Governor Palin. Where have you been all our lives? Not even the ancient Greeks could imagine that the qualities. Athena and Aphrodite could be united in one person.

Has any of Palin's supporter consider how she would go toe to toe with some of the world's leader i.e. Russia's Putin, China's Hu or King Abdullah of Saudia Arabia? These are very powerful who come from male chuvanistic society. They might not be able to get over her resume as a Beauty Queen (Runner Up) and take her seriously. Two of the three have nukes and the other one wants it. Maybe some thinks this is unfair in that it assumes no woman and do the job. This is not so. Condee Rice came from an academic background. Hillary is a U.S. Senator and has a track record. Ms. Palin has been a mayor of a small town/small state population for the most of her political career. I don't want to get into the debate of her qualification vs. Obama's. We've already seen how world leaders greeted Obama. The point I'm trying to make is that Ms. Palin is starting out at a disadvantage.

Not to promote her, but she's probably more accurate with an AK-47 than Putin.

    Palin is a traitor!
Palin is a member of the ANTI-AMERICAN Alaska Independence Party. Palin wants Alaska to secede from the USA, you don't get any more UNPATRIOTIC than that.
The AIP's slogan is not "Country First", but rather "Alaska First-Alaska Always".

      Traitor? Prove it.

Stop your nonsensical lieing bs and get your facts straight.. Palin is not a member of the AIP.

Traitor? It should tell you something when terrorist organizations and enemies of America want someone to be elected. That is what scares me. I would rather have someone that they fear instead of support. How about the anti-american preaching that Obama has heard for the last 20 years, until these last months when it was exposed. He claims he never heard anything negative from the pastor, but how can that be so. This guy was obamas spiritual mentor and baptized his daughters. You think this was just a random sermon were he says "Damn America"? I truly don't believe that. I hope the truth comes out on both Palin and Obama. I believe Palin but we will see.

Bush has a VP that shoots Lawyers, Can't Mccain have a VP that shoots things too?

  • Posted By: elvisfan @ 09/03/2008 10:22:13 AM

Did you say the VP nominee was driving herself and texting on her Blackberry at the same time? Isn't that dangerous? Doesn't that show a basic lack of common sense? Just wondering.

Now we find out that Palin was a BOOK-BANNER! According to Ann Kilkenny, a Democrat who said she attended every City Council meeting in Ms. Palin???s first year in office, Ms. Palin brought up the idea of banning some books (from the local library) at one meeting. ???They were somehow morally or socially objectionable to her.??? Folks, what are we letting ourselves in for when we consider a book-burner for the vice-president of the U.S.? Many people think that Bush is reactionary, but Palin shows even less respect for our Constitution!

Note: The surprises, however, continued Monday when it was revealed that Palin's 17-year-old daughter was pregnant, that the governor had hired a lawyer to defend her in an ethics investigation, that she attended meetings of a fringe party calling for Alaskan independence and that her husband had been arrested for drunken driving.

Big Note: Ms. Clark said that Ms. Palin???s Husband, Todd, was a Former Member of the Party.

Big Note: After checking the party???s archives, Ms. Clark said that she could find no documentation that Governor Palin had been a member of the party.

She said Ms. Palin ATTENDED the party???s 1994 and 2006 Conventions and provided a Video-Taped Address as governor to the 2008 convention

You were surprised, sure. But what about McCain?

Alaska Party Official Says Palin Was Not a Member
    By The New York Times

The chairwoman of an Alaskan political party that advocates a vote on the state???s succession from the union said Tuesday that she had been mistaken when she said Gov. Sarah Palin was a member of the group.

A front-page story in The New York Times on Tuesday and articles in other news media reported that Ms. Palin was a member of the Alaska Independence Party for two years in the 1990???s.

Big Note: The information in the Times article was based on a statement issued Monday night by Lynette Clark, the party???s chairwoman, who said that Ms. Palin joined the party in 1994 and in 1996 changed her registration to Republican.

On Tuesday night, Ms. Clark said that her initial statement was incorrect and had been based on erroneous information provided by another member of the party whom she declined to identify. The McCain campaign also disputed the Times report, saying that Ms. Palin had been registered consistently as a Republican.

Can someone please inform me on legislation Obama has brought forth regarding the Iraq war, or anything resembling work that he himself has initiated working in congress. Also, with all tjhe talk of vetting, did anyone vet Obama?, Seems like there would be somone more qualified, more experienced, and better prepared from the democratic side. Other than a "speech", which he is very good at by the way, wouldn't we be better prepared for the future with somone who has experience at writing legislation and actually passing it thru into law. Please do some research and not waste your vote on a community organizer, and please explain how that qualifies someone for the Presidency as well.

Septuagenarian McCain???s choice of a young and energetic beauty queen as the VP candidate may not come as a surprise. This is the dynamic of smart politics.

Never mind what background or family problems Pailn may have, the fact could well be that Americans would have to be prepared for the eventuality of witnessing a lady in charge of the White House in the not so distant future.

But, should that not be wonderful for the Women Lib movement?

She does not believe in evolution and believes that if global warming is real it is because it is God's will, not something man made. Will she be consulting her Bible to see what is supposed to come next to make her decisions?

    • Posted By: thehappyamerican @ 09/02/2008 11:48:45 PM

One thing she does not do! Wage a discrimination campaign again christians, firearms owners, achievers, military experts and police... like the DNC and Obama do.
Got some more jokes as Obamas' campaign fizzles, DNC members clash with police, YOU make fun of Christianity, Obama refuses to visit wounded service members?
America is a great country! Americans are fantastic people! Only the DNC has an Americans Suck First campaign. It's composed of several discrimination campaigns against the Americans who make this country great!

Oh my god the RNC is so boring. Lieberman the fakest man in America is mad at the Democrats. Oh wait, Lieberman just messed up. He is talking about Global Warming. The Republicans don't believe in Global Warming.

    • Posted By: thehappyamerican @ 09/02/2008 11:39:35 PM

republicans don't believe humans cause it....there's a difference.Don't look now but the Europeans are coming around to regard the human connection to Global warming as a bit out there. And an allegation by the likes of Al Gore.
The climate has been going up and down for millions of years and will continue to...and theres nothing Human can do to stop it.

Sarah Palin mixes politics with Church and we all know, it never works.

  • Posted By: chindognyc @ 09/02/2008 11:32:51 PM

In addition to talking about Iraq, Palin also referred to God's role in her work as governor.

???I can do my part in working really, really hard to get a natural gas pipeline, about a $30 billion project that's going to create a lot of jobs for Alaska. ??? [but] I think God's will has to be done in unifying people and companies to get that gas line built, so pray for that,??? she said. ???I can do my job there in developing our natural resources, in doing things like getting the roads paved and making sure our troopers have their cop cars and their uniforms and their guns, and making sure our public schools are funded. But really that stuff doesn't do any good if the people of Alaska's hearts aren't right with God.???

It wasn't all serious, though. At one point during the address, Palin praised the graduating class as ???a bunch of cool-looking Christians.??? Then she picked out one student in the crowd and said with a smile, ???Ben, I don't know you well enough yet, but looking at you, I'm thinking, people are going to interested in Jesus Christ through you because of the way you look - this red-headed Sasquatch for Jesus. You look good!??? The students cheered. ???Times are really changin'. And with the times that change, looks even change.???

As questions have been raised over how thoroughly Sen. John McCain's presidential campaign vetted Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin for the V.P. slot, it seems the McCain campaign was unaware of a video -- available online -- in which Palin talks about God's role in U.S. military action overseas, according to a political operative familiar with the situation.

The video, first reported by the liberal blog HuffingtonPost.com, is from a June Palin speech to the graduating class of commission students at Palin's former church in Wasilla, Alaska. While describing her family, Palin told students about her oldest son, 19-year-old Track, who is set to be deployed to Iraq this month with the U.S. Army. She urged students to pray ???that our leaders -- that our national leaders -- are sending [soldiers] out on a task that is from God.???

She added, ???That's what we have to make sure that we are praying for: that there is a plan and that that plan is God's plan.???

???It's pretty uncomfortable stuff,??? said the political operative, after watching the video online. ???It's bad. It's really bad. ??? It's going to be interesting to see how this plays out.???

This is worse than a "Hail Mary" pass!!!!

    What a bunch of clowns!!!

One question is, how much does Governor Palin's family make per year from Alaska's oil rebate to its citizens? Is her intent that the amount which goes to Alaska's citizen should increase? As the McCain-Palin ticket is in favor of increasing oil production at either ANWR (for Palin) or off-shore (for McCain), who will profit? The oild industry, the states which are lucky enough to have oil, or the country as a whole?

McCain said that because Sarah Palin was a member of the PTA, this proves that she is ready to be President. Oh my god.

Hey azz, this is what McCain said. Before she was a Gov. she was a PTA member. McCain said that because she was a PTA member, she proves she is ready to be President. The idiot is McCain and you.

So he was impressed with her work there... are you so ignorant that he actually believed that was her only qualification for VP? Stop grasping at straws, DA.
