Palin is a quick study and will learn whatever she needs to know to be Vice President OR President.

I trust her judgement and her track record. She gets my vote. She is Reagan in a skirt. She speaks directly to the people and I for one, trust her.

You fools-Stop the hating of Obama. NO McCain, now not ever, nor pawn/Trojan horse Palin.
We wont be fooled again. GOPS cannot be trusted. Just Look what Bush did to our world and economy. I could not be more disheartened at my former coun try.He ruined much of it. We cannot afford ANY MORE repubs in POTUS. Thats it.

Id rather have an unprepared VP than an unprepared President. From the CSPAN Alaska Gov debate, I have less of a worry that she is extreemly intellegent, superbly articulate and more than abundantly able to think on her feet. Osama Obama cant talk without a teleprompter. Its not rocket science, you just have to filter out the BS in articles like this that muddy the water.

  • Posted By: willnotvoteobama @ 09/08/2008 7:07:53 AM

LMFAO McCAIN GOT A BIGGER BOUNCE! THE ROCK STAR OBAMA IS WISHING HE HAD PICKED HILARY FOR VP AND WILL REALLY WISH IT IN NOVEMBER WHEN HIS RUN TANKS! OR IT COULD BE ALL THOSE AMERICAN FLAGS THAT WERE THROWN IN THE TRASH AT MILE HIGH! WHO KNOWS BUT ITS CLEAR THAT THE POLLS SHOW McCAIN WITH A 4 PT LEAD AND HIS BOUNCE STILL GOT 2 DAYS TO GO UNTILL WE SEE IT ALL! HMMM BYE BYE OBAMA!

  • Posted By: Mimi13 @ 09/05/2008 10:35:38 AM

What struck me about McCain's speech was that he railed against a "do-nothing, me-first" climate in Washington. Who was he talking about? The GOP has controlled Washington for the past 8 years. Even with a Democratic Congress for the past 20 months, the narrowness of the majority made any activity not sanctioned by the White House impossible. Is McCain running against his own party? It's a smart move if hr can pull it off -- but are the majority of Americans really that clueless?

    • Posted By: Davole @ 09/08/2008 1:15:17 AM

      Mimi13 -

No, it's only the obamabots that are, as you say, "really that clueless"!

  • Posted By: Mimi13 @ 09/08/2008 1:10:54 AM

John McCain can trot out his dotty 96-year-old mother as often as he likes. It doesn't change the fact that his father dropped dead at 70 and his grandfather died at 63 -- both from sudden heart attacks. McCain is 72. Maybe he's got the dotty mother genes -- but what if he's his father's son? Does ANYONE really think Sarah Palin is fit to be the President of the United States.

  • Posted By: willnotvoteobama @ 09/06/2008 11:13:02 AM

HEY WE CAN USE JOHN McCAIN'S MIDDLE NAME(SIDNEY) AND JOE BIDEN'S MIDDLE NAME(ROBINETTE) OR EVEN SARAH PALIN'S MIDDLE NAME (HEATH) BUT YOU BETTER NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT MENTIONING BARACK OBAMA'S MIDDLE NAME BECAUSE IF YOU DO THEN YOU ARE TRYING TO SCARE PEOPLE ! IT IS HUSSEIN ! THAT DON'T SCARE ME BUT HIS POLICIES DO !!

Finally, HIrsch, an international affairs expert, is saying something THAT MATTERS on global affairs and foreign policy which is correct, credible and worthy of recognition and respect all around the world. Palin is totally unschooled in foreign affairs. How she could discuss political issues intelligently with Chancellor Angela Merkel of Germany , doctor of physics and political veteran beats me.

    • Posted By: SEA Observer @ 09/04/2008 12:32:06 PM

Well, Obama would be in the same boat. would he not?

      • Posted By: Paula_SA @ 09/04/2008 1:12:25 PM

Perhaps. I dont know. He certainly never talked about it. So I presume he doesnt know as well. This is a truly bizarre election.

        • Posted By: stematwork @ 09/04/2008 1:49:06 PM

you didn't hold obama, who's running for president, to the same standard you're holding palin, who's running for VP. that's called a double standard, and you didn't even think about it until SEA brought it up. this might be the result of the total LOVE fest obama gets in the media.

          • Posted By: Paula_SA @ 09/05/2008 2:42:55 AM

Well, get this. Obama has Biden, Chief of the Senate Committee on Foreign Affars. Palin, who never even summoned the National Guard nor held any significant with the OIl and Gas Committee is accompanied by McCain who is a few meters from Death and is old and senile. WHO WOULD YOU CHOOSE ? I think HIllary should have won.

            • Posted By: Davole @ 09/06/2008 2:03:45 AM

              Paula_SA -

Well, John McCain, the fellow who you allege to be old and senile, sure managed to outfox Obama and Biden.

Now what does that say about them?

          • Posted By: Paula_SA @ 09/05/2008 2:52:20 AM

Stematwork, just observing the GOP - it is obvious the GOP IS BROKEN. The GOP wants to compare Palin with OBama and she hit Obama several times in her speech which was written for football moms rather than foreign policy, energy, legal, environmental issues. Now thats it proven that she knows NOTHING about foreign policy, you guys get angry. Obama who studied LAW including INTERNATIONAL LAW leads her BY A PLANET !

            • Posted By: Davole @ 09/05/2008 10:59:48 PM

No, you are obviously confused by facts and reality - Sarah Palin is a hockey mom, not a football mom.

              Now, don't you look silly?

I know - facts do tend to confuse obamabots! They can't chew bubblegum and think at the same time!

If, as you say, Hirsch is an international affairs expert, it would be interesting to hear what he would have to say about Bill Clinton!

  • Posted By: brenda in tx @ 09/04/2008 11:02:56 AM

Everything you wrote about Palin could apply to Obama. What foreign policy experience does he have.
And just where was he born, does he have a US birth certificate. I have talked to no one that likes Obama.
He talks about change, but I have never really heard him say exactly what that change would be. Maybe the
change he is talking about won't be for our good. Talk is cheap and he is good at talking. I will give him that
much. He is a smooth talker but the first time I heard him open his mouth, I knew he is a bitter hateful man.

What a maroon, lol. You're obviously not very well educated (or you're just trying to fuel the hatred and fear) because Obama couldn't be running for president if he wasn't a US citizen. Don't remember much from government class, huh? lol

    • Posted By: jlivesay @ 09/04/2008 11:42:51 AM

From Texas eh - Bush country - figures

  • Posted By: Janet @ 09/04/2008 11:33:18 AM

And How much experience does Obama have other then he grew up in another land. Does that qualify him for all the above. I think not he lacks the experience of the United States government. I have to wonder how a man from another land and his wife hate the United States so much then want to run it. The question I have is where they want to run it to? Straight to communism or simply have their own play ground to invite foreign playmates to help take over. He is a scary candidate as far as I can see and I will vote for someone who is definately set on the American People not their own career growth! This is what I see here!

    • Posted By: retired @ 09/04/2008 12:21:18 PM

Obama taught Constitutional history. He has been an American all his life. He is bright, articulate, and a quick learner. His choice of a VP shows he has executive skills beyond McCain.

Stay retired, and invite Obama to do likewise!

      • Posted By: denmill @ 09/04/2008 1:43:57 PM

Obama was a community organizer with no executive experience. His VP has been a senator for 36 years with no executive experience. joe Baden only experience is listening to committee report. We small business owners all across the US have way more executive experience than these two people. So enough with Sarah Palin. She is great. She actually has done some positive and bold things as a real CEO.. No more empty talks! NOBAMA!!!!

      • Posted By: bluebloodedLV @ 09/04/2008 12:53:58 PM

Obama taught constitutional law. His dedication is to the average American people, not to the corporations that keep sending our jobs overseas. Thats the question people need to ask themselves, do you support the people or the corporations? But, telling a neocon about Obama's vast constitional knowledge means nothing, because they really don't respect the constituion. The Bush administration has been shitting on the constituion since 2001. McCain-Palin want to amend the constitution by writing discrimination into it (the opposite of what America is about) trying to legislate morality by controlling womens uteruses and legislating who you can marry as defined by their own views. Again, not what America stands for. Our reputation around the world is at steak. You neocons will say "who cares what the rest of the world thinks, it doesn't matter." Well it does matter if you want the rest of the world to buy our products! It's the economy stupid. It's global and we need to be able to count on the demand of foreign countries, especially if we want to dig ourselves out of the unprecedented debt the Bush administration has created.

I am first an Amrican, but an Independent, by choice. I was strongly leaning to McCain, but I cannot vote for a man who so recklessley chosen the indvidual for vp I have gotten past all the other issues But for foriegn policy no-way. She is having to be tutored on it. If John McCain would have chosen some-one else then I would have went for his ticket.. Male or female black or white. I don,t care. At least obamma made a good call for vp, and if something bad should befall obamma , at least I could sleep knowing that There is someone at the Helm!!!!!

    • Posted By: SEA Observer @ 09/04/2008 4:08:40 PM

Your logic is weird! You worry that Mrs Palin does not have enough experience to be president, yet you are casting a vote for Obama who so far talk a good talk but does not have any experience to back up his talk???

      • Posted By: bluebloodedLV @ 09/04/2008 4:39:34 PM

It's perfect logic. Obama has proven himself and look how long it took - over a year. She only has 2 months and she has to literally cram on foreign policy. McCain is a 72 year old cancer survivor and it's much more likely that something bad would befall him healthwise than Obama. Logically, Biden has much more to offer than Palin.

        • Posted By: Paula_SA @ 09/05/2008 2:47:01 AM

I dont think its a case of total love of the media by Obama. Obama, who you conveniently forgot is a lawyer AND TAUGHT LAW, together with BIden will still be far better. It is COMMON SENSE. You cant expect a miracle to happen with the same party. HOW DO YOU REPAIR AMERICA´s IMAGE ABROAD with a dying presidential candidate and a wee town beauty princess who never summoned the National Guard ?

Sarah Palin - Summary of Reasons Why Democrats Are Cowering

Sarah Palin appears to have diligently studied and worked to graduate from university, whereas Obama prompts one to wonder whether affirmative action was the major factor that enabled him to receive a degree.

Sarah Palin???s popularity and support is based on her ability and accomplishments, whereas Obama???s is based primarily on the fact that he is partially black.

Sarah Palin demonstrates that she is one of the people, whereas Obama portrays himself as an elitist.

Sarah Palin can deliver a specific, focused, energetic, and rousing speech without the aid of a teleprompter, unlike Obama who incompetently relies on speaking the pathetic foreign language of ???uhs and ahs???.

And John McCain, the elderly Senator who is often denigrated by democrats due to his age, has demonstrated that his mind is still keen enough to outfox his opposition by the excellent selection of Sarah Palin to be his VP candidate!

Can anyone of you on here tell me something Obama actually stands for? Not something he has said in one of his speeches, not something he has claimed in one city and then contradicted in another, but something he actually stands for with regards to voting record? Has anyone of you bothered to look at his, albeit short, voting record? He is the epitome of saying what people want to hear when they want to hear it. I can tell people tomorrow is going to be a brighter day, but it doesn't mean I can deliver it. Sales 101 is to be as vague as possible with your promises so that you cannot be backed into a corner, and Obama is selling America. He votes to repeal tax cuts, he has voted in favor of full-term abortions, and in favor of higher capital gains taxes on your home, and in favor of higher estate taxes.

This is the most ignorant string of posts I have seen all week. Most of you are just spouting more lies you learned from Fox and Limbaugh. We can truly see who Palin inspires, what a disgrace to our great country, just as Bush is a disgrace to the presidency. At the Dem convention, you heard about actual plans for the future of our country delivered in a postivie message. Anything they said about McCain/Bush voting records, and their plans for the country was the TRUTH and can be fact checked. Last night, you heard more and more OUTRIGHT lies by Palin and the others, trying to scare all you feeble minded greedy people into voting for them again. It disturbs me to the core that you all think you love your country more. I call bullshit. If you did, you couldn't possibly support their failed policies again and again and again. You would have questioned your plain dumb president Bush and you would have questioned your government, the act of a true patriot. You would seek a change from the last 8 years of failure and that is NOT what McCain/Palin represent. You all have selective memory and create your own reality. Must make life nice and simple. Too bad in the mean time your country is going to hell in a hand basket.

Davole might want to actually do a little research before posting "facts". Joe Biden in fact does have a son deploying to Iraq, so I guess he does "have a family member willing to risk his life to serve his country."

So, it looks as though Biden's son, as a Captain in the Judge Advocate General's office, won't have to serve "in harm's way" on his tour in Iraq.

Has Biden bothered to publicly thank John McCain for his support of the surge that has greatly lessened security concerns for American and Iraqi troops serving in that country?

    BIngo!!!

Biden is a member of the Delaware Army National Guard, and serves as a Captain in the Judge Advocate General's office. In August 2007, he received notice that his unit would be deployed to Iraq some time in 2008. He is officially scheduled to deploy on October 3, 2008, the day after his father participates in the campaign's only vice presidential debate. Just so Davole knows the exact facts.
