Foreign and Domestic Policy Experience. Lets take it away.

Obama goes for Sam Power, before we find out that she is a PLO shill and refers to Hillary as a ''monster''. He then reaches for Tony Lake and Susan Rice. The very architects of Africas many strongman coup disasters of the 1990s that culminated in the Rwandan genocide debacle.Their power-sharing advice to President Clinton in Sierra Leone only got more people killed . Jimmy Johnson was chosen to vet veep picks, and was thus expected to find a slot in a WH advisory role, until we found out that he copped sweetheart mortgage deals from lobbyist loan company COUNTRYWIDE at the height of the sub-prime mess. Eric Holder is on board for an Obama AG slot, but his reputation was sullied by the Marc Rich pardon. Allison Davis is on board to take HUD,but he is an associate of Tony Rezko partnering with him and Obama during the REZMAR slumlord period in late 1990s Chicago.[ we should recall that HUD stands for ''Housing and Urban Development'']. On the heels of this,Obama has stated that he will establish a ''Office of Urban Policy''inside of the White House with only one name thus far being floated.. Chicago Mayor Richard Daley, who joined a pack of mob stooges at a big soiree inside of the Chicago Como Inn,where the stooges emerged with a 100 million dollar affirmative action construction contract that was poured into their pockets, while the slums got slummier, and Daley goes before Chicago Tribune reporters with an ''I don't know how that happened''spiel, when forced to explain himself. Even veteran Chicago reporters of the old Mike Royko strain are horrified,as they see a transfer of Chicago mob politics into the White House which will create scandals that will make Bush look like a saint by comparison. The fact remains that the ''vig''will have to be paid. And we will continue to suffer for it,under the groaning mantle of ''change''.

"We need to get beyond Troopergate, Bridgegate and, above all, Daughtergate. Can we dabble in substance for a moment?" Seriously? We are presented with a VP candidate who is virtually unknown and who has a very short record on foreign or domestic issues. What we DO know is that she is currently under investigation for abuse of power, she played a part in a fiasco involving hundreds of millions of dollars, and she has an unwed/pregnant/teenage daughter despite being a vociferous advocate of "abstinence-only education.". And you don't think these matters deserve further exploration?

    • Posted By: slknight @ 09/04/2008 2:34:24 PM

Enter Your Comment I thought you wanted to get beyond "Daughtergate" sounds like you just brought that back into play. Anyone who has teenagers knows that the best you can do is try to teach them to make good decisions and to face the conciquences when they don't. You cannot show me a teenager who always makes the decision that their parents would have them make, but then again we are not trying to raise them to be robots we are trying to raise them to be responsible free thinking adults, so this is really a nonissue.

Sarah Palin - The Reason Why Democrats Are Cowering

Sarah Palin was already in elected office while Obama was merely a community organizer.

Sarah Palin has more executive experience (as a successful business owner, Mayor, and Governor) than both the democrat candidate for President and the one for Vice President.

Sarah Palin has actually served a longer term as a Governor than Obama has served as a Senator who almost immediately upon becoming a senator, decided to run for President.

As a Governor, Sarah Palin has actually set and balanced budgets, whereas Obama and Biden have, as Senators, merely proposed more spending without any concern for how their proposals would bloat the federal budget.

Sarah Palin has actually decided to and achieved a reduction in her Governor???s salary and fringe benefits, whereas Obama merely fixates on his pay grade.

Sarah Palin has actually reduced government spending by selling on eBay the Alaskan Governor???s airplane, thereby returning the money to the citizens, whereas Obama and Biden have merely talked about reducing spending in an unspecified manner.

Sarah Palin has actually opposed her Republican Party by defeating a corrupt incumbent Republican governor, whereas Obama and Biden have never even denounced an unscrupulous democrat, let alone attempted to remove one from office.

Sarah Palin has not resorted to throwing any of her past and current supporters under the bus, whereas Obams has discarded several, including one convicted felon.

Sarah Palin demonstrates a loving respect for and appreciation of her parents, whereas Obama exhibits repulsion toward his promiscuous father who abandoned him, and contempt for his grandmother who he has described as being a typical white woman.

Sarah Palin will be consistent in her statements voiced throughout the many cities and towns in the US, whereas Obama says one thing in Scranton and then the opposite in San Francisco.

Sarah Palin has actually voted in favour of, or against bill propositions, whereas Obama, on 130 occasions, has lamely voted present.

Are you working for their campaign? Give me a break please. You obviously did not ever hear of this woman until now and now you are trying to provide us with research of a woman we know nothing about, but you trust her right, and McCain? Are you happy with how Americans are living now and have been living for the past 8yr? Gas, war, food, education, and healthcare to name a few...

Enter Your Comment It amazes me how so many poeple bring up that we don't even know who Sarah Palin is but seem to forget that until Obama decided to run for president no one knew who he was either. So just because he has been on the campain circut longer means we really know him.

Very well put and I agree 100%. I have not been 100% behind Bush, he has made mistakes but the idea of Obama being in his position scares the heck out of me. What would have happened if Obama was in office during 911? Do you really think he would have been capable of handling such a crisis? Think about who would best serve this country and who would be a desisive thinker and true patriot! Not Obama!!

But ,Palin meets the same criteria that the voters who put bush in office are "STUPID " enough to repeat .Stupid is , as stupid does. Mccain called bush ,"dumb as a stump in 2000 " and not the Stump and Stupid are running for the Offices occupied by WAR CRIMINALS ,so how bad can they be. Why should we Georgia's sovereignty be compromised because they have a "history with Russia?" In Obama's America we would have negotiated with Hitler because Poland and Germany had a "history." What experience does Obama have in foreign affairs? How has time as a community planner or his 200-some days as a senator prepared him so much better than her? Is Sen. Biden giving him a crash course? Because "college-style cramming produces a rather shallow pool of knowledge."

    • Posted By: jquickp @ 09/04/2008 2:17:55 PM

Obviously you know nothing about history. The Europeans sat back and let Germany do whatever it wanted to. Even after they evaded Poland, the Europeans just said, "That's okay, if you don't do any more"
Talk about weak. How much foreign affairs experienced did GW have? And as for McSame, being a POW doesn't make you a army man or a military man. It makes you shot down and captured. He is an expert on prison camps, so maybe he can clear up the Gitmo mess. Also,Obama is not running against Palin last time I checked. He is running against Sen McCain. Let's compare apples to apples. Palin is not the one who is going to set foreign policy or economic policy. The President will. She's just along for the ride.
Also, if you say she's qualified enough, then stop talking about qualifications period and talk some real issues. Left wingers have controlled congress for more than eight years. from 1998 until 2006. And Oh, BTW, the Democrats don't really have a majority that they can really do anything with. The left wingers have enough votes to block and lot of things. Again, the left is full of deceitful people who would have you believe that McCain will change Washington back to the Left. Heck, the Left has never gone away. But us Right Wingers are trying. You've had the last eight years, and look at the state of the country. Eight more...I don't think so.

Not only was I not going to vote for Obama because of his affiliation for years and years with a racist black church, but also because he has changed his tune more times that most people change their daily underwear, (at least twice a day) since this whole charades started.
He is black, and the Democrats went black not because Obama is the right person, but they knew he would get the black vote, good man, bad man, half man.
I might have went Democrat if he had picked Hillary. I was undecided until McCain pick who he did. She is as experienced as Obama is, and she comes from a real life American, I have trouble family. There is no Hollywood "Kennedy" family comparison like the Democrats are trying to make Obama and his family into.
Plus I just like the looks of her and how she states what she has to say.

Palin and Guiliani were the stars of last night's hate-fest. Has anyone else noticed the sharp contrast between the issues-oriented positive Democratic convention and the personality-oriented negative Republican convention? The Repubs simply can not run on the issues, so it's back to the old Karl Rove playbook of character assassination. Let's all band together as Americans first and say, 'Not this time!'

    • Posted By: stematwork @ 09/04/2008 1:57:45 PM

hope and change are the only "issues" i hear dems talking about. oh, don't forget "unity"
unity is code for: we play dirty and filibuster like crazy untill we get our guy in office...then we whine and complain about partisanship. we certainly didn't like the idea of unity under bush...but we'll expect you to like it under our wacked out leftist vision.

anyway, i heard a CLEAR vision on energy last night...not the nuanced, double tongued puff piece i heard from denver

I am 71 years old and still running a company with 8 employees. As I look back on all the community and business expereinces that I have lived through, I realize that I learned a lot on the job that I did not know when I was an employee. I learned from mistakes and misreading people and their intent. My point is that this is really hard stuff to master and I do not want a VP doing on the job training. I really wanted Hillary as the candidate but in Obama I see a thoughtful truth seeking individual with tremendous back up .

I do not think that Sarah Palin, gusty and gun slinging her words, as she did, will have the wisdom to lead our country through the coming years. I also see her a an antagonist and not someone who will bring our two major parties together. And truthfully McCain really looked old on that stage last night.

    • Posted By: stematwork @ 09/04/2008 1:54:09 PM

obama has less executive experience than ANYONE on either ticket. but you're more comfortable with him?

    • Posted By: aelinc @ 09/04/2008 11:20:47 AM

ummm...hillary didn't have any experience and if you remember correnctly, reagan didn't have any foreign policy under his belt. if you think you're better off with obama who also hasn't had any experience, then it's more than lack of experience that concerns you.

  • Posted By: Kamanos @ 09/04/2008 10:52:47 AM

There is an enormous difference between Hillary and Palin. No comparison! I am a democrat and I supported Hillary and now Obama. I did not want to see more of the republican agenda. But especially now, if the Republicans win (God forbid) I am moving to Europe and join the overly increasing anti-Americanism which to this day I have been against. Palin wants to take away the RIGHT women have to choose. She believes God is on our side. She has no experience on global politics & foreign policy. How quick can she learn and will she able to make the right decisions? Or her decisions will be based on what God tells her what to do??? I am scared.. really scared

Again another neocon that doesn't get what America is about. Remember that whole leaving England in search of religious freedom thing that our ancestors and forefathers did? I'm surprised that not many people have raised this subject! This is very basic but can make anyone wonder about leadership and simple common sense. If something would happen to John McCain, I'd be afraid!

You could not be more liberal. You basically state that we should let Georgia's sovreignty be compromised because of their history with Russia. Hitler's main goal was to reform the Austro-Hungarian Empire and he invaded countires that had once been a part of it. But in "Obama's America" we are supposed to negotiate with Russia? What foreign relations experience does Mr. Obama have anyway? Is he taking a crash course from Senator Biden? Because "college-style cramming produces a rather shallow pool of knowledge."

  • Posted By: Pauper @ 09/04/2008 1:08:04 PM

Is it gender bias or just liberal media at its worst? How can you bash her experience as the #2 on the ticket when your man at the top barely has anymore? What a joke! Just sign off as Democrat or Liberal but certainly not reporter!

    • Posted By: jlivesay @ 09/04/2008 11:40:55 AM

Why in the world would you make such an idiotic statement? Have you even really listened to Obama.

And you should not be calling people names, it makes your kind look uncivilized

        • Posted By: bluebloodedLV @ 09/04/2008 1:02:10 PM

Your kind. Do you know how bad that sounds? We are all the same kind - human kind. But all humanity has gone out the window, as it usually does amidst the mud slinging during an election. We all refuse to believe that we have much more in common than we think. We all want to be able to provide for our children and preserve their future and the future of our great Country. We all want to be able to achieve the American dream, that which makes us all proud to be Americans. Your kind, what a ridiculous thing to say. You're insinuating that you are civilized but then don't demonstrate it with your comments.

  • Posted By: bluebloodedLV @ 09/04/2008 12:23:21 PM

I think we all need to sit back and DEFINE experience. No governer has foreign policy experience. No senator has executive experience. The Obama-Biden ticket provides stockpiles of foreign policy experience and knowledge combined with leadership and true hope for a better America. I don't want to hear any nonsense about how Obama hates America and wants us all to go down. He and Biden are much more in touch with the American people than the elite McCain and isolated Palin. The McCain-Palin ticket combines narrow minded, divisive attack politics with foriegn policy experience and a teeny bit of executive experience. You could compare Obamas community organizing past with Palins PTA and Hockey mother of 5 organizing past. They are both valid character builders. But, what really matters is the top of the ticket. Obama has made better decisions than McCain. McCain has voted against raising the minimum wage 19 times. He is against the GI bill. He wont speak out against torture even though he himself endured torture as a POW. They want to privatize health care and education, so only the rich can afford them. His voting record displays a lack of character, integrity and complete alignment with the right wing agenda to control womens uteruses and pandering to the religious right. The really scary part is that McCain is a 72 year old 2 time cancer survivor and Palin is CRAMMING on foreign policy right now. Talk about a leap of faith to vote for that ticket. At least you know if some idiot attacks Obama, Biden can more than fit the bill for POTUS. You cannot touch his record. One last point, the McCain camp forgets that if by some chance he gets elected, he will be EVERYONE's president and therefore has to answer to the Dems concerns as well. He has done nothing to inspire unity, only more hatred.

    Like I said, again.
She is runing for VP and you are arguing she is not Presidential material because of her experience!
What, are you just hard-headed, or just brain-washed?
Because you are casting your vote for a man who has LESS EXPERIENCE than she does. Therfore, he is lower down the Presidential material rung that she is. YOU ARE ARGUING OBAMA IS MORE PRESIDENTIAL THAN SOMEONE MORE QUALIFIED THAN HE IS! How clear can I make it.
You keep on keeping on. But when you wake up and realize that no one else wants to vote in a president just because he made some empty promises, it will be too late. Mccain will already be in the White House because you and your party actually thouught people were going to let someone BS their way in.
    LOL
Watch the poll numbers tomorrow hot rod, and then remeber this conversation well.

Why won't you admit to voting for W twice?

      • Posted By: mcdeere72 @ 09/04/2008 8:45:59 AM

OK so explain something, W had an opponent in the last election right? I can't seem to remember his name right now, Oh, thats right it was Swift boat Kerry. To get reelected you must get 51% of the vote, many many people vote for W at the last election, why don't you focus on the coming elections and not the ones that can't be changed? Putting a hockey mom that doesn't vote present because she can make up her mind about matters seems a better option than putting someone as commander and chief that hasn't been the leader of an government entity in his "vast" career.
