CNN) ??? Prominent Republican analysts Peggy Noonan and Mike Murphy became the latest victims of an open microphone Wednesday, caught after a segment on MSNBC trashing John McCain's pick of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin as his running mate.

Noonan, a Wall Street Journal columnist and former speechwriter for Ronald Reagan, and Murphy, a campaign strategist and onetime aide to John McCain, can both be heard expressing disbelief with the pick of Palin after they apparently thought they were in a commercial break.

???I come out of the blue swing-state governor world, Engler, Whitman, Thompson, Mitt Romney,??? Murphy said during the mishap which has since been posted on YouTube. Murphy later flatly says of the pick, "It's not going to work."

Noonan is heard going even further, saying of the presidential race, "It's over."

"I think they went for this ??? excuse me??? political bulls???t about narratives," Noonan also said. "Every time the Republicans do that, because that's not where they live and it's not what they're good at, they blow it."

Murphy, who was a senior adviser to John McCain's 2000 presidential bid, also adds, "You know what's really the worst thing about it? The greatness of McCain is no cynicism, and this is cynical."

So you can cut and paste from CNN? I guess I don't understand what you're saying here because you just cut an article and had no comment.

'Shocking event' another sign of warming in polar frontier, say scientists I AM SICK OF THE RELIGIOUS RIGHT WHO DO NOT OFFER ANYTHING!! EUROPE HAS BEEN GETTING READY FOR CLIMATE CHANGE AND THOSE DAM N REPUBLICANS ARE WASTING OUR TIME WITH DEAD ISSUES.. THE FUTURE OF HUMANITY IS A STAKE HERE!!!! AND I AM SICK OF ALL THOSE IDIOTS WHO FOLLOW THEM!! ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!! THERE ARE WAY MORE IMPORTANT ISSUES THAN A STUPID REDNECK GOT PREGNANT!!!

    • Posted By: mcdeere72 @ 09/04/2008 9:24:28 AM

I always find it amazing how people blame religion for everything. Last I looked prayer in school is illegal, not all schools start with the Pledge because it has the word god and the Ten Commandments have to be removed from the courthouse because we can't have church and state anywhere close to each other, which for those that don't know seperation of church and state isn't found in the Constitution. SO we should all focus on what??? Let's try fuel prices and resolving that issue well we tried to but a certain party decided it was better to get on with vacation than resolve an issue.

Talk about not getting it. You sound like a child. Point out the whine, oh wait, this is just what Dems do--keep accusing people of things they aren't true, even if everyone knows it.
The truth is you are voting for a candidate who has no experience on anything--ANYTHING. Yet your own narrow-minded mentality will put the fate of our country--the fate of the world--in the hands of someone who has never proved he can do the job in any sense of the word. Every news channel--I mean every single one--talked about how awesome Palin did. So blog opinion is moot in trying to go against the opinions of those who do this for a living.
Even Anderson Cooper accidently belittled Obama when the subject of experience came up. Responding to Guliani's remarks how Obama has never run a state, a town, or even a business, he said" well, he has run a campaign for the presidency that employs thousands of people.
    LOL
    I mean come on.
    That's it.
That's his experience to be the leader of the free world.
He led a campaign to go after the job.
    ROTFL
You are screwed dude, and you don't even know it.

Obama has state and federal experience. More than that other presidential candidate from Illinois did. Hint- his first name was Abraham. Like most political speeches these days, Palin's speech was written for, it did not represent her thinking ability. It represented her ability to use a teleprompter effectively. I think she did rather well - an A in mean-spirited mockery, at least. Michelle Obama gave a crackerjack of a speech. Senator Obama is, of course, in a class of his own. I fully expect George McCain to give a good speech -these people are professional politicians after all. Palin is simply not presidential material and Senator Obama clearly is. If you can't / won't see it, I can't help you. If the Dems put up a Palin-esque candidate you would be howling.
And you did vote for W twice, didn't ya? Fess up now,...

      • Posted By: mcdeere72 @ 09/04/2008 8:49:19 AM

"Senator Obama is, of course, in a class of his own" Yeah he is. He talks of change and says hope is what he's driven by but he never states exactly what the change is. I voted for W twice because I like someone who stands for something instead of the moment things get rough we change our position.

        • Posted By: summer4077 @ 09/04/2008 9:24:12 AM

Obama has clearly outline his policies and plans for how to enact change. Check out his website or just google the info...it's easy to find.

  • Posted By: Rametyn @ 09/04/2008 1:32:35 AM

Palin--"Obama has been critical of my experience as a small town mayor, well let me tell him what that job involves ... "

Why did she need to explain it.

Because Obama has never been the mayor of anything.

    Experience-- Palin 1 Obama 0

    • Posted By: neos @ 09/04/2008 1:39:16 AM

I guess by your silence we can stipulate that you did vote for W twice. Sorry but that leaves you with zero credibility as an astute political pundit. Vote for him again in his new guise as McSame if you will.

It's late and I bid you good night

p,s, Adams invoked the Alien and Sedition Act during a period of conflict with France. In other words he undermined the constitution a bit to ward off a foreign threat. Kind of llike your boy W - i thought you might appreciate him more...

      • Posted By: Rametyn @ 09/04/2008 1:56:10 AM

They always resort to the name Mcsame when they have nothing left. He must have not been watching the RNC when Bush himself said that Mccain was defiant against his policies.

Are Democrats really just this blindsided by the news that they can't think for themselves.
I mean, my credibilty being questioned by someone who doesn't think Palin has enough experience to be VP--all the while wanting to vote Obama in as Pres, when he has less experience than she does?
I feel like I'm living in crazy world anymore.
No one seems to feel the need to make sense.

        • Posted By: summer4077 @ 09/04/2008 9:22:31 AM

How is McCain defiant when he went along with Bush 95% of the time? Just another lie by Bush...you know how trustworthy he is...

      • Posted By: Rametyn @ 09/04/2008 1:47:19 AM

Had absolutely nothing to do with France.
        You are a complete moron.
How does imprisoning people in America help to ward off a foreing threat you silly fool?
I just finished my college course in US History--Wikepedia will not help you.
He was imprisoning those who voiced their opposition to the conflict with France here at home, and the bill was so putrid that even Alexander Hamilton, a member of his own party, sought to have him usurped, and that is why Jefferson beat him.

Does it not bother you that you make yourself look stupid on here for all the world to see

Obama's recent tour of the Middle East was impressive. He garnered enthusiastic reviews from one country after another. No small feat considering he was meeting with countries each of which wanted him to say the opposite thing! What a shame more seasoned international affairs politicians have not been able to achieve as much on their tours. If McCain could remember which sects occupy which parts of Iraq,
his claim to superior experience and expertise might have more resonance.

  • Posted By: jsull2u @ 09/04/2008 8:55:44 AM

Palin is the Vice President nominee, not President. Where is the discussion about Obama's same lack of experience in international affairs? He will be the top dog dealing with these issues and he has zero experience in these matters. A little bias here, no?

  • Posted By: eric0125 @ 09/04/2008 5:45:48 AM

Yesterday was only the second time Palin has even appeared in public. How long is it going to be before she's made available to answer questions about her record, experience, and knowledge? The fact that McCain has to keep her under wraps until she's "filled in" on all these issues is very telling.

She doesn't even have opinions on many of these issues. What's gonna happen if McCain kicks the bucket and Iran and Russia start pushing "Sarah Barracuda" because they know everything she knows about them, she learned in a "crash course" on foreign affairs?

Do we really need another Cuban Missile Crisis?

  • Posted By: Rametyn @ 09/04/2008 1:41:32 AM

How naive I must be. You were the one who compare Obama to Adams.
    LOL
    ROTFL
    You're a riot.
Did you not read the history lesson I gave you.
    ROTFL
I think you might be one of those "special needs" kids Palin wants so desperately to help.
    ROTFL

  • Posted By: Rametyn @ 09/04/2008 1:01:41 AM

Oh, and just for the record. Obama probably is like Adams, who was beaten by the Republican Thomas Jefferson. His defeat came mainly because of a little mistake he passed called the Alien Sedition Act. You've probably never heard of it, but it was a bill he passed that called for anyone speaking thier minds against the government to be incarcirated without trial or formal hearing.
    Nice comparison genius.

    • Posted By: neos @ 09/04/2008 1:16:18 AM

Just like a Repub - always finding the negative in an otherwise noted career. Or do you simple despise this founding father? And how about laying off the Ad Hominem attacks. It only highlights your inability to engage in honest debate.

  • Posted By: Rametyn @ 09/04/2008 12:42:26 AM

And like I said, I am not the one whining.
    I am stating the facts.
You make personal attacks, and then when the volley is returned--um, how is the best way to show this well--I'll use your words to defirne hypocrosy--you call it, "mean-spirited."
    LOL
Aren't you just the guy with his hands in the air saying, "Huh? Not me."
    LOL

    • Posted By: neos @ 09/04/2008 12:48:54 AM

Stop whining - it is most unbecoming. Compared to Hockey Mom Palin, Senator Obama is a John Adams. But I don't expect you to get it. Yiou probably voted Bush in - TWICE!!! Like CNN's Jack Cafferty, I am sick and tired of being embarrassed by US president. Narrow-minded Palin and 894th out of 899th McCain on the heels of Bush. Uh, no thanks.

  • Posted By: Rametyn @ 09/04/2008 12:37:18 AM

Neos prove my point on hypocrosy.
    Palin is running for VP.
    Obama is running for PRESIDENT.
But he has no problem with the fact that his candidate has NO FOREIGN POLICY experience either--other than a trip to the middle east and europe.
So, all Palin has to do is catch a flight, shake some hands in a couple of photo ops, and she's all caught up.
    LOL

  • Posted By: neos @ 09/04/2008 12:34:26 AM

Oh, this is too rich - the party of Karl Rove whining about personal attacks. I particularly enjoyed the high hipocrisy of Steve Schmidt, George McCain's chief strategist and an honor graduate of Karl Rove's School of Charm and Character Assassination, playing the gender card today. As Senator Obama said, family members are off limits. The deeper issue here is McCain's reckless choice for VP. She did well in mean-spirited mocking but all Palin brings to the ticket is the re-opening of the cultural wars along the old divisive lines of conservative-liberal and the old divisive issues like abortion. She knows nothing of economics or foreign policy. If , God forbid, something happened to McCain tomorrow, what thinking person would put this character up for the head of the ticket? McCain made a gimmicky political choice putting getting elected above choosing a valid running mate.

  • Posted By: Rametyn @ 09/04/2008 12:22:20 AM

That's the very point they made.
Democrats can't have a intelligent honest debate, they are too busy attacking people's families, being hypocritical, and snyde about the personal lives of the candidates. Oh, how Obama was angry when his wife was attacked. But your party has no problem pounding on Palin's daughter.
The honest debate lies in exactly what Guliani and Palin pointed out. Your candidate has done nothing but deliver empty promises without a single ounce of merit that he can deliver. That is a fact, as the mayor of New York so clearly pointed out.
That you would rather try and capitilize on an obvious jestered remark to elevate yourself as a more intelligent party, I say this--not once, not one single Republican was arrested at the DNC for being demonstrative of destructive during your parties, ahem, party. Yet the protesters and the sheer display of ignorance displayed by your supporters clears illuminates just which side the nut jobs reside on. You can say that it doesn't represent all Democrats; however, NO Republican acts that way. Ever.
So spare me the "we wish to have an honest debate speech."
This coming from the party who attacked her experience, when she actually has more than your nominee does.
    Does it matter?
    Yes.
Even in baseball, a guy can show up on the field and say he can hit a hundred homeruns for the team in the coming year--but the coach is still going to want to see him bat before he makes the team genius.
Experience shows YOU CAN DELIVER on the things you say.
Heck, if it doesn't, maybe you should run. I am sure you can promise all sorts of good stuff--and if people buy it ... well ... who knows.

    LOL.
    Obama just got bitch slapped!

    • Posted By: neos @ 09/04/2008 12:09:03 AM

Yeah, forget about issues, all we ignorant americans want is a political version of Smackdown.
Go back to watching wrestling, presidential politics is not about'bitch-slapping', it is about careful and honest debate about issues that matter in the real lives of American citizens.

  • Posted By: neos @ 09/03/2008 11:56:00 PM

  • Posted By: Marlene Walley @ 09/03/2008 11:52:19 PM

So she just gave us her rise from PTA mom to Mayor to Governor, and we heard from HER & everyone else how she did a wonderful job in these positions, cutting taxes, standing up to the bad guys, now Alaska has a surplus etc. my question is, how could she do such a great job WITHOUT prior experience? Doesn't that make the argument that one needs prior executive/ Commander-in-cheif experience to be an executive/ C-I-
C moot? And on bashing the Dem ticket as both have never led anything, John McCAin has never been an executive either, in fact Biden has served longer in the Senate. I think this experience attack will backfire big time.

  • Posted By: Pia1981 @ 09/03/2008 11:36:41 PM

After watching the RNC and Sarah Palin this evening, I will give her credit for being a good speaker, but she's no Hillary Clinton, so if McCain was counting on winning the Hillary votes.. very doubtful

  • Posted By: true_patriot @ 09/03/2008 11:34:20 PM

How can you say Palin lacks foreign policy experience when she lives so close to Russia? Why do people think a person needs to spend time outside their small town to know anything about the world? Okay, enough of that.. We know Palin is not qualified for VP let alone president.

It's John McCain we should worry about. Since he graduated fifth from the bottom of his class at the US Naval Academy, he couldn't apply for a job at the Pentagon. Since he lacks business experience, he couldn't apply for a job in Corporate America. It only makes sense then that he seeks the highest office in the land and the world.

But what is really troubling is his lack of moral character and complete willingness to trade principles for the presidency. Let's hope the American people have learned from the last eight years, and won't duplicate it.

  • Posted By: donitabird @ 09/03/2008 11:27:37 PM

wHO ineeds to face Reality here- in all my years I have never notice that John McCain is so stiff- and he looks like he had a stroke-------I watch both CONVENTIONS, and I must say that Republicans are dirty and mean and nasty- while Democrate concentrate on the needs of the American People- what a differene.
What a waste of air and time-Republicans are so nasty and demon

  • Posted By: true_patriot @ 09/03/2008 11:25:56 PM

Oh, I thought she was still learning what the VP of the U.S. does.
