MCCAIN and PALIN 08
CNN) ??? Prominent Republican analysts Peggy Noonan and Mike Murphy became the latest victims of an open microphone Wednesday, caught after a segment on MSNBC trashing John McCain's pick of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin as his running mate.
Noonan, a Wall Street Journal columnist and former speechwriter for Ronald Reagan, and Murphy, a campaign strategist and onetime aide to John McCain, can both be heard expressing disbelief with the pick of Palin after they apparently thought they were in a commercial break.
???I come out of the blue swing-state governor world, Engler, Whitman, Thompson, Mitt Romney,??? Murphy said during the mishap which has since been posted on YouTube. Murphy later flatly says of the pick, "It's not going to work."
Noonan is heard going even further, saying of the presidential race, "It's over."
"I think they went for this ??? excuse me??? political bulls???t about narratives," Noonan also said. "Every time the Republicans do that, because that's not where they live and it's not what they're good at, they blow it."
Murphy, who was a senior adviser to John McCain's 2000 presidential bid, also adds, "You know what's really the worst thing about it? The greatness of McCain is no cynicism, and this is cynical."
Ar they not like an old episode of Married With Children? Al and Peg Bundy? Right?
Funny LOL!
In a one-one-one interview with CBS' Katie Couric, Cindy McCain says she disagrees with Sarah Palin on abortion:
COURIC: Some, even Republicans seem surprised that Senator McCain picked a running mate who opposes abortion even in-- in the cases of rape and incest and believes creationism should be taught in schools. And I'm just curious, do you believe--or do you agree with that?
MCCAIN: What I agree with is the fact that she is a social conservative, she is a reform minded woman, she is someone that will shake the-- the-- Washington up, which is exactly what we wanna do. We differ on many issues, we differ with-- across the board with people. We don't have to agree on every issue.
COURIC: Abortion has suddenly become, again, a hot button issue, because of her--
MCCAIN: I think to you all it has--
COURIC: Well, I think probably, at least, it's reported that a lot of people are now talking about this. And I-- where do you stand on abortion?
MCCAIN: I'm pro-life, I'm on the record as being pro-life, like my husband.
COURIC: So, do you oppose it even in the cases of rape and incest?
MCCAIN: No.
COURIC: No? So, that's where you two differ--
MCCAIN: Uh-huh (AFFIRM).
The dollar is in the toilet, high energy prices, inflation, sagging economy, 2 wars, Russia is making noise again, yet all the pubbies wanna do is scream 'Baby Killers!'

Really? All of them? Every single last one? All the pubbies? You mean not even one is not screaming 'Baby Killers"?
Where did you get your information, genius? I don't see anyone doing that.
It is not the federal government's jurisdiction to decide whether a woman has an abortion in ANY case. The government may decide not to fund such procedures at government clinics, but that choice is for the PARENTS alone. The constitution established that the states would have jurisdiction over many of these issues. Add to that, because pro-life is a religious idea, if the federal governement were to make a law against abortion that would clearly show the governemtn endorsing one religious belief over another. So much for seperation of church and state...
I BELIEVE IN A WOMAN'S RIGHT AND REGARDING A MOTHER & UNDERAGE DAUGHTER, WHAT TO CHOOSE...
NOTHNG MORE NOTHING LESS.
BUT IF YOU SAY ...
"MY HUSBAND IS PRO-LIFE & I'M PRO-LIFE"
YOU MUST BE 100% LIKE PALEN.
BUT I DO KNOW MCCAIN IS FOR ABORTIONS IN THE CASE OF 1. RAPE 2. INCEST & 3. THE MOTHER'S LIFE IS THREATENED !!!
AND THESE CASES HAVE NO TERM LIMITS AS WELL.
YET LAST NIGHT, THOMPSON IS ON THE STAGE SPOUTING "OBAMA BELIEVES IN KILLING BABIES"
ITS THE MOTHERS RGHT TO CHOOSE AND NO PRESIDENT CAN GO INTO YOUR HOME AND DEMAND OTHERWISE.
GEORGE W. BUSH JR. IS A "PRO-CHOICE PRESIDENT"
NOW...DEAL WITH THAT !!!

When George W. Bush was running for his second term as governor of Texas, he ran a TV ad produced by Carl Rove???s office in which he said, "Single unwed mothers are responsible for the moral decline of our society." As a single unwed mother, I was offended. Today Republicans are referring to Sarah Palin???s daughter???s choice to go that route as heroic. What changed? When did it change? Was it over Labor Day weekend?
Why is Palin not ready to be VP? Because in July she needed someone to tell her what the VP does!!!!
Why is this a big deal? Because she would be a heart beat away from becoming President, one of the jobs of the VP.
You're right... she has about the same level of experience as Obama, only she's not running for president. In the unlikely event she would have to take over early on, she would do what Obama has done, and bring in a VP with more experience than herself!
Um Obama had enough experience to be right about the Iraq war. Obama knows where Iran is. That's more then McCain can say.
Obama has been to D.C. and been involved in national issues, Palin hasn't even been on a tour of the White House.
He was right? That's your opinion, and you're entitled to it. Others disagree. If you want to start up with McCain's gaffes, by all means, go ahead... there's plenty available both sides have made that we can waste time with. Yes, Obama worked hard for his degree and is a senator. Palin worked hard for her's and is a govenor. For the most part, they're on equal ground.
Harvard? Univ. of Idaho?
Even?
And the difference would be???
Both are universities. Both are accredited. One costs more and has a bigger "name". Neither of which makes any significant difference. And I could care less about Obama having a degree in law. The last lawyer we had in the White House was disbarred.
What are the chances that his kids are going to be HS drop outs though?
They might be Bush-ish or Kennedy-ish, but they'll finish. And there is more than name recognition between the two schools.
read my comment about the AIP below.
Read my comment about the Rev. Wright and William Ayres below.
Point made, yet you seem to defend and embrace her and her familiy's association with this organization!
Where did you see that? In fact, if you read my post, you would see I called the AIP what I think it is - a worthless organization.
MCCAIN and PALIN 08
What are you going to do when they lose?
You mean when OsamaBinBiden lose?
How could you be that base, mean and discriminatory and form opinions?
Sorry, but their names are so close that I had to tie it in.
Wall Street Journal columnist and former Reagan speechwriter Peggy Noonan and former John McCain adviser, Time columnist, and MSNBC contributor Mike Murphy were caught on tape disparaging John McCain's selection of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin as his Vice Presidential running mate.
"It's over," Noonan said.
When Chuck Todd asked her if this was the most qualified woman the Republicans could nominate, Noonan responded, "The most qualified? No. I think they went for this, excuse me, political bullshit about narratives. Every time the Republicans do that, because that's not where they live and that's not what they're good at, they blow it."
Murphy characterized the choices as "cynical" and "gimmicky."
Founder Of Group Palin Courted Professed "Hatred For The American Government"; Cursed "Damn Flag"
Big Note: Palin's husband, Todd Palin, was a member of the party from 1995-2002 with a brief exception in 2000. Earlier the AP was told that Sarah Palin was Member, but recently said, she was WRONG and that they can't FIND her Membership, but as RECENT as Sunday, this Organization, says she was, in fact a member ...Sounds like alaskan Cover Up.
Still, she's attended Meetings and Sent Video of Support for this "Alaska 1st Group"
A Bunch of Seccessionist, who can't stand being a part of the USA and wanting to be a Soveriegn Nation of it's own.

By Greg Sargent - September 2, 2008, 6:10PM
The founder of the Alaska Independence Party -- a group that has been courted over the years by Sarah Palin, and one her husband was a member of for roughly seven years -- once professed his "hatred for the American government" and cursed the American flag as a "damn flag."
The AIP founder, Joe Vogler, made the comments in 1991, in an interview that's now housed at the Oral History Program in the Rasmuson Library at the University of Alaska, Fairbanks.
"The fires of hell are frozen glaciers compared to my hatred for the American government," Vogler said in the interview, in which he talked extensively about his desire for Alaskan secession, the key goal of the AIP.
"And I won't be buried under their damn flag," Vogler continued in the interview, which also touched on his disappointment with the American judicial system. "I'll be buried in Dawson. And when Alaska is an independent nation they can bring my bones home."
At another point, Volger advocated renouncing allegiance to the United States. In the course of denouncing Federal regulation over land, he said:
"And then you get mad. And you say, the hell with them. And you renounce allegiance, and you pledge your efforts, your effects, your honor, your life to Alaska."
Palin has courted the group over the years.
3 years after the controversial interview, in 1994, Palin attended the group's annual convention, according to witnesses who spoke to ABC News' Jake Tapper. The McCain campaign is disputing her presence there, but Tapper found two people to attest to it.
The McCain campaign today produced Palin's voting registration records, and said they proved she was never a member of the party.
But she has repeatedly reached out to the group. The McCain campaign has confirmed she visited the group's 2000 convention, and she addressed its convention this year, as an incumbent governor whose oath of office includes upholding the Constitution of the United States.
Palin's husband, Todd Palin, was a member of the party from 1995-2002 with a brief exception in 2000.
It's worth noting that Vogler isn't just some figure from ancient history. He is still being hailed on AIP's site thi
Funny they jumped all over Obama for what his pastor said about America, yet they have absolutely no problem and actually embrace and defend the fact that Palin and her Husband were part of this group.
HYPOCRITES AND SOMETHING ELSE!
Hypocrites?
How about two High school drop-out teenagers getting married? Could you imagine what would happen if Mr. Obama's kids were not in school? What would the right-wing say about that? If you want to talk issue hypocrisy, how come the McCain camp talks about rhetoric and ignore their own lack of substance? On every level, with every plan, the experts agree with Mr. Obama. This means, Health care, economy, energy and foreign policy.
Hi Ask,
Yes those would fall under SOMETHING ELSE! Certain issues are only problems when they are associated with Obama. How typical.
Public Safety Commissioner dismissal
Main article: Alaska Public Safety Commissioner dismissal
On July 11, 2008, Palin dismissed Public Safety Commissioner Walter Monegan, citing performance-related issues.[79] She then offered him an alternative position as executive director of the state Alcoholic Beverage Control Board, which he turned down.[80][81] Monegan alleged that his dismissal was retaliation for his failure to fire Palin???s former brother-in-law, Alaska State Trooper Mike Wooten, who was involved in a child custody battle with Palin???s sister, Molly McCann.[82][83] He further alleged that contacts made by Palin herself, her staff, and her family had constituted inappropriate pressure to fire Wooten.[82][83]
Initially, Palin denied that there had been any such pressure, either from her or from anyone else in her administration.[84] After she had the Attorney General's office conduct an internal investigation, Palin revealed that her staff had contacted Monegan or his staff about two dozen times regarding Wooten.[85] Palin stated that most of those calls were made without her knowledge, and reiterated that she did not fire Monegan because of Wooten.[82][86]
Palin's choice to replace Monegan, Charles M. Kopp, chief of the Kenai police department, took the position on July 11, 2008. He resigned on July 25 after it was revealed that he had received a letter of reprimand for sexual harrassment in his previous position.[
Let us salute McCain's choice of Palin with a contribution to his campaign.
Help the poor oil Barons of the world. Contribute today.
AP, what is that suppposed to mean? Palin took on corruption with big oil in Alaska as well as members of both politcal parties...
Here you are Mr. Skypoint:

http://www.presstv.com/detail.aspx?id=67981§ionid=3510303
There needs to be more transparency there. While not directly involved after shifting her position - which people can and should do - her relation to big oil is still a bit sticky (pun intended).
Thanks Ms. AP! lol...
No one can entirely handle corruption at that level, though I think she's taken as good as stab at it as anyone could....
http://www.theconservativevoice.com/ap/article.html?mi=D92VAJBO2&apc=9008
We can pass each other biased links all day... but I will argue that at she's has tried. Way more than the "dip stick" (pun intended) that she replaced! lol
Class warfare won't work. I came to this country at age 10. My father worked for 20 years at a steel mill. He did not make much money, but it was enought to give us a good education. I graduated from college. Now I am working to give my kids the opportunities they did not have. What has our support of the Democratic Party done for the Hispanic Community. Come to Chicago where Hispanics have been kissing the fondillo of a corrupt tyranical Irish politician for more than 20 years. Where has it gotten us? Most of our children don't even finish high school. Our neighborhoods are gang infested. Come to Chicago. Who are out leaders? Sycophants who rubber stamp Daley's decisions. Oil Barons you say. I worry more about the Daleys, and Kilpatricks, and Elliot Spitzers, and Mayor Youngs of the world. Come to Detroit and see what a nice job these robber thugs have done.
I notice Gov. Palin states that she has stood up to the oil companies. What was she referring to?
She's refering to the 4,500 dollars she took from big oil when she was not in power - in order to put her in power. Then she organized the lobbyist to get more, then she decided to go against it.
Palin is a former beauty queen. Mystery solved!
Now the question becomes how long after (IF) McCain becomes president will he leave that 'trollop' & 'c***' wife of his for his latest flavor of the week?
She is ok
Just because Palin has a vagina does not make her pro-female. Aside from the fact that she has limited experience and unimpressive scholarly background, Palin has five children - four of whom are still under her roof - and she's taking on a position that is going to be 100 percent consumming. While many working women would be just trying to reacclimate after maternity leave, focused on early intervention for their Down's Syndrome baby, getting their 8 year old settled into 3rd grade when reading skills are so critical and "mean girls" start to emerge, ensuring their 14 year old is prescribed for the Pill and their pregnant 17 year old is still focused on her studies, Palin will be spending every waking moment traveling the country and being prepped on national and international topics. While I will never agree with her politics, I would admire Palin a whole lot more if she had suggested that the Republicans check in on her in 2012. The women whom I admire most would be looking for ways to lessen their professional commitments so they could focus more on their family's significant needs. It seems that Palin is doing exactly the opposite - while at the same time bragging about her stance as a hockey mom - just so she can help McCain prove that he is a Maverick. It's appalling and shocking to me that all those stay-at-home Republican woman find this acceptable.
Look who's talking, you Democrat that uses food stamps and still wants the government to pay for your cable. Why should America give you anything. Get off your lazy liberal butt and do something with your life. It's not like this is Ethiopia or Iraq where your options are limited. A vote for Obama is a vote against America and for the Liberal agenda.
Remember that if it weren't for Bush's pitiful tactics, throwing Generals under the bus, underestimating the enemy, Blackwater issue, killing innocent people (which infuriated the local tribes to civil war) the surge would never have been needed. As a matter of fact, the war was never needed in the first place as Mr. Obama never voted for it because he knew Afghanistan was where the spear needed to be pointed. Remember "Mission Accomplished"? Well it still hasn't been accomplished and yet Maliki is saying we're ready to do this, so you can go now. There is a war on terror and Iraq is saying that we can now focus our efforts on the areas that really need it. Afghanistan is worse off than Iraq and yet Bush is getting off scott free. He has bungled all the operations to the point that Petraeus is probably glad see him go.
I'm voting for Obama because he is about change in how Washington and the country shall be governed. McCain supported Bush policy and now backs away because he has to, not because he wants to. He has shunned the VA centers, PTSD programs because he was not there or he didn't fully understand them. Just look at his voting record. He couldn't even remember about the birth control question. As for the "one party rule" it's been that way up until 2006 and that was awful but then it was GOP run. I'm sure we can turn things around.
A private attorney is authorized to spend $95,000 of state money to defend her against accusations of abuse of power.
Palin sought pork-barrel projects for her city and state, contrary to her reformist image.
Her husband once belonged to a fringe political group in Alaska, with some members supporting secession from the United States.
She has acknowledged smoking marijuana in the past.
MCCAIN and PALIN 08
Wow, just wow. Your reporters sure missed the story here. Your flattering (and uncritical) report of the reform-minded hockey mom seems hugely dated now that we have learned about then Mayor and now Gov. Palin's fondness for earmarks, her allegiance with Ted Stevens, and her complicated personal life. Hope you'll be posting a more balanced follow up PDQ.
Given the lower IQ and lack of education associated with the majority of GOP voters, the selection of Palin will do little to dissuade them from "staying the course". However, for this independent voter and many others this choice really gives us pause for thought. Think about it, just 20 months ago this person was the Mayor of Wasilla City, pop. 5,500 (and maybe some bears and caribou thrown in for good measure). I can think of a few municipalities in the US that can provide a greater degree of executive-level experience than that offered by Wasilla City (from Austin to Tallahassee). She is also extremely conservative, even on issues of concern to women such as the right to choose, birth control and gender equity on equal pay between men and women for performing the same jobs. In short, she is no Hillary. Do I want the Mayor of Wasilla City a heartbeat away from being my next President if the old guy (he turns 73 next August) keels over? Any voter, man or woman, would be pretty crazy to vote for such a ticket given the risks involved and it says a great deal about McCain's lack of good judgment on making important decisions.
Given the lower IQ and lack of education associated with the majority of GOP voters
**************************************
This type of generalization is unnecessary and inaccurate.
Au contraire (egad, he used foreign language words, is he a Commie?), the truth hurts, look at the inhabitants of those Red states that vote Republican against their own class and personal interests. They allow themselves to be distracted by a virulent form of Christianity and mindless adherence to a cloth flag symbol (rather than asking themselves what that flag truly represents, both good and bad), hence they suffer from lower IQ and/or lack of education.
And it's funny that a Mexican like josemarti would even be talking about American politics and can't even vote. Why don't you worry about the corruption in Mexico and quit using negative slurs against Obama. You still can't talk about Sarah Palin and her husband being a member of the AIP......a group that hates America.
"You still can't talk about Sarah Palin and her husband being a member of the AIP......a group that hates America."
Any proof Gov. Palin was ever a registered member of the AIP? No. However she does have documentation that she's been a registered republican since 1982.
http://hotair.cachefly.net/images/2008-09/palin-voting.pdf
You mentioned her association with a group that hates America. Funny, you don't mention your candidate, who was a member of a racist, "God Damn America" church for 20 years, and his association with an unrepentant, American hating domestic terrorist. Guess that slipped your mind. You're ever so eager though to slap the label of America Hater on Gov. Palin.
Still can't prove that Obama hates America. She was a Republican who went to a convention for the AIP and praised the party and said that she believe in an independent Alaska. Slam dunk. You don't say things like that if you love America.
Slam dunk? lol.... Well, at least you're halfway there... she was never a member of the AIP. Look, I wasn't there and neither were you. Any involvement that may or may not have happened was thirty years ago. But the point I made in my post was this: You've brought the AIP up several times... You're so eager to hang the label of America hater on Palin because of a possible one time meeting with them.
However, you conveniently pass over Obama's long time association with racist Wright and American hating terrorist William Ayres. You're answer? You can't prove Obama hates America. I'm not trying to prove it. I'm showing you how one-sided your argument is.
And by the way, you can't prove Sarah Palin hates America either.
You have been dissing Obama and this Rev. Wright and Bill Ayers. Thats all you have. Sarah Palin will bring this young African-American boy to the convention to be exposed. Wrong move. The AIP said she was a member at one time. She was at their convention and she did a video broadcast thanking them for their service to Alaska. She also said that it would be great to be an independent Alaska. What more do you want. They wanted no part of the U.S.
That's all I have? lol! It's the exact same thing you have! And I haven't dissed anyone, other than your hipocritical posts. I'm simply making a comparison based on your flimsy attack of Gov. Palin.
You have no proof, but wow... the AIP said so, so it must be true! Suddenly, you give this worthless organization that hates America credibility!
But you keep missing the point... you claim because Palin sat in one meeting almost thirty years ago that she must hate America! But the same thing can't be said about Obama and his participation with a racist pastor that slammed America for over 20 years, or his relationship with American hating terrorist William Ayres! Your blatant hypocrisy is astounding!
In the end, neither of these candidates hate America, but the nonsense you generate about one will certainly generate it for the other. So go find some real issues... they're out there, you know.
Also, members of the AIP said in order for their cause to spread, they have to go into the political community. I guess Palin hit the jackpot.
