Unscripted? Is that the word you meant to use?

She has been in the Cone of Silence for al this time and her speech is unscripted?

This is a person who pushes the privacy interests of her daughter and family aside to enhance her naked ambition. Of course, she will do the bidding and say what she's told to say.

I have serious MSM and Obama fatigue. The Palin family is a breath of fresh air. These are people who work hard, play hard, and don't mind getting a little. OMG, they are alive! While I don't agree with all of Sarah Palin's policy positions, I like her style. America needs optimistic, results oriented, risk taking, energetic leaders more than it needs grim, serious Washington D.C. intellectuals like Barack Obama. Go McCain/Palin!

RE: "America needs optimistic, results oriented, risk taking, energetic leaders more than it needs grim, serious Washington D.C. intellectuals like Barack Obama."

YES! We need FUN people! Like George Bush! That worked out GREAT!

      • Posted By: Donna1000 @ 09/03/2008 4:02:48 PM

George Bush fun? I don't think so.

        • Posted By: redfishbluefishonestatetwostate @ 09/03/2008 7:23:23 PM

Point is, everybody *said* he was fun. "A guy you'd like to have a beer with." A good ol' boy. A real person. Not a stuffed shirt like all those other politicians. So we went with him. And now everybody disowns him, as if they never liked him. Now we're saying that about Palin... good, easy-going family woman. A woman you'd love to go shoot guns with, drink a beer, skin a moose. And she'll be a breath away from the presidency. Thanks, but no thanks. Been there, done that.

Imagine that . Howard Fineman writing a hit piece on a conservative. Isn't this the same fellow who hangs with that democrat lapdog Steve Olberman?

    • Posted By: SPORTLOCK09 @ 09/03/2008 4:38:29 PM

Fineman would prefer women not be able to vote. Look at the way he made a GOVERNOR look like she is unqualified to cast a ballot muchless be on one. Then again, who's a governor and who's writing opinions for NEWSWEEK. Howard, you once again showed you have no class at all.

      • Posted By: Middlecrass @ 09/03/2008 5:09:50 PM

        TROLL

        • Posted By: AskPlus @ 09/03/2008 7:00:50 PM

          And completely classless. Bigoted too.

          • Posted By: SPORTLOCK09 @ 09/03/2008 7:18:48 PM

Hey I never mentioned why you have to register as a sex offender did I?

  • Posted By: CaroleCa @ 09/03/2008 4:14:29 PM

Let's all talk about the real pink elephant in the room. Charges of sexism to critics of Palin don't apply. McCain did what we women have seen for years and is indeed the REAL sexism--he picked the good looking (let's face it, sexy) lesser qualified woman over an astounding number of extremely well qualified middle-aged and not-so-hot conservative women available for the position. I'm seeing intelligent and well-known, well-vetted and emininantly qualified republican women leaders being interviewed ABOUT Palin all over the place and I wish they'd been interviewed FOR the job.

    • Posted By: SPORTLOCK09 @ 09/03/2008 4:35:01 PM

Your jealousy bleeds through your post. What happened, did your hubby ask why she can look that good with 5 kids and you look like that?

      • Posted By: AskPlus @ 09/03/2008 7:00:07 PM

I bet you're handsome, right? Was there any reason to go off on this blogger Mr. Mo-nay?

  • Posted By: SPORTLOCK09 @ 09/03/2008 4:31:54 PM

The hypocrisy of the Democrats sure makes it hard to try to find a reason to vote Obama. The way he talks about GOVERNOR Palin you'd think she was unqualified to cast a vote. Thanks anyway, you have just lost this my to the Reps.

    • Posted By: AskPlus @ 09/03/2008 6:58:52 PM

What did he say exactly? Did he pick a fight by email? Call her the A-word? The N-word? Is he short on Mo-nay?

      • Posted By: SPORTLOCK09 @ 09/03/2008 7:16:49 PM

See what I mean? Perfect example right here

  • Posted By: SPORTLOCK09 @ 09/03/2008 4:44:36 PM

How exactly is Obama MORE qualified then Palin? Did he vote PRESENT more times then she did or something? Oh yeah, Governors don't have the luxury of mis-votes and re-do's or present votes do they?

    • Posted By: AskPlus @ 09/03/2008 6:57:39 PM

Ms. Palin also hasn't the luxury of people in her constituency either. Guess she was so busy she forgot her kids. Hubby is 1300 miles away, and she forgot them.

      • Posted By: SPORTLOCK09 @ 09/03/2008 7:13:32 PM

Yet here she is running for VP and you've done what with your life? LMAO

  • Posted By: shack @ 09/03/2008 6:04:47 PM

Question: Is Sarah Palin (a) the new William E. ("who?") Miller; (b) the new Thomas F. Eagleton, (c) both of the above?

    • Posted By: SPORTLOCK09 @ 09/03/2008 7:07:21 PM

3 strikes your out!!!!! (d) The new VP of the United States of America!!!!!

  • Posted By: bhdfield @ 09/03/2008 7:04:53 PM

How about a truly unscripted Palin speech. Look at this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QG1vPYbRB7

  • Posted By: JKnow @ 09/03/2008 7:04:36 PM

Does this remind anyone of the Harriet Myers for Supreme Court Justice incident????

  • Posted By: Suellen @ 09/03/2008 7:02:58 PM

Unscripted? This speech may be the least unscripted event of either convention.

  • Posted By: CybScryb @ 09/03/2008 7:02:06 PM

Excuse me??? An "unscripted" moment??? Since when is reading a speech that was written before you're selected for the position anything but a heavily scripted moment?

I think Sarah Palin is a wonderful pick for vice President. She demostrates that longterm Democratic policies have caused our current energy crisis. Her husband who works for British Petroleum should be working for the former American owned Arco Oil Company. Arco Oil Company with its substantial oil reserves should have bought British Petroleum instead of British Petroleum buying out Arco Oil Company. Barack Obama complained at his acceptance speech in Denver about oil company tax breaks and praised the alleged jobs created under the administration of Bill Clinton. The following story should shed light on Obama???s praise of the economic policies of Bill Clinton. While camping and attending a bluegrass music festival, I took a tour of Comanche Peak Power Plant, the last nuclear power plant built in the United States. The plant is unobtrusive and is at perfect harmony with its environment. It is located near Glen Rose Texas a beautiful area that has bluegrass band festivals in the summer. It is a wonderful scenic country area and home to Dinosaur World and a state park. There are dinosaur tracks from 100 million years ago along the riverbed that can be seen in the water due to erosion and some say that the tracks are heading in the direction of New York City. The Brazos River flows through the area and the place is an environmental heaven. There used to be an old green Sinclair Oil Company dinasour statue that stood at the park. Ironically most of the stations and assets of Sinclair Oil Company was bought by Arco Oil Company. Arco Oil Company was considered the jewell of all American oil companies for having explored and developed the Alaskan North Slope and at one time owning eighty percent of our proven Alaskan oil reserves. Arco Oil Company was subsequently bought out later by foreign owned British Petroleum during the second administration of Bill Clinton. The point of this comment is twofold. The long-term hostility of the Democratic Party leadership toward United States owned energy companies has led to the sale of United States oil companies to foreign interests and that nuclear power plants can even be located next to wonderful wildlife and park areas and make good unobtrusive neighbors. Arco Oil Company with its substantial Alaskan oil reserves should have bought out British Petroleum instead of the other way around. Comanche Peak in Glen Rose the last nuclear power plant built in the United States symbolizes the death of the American owned nuclear power industry and the decline of United States owned oil companies due to the hostile business environment created by Democratic Party leadership. Sinclair Oil Company and Arco Oil no longer exist, British Petroleum has replaced them under the second Democratic administration of Bill Clinton.

I bet you want her as your boss. Heaven forbid you disagree.

  • Posted By: AskPlus @ 09/03/2008 6:50:10 PM

Have you noticed that the Rep team of McCain and Palin have not been available for comment? Why is that?

  • Posted By: wysiwyg @ 09/03/2008 6:10:48 PM

America! There is no other country like it!!! Given an opportunity (freedom), the citizens (a minority are voters) are bound and determined to destroy the blessings bestowed upon them.

It is important to point out that Sarah Palin is doing something with her life and trying to make a difference. Her family, as best I can tell, is like every other family in America. Anyone who has tried to manage children and work knows the challenge. Now, I don't know Sarah Palin and I don't know what motivates her. I am not her God and I don???t stand in judgment of her. I can only hope her choices are for the greater good of her family, her town, her state, her country and the world. I congratulate her for what she's done in her short career. Wishing her well, I hope her speech is a winner and inspirational to all of us.

As a matter of full disclosure, I won't be voting Republican this Fall. The last eight years, the Republican???s have had a chance to defend the country, uphold the Constitution, reduce the national debt, and most importantly honestly represent all Americans, regardless of race, creed, color or religion. By accepting the nomination of Vice-President of the United States of America, Governor Sarah Palin has unfortunately aligned herself with the most ineffectual and destructive political party of modern times. She may want to reconsider her acceptance. After all, should it not be about putting America first?

MAINSTREAM MEDIA HAS SLID INTO THE SWAMP

The Dems and Reps are left to sell their leaders to America.

Image is now everything. The real challenges have vacated consciousness.

Donna1000 writes, "While I don't agree with all of Sarah Palin's policy positions, I like her style."

A heckuva lot of people liked George W. Bush's STYLE, looking the other way on policy. Sarah Palin looks good on the stump, but once she gets into his office and her style clashes with his style (you know it will), will he even turn a half-deaf ear to her?

As I recall, Bush chose the esteemed Gen. Colin Powell as his Secretary of State. For what purpose?

    • Posted By: deepmansingh @ 09/03/2008 5:39:09 PM

      Good point, duster.

Wonder how much power / influence / freedom will be allowed for Palin, should McCain actually win ... Can't profess to know McCain, so I can't say. But it is a good question.

  • Posted By: Friendly Fired @ 09/03/2008 4:02:02 PM

Wow! Amazing that you know so much about being a mother and taking care of a Down Syndrome baby! Gov. Palin's job is to be the Vice President of the United States. It's a job that she is much more qualified to hold than Sen. Biden, let alone Sen. Obama. It's too bad that the media of the past got lost somewhere in the past year. Hopefully they can find their way back to the stables before they become Al Jazeera during the Osama Biden Administration.

Enter Your Comment To Friendly Fired: Sarah Palin is more qualified than Joseph Biden? What have you been reading lately? By the way, Joe Biden was a single father for five years, so he is as qualified as Mrs. Palin to talk about parenting issues.

"WE'RE NOT COMPAIRING APPLES WITH APPLES"!!! Let's compair McCain's experience VS Hussein Obama's... There's a huge gap there... The only excuse they have is Palin's "so called inexperience" She has far more experience than Obama.
Do you remember Rev. Wright? Or William Ayres, or perhaps Tony Rezco? Hummmm, That really says a lot about Obama's Character....

    • Posted By: notunderage @ 09/03/2008 5:31:15 PM

Enter Your Comment 1) Lean how to spell "comparing" not "compairing" 2) Quit making racist comments 3) She does NOT have more experience that Barack Obama (that's the correct spelling of his name). 4) Yes, we remember all the slanderous statements which were hurled against Obama. He's had almost 2 years' worth of slander, insults, racist slurs, inaccurate comments and innumerable blogs and slogs such as yours thrown at him. She's had 1 week of questions, mostly legitimate, from an American public wanting to know more about her positions on possibly running this country in the event McCain died on duty. To slam Obama's character one more time because you can't think of anything better to say, when all Obama has been saying this week is to leave Palin's family out of the fray, is both unreasonable and unfair. This mudslinging is getting uglier every minute.
