After 19-months on the campaign trail, detractors of Senator Obama (mainly GOP constituents), claim they "still don't know Obama" well enough to make an informed decision as to how they should vote. But within 48-hours of Sarah Palin's introduction to the GOP, Obama's critics suddenly knew everything there was to know about Sarah Palin. How is it that the religious-right cannot know Obama after he endured 18-months of brutal media scrutiny, but suddenly 'know' Palin within 2-days of popping up on the national stage and without one public interview?

After Senator Obama spent 19-months running a campaign that has totaled $350-million; and after 3 ½ years in the Senate negotiating legislations for the nation and for his 12.8-million Illinois constituents; and after 8-years in Illinois State Senate fighting for the middle-class; and after 3 ½ more years fighting as a community activist and organizer; it is genuinely hypocritical for McCain to pound Obama on the experience factor, and then turn around and install Sarah Palin with NO national and foreign experience, to be a single heartbeat from Commander-in-Chief of the United States. This is a GARGANTUAN HYPOCRISY and a RECKLESS decision that puts the nation at risk just so McCain can win the presidency.

Up until last week, McCain's campaign has been on "EXPERIENCE", while Obama's mantra has always been on CHANGE. After watching the DNC performance, McCain 'blinked' and changed his campaign to run on the same mantra as Obama's which is CHANGE. This is after McCain accused Obama of saying anything to win!!

Bush and McCain accused Obama of wanting to "appease" Iran so they would stop their nuclear program. Obama blasted back and said McCain and Bush hold hawkish views and poor judgment, and their refusal to open diplomatic channels with Iran amounts to failed international policies. Ironically, Bush followed Obama's strategy and began backdoor talks with Iran. As it has turned out, neither Bush nor McCain are calling their own talks with Iran "appeasement", or given Obama credit for what Americans wanted the Bush-McCain leadership to try prior to military exercises. And by the way, Bush and McCain supported 'appeasements' to North Korea in exchange for shutting down their nukes. Again, how ironic, appeasement was the very thing Bush / McCain hypocrites accused Obama.

Well, while Obama was visiting the 57 states (the man who would be president doesn't even know how many states there are in the land he would be governing) he didn't bother with Alaska -- the largest state in the Union. He said his campaign couldn't justify it. Wonder how much it cost to send people to Guam? A trip to Appalachia might have served him better than the world tour. And how many states had Obama visited before he started his campaign? He hadn't even been to his mother's birthplace till his stump.

And as long as you want to go there -- how many countries has Michelle visited in an ambassador role? How much charity work has she done abroad? Has she ever gone to another country in the service of others? And Mrs McCain? Mrs Biden?

Prior to his world adulation tour - Obama had visited Iraq/Kuwait ONCE - as had Gov Palin. Obama refused to go to Afghanistan when he had the chance and instead went to meet with Arab leaders in Jordan, Qatar and Palestine. He had spent a total of one night in the UK on his way home from Russia. ONE NIGHT ON EUROPEAN SOIL until 15 months into his campaign. And guess what? He's running for president. You want to compare foreign travel? McCain has been to Iraq EIGHT times and Biden runs laps around Obama. Everything you write about her inexperience leads back to obama's bu he's running for president.

All of you were shell-shocked by her speech. She was far and away better than obama. Why? She's real. Something Obama can't even fake. Watch how does without his protective cloak of the adoring media. You know axelrod is "flummoxed."

37 Million people watched Gov Palin -- the same as watched the King of the Cosmos pontificating to the world in front his stryofoam! columns. I'm sure the $10M "she raised" didn't cover the down payment on his pageantry. And it looks like he's gonna need every penny to do some real talking to some real people and look them in the eye instead of preaching to the "American people".

Fineman - Why are you not writing about Sarah Palin being a COWARD?!!! Sarah Palin - A Coward!! Why is she ducking the press - Executive Privilege? Sound familiar - Bush/Cheney/McCain and abuse of power. Oh - don't forget about Rove!

Palin's refusal to take questions -- from the press or investigators -- tells us about her character. How else will voters get the right to decide who we are voting for unless she comes forward to speak about her policy positions. Don't think just because she is a woman who happens to be pretty is going to get her anywhere! We would like to know where she stands on a number of important and vital issues to this country?

Correction: If you haven't noticed - it now seems that McCain-Palin ticket as well as the campaign and entire republic party is now stealing Obama's ideas and run on change all of a sudden!! If you listen to McCain's speech - he even used Obama's ideas from his Denver speech!!!!

Obama passed one of the landmark laws in ethics in an effort to clean up washington you idiot!! Because of Obama working with republicans - no one can take gifts/bribes from lobbyiest to drive and serve their own interests!!! Why do you think McCain is having such a hard time with all the lobbyiest on his team now?!! Now guess who else has them - even though she "says" no earmarks and big oil?!! This woman is a puppet and nothing but a smokescreen for the republican party! Palin is a joke who confronts the media and then shows her cowardess by refusing to speak with them! And you actually want this character type in Washington running our country? Haven't you learned your lesson by now over the past eight years? You are no better off today than you were 8 years ago because of Bush-Palin - McCain and Cheney!! No one is! ENOUGH!!!

As a woman with five children and if I recall, does not believe in abortion or birth control; how long before she is pregnant herself? I am all for women having equal rights, but as a woman with a child, I would not trust my judgement with issuse that affect millions of people, while I'm having a hormonal meltdown. I know this is not something that would be questioned of the men running, but the men running, don't have babies.
There are sooooo many more problems with her as McCain's VP, I don't know where to start. Don't call yourself a pitbull and then get mad when treated as such. It's the old, "Go away", "No, come back" trick. Either you are to soft and frilly to take a hit, or you are a pitbull and can handle yourself. Which is it?

Sarah Palin - More Reasons Why Democrats Are Cowering

Sarah Palin ardently supports an all-inclusive energy plan, whereas Obama and Biden refuse to support any inclusion of fossil fuels and nuclear technology.

Sarah Palin has more foreign trade experience than both Obama and Biden. since she has protected the US fishery and oil industries from Canadian and Russian competition.

Sarah Palin has actually opposed Big Oil companies, and returned excess windfall profits to the Alaskan taxpayers, whereas Obama and Biden merely propose that they will do likewise.

Sarah Palin has more direct experience with the US Navy and Coast Guard than Obama and Biden.

Sarah Palin has a son who is in the US military and will soon serve in Iraq, whereas Obama and Biden do not have any family member willing to risk his or her life to serve their country.

Sarah Palin has actually demonstrated her ability to effect meaningful political change, whereas Obama and Biden have merely promised to do so in a non-specific manner.

Sarah Palin demonstrates a determination and ability to reform the way politics is conducted in Washington, whereas Obama and Biden merely suggest that they will bring about some vague undefined form of change.

Sarah Palin believes and has demonstrated that a woman can earn what she is worth, whereas Obama and Biden subscribe to the equal pay and affirmative action legislative approach to salary determination for women.

Sarah Palin supports a moral stand which respects the dignity of all human life, even its most vulnerable, whereas Obama stance on abortion is one of shallow political opportunism.

God help us if somehow John McCain is elected and Sarah Palin is VP. not that McCain is a bad person, but Sarah Pail would be a heartbeat away from the highest office.
I read a letter from a fellow Alaskan that knows her. Everyone should read it before they think of voting for the Mccain/palin ticket.

Part 1 Who got Obama started in his political career? William Ayers, of course, is the Weather Underground bomber. And Obama began his career, his coming out party in 1995, and Ayers and Bernadine Dorns home.
And then for, you know, some 20 years, Obama has been working with Ayers, certainly since 1995, on a series of foundations: the Annenberg Foundation and the Woods Foundation. The boards of directors together, or in the Annenberg Foundation, Ayers created it, and Obama was on it. And together they spent the money of these foundations to implement their radical socialist agenda.
A lot of people say, no, they just know each other. They???re not friends. Just because -- you know, just because they worked on boards together.
Obama was in 1995 going to take the seat of Alice Palmer, who is also an extreme socialist. She???s an African-American who had actually gone to Russia and had attended communist party meetings and reported on them. And it was all very much of a leftist gathering.
Ayers and Dorns were like the stamp of approval on Obama, introducing them to their click of leftist friends for funding and for advancing his candidacy. So that very beginning was a chosen intentionally association with Ayers and Dorns to launch Obama`s career, and Obama knew exactly what he was doing picking him.
Senator Obama is the one who???s saying, "This is just another guy in my neighborhood," but in fact, that???s not true at all. It may turn out to be that they had a much closer relationship through their work together on the Annenberg Challenge to create their ideas to control the government and its people that???s the challenge!
His agenda -- I believe, in 2001, in which Ayers was unrepentant, saying that he wished he bombed more. And obama???s greatest influence is
Saul Alinsky he was a radical socialist organizer. His main book was "Rules for Radicals." His methodology was you go in as a community organizer. That means, really, a rabble-rouser.
You rub raw the discontent of the community, almost in a communist sense. You find class antagonisms. You learn to speak the grievances in the people???s own logic and language, and then you go for radical redistribution of income and wealth through gaming power and mobilizing the community. Making them think that your working for them by doing small stuff that seems to help but ultimately you gain far more than the people you help it???s a trick to get them on your side because it seems you care about them and in turn they move you to the top of the political ladder!

I was pretty let down and somewhat appalled by Howard's comments yesterday on I believe MSNBC, as it's obvious to me he's wimped out by the threats of the RNC. Give me a break Howard, you looked like a scared little boy. We want journalists that stand firm on their beliefs, not fall prey to the thuggery of the RNC.

Mr. Fineman, I posted yesterday that I heard you say on Hardball that the GOP might try and keep Palin away from the media. I heard your report last night after the convention about how Palin was going back to Alaska until mid-week. I HOPE you heard RICK DAVIS, the McCain campaign manager, say today on Morning Joe that their bottom line is WINNING! And that if they feel they will have a better chance of winning by keeping Palin away from the Sunday talk shows, press conferences, anchor interviews, etc., they will!! I cannot believe the arrogance of these people! Davis said it is THEIR RIGHT to run their campaign as they see fit. Well, yes that's true, but what about OUR RIGHT to hear the possible next VP (and possible president) speak in UNSCRIPTED formats on the major issues of the day? And NOT just ONE debate! We can all remember how sometimes the SUBSTANCE of debates gets TRUMPED by stylistics or superficialities like Gore's sighing or going into Bush's 'space' in the 2000 debates. I'm NOT knocking the debates - the more the better! BUT - Palin needs to be questioned often in multiple venues in the next 60 days. Obama, Biden, and McCain have put themselves out there COUNTLESS times over the past 19 months in UNSCRIPTED settings. Even TIM PAWLENTY agreed to go on Meet the Press last week (late Wed. or early Thurs. because I got an email from MTP saying Pawlenty would be the guest Thurs.A.M.)when everyone - including Pawlenty - thought he was going to be the VP pick. And OBAMA and BIDEN were on 60 Minutes last Sunday. RICK DAVIS gave as an excuse this morning that BIDEN had not been on TV last weekend - WRONG! And Steve Kroft said that McCain and Palin had been invited to appear. I just hope the media will HOUND people like Rick Davis, Steve Schmidt, etc. and point out that the PEOPLE have a RIGHT to hear their VP candidate speak out on the issues! I know Palin has said she doesn't even know what a VP does - and that she just isn't interested in foreign policy and has no opinion on Iraq - BUT - we have the right to see if she is up to speed NOW on both foreign and domestic issues!

Sarah Palin claimed she never called the State Trooper Magistrate to have her ex-brother-in-law fired. Soon after investigators got on the seen, emails were retrieved to dispute that fact, and now all seven of Sarah's state appointees have refused to testify. It has been learned that more than 20+ plus calls were made to the State Trooper Magistrate regarding the firing of Sarah's brother-in-law, and because the seven witnesses have 'lawyered-up', the investigators must use subpoenas to get the seven that initially volunteered to testify to give an account of what happened.

McCain and Rove accused Obama of picking Virginia Governor Tim Kane as VP for political expediency, and also because Tim Kane would bring a southern state into the Democratic "Win Column". Instead Obama went for Senator Joe Biden to sure up the leadership ticket for the White House. McCain assuming it would be an Obama-Kane ticket, wrongly accused Obama of putting politics ahead of country. Well McCain and Rove got busted. The whole world (except blinded Religious-Right) witnessed McCain picking the least qualified Republican to be his VP in hopes of: (1.) stealing Hillary's voters from Obama; (2.) pleasing James Dobson's religious-right. Clearly a hypocritical VP pick by McCain for the "sole purpose of political ambitions", is now on record for the world???s eternal observation.

It was McCain's responsibility to be in Pastor Rick Warren's "Cone of Silence" before Senator Obama got the first question. McCain was not in the cone-of-silence. Therefore McCain cheated. The issue is not whether McCain heard any of the questions posed to Obama, the issue is that cheating did occur when McCain did not follow the rules to be where he was suppose to be, at the time he was suppose to be there.

Senator Obama was consistent in his call for a responsible U.S. troop withdrawal from Iraq under an agreed timetable. McCain and Bush said "absolutely" no timetables and anything like timetables was tantamount to "cut-and-run". It was Bush and McCain's desire to stay in Iraq indefinitely. Only after Obama took McCain's challenge and went to Iraq & Afghanistan, and secured an informal agreement to pull U.S. troops out by 2010, did Bush and McCain changed there views to accept timetables. Now Bush and McCain don't call timetables cut-and-run any longer.

Fineman is taking the usual kitty kat path on Palin because the Republicans are demonizing the Press about their unqualified White Girl Affirmative Action candidate. The press took the lazy way out with Bush /Cheney and this god forsaken Iraq war. Now NEWSWEEK must DO THEIR JOB. AND REPORT THE REAL FACTS! NOT THE SPIN. THE PRESS cannot allow the Republicans to ONCE again present an OUT AND OUT LIAR and his PIXIE as legitimate Presidential and Vice Presidential Candidates. The world today is TOO COMPLEX and this country has sacrificed too many lives to allow this Disfunctional Republican FAMILY VALUES Circus to go UNANSWERED!

McCain blew his chance to roll out his VP choice in a positive light. Great for the right-wing Limbaugh listening base, but not so great for the majority of Americans who are tired of divisive Rove style partisanship and gridlock. After a brief attempt at an upbeat bio, someone cried havoc, and released this self-described pitbull of war. Palin came across as narrow-minded, mean-spirited , sarcastic, smug - well, essentially George W. Bush with a beehive hairdo. Speaking of W., his party kept him at satellite length and gave him less than eight minutes of their time - how pathetic is that.

I find Sarah Palin a poor example of any kind of leader. Doe's being a PTA president make her qualified?
And what kind of mother takes on such a huge responsibility when her own daughter needs her mom the most. I don't care if I were asked to be the VP, my family comes first. I think she has sold out her daughter for her own ego and personal fame.
