I find it ironic that during the Republican convention we face threats from 4 hurricanes/tropical storms: Gustav, Hannah, hurricane Ike, and according to the latest news releases hurricane Josephine.

I will not, as religious fundamentalists are fond of doing, claim hurricanes are acts of God. Nor will I, like the GOP???s core constituents, blame gays, lesbians and abortionists for invoking God???s wrath in the form of hurricanes, but I can???t help observing that the Republican convention reminds me of Belshazzar???s feast and the slew of hurricanes and tropical storms are the writing on the wall.

Obama, Gore, and his democratic allies have the courage to interpret the writing correctly. Namely, the extreme weather patterns we are witnessing are the product of global warming, and that global warming is a product of carbon-emissions (both carbon dioxide and methane.) Like Daniel, Obama had the courage to point out that off-shore drilling will not solve our problems. It will only make our problems worse. (By the way, what would happen to our oil supply if many the off-shore drilling rigs in the Gulf of Mexico were subjected not to one, but to a series of category 2 or category 3 hurricanes?) Like Daniel, Obama and his Democratic allies have outlined a plan to free us from the tyranny of oil within 10 years. Like Daniel, Obama and his Democratic allies want to restore the Mississippi delta, which is the only sure-fire way to protect New Orleans.

Many Republicans, including vice president candidate Sarah Palin, and Oklahoma Senator James Inhofe insist that global warming is a either a hoax or a natural cycle of temperature change. In the meantime, the percentage of carbon dioxide increases and the Arctic ice cap may disappear before 2012. Do we want to entrust the future of our country and the future of our planet to this assortment of frauds, liars, ignorami, and religious fanatics?

Let???s rewrite the modern book of Daniel before it???s too late. Let???s take Obama, Gore and his allies out of the lions??? den and put them where they belong - in the White House and Congress. We cannot delay. We???ve already witnessed 8 years of lying and denial, all with McCain???s stamp of approval. We cannot afford 4 more years of the same old, same old. We are playing a dangerous game of Russian roulette with the planet and 2012 may be too late.

TAX and TAX, and Americans Suck First! Is how the Dems been running the Congress! And the Congresses approval is lower than President Bush!!! Tax,tax and discrimination campaigns against gun owners, achievers, christians, law enforcement, and military experts.
This WAS a winning formula for getting dems elected...but times have changed. Tax tax ..americans suck first and ESPECIALLY those no good gun owners , achievers, christians, police and military professionals!
But it's a NEGATIVE formula. The congress is losing it's approval with it, and Obama is having a hard time running against McCain with it!!!
Americans do not like discrimination campaigns against their fellow Americans!!!
But this negative campaign is all the Dems have! And isn't it time to get our boarders secure and our economy rolling by drilling for the oil there is such abundance of? Another gun law or tax just isn't going to help. Tax- and-Bigotry is a poor way to run a nation! especially a great nation like the USA!
A nation of great people! We sure deserve better!

Since there are no comments here please go to the article called Out-of -the Ordinary-Joe here on Newsweek and read my Convention Coverage Awards. Winner in worst coverage was given to CNN.
Most Improved went to Newsweek. Best coverage went to Glenn Beck for his investigative segment of Obama's claim that running a campaign makes him more qualified than Palin who was the Mayor of Wasilla. See Glen Beck caught Obama's error that was missed by Anderson Cooper the night before. Glenn Beck did some graphics that ecven Obama could understand , making the real "comparison of Obama running a campaign and Palin runnuing the STATE of ALASKA. Let's just say that Glenn Beck proved that Palin is more than 25 times more Qualified than Palin in just one catagory. I just hope that Geln beck will post those visuals on his web site glennbeck.com for all the voters to see just in case anyone, like the CNN staff might want to see Glenn Becks research.

Hello! Glen Beck isn't qualified to be a journalist. He is a conservative blow hard, just slightly above the fray of drug addict Rush. Haven't they cancelled that low rated TV show yet?

The whole news industry is unqualified to be journalists. Dan Rather lied outright. News industry people have been fired! Ratings dropping because they are squandering their credibility on political advocacy! Most split off to support Obama.... but they'll never admit it! They pretend they are "fair and balanced"... but it's a joke!
Newsweek here is a great example!
One thing about Rush, though. He admits where his loyalties are and has millions of listeners acrossed the country each week. He is honest about his loyalies! And his audience is sure to grow larger by November!
Obama and Biden just should not do anything they don't want reported to millions of American coast to coast! Because the conservative radio people will not ignore it to HELP a liberals campaign.
Obama needs to explain his involvement with bill ayers the terrorist.
And yes, Glen Beck is a recovered drug and alchohol addict. he never drove a limo off a bridge or fled from a fatal accident.

Sorry to tell you loriw, Glen Beck isn't qualified to be a objective reporter, he is part of the right wing conservative blow hard boys club like his drug addict friend Rush. No way he is going to say anything positive about a Democrat - that is why his show has low ratings and will probably be cancelled within the year, well, after there is little to no Republican crap to spread without war or tax cuts for people like Glen Beck.

TAX TAX TAX, that is Democrats way of dealing with issues. Make things 10 times worse and I am glad that Fred Thompson and Lieberman showed a little bit of grit in bringing that point out. People are losing sight of who has been controlling the house and senate the last 4 years. Those are the ones to blame for the last 4 years of economic instability. Thanks Dems..... You sure showed us by the way you run Philadelphia and other major democratically controlled cities, (or maybe I should say you showed us how we do not want to live and we would rather have 4 more years of some mistakes then 4 years of total taxation and socialistic theology.)

Spend, Spend, Spend, but don't tax. Look at the deficit, the national debt, the balance of trade and try to defend the profligate spending of the past eight Republican years. Liberal spending democrats from Massachusetts have morphed into liberal spending governors from Texas. Read the numbers.

...........................Day Two presents George Bush appearing on a screen spouting his old politics.....the same formula for disaster that he has been pushing on us for almost eight years. McCain is supported by Bush and Bush is supported by McCain. The Republicans are a minority in numbers of those selfish people positioned well in America and who live very comfortable lives at the expense of others. The Convention in St. Paul is a display of the "Patriots" to whom the word Patriot means people like them who manipulate others for their benefit to maintain their positions of power......it is all greed displayed on television.
