I could care less about her personal life (her and her daughter popping out babies). The fact is she is a right wing fanatic! She was for Alaska seceding from the United States (the Alaskan independence party). The rhetoric from this party makes rev. wright's diatribe look tame! She is against abortions even in conditions of rape and incest. She is also a liar. She has been on the campaign trail saying she is against earmarks when she took 27 million in earmarks for her town of 6000 people! She said she was against the bridge to nowhere, when she was for it and took the money (after it was a national joke) and spent on other p projects. She is corrupt!

      Ezana -

Factcheck.org states that Sarah Palin WAS NOT for Alaska seceding from the United States (the Alaskan independence party).

You are merely attempting to spew false rumours regarding this fine Republican VP candidate.

I wouldn't doubt that your other allegations are also without any factual basis.

The obamabot slime tactic camp has been exposed, and its charlatan continues to lose voter support.

Sarah Palin - Summary of Why Democrats Are Cowering: NOT

Last time I checked Sarah Palin is not running for president.

Sarah Palin diligently worked to graduate from university with a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication-journalism and minored in Political Science and knows nothing about what a VP does.
Barack Obama graduated from Harvard Law School magna *** laude

Sarah Palin so-called popularity and support is based on her ability to lobby congress for money.
Barack Obama's is based on inspiring individuals to believe in their country despite the inept administration in charge.

Sarah Palin can somewhat deliver a speech that was written for her from a teleprompter written the day before she spoke.
Barack Obama can deliver a speech off-the-cuff or written by him anytime anywhere.

John McCain cannot remember his next word without looking at an index card or someone whispering in his ear telling him what to say. Sarah Palin is a desperate VP choice in a last ditch effort to win the presidency!

Now Obama is wimpering for his female supporters to protect him from her!

When you get a brain then open your mouth. That saying, "as long as you keep your mouth shut no one knows how dumb you are" you are a prime example. He has not whimpered to anyone he has stayed on message when McCain has not and his female supports have not gone anywhere. As long as Palin keeps opening up her mouth she is losing voters every day. John McCain was supposed to get a bump from his convention and got nothing because of her. Keep that lipstick on and keep barking!

Obviously you fail to follow the advice of all those obamabots who instruct you to keep your mouth shut, and the consequences are obvious.

To refute your claim that Obama "has not whimpered to anyone" - various news reports yesterday and today verify that Obama has pleaded with Hillary Clinton, Janet Napolitano of Arizona, and Kathleen Sebelius of Kansas to attack Sarah Palin who has succeeded in exposing the incapable empty suit.

          • Posted By: theworld @ 09/06/2008 2:57:42 PM

Let me repeat this once again because I know some you are real slow. That saying, "as long as you keep your mouth shut no one knows how dumb you are" you are another prime example. Hillary already said she would be campaigning for Obama so that is something he did not have to ask. Nor has he asked Janet Napolitano or Kathleen Sebelius to go after her. His surrogates will do that for him just like McCain's. You are a good repubbot keep totting the party.

Keep that lipstick on and keep barking!

The Sep. 05, 2008 edition of The International Herald Tribune carried an article (titled To counter Palin, Obama to dispatch female surrogates) written by Patrick Healy and Jeff Zeleny which stated that Barack Obama is dispatching Hillary Clinton to Florida on Monday.

Obama advisers were the source for that information provided to the reporters.

Those same advisers also confirmed that Obama was creating a rapid-response team to deploy female surrogates to attack Palin.

Yes, you have been duly corrected!

              • Posted By: theworld @ 09/07/2008 4:31:18 PM

Let me say this much much slower because it is obvious that you repubbots with your no-child-left-behind education never learned reading comprehension. A snip from that article says, "Obama aides say they are counting on not only Clinton but also Democratic female governors to criticize their Alaskan counterpart, Palin ??? and, by extension, McCain ??? including Janet Napolitano of Arizona and Kathleen Sebelius of Kansas." You are obviously to dumb to realize you contradicted yourself and validated my response. As you stated in your post his advisers informed reporters because that is what they do for him. As I said (and you) his surrogates/advisers do that for him. Oops, wrong again you get an 'F'.

Keep that lipstick on and keep barking!

No, I have not contradicted myself - reread the article, and convene a meeting with 100 obamabots to interpret it for you. Hopefully one of them will be able to do that for you.
                  Otherwise, ask any Republican.

But your rant sure does reveal a lot about you.
I'm sorry that you are one of the failures of the No-Child-Left-Behind education program.
Your president, George W. Bush, failed to realize that obamabots would be included in that program, and he probably didn't realize that obamabot IQ levels could be that low.

Learn how to comprehend sentences I graduated some time before Dummy got into office but it is obvious you did not. That is why you got an 'F'. You need a dictionary because it is obvious you do not know the definition of words such as 'adviser'.

What your Dummy failed to realize learning how to past a test is not an education which you do not have. That is why you repubbots have a great future working in fast food or Wal-mart. Your rant sure shows a lot about you. You just put down a bunch of word that mean nothing showing how dumb you are. Enough said I am sure you need to go over those answers your teacher gave you so you can pass your state test. That is the only why you repubbots ever pass anything or know anything.

As for this celebrity issue, I personally don't mind our President commanding attention when he/she walks into a room (like Obama does). I would think you would want a leader who people will want to follow their lead.

I'm a regular PTA mom and I don't really want a "regular " hockey/PTA mom as our V.P. (possible Pres.). I want our leaders to have a bigger personality and scope of all issues than me. Of course I want them to have empathy for middle class America and be in touch with real folks and have an understanding of our situations. But I don't necessarily need them to "be" a regular folk living my struggles. Otherwise let's pick our leaders by going into rural America and pick a regular "Joe" or "Jane" and just have advisors feed them talking points while in office. Having an air of celebrity, to me, is a strength as long as it's paired with having empathy for all people and an understanding of issues.

Mocking Obama's "Community Organizer" experience might be what ends up biting McCain and Palin in the ass in the fall.

Both parties now have all of this energy and excitement for their candidates but only Obama knows how to channel that energy, organize it, and mobilize it to a victory. It was how he beat Hillary. McCain and Palin only know how to reform from the top down. Obama and Biden will create change from the top down and the bottom up. Something Obama learned how to do as a what?...a Community Organizer. How ironic. You shouldn't mock the skill that will eventually beat you in the end. It's tough to beat a true grassroots movement.

" Real change comes to Washington not from Washington".

Let's not overlook in the end that most Americans do not want 4 more years of Bush's policies.

Sarah Palin - More Reasons Why Democrats Are Cowering

Sarah Palin ardently supports an all-inclusive energy plan, whereas Obama and Biden refuse to support any inclusion of fossil fuels and nuclear technology.

Sarah Palin has more foreign trade experience than both Obama and Biden. since she has protected the US fishery and oil industries from Canadian and Russian competition.

Sarah Palin has actually opposed Big Oil companies, and returned excess windfall profits to the Alaskan taxpayers, whereas Obama and Biden merely propose that they will do likewise.

Sarah Palin has more direct experience with the US Navy and Coast Guard than Obama and Biden.

Sarah Palin has a son who is in the US military and will soon serve in Iraq, whereas Obama and Biden do not have any family member willing to risk his or her life to serve their country.

Sarah Palin has actually demonstrated her ability to effect meaningful political change, whereas Obama and Biden have merely promised to do so in a non-specific manner.

Sarah Palin demonstrates a determination and ability to reform the way politics is conducted in Washington, whereas Obama and Biden merely suggest that they will bring about some vague undefined form of change.

Sarah Palin believes and has demonstrated that a woman can earn what she is worth, whereas Obama and Biden subscribe to the equal pay and affirmative action legislative approach to salary determination for women.

Sarah Palin supports a moral stand which respects the dignity of all human life, even its most vulnerable, whereas Obama stance on abortion is one of shallow political opportunism.

davole, during Sarah Palin's speech in Denver last Wednesday she introduced her family. Of her son Track she clearly said, "Our 18-year-old son Track ...." (will leave for Iraq Sept. 11th)

When the camera panned to Track he looked mighty uncomfortable. No wonder. His mother had just blatantly lied to to the entire nation about his true age.

Today stumpin' Sarah Palin told a crowd: "Our 19-year-old son Track" (will leave for Iraq Sept. 11th)

Why does her son's age matter?

Possibly because 'Abstain' Sarah and her husband were married on August 29, 1968 and Track was born in April 1969.

                  Next question?

A mere mortal such as myself might confuse the date but Sarah Palin knows exactly the date of her son Track's birth.

                      To clarify:

Sarah and Todd married August 29, 1988. Track was born April 1989.

Obviously you would have quickly assumed the role of prime accuser due to your demonstrated competence in peeking through windows in order to discover minor personal moral transgressions.

And you're so adept at making a "federal case" out of your findings.

I???m actually somewhat surprised that you???re not demanding that Sarah Palin be burned at the stake because you claim that she has conceived a child out of wedlock.

                          EP I got this.

No witch trial is necessary but it was people like them and now repubbots like Sarah Palin that push their so-called values on others but do not follow those values themselves.

No one needs to look through her window what goes on in her house is her business. However, when she tries to push her so-called values on others such as abstinence and did not follow it herself she needs to keep her lying mouth shut.

No one is demanding she be burned at the stake but it would be you repubbots doing the burning since she violated your so-called code of ethics. Oh wait, she is not supposed to be hypocritical, and have a strict code of ethics and responsibility NOT.

Obama supports a women's right to choose which is the law so get over your self-delusions of grandeur or so-called righteousness.

The current century started eight years ago, oops; but it is obvious you are the satanic carry-over that needs to be exercised.

There are very few people who go through life unscathed. Must we constantly and continuously hear about John McCain's POW experiences. He is at least alive to tell his never ending same old story which he has told repeatedly his entire adulthood. There were over 56,000 young men who died in VIetnam and none of them are telling any stories now. And you never hear about all the American POWs from WWII. The world is full of the walking wounded. It is long past due that McCain put his tired old past exactly where it belongs. In his old, worn out history book. Because we do not care about it and all it does it just keep telling us how very old he is. Time to move on and let it go for good.

    • Posted By: pearsoncrz @ 09/03/2008 10:26:16 AM

McCain isn't telling the story, others are, because what a person does, the choices he makes in such extreme circumstances, reveal his character. It is not a matter of being one of the walking wounded. John McCain is a true leader who has shown his colors under duress.

Go read the book before you dismiss John McCain's history as old news and verification of nothing more than his age.

      • Posted By: raddave @ 09/03/2008 11:32:39 AM

They aren't telling the whole story about John McCain either. They do not mention that he finised 894th of of a class of 899 at the Naval Academy. That he crashed two planes. Did give military information to the North Vienamese (Other than the names of the Defensive line for the Green Bay Pakers, or was it the Pittsburgh Steelers?) That he was involved with the Keating five scandal. That he once was a Maverick, but is no more.

No, Maryanderson, you dont' care about it. Some of us care very much about it. We think it speaks of his long history of standing up for his country and looking out for its best interests. We think that it shows his steadfast support of our great military.

If you want a leader who had dedicated his long life to public service and the defense of our nation, then vote for McCain.

If you want a leader who listened to "hate America" sermons for 20 years (yes, even the blissful Clinton years), associates with terrorist William Ayers of the Weatherman Underrground responsible for bombing dozens of locations inside the US, and quotes Marxist propaganda with the goal of moving our country toward socialism, then vote Obama.

Ah, Texas Conservatism. We have enjoyed eight years of it. Narrow of mind. Sure of self. Holier than thou. Dumb of government. Wasteful of resources. Spender of more than all past spenders. God.

Yes, I am sure that the $1.4 TRILLION of additional spending Obama proposes over the next 4 years will buy us out of our problems. Oh wait, you mean we already have a massive deficit? Perhaps some reforms are necessary to cut spending and earmarks.

Oh, John mcCain has never proposed an earmark. Oh, Obama has. Palin worked to eliminate earmarks successfully in Alaska. john McCain has worked across party lines and gone against republicans. Obama has a much more partisan voting record.

it's a good political attack to say that McCain is more Bush, but McCain is McCain, Bush is Bush. They are 2 different men with 2different experiences and visions and different priorities.

Palin earmarks 29 Million. McCain earmarks 101 million. Oh. They don't like them now? Oh.

McCain has never earmarked 101 million. post your source.

McCain has pushed legislation through normal channels to obtain funding for federal projects in his jurisdiction, which is not the same thing.

Obama, on the other hand, has made full use of the earmark process.

One of Obama's top financial backers, James Crown, serves on the board of General Dynamics, a military contractor. Crown is a member of Obama's campaign finance committee and a big superbundler for Obama. He is also on Obama's Illinois campaign committee.

Obama secured $1.3 million of an $8 million earmark request in 2006 for a program that was overseen by General Dynamics.Obama also secured $750,000 of a $3 million request for renovation of a space center named for Crown's grandfather, Henry Crown, at the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago.

Obama also secured several million dollars for a project at Chicago State University. Emil Jones Jr., the president of the Illinois State Senate and an early and powerful political benefactor of Obama's, has been a dogged champion of Chicago State, and one of Senator Obama's closest friends.

Although it was not approved, Obama also requested a million dollar earmark for the hospital where his wife works and which gave his wife a huge raise.

Nothing wrong with earmarks if they respond to need and benefit Americans.

As mayor of Wasila, Sarah Palin hired the first lobbyist ever for the town. He was able to get 27 million dollars in earmarks over four years. This, for a town of under 7 thousand people. Her stated accomplishments are a lie.

Obama is the unnamed "political candidate" referred to in a section of the indictment that accused Rezko of orchestrating a scheme in which a firm hired to handle state teacher pension investments first had to pay $250,000 in "sham" finder's fees (Note: he was found guilty). From that money, $10,000 was donated to Obama's successful run for the Senate in the name of a Rezko business associate, according to the court filing and the source.

Rezko, who was part of Obama's senatorial finance committee, also is accused of directing "at least one other individual" to donate money to Obama and then reimbursing that individual -- in possible violation of federal election law (Note: he was found guilty).

Obama donated more than $44,000 in Rezko-linked contributions to charity last year, including the $10,000 donation mentioned in the court filing.

That money was donated to Obama by Joseph Aramanda, a Glenview businessman and Rezko associate who, sources have said, is the ???Individual D??? prosecutors say received the $250,000 in finder???s fees demanded by Rezko. Individual D did nothing to earn those fees, according to prosecutors.

The $10,000 contribution to Obama was given in Aramanda???s name on March 5, 2004, records show. While Obama???s camp has said the senator did not know Aramanda, Obama???s office hired Aramanda???s son as an intern in 2005, at Rezko???s urging.

The one area where [Rezko] did have a political interest in Springfield that emerged - this is all pre-Blagojevich - was gaming. He was one of the minority investors in Rosemont. That's one area where he could have asked me for favors, but did not, partly because I was clearly on record as being opposed. I was a gaming opponent as [Sun-Times Springfield Bureau Chief] Dave McKinney will recall.

Dems can deny all they want who Obama really is - after all his middle name is Hussein - since he is a Muslem - and the people he associates with really demonstrates that! He has always followed leaders who HATED the USA and leaders who cheered on attacks like 9/11 (just like Muslims do) and even worse he was the follower and really close friend of people who helped in these attacks. If Navymomo6 does not want to admit this then just like the rest of the Dems - believe in all the emptiness, lies and bluff Barack Hussein Obama has to offer - go vote to pay more taxes - since you guys like to be poor so you can complain more about your country, dont let our people in uniform fight for the safety of our country since after all you want more attacks to God forbid fall on our country, and ask for the Gov to control more programs (and charge it once again to our taxes) and not receive anything in return since no Gov has in history shown to be able to head programs since its not for them to control its for private companies to run these programs. Obama hates this country so does his wife Michelle they have made it very clear (until they were told to stop) and has absolutely no intentions (b/c he doesnt know how) to imrove anything for our country and so he would be the worst leader in history since he has absolutely nothing to offer let alone any experience in being able to run a country. Btw, Jesus would never have sided with Obama most importantly since Obama believes its ok to kill a newborn baby (he was the ONLY Sen. to vote for that) and Jesus would NEVER EVER agree to that, as well as the Dems have only ever shown hatred to anybody who is not a Dem and even dug so low and degraded yourselves so badly by lying with no shame twisting and turning stories about Republicans - so there, go show me the love Dems have to the world - YOU DONT have any love!!! Republicans are here to improve the country by making it safer for ALL OF US and lower ALL of our taxes etc. - they have great policies, integrity and honesty and will run our country the way it should be. God bless America!

I AM ALL OR YOU BexHi. YOU HAVE IT ABSOLUTELY RIGHT!!!!!!! AND FRED THOMPSON'S COMMENT ABOUT TAXES WAS RIGHT ALSO. OBAMA IS ONLY GOING TO TAX COMPANIES???? YEAH WELL, THINK ABOUT IT, THEN EVERY TIME YOU BUY GROCERIES, TOILETRIES, GAS OR WHATEVER COMPANIES SELL, YOU WILL BE PAYING MORE. DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY DEMS ARE SO STUPID AS NOT TO BE ABLE TO FIGURE THAT OUT!!!!! ANYONE HAVE AN ASWER TO THAT?
AND ONE LAST THING; I AM NOT A RACIST AND HAVE SOME BLACK FRIENDS BUT I WONDERED WHY THE DEM CONVENTION WAS FULL OF BLACK PEOPLE AND THE GOP HALL WAS NOT. COULD IT BE THAT THE BLACKS ARE GOING TO VOTE FOR B.O. MERELY BECAUSE HE IS BLACK OR ALSO BECAUSE THEY ARE LOOKING FOR HANDOUTS AND ENTITLEMENTS FROM OUR GOVERNMENT BY RAISING TAXES? JUST WONDERED. I THINK IT'S A VALID QUESTION.

Bizet, Maybe it's you that has to figure things out. Have you been to the pumps lately? The food store lately? Paid your property taxes lately? School taxes lately? Has there been a Republican in the White House for the past 8 years? Is government larger or smaller than 8 years ago? There's your answer!

        • Posted By: Texas-conservative @ 09/03/2008 2:39:26 PM

Government hasn't shrunk since any of us has been alive. Prices are more now than they were 10 years ago. 10 years ago, prices were higher than they were 10 years before that.

In the last 8 years, the poercentage of my income paid in taxes has reduced....and in Texas, my property taxes spiked a couple years ago, but then they went down again.

          • Posted By: elizabethpaige @ 09/06/2008 7:23:25 PM

How comforting to learn that your income taxes and property taxes do not unduly burden you.

Tell us how you really feel about Americans who don't pay income tax because their jobs have been shipped overseas.

Tell us how you really feel about Americans who don't pay property taxes because their homes have been foreclosed.

Feel free to answer those questions in the context of Americans spending $10 billion a month to rebuild Iraq after the USA 'Shock and Awe' bombed the bejeezus out of it.

        http://www.worldnetdaily.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=72667

I don't think Obama is a practicing Muslim now, but it is clear that he was at one point in his life.

His trip after his graduation to Pakistan also raises questions about the influence Islamic interests in the middle east would have on his decisions as POTUS. In fact, as a state senator Obama was pro-Palestinian. He only switched his rhetoric to pro-Israel when he decided to run for the Senate, reassuring his Palestinian friends in Chicago that he'd be more up front with his real position on the middle east conflict after the election.

"Obama's about-face is not surprising. He is merely doing what he thinks is necessary to get elected and he will continue doing it as long as it keeps him in power. Palestinian-Americans are in the same position as civil libertarians who watched with dismay as Obama voted to reauthorize the USA Patriot Act, or immigrant rights advocates who were horrified as he voted in favor of a Republican bill to authorize the construction of a 700-mile fence on the border with Mexico."

What does his middle name have to do with anything? Why do people always want to through that in as if anyone with the same name are all alike? Does this mean that everyone named "Jeffrey" like to eat people? And how do you know that he and his wife hate this country? Has he personally said this to you and some of your closest friends? I love this country just like you and many more Americans but I feel the need to criticize things that happen (war in Iraq, gas prices, higher mortgages, etc) some of the time. It doesn't mean that I hate the US or that I want to live somewhere else. It just means that I disagree with some of our policies ... I thought that was a freedom I was granted as an American citizen.

BTW, none of us know who Jesus would have sided with. Man created the system that seems to categorize one sin as worse than another. In God's eyes, all sins are equal whether it's lying, murder, etc.

How can Palin denigrate being a community organizer one night then the next night we see McCain stand up and tell people to volunteer in their communities and for their country? Opposing messages, maybe? Also, not that I care that Palin's daughter is pregnant, but am I one of a few people to see that the message of "moral right", "family values" and abstinence first programs that Republicans laud to the masses didn't work for the family of the Republican VP nominee? As a single, undecided, independent voter I'm beginning to see which party is not for me. I don't care for the hypocrisy.

    • Posted By: Davole @ 09/06/2008 1:07:55 AM

      Spots26 -

There's a difference between being a community organizer and a volunteer.

Often a community organizer is a narcissistic person who is merely looking for praise from society, whereas a volunteer is a humble person who intends to strive, without reward, to do some good for others.

Sarah Palin does not exhibit hypocrisy - she acknowledges human frailty, displays forgiveness, and shows compassion according to a fine code of ethics and responsibility.

      • Posted By: elizabethpaige @ 09/06/2008 12:00:10 PM

"... according to a fine code of ethics and responsibility."

You're referring to Sarah Palin's smugly intolerant religious right extremist pro life pro war fine code of ethics and responsibility?

Thanks, but no thanks. Americans don't care for leaders who crudely promote fear, paranoia, intolerance, war and poverty. As we made crystal clear in World War II.

Elisabeth you should not have let him off that easy. I understand you were just being nice.

First of all davole you have no idea why community organizer do what they do and who are you to say otherwise. A volunteer could be just as narcissistic as you have defined a community organizer. That person could be doing it just to impress someone else so that would not make that person humble but an opportunist.

Second (davole) you want to talk about hypocrisy, human frailty, forgiveness, compassion and a fine code of ethics and responsibility something you say Sarah Palin has you need to check again. She made a joke about community organizers when she was one herself that is a hypocrite. Human frailty lets see, oh yea her pregnant teenage daughter who she pulled out of high school and said it was because of Mono when in fact she was pregnant. That is not showing too much forgiveness when you are covering up your daughters pregnancy because she did not hold to her so-called value of abstinence. Compassion; if you do not do what I say I will get you fired (under investigation). A fine code of ethics and responsibility; just like with putting that luxury jet on Ebay but failing to mention that you did not sell it on Ebay but through a private broker and for a loss. Now you have John McCain campaigning saying that Palin sold that plane on Ebay for a profit when it is not true. Now you have the Republican Party presidential candidate lying on the campaign trail because she did not step-up and tell the truth. That code of ethics getting in the way, the one that says keep telling that lie to the very end. Oh wait it gets better how about that bridge-to-nowhere. "I told Congress thanks but no thanks if we need to build a bridge we will build it ourselves." Oh, she forgot to mention she took that earmark money for the bridge-to-nowhere and built a road to nowhere. Responsibility; lets leave the city of Wasilla that city where she was mayor and made decision $20 millions dollars in debt, that???s good ole fashion Republican fiscal responsibility shinning through once again. I could keep going but my point is made on Sarah Palin she exhibits everything you said she does not and McCain is the candidate being denounced.

"McCAIN / PALIN / GOP" HYPOCRISY #1: THE "WE DON'T KNOW HIM" LIES
After 19-months on the campaign trail, detractors of Senator Obama (mainly GOP constituents), claim they "still don't know Obama" well enough to make an informed decision as to how they should vote. But within 48-hours of Sarah Palin's introduction to the GOP, Obama's critics suddenly knew everything there was to know about Sarah Palin. How is it that the religious-right cannot know (a fellow Christian brother) Obama after he endured 18-months of brutal media scrutiny, but suddenly 'know' Palin within 2-days of popping up on the national stage and without one public interview?

    .
    [2.]
"McCAIN / PALIN / GOP" HYPOCRISY #2: THE "EXPERIENCE" LIES
After Senator Obama spent 19-months running a campaign that has totaled $350-million; and after 3 ½ years in the Senate negotiating legislations for the nation and for his 12.8-million Illinois constituents; and after 8-years in Illinois State Senate fighting for the middle-class; and after 3 ½ more years fighting as a community activist and organizer; it is genuinely hypocritical for McCain to pound Obama on the experience factor, and then turn around and install Sarah Palin with NO national and foreign experience, to be a single heartbeat from Commander-in-Chief of the United States. This is a GARGANTUAN HYPOCRISY and a RECKLESS decision that puts the nation at risk just so McCain can win the presidency.

    .
    [3.]
"McCAIN / PALIN / GOP" HYPOCRISY #3: THE "CHANGE" LIES
Up until last week, McCain's campaign has been on "EXPERIENCE", while Obama's mantra has always been on CHANGE. After watching the DNC performance, McCain 'blinked' and changed his campaign to run on the same mantra as Obama's which is CHANGE. This is after McCain accused Obama of saying anything to win!!

    .
    [4.]
"McCAIN / PALIN / GOP" HYPOCRISY #4: THE "APPEASEMENT" LIES
Bush and McCain accused Obama of wanting to "appease" Iran so they would stop their nuclear program. Obama blasted back and said McCain and Bush hold hawkish views and poor judgment, and their refusal to open diplomatic channels with Iran amounts to failed international policies. Ironically, Bush followed Obama's strategy and began backdoor talks with Iran. As it has turned out, neither Bush nor McCain are calling their own talks with Iran "appeasement", or given Obama credit for what Americans wanted the Bush-McCain leadership to try prior to military exercises. And by the way, Bush and McCain supported 'appeasements' to North Korea in exchange for shutting down their nukes. Again, how ironic, appeasement was the very thing Bush / McCain hypocrites accused Obama.

    .
    [5.]
"McCAIN / PALIN / GOP" HYPOCRISY #5: THE "TAX CUT" LIES
McCain accused Obama of trying to raise taxes. But Obama has continually advocated tax cuts for the middle-class with annual salaries of less than $250,000.00, which is about 98% of the population. However, McCain doesn't tell the public his health insurance plan is going to effectively raise taxes for all Americans that have health insurance, while making permanent tax cuts for the riches upper 2% of Americans.

    .
    [6.]
"McCAIN / PALIN / GOP" HYPOCRISY #6: THE "BRIDGE TO NOWHERE" LIES
Sarah Palin claimed on several occasions that she turned down $350-million of federal government earmarks for the "bridge to nowhere". But what actually happened is Sarah campaigned to get the money for the "bridge to nowhere", then flip-flopped after McCain voted the bridge down when she won the Governor's office. Ironically, Alaska still got the 'bridge to nowhere' funds but it was used instead to build a "highway to nowhere".

    .
    [7.]
"McCAIN / PALIN / GOP" HYPOCRISY #7: THE "PLANE SALE ON EBAY" LIES
Sarah Palin insinuated she sold state plane on EBay for a profit, and more recently McCain repeated it as a fact that the plane was actually sold on EBay for a profit. That lie has now been debunked, and the good Christian Sarah Palin has no shame that she was caught in another lie. The plane could not sell on EBay so it was taken down and sold "privately for a lost".

    .
    [8.]
"McCAIN / PALIN / GOP" HYPOCRISY #8: THE "ABSTINENCE-ONLY" LIES
Sarah Palin as an Ultra Extreme Religious-Right advocate uses her State office bully-pulpit to knock down public school sex-education, while plugging her "abstinence-only" religious views to public schools. Ironically, her 17-year old daughter Bristol fails to practice the "abstinence before marriage" views her mother is trying to push in Alaska schools. Then Sarah tries to hide it with another lie by telling the school where Bristol attends that her daughter must drop out because she has Mono. Sarah continued to hold fast to the Mono lie until rumors break loose just after her VP announcement. It was only then the "abstinence-only" hypocrite came clean.

    [9.]
"McCAIN / PALIN / GOP" HYPOCRISY #9: THE "TROOPER-GATE" LIES
Sarah Palin claimed she never called the State Trooper Magistrate to have her ex-brother-in-law fired. Soon after investigators got on the seen, emails were retrieved to dispute that fact, and now all seven of Sarah's state appointees have refused to testify. It has been learned that more than 20+ plus calls were made to the State Trooper Magistrate regarding the firing of Sarah's brother-in-law, and because the seven witnesses have 'lawyered-up', the investigators must use subpoenas to get the seven that initially volunteered to testify to give an account of what happened.

    .
    [10.]
"McCAIN / PALIN / GOP" HYPOCRISY #10: THE "POLITICS BEFORE COUNTRY" LIES
McCain and Rove accused Obama of picking Virginia Governor Tim Kane as VP for political expediency, and also because Tim Kane would bring a southern state into the Democratic "Win Column". Instead Obama went for Senator Joe Biden to sure up the leadership ticket for the White House. McCain assuming it would be an Obama-Kane ticket, wrongly accused Obama of putting politics ahead of country. Well McCain and Rove got busted. The whole world (except blinded Religious-Right) witnessed McCain picking the least qualified Republican to be his VP in hopes of: (1.) stealing Hillary's voters from Obama; (2.) pleasing James Dobson's religious-right. Clearly a hypocritical VP pick by McCain for the "sole purpose of political ambitions", is now on record for the world???s eternal observation.

    .
    [11.]
    "McCAIN / PALIN / GOP" HYPOCRISY #11: THE "SADDLEBACK CONE-OF-SILENCE" CHEATER-LIES
It was McCain's responsibility to be in Pastor Rick Warren's "Cone of Silence" before Senator Obama got the first question. McCain was not in the cone-of-silence. Therefore McCain cheated. The issue is not whether McCain heard any of the questions posed to Obama, the issue is that cheating did occur when McCain did not follow the rules to be where he was suppose to be, at the time he was suppose to be there.

    .
    [12.]
"McCAIN / PALIN / GOP" HYPOCRISY #12: THE "IRAQ TIMETABLE" LIES
Senator Obama was consistent in his call for a responsible U.S. troop withdrawal from Iraq under an agreed timetable. McCain and Bush said "absolutely" no timetables and anything like timetables was tantamount to "cut-and-run". It was Bush and McCain's desire to stay in Iraq indefinitely. Only after Obama took McCain's challenge and went to Iraq & Afghanistan, and secured an informal agreement to pull U.S. troops out by 2010, did Bush and McCain changed there views to accept timetables. Now Bush and McCain don't call timetables cut-and-run any longer.

Yet again McCain used the POW thing. I have respect for a man willing to serve his country. But with all his family history and POW stories, he still uses that sympathy to attract voters rather than discuss the economy.

THIS IS WHAT THE RELIGIOUS RIGHT DO: THEY KILL!
I thought American forces were in Afghanistan for our security," said Attiqullah, his voice trembling. "I could never have imagined that they would bomb my wedding party. They killed my entire family. I will never forgive them."
"Then there was a loud explosion on the top of the mountain," Attiqullah, crying, explained what happened. "I saw balls of fire explode in the sky, the mountain seemed to be burning. I ran from the house and started climbing. I ran faster and faster. I could hear the cries of children and women. And then the second explosion."
The U.S. military is investigating the incident and said in a statement: "Any loss of innocent life is tragic."
"I assure you we do not target civilians and that our forces go to great lengths to avoid civilian casualties," U.S. military spokesman, 1st Lieutenant Nathan Perry said.
An investigation by the Afghan government concluded that 52 people died in that air attack - 45 women and children were killed. Afghan President Hamid Karzai ordered his government to pay $2,000 for each person killed and $1,000 to each injured person.
Attiqullah told me there was no offer of assistance to the family from coalition forces.

"THIS IS WHAT THE RELIGIOUS RIGHT DO: THEY KILL!"

      What a friggin' moron.

Religious or not, the right is in 'win the Iraq war at any cost' mode. Sen. McCain's Vietnam demons compel him to brag, 'I know how to win wars' and as president he hopes to prove himself as a proud warrior, not a POW.

.After Sen. Obama is sworn in as president I hope that Sen. McCain will lecture or write about his POW days. Cathartic for him, interesting for those interested in what happened to him, and absolutely harmless to America.

I keep wondering why Republicans seem to feel a need to call other names and simply be rude. Is that how your candidate really is?
All you supposed former Hillary supporters who now are voting for John McCain-you obviously do not care about issues and the REAL reason you are voting for John McCain is that you are voting against the color of Obama's skin. I have wondered if gender or color would win out in this election.
You simply can not be voting on issues if you were supporting Hillary and now are supporting John McCain.
In the past when he was REALLY the maverick he says he is I could believe your reasoning. However, as he has supported George Bush 90% of the time (and we ALL know where that has gotten us) his "maverick" nick name is false.
You need to vote issues and you need to vote for the future of this country. The Republican control of the last decade has ruined the economy, gotten us into a war in the Mideast that we can not win. (Yes, it is better now but unless you are committed to leaving a high number of troops there forever we will have done nothing), owered our standing in the world, and erased the balanced budget of the previouse administration. Vote Democrat and we will reverse the downward spiral the Republicans have gotten us into.

How interesting that you suggest that republicans call names then you immediately insult us by accusing us of being racist because we disagree with Obama's socialist policies, his questionable associations, and his lack of experience. Wait, I made a mistake ... it isn't interesting, it's ignorant.

It is interesting how some people throw around the word "socialism " like it's a bogeyman. Of course no one wants to live under a communist system. But talk to some Canadians and ask them about their universal healthcare system, then get back to me about this socialistic bogeyman.

Canada is experience a shortage in doctors. Waiting lists to see specialists are 4-6 months long.
The Canadian government, by legeslating the costs for procedures, has taken the profit incentive out of being in the healthcare profession.

          • Posted By: elizabethpaige @ 09/06/2008 2:24:07 AM

Canada provides government funded healthcare to everyone regardless their income.

socialism isn't a reference to the universal healthcare, it is a reference to Obama's plan to tax the rich and elderly and give that money to the poor and young.

No do not vote Democrat. That is NOT the way to think of this. Forget the party labels. Stop being so afraid. That's what this is: fear and paranoia. Things are TERRIBLE in this country. It's like we are on a burning crumbling platform but we won't take a chance to jump to safety because we are afraid of falling. There is no experience, NONE, that prepares you for the Presidency of the most complex nation on earth except... and get ready for it...BEING THE PRESIDENT. The ONLY thing you can take into the Oval Office is the method in which you make decisions and your character. I like McCain as a man but I do not want him as my leader. I don't think he can see beyond the blinders of past methods even if he wanted to. Past methods have NOT worked. If they had been working we would not have the issues we now face. That's an in the face fact.

So you would prefer Obama's pay-to-play decisions?

  • Posted By: MonSa @ 09/04/2008 3:30:40 PM

I believe that Palin was a very good choice as running mate for McCain. He will need all the help he can get as he does not seem as articulate as his opponent Obama. I believe that she introduced herself very well and showed that she wasn't just there for looks. This was in essence a very good decision to balance his not so conservative views. It may help him win some support with women voters. If he wants to win then this may have been his best move.
Being a registered Democrat I find it more and more difficult to relate to the ever more socialist views of the Democratic party. I will be leaning to the McCain/Palin ticket in November.

On a side note, 'Change' should not mean that you say one thing here and another there.I find this 'tactic' somewhat insulting.

Sarah Palin calls herself a 'pitbull with lipstick'.

As Sarah regales America with her Alaska reform victories she's on the national scene in full attack mode, 'meaner than a junkyard dog.'

Sarah is a conservative Christian but she's not wasting time on kindness, humility, tolerance, generosity of spirit, respect for the educaed opinions of others, she's determined to show her tough side.

Her pro life stance doesn't extend to animals. She kills beautiful wildlife and turns it into stew and burgers.

Sarah says God wants American soldiers fighting in Iraq.

Her pro life for humans is extreme but justified by superior moral family values.

      Megalomania, anyone?.

Eugene McCarthy comes to mind. He ratcheted up fear and paranoia about communism. The little coward eventually imploded in disgrace but not before ruining many Americans' careers and families.

Bullies don't much care about boundaries.

McCain and Palin are ratcheting up fear and paranoia about national security. Let's not go down that path again.

Why aren't you insulted then by McCains ever changing positions? The republicans call it "evolving" when McCain does it but it's flip flopping when Obama does it. They all change and they have to change to keep up with our ever changing world, except for Bush he never changes even when he's dead wrong. Don't get sucked into the hypocrisy of the right wing. You're smarter than that, you're a Democrat. Think about the fact that the next president will be able to appoint THREE supreme court justices - that should scare you knowing the religious conservatives that Bush has alread appointed.

    • Posted By: bluebloodedLV @ 09/04/2008 3:37:49 PM

Is that why republicans refer to McCains flip flops as "evolving"? Don't get sucked into the hypocrisy. You're smarter than that, you're a Democrat! Think about Roe v Wade. The next president will have the chance to appoint THREE supreme court justices. That should scare you given who Bush has appointed.
