    ABOUT SARAH PALIN:

    http://webpages.charter.net/suasponte/

If you really want to know Sarah Palin's history (in detail) this is a "must read". It was written by Anne Kilkenny, a resident of Wasilla, Alaska.

Democratic leadership under Barack Obama wanted to cut and run in Iraq now today and just before our successful surge, just as Democratic leadership wanted to cut and run in Vietnam before our 1200 POWs came home in 1973. John McCain realizes he would not be here today if the Democratic leadership had their way back in 1972. Because he spent early years in Indonesia, Barack Obama may not be the Democratic Presidential candidate today but for our efforts in Vietnam in 1972. Richard Nixon a former Navy officer who served before John McCain years in the Navy understood that North Vietnam never returned any of the captured French POWs after their defeat at Dien Bien Phu in 1954. Only the week long bombings of Hanoi including Christmas day in 1972 with our B52 bombers finally convinced North Vietnam that we wanted our 1200 POWs back now. The bombings also convinced the South Vietnamese that we would support them in the future under the Paris Peace Talks agreement. Although the United States lost in Vietnam are efforts there gave other countries time to develop their fragile democracies. Indonesia today is a democratic country today that is friendly to the United States and has a population of nearly two hundred million people, the fourth largest in the world. Barack Obama spent his early childhood in Indonesia attending school with his mother and step-father during the time of the Vietnam War. It has been reported that the former President of Indonesia stated that our efforts in Vietnam although we lost allowed Indonesia to fight off communism and develop as a democratic country. Our efforts in Vietnam bought Indonesia time. Barack Obama could have been caught up in a communist insurrection in Indonesia during his early childhood if the United States had cut and run and had not tried to slow or stop a rapid North Vietnam takeover of South Vietnam. All of Southeast Asia including Indonesia could have rapidly gone Communist if the United States did not at least make a stand to resist the rapid expansion of communism and stand by our ally South Vietnam. Ironicallly both John McCain and Barack Obama would not be the men they are today and John McCain would not be here if we had followed Democratic leadership to cut and run in Vietnam before our POWs were returned.

Some Democratic leaders including Obama but not Joe Leiberman have asked what have we accomplished in Iraq? John McCain was right in his support for the Iraq surge. Iraq today is in relative peace and is no longer hostile to the United States. Iraq is currently producing two and a half million barrels of oil a day and is capable of producing four and half million barrels a day. At $120 one hundred and twenty dollars a barrel Iraq has current oil revenues of $300 three hundred million dollars a day. Those revenues can grow to $500 million dollars a day with increased production. Thanks to the John McCain support of the war and the surge $300 million dollars a day are not being funneled to enemies of the United States to support terrorism around the world and to buy missiles and nuclear weapons that can be used against the United States. With an income stream of three hundred million dollars a day, Iraq was capable of purchasing hundreds of nuclear weapons. Our current progress with North Korea on nuclear issues is a result of cutting off the money flow and purchase of missiles and nuclear technology from North Korea to Iraq.

How extremely hypocritcal I find it when reported that the republicans were SO CONCERNED about hurricane Gustav and its outcome they delayed their convention opening. CORRECTION: why all of the SUDDEN concern over a new storm when various parts of the gulf coast region still languish in dire disrepair? If a sitting republican president and his wannbe grandson republican nominee haven't cared about the past, HOW COULD THEY POSSIBLY BE CONCERNED ABOUT A VERY PRESENT DANGER TO THE HAVE NOTS? Enough of this tear jerking from the repulsive-acans. They CARED ABOUT THE PEOPLE CAUGHT UP IN THE STORM ABOUT AS MUCH AS THEY CARED ABOUT BOMBING INNOCENT IRAQIS. Tell your LIES to someone who was only born THIS MORNING!!!!!!

Has anyone noticed the difference in composition of those delegates actually attending the RNC and DNC conventions? The RNC version appears to be over 90% white and wealthy-attired. The DNC version seemed to have people from every color and background. The contrast is startling to me. One version seems to show our presnt and future, the other is a throwback to the past.

They are also better behaved Jeremy. Those people with the ''lower IQ''are actually leftwinged protesters, who exhibited their intelligence immediately by smashing windows, overturning vehicles, assaulting police officers, Cub Scouts,[of all people ,who were on their way to the XCEL Center when they were mobbed],as well as dropping heavy sandbags from freeway overpasses onto buses, which is an attempted murder violation under Minnesota state laws.

Another biased and slanted article that we have come to expect from Newsweak. Well at least the blogs are back up now. I think one of 2 things happened this weekend. The excitement over Palin was obvious when these blogs lit up after the announcement of Palin on Friday. Either the volume of blogs crashed the Newweek blogs or Newsweek shut them down in order to muzzle the bloggers that were posting pro-Palin posts. Either way the excitement has not stopped.

And you have a degree(s) in ?? You are no doubt a republican. Your "nominee" (for lack of something more apropos) was coerced into making a snap selection for a running mate and YOU lack the intelligence or wherewithal to comprehend it. JUST HOW LONG WERE YOU IN THE 5th GRADE OR ARE YOU STILL THERE?

If joy girl palin HAS executive experience as a result of the governorship of Alaska (stinted at best) and Senator Obama hasn't any due to him being a US Senator for four (4) years, than common sense dictates that mcain doesn't have EXPERIENCE either since he too has been an US Senator for 25/26 ywears. He was in the military in a non-commarder role, then a member of the US house and then on to the senate. At what point in his life did he achieve EXECUTIVE EXPERIENCE? Being he and SAenator Aboma are both sitting senators, just WHERE did mccain acquire executive experience, similar to his granddaughter palin?

Americans please read Obama's autobiography: Dreams from My Father. If you don't have time to read it, then buy the book on CD and listen to it on your way to work. Share it with your neighbors. It is the best window into his soul. It is also the best window into his ideological roots. Not Franklin. Not Payne. Not Jefferson. Not Adams. Not Smith. Not Mills. Not Tocqueville Not Lincoln. Not even MLK, but rather Malcolm X, Fanon, Carmichael, DuBois, Ellison, Garvey, Wright, Marcuse, Sartre, and Marx.

josemarti: WHEN READING A BOOK OR ANY PRINTED MATERIAL, ONE IS SUPPOSED TO READ IT "RIGHT SIDE UP"!!!! DO THE FOLLOWING: TURN SENATOR OBAMA'S BOOK 180 DEGREES AND READ IT FROM FRONT TO BACK. OF COURSE, YOU MAY HAVE TO TAKE A REMEDIAL COURSE IN READING FIRST. GOOD LUCK LOSER!!!!!!!

.......................This is going to be quite a laugh at the Republican National Convention when they try to cover up all of the negatives that have been revealed about Sarah Palin in the past few days and they try to sell us that John McCain made just a wonderful choice in Palin when he took her over all of the other available Republicans in the U.S........both male and female. This is among the worst political blunders in the past 50 years!!!!!

    • Posted By: thehappyamerican @ 09/02/2008 8:20:08 PM

      Nah...
Political blunder....lieing under oath...by Bill Clinton. He should have simply resigned.
      Do you suppose he's laughing?

After 8 years, and a war, this is all you can talk about? Who are you? A secret agent for the jihadists trying to make sure America NEVER takes care of business?

  • Posted By: griffin1 @ 09/02/2008 4:54:53 PM

I dont know much about Palin but I am watching and listening and for the most part thus far her speeches have included the words of Hillary Clinton 18 million votes that shattered the glass and now she is asking for Hillary supporters to shatter that glass, well Palin we dont know if you are the standard of Hillary Clinton you haven't proven yourself and been through the mud and fought like Hillary and just last year you called Hillary a winer so now why is it you smile and look to us women for your support. Who are You? I find it sort of offensive for McCain to pick such a running mate just to entertain the women votes. We do see and think clearly Mr. McCain and you say change when your with Palin but you also stand along Bush with the same policies, we do understand your position Mr. McCAIN it's loud and clear, Thanks but no Thanks

Hey Kid, your sheets are showing.

  • Posted By: griffin1 @ 09/02/2008 4:29:36 PM

It's very simple folks we all understand the shape our Country is in today right. We see our challenges and how they have been handled for the last 8 years right. We understand that health care and the working families need change right, So it's simple
If you agree with the last 8 years go vote McCain and what was her name again

    OR

Take a stand for change for new leadership both campaigns have issues that could be improved we all agree but I will not take my vote for the same policies and continue to disgrace our Country - just my opioion

Given the lower IQ and lack of education associated with the majority of GOP voters, the selection of Palin will do little to dissuade them from "staying the course". However, for this independent voter and many others this choice really gives us pause for thought. Think about it, just 20 months ago this person was the Mayor of Wasilla City, pop. 5,500 (and maybe some bears and caribou thrown in for good measure). I can think of a few municipalities in the US that can provide a greater degree of executive-level experience than that offered by Wasilla City (from Austin to Tallahassee). She is also extremely conservative, even on issues of concern to women such as the right to choose, birth control and gender equity on equal pay between men and women for performing the same jobs. In short, she is no Hillary. Do I want the Mayor of Wasilla City a heartbeat away from being my next President if the old guy (he turns 73 next August) keels over? Any voter, man or woman, would be pretty crazy to vote for such a ticket given the risks involved and it says a great deal about McCain's lack of good judgment on making important decisions.

The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) reported today that the number of cases of Clinging to Guns and Bibles Syndrome (CGBS) had dropped for the first time in 6 months. Senator Obama expressed relief at the report. He said: " The spread of this terrible disease was beginning to undermine my chances of becoming Commander in Chief." Mr. Obama once again suggested that Gideon Bibles be removed from hotel rooms and replaced with copies of Mice and Men. "That wonderful story by Steinbeck captures the essence of my campaign"

  • Posted By: Iconoblaster @ 09/02/2008 1:50:35 PM

I have to laugh at the indignant defense of Palin, and especially at the desperate effort to distinguish her (vast and compelling) experience as Governor of the (powerful and populous) State of Alaska from her (purely preparatory) stint as the Mayor of (the obscure township of) Wasilla. That odor you smell is the smoke from McCain's "experience matters" argument going up in flames.

  • Posted By: loriw @ 09/02/2008 1:19:48 PM

I was watching CNN AC360 after work last night. Obama referred to Palin's home town where she was Mayor as WASILLY and not Wasilla. Another gaffe or purposeful disrespect? Then Obama went on to address his lack of experience compared to Palin's. He compared running his campaign to Palin's being Mayor stating his budget and number of employees to that of the town of Wasilla. Problem with that comparison is that Palin is no longer a mayor SHE IS THE GOVERNOR OF ALASKA! So, Obama do you want to make the REAL comparison? The Obama campaign is underestimating Palin just like the incumbant candidates that Palin beat underestimated her. Fatal career decision for the incumbants.

It's difficult to see how such a scene will inspire the voters.
