Palin Goes Prime Time

You say, "No one in recent memory has been nominated for vice president with such a thin traditional resume."

The same applies to OBAMA! No one in recent memory has been nominated for PRESIDENT with such a thin traditional resume. You can't have your cake and eat it too!

I'll give the GOP the benefit of the doubt that perhaps Obama was inexperienced 2 years ago when the primaries started. However, in the past 2 years he has managed a $30 + million business each month and become familiar with all of the national issues facing us.

Let's be realistic, the issues of a small town and the the 48th populated state do not begin to give her the background to deal with these national issues. In 60 days she can do all the cramming in the world, but what she won't be able to gain the knowledge about these issues that a vice president. In addition, she'll have to campaign during this same time period. There is only so many hours in a day.

McCain's choice of Palin proves him incompetent and reckless. McCain had only met Palin ONCE(!) before he chose her to be his running mate. His staff had not vetted her. And yet he chose her to be a 72-76 year old heartbeat away from the presidency of the United States of America. McCain's poor judgement mirrors that of Bush's. Palin (and all republicans), continue to give big oil ownership of America, your wallet, and eventually your mortgage. Not to mention the fact that conservative republicans DESPISE the Constitution of the United States, (not that Americans really care about small details like that - their main concern is being able to afford milk right now.)

So Palin plans to ???introduce??? herself to the American people. Here are a few items I hope she explains.

First of all, I would like to explain why she calls herself a reformer. She originally backed Ted Stephens infamous bridge to no-where. She got an endorsement from the disgraced Ted Stevens. As mayor and governor, she lobbied for millions of dollars in earmarks - the very practices that McCain claims to deplore. It seems like Palin, like all her Republican predecessors, view the government as a sort of Home Town Buffet where every body just helps themselves

I hope she can explain to all the working moms out there why they should not get equal pay.

For the sports fishermen out there, I hope she can explain why she has refused to protect the salmon fisheries in Bristol Bay from the toxic chemicals from the Pebble open pit gold and copper mine. The Bristol Bay fishery is the larges wild salmon fishery on the west coast.

I also hope she can say something to all the soccer moms who lost husbands in industrial accidents. According to the recent issue of USW@Work, 5,840 workers died in 2006 in work place accidents. (That???s the same year she took office.) Approximately 50,000 to 60,000 workers die from occupational diseases. I hope she can explain why she supports a party that is virulently anti-union and wants to destroy all work place safety regulations.

I hope she can explain why she does not believe in global warming - or why she believes that global warming is a natural occurance, and not man made. I hope she can tells us what will happen when the Ice Cap of the North Pole disappears. And since Palin is an expert of foreign affairs, I hope she can explain what will happen when the permafrost of Siberia melts releasing millions of ton of greenhouse gases, an event that will certainly disrupt a lot of soccer games.

For the benefit of all the soccer moms out there, I hope Palin repeats what she said during her gubernatorial campaign, namely that if her own daughter were raped, her daughter would not get an abortion. I hope Palin tells all the soccer moms that when the Republicans are in power, they will appoint Supreme Court judges that will ban all abortions, How will that prospect fit in with most soccer Moms?

While we???re on the subject of the future Supreme Courts, I hope Palin can explain that her idea of a dream team Supreme would consist of judges who not only ban all abortions, but also ban all forms of stem cell research. I hope that she realizes that stem cell research might produce treatments that would help many seveely disabled Iraqi war veteras, but I guess Palin doen't care about that

I realize that Palin is all about symbols and metaphors and McCain has declared that this election has no issues.

Very well. It's time to turn this country over to people who can see issues affecting people's lives - namely the Democrats, headed by Barack Obama

President Palin announced today, that the US military will invade Cancun Mexico. Administration sources say that the decision was based on the Mayor on Cancun, refusing to fire " that little tramp, who was rubbing lotion on my husband".

To bad she isn't a democrat. She could be VP for Obama, and bring some real experience to that ticket.

It is amazing how much attention the liberal media is putting on Palin. I guess that'stheir way of shifting the country's focus on Obama's lack of experience. Let's not forget that he "Obama" is the one running for President with only 1.5 years in Washington. It is ridiculous to be going after palin's daughter, her daughter's boy friend, or her freaking dog. CNN, MSNBC and Newsweek, you guys make me sick. You are doing it again, as you did onto Hillary.....

Howard - After watching the RNC Convention the past two days, we are all talking in the office today, that everytime the camera pans the crowd, there are no black people, hispanic people or even asian people. Are we missing something, or are our folks being placed in the rafters. Does the GOP stand for GOOD 'OL (WHITE) PEOPLE, and how does the Republicans think we wouldnt notice? Myself and my coworkers are convinced that this party is really out of touch by the make-up of the American people.
