She thinks the Iraq War was a call from GOD!!!! Shes a nutjob...Good job Rethugs. This is gonna be too easy. Hell she hasnt even been fully vetted. Biden is gonna eat her alive. I love it

The mass media had better do the vetting of Palin that McCain did not. There is no way the media can shy away from their investigation of Palin. To be put off by Republican whiners is to put the country at risk. There should be no surprises in November or beyond (should the country vote in the McCain/Palin ticket).

How much experience did Bill Clinton have in 1992? Palin for President!

Against rights of Rape and Incest victims.

steve** .. so brilliant I will repeat your comments ... George Bush just sent Cheney to Central Asia to shore up our alliances following the conflict between Russia and Georgia. If a similar challenge arises in six months, do you want McCain sending Palin or Obama sending Biden?

I am very, very weary of the content free Republican zone. I was NOT impressed with Palin tonight. All I heard were attacks, slander, lies, sarcism, nasty sniping, and more misinformation!!! Who needs a "pit bull" ?! Other than what I have researched about her, I would not know WHO she is. I want to hear FROM HER where she stands on the issues!! She is no Hilary Clinton, no Amelia Earhart, no Annie Oakley, no ???reformer???. She is an opportunist. Other than being a pretty 'character' and delivering a good presentation she clearly is not a good Vice President Candidate . Sarah Palin is exactly what America, and women as a class, do not need: Another ill-equipped, unqualified public servant who wants to negate everything American women have fought for all these years. More chilling are her extremist views. To me, by defining herself as Pentecostal, Sarah Palin has defined herself as a religious extremist. In my view, Pentecostals are to Christianity what Islamists are to Islam. Regardless of political persuasion, I prefer not to see extremists in positions of power.

Either I will vote for McCain or not vote at all. I am still undecided. That being said, Sarah Palin's speech tonight exceeded my expectations. This was not a speech about issues. That will come later. This was a speech to launch McCain's nomination and her own. Measured by that criteria, she did a masterful job. Yet, can she do this for 60 days and against Joe Biden? There's the rub.

Smug, sarcastic, and sweet jesus that she loves, so open to fact-check destruction. God bless the self-satisfied GOP, victim no more Sarah.

The answer to what this is all about is simple. Ask yourself "What would the Republicans be saying right now if someone of a similar background had been chosen for VP by the Democrats?" If you think they wouldn;t be having a field day, you are lying to yourself. Hopefully these Republican talking points will fall on deaf ears beyond the party faithful.

Somebody call a plumber the sewer system at republican convention has been clogged with BS tonight.

  • Posted By: cdaubert @ 09/03/2008 11:41:22 PM

    Palin for President!

Palin Rocks! She hit it out of the ballpark tonight! Her speach was awesome! Obama is in trouble - he can't even compare with the Republican VP! His campaign is scared - that is why they keep comparing Palin to Obama. What...like Obama can beat that woman? Come on....she birthed 5 children! Obama birthed a popular convention and false idea of security.

Don't you mean the sand lot?

Palin's experience vs Obama's really highlightgs some shortcomings. Obama seems like a decent fellow.. but is NOT ready. Flip the dem ticket and it would make more sense. I cringe at the thought of Obama vs someone like Putin. Gahh!

The question is does America know that by electing McCain & Palin they are voting in the first American theocracy?
Walin' Palin is a peice of work. Her local level chicken diner speech is what one would expect to hear at a county meeting. I suppose that is what the RNC is now, a county meeting.

  • Posted By: mrzoid @ 09/03/2008 11:37:57 PM

Yeah, speeches are one thing (loath Obama for that), but being Anti-Choice for vitims of RAPE and INCEST.

Following these Republican Convention Speeches the single issue separating the two parties is no longer experience ... let's call that a wash ... the real difference is in attitude and spirit. The Democratics look to help us all raise to be our better selfs collectively and the Republicans are simply devisive, mean spirited, sarcastic and petty. That is the true contrast in this race. Romney, Guillani and Palin were all negative attack dogs (with or without lipstick) that really appealled to people's lower instincts ... what a shame they feel and appear so desperate that they choose to resort to politics as usual.

She'll clean Biden's clock. Biden is politically savay, but is also pompus and easily baited. Just look at any congessional hearing to see this. Given his personality, he is very likely to underestimate her. I think this is in part what the Republicans are banking on. She was selected to target democratic weak points... that is clear. This woman can hold her own and she is dangerous.

I love this night. The Liberal boogyman strategy is in full force. Rip on Obama Sarah, keep ripping on Obama and all his supporters; say how inept he is, and say that if you are considering voting for him that you are an idiot. Keep putting Mitten, and Rudy, and the Huckster out there to blame the past eight years on the democrats. Please keep throwing insults at everyone outside out of your base.
I hope the campaign takes off the victim hat and lets the new VP put on the big people gloves; just remember Sarah, politics isn't like society, if your crafty (which i think youve admitted Obama is) you can hit a woman. In presidential politics, Sarah, if you dont want to get popped in the mouth, best keep it shut; otherwise lace up the gloves and get ready for hell.

I'll be voting Obama 2008. The republicans weren't bad in their speech, especially Palin ( I do respect her) but I feel she got somewhat cocky when criticizing Obama and alot of attitude. That's all they are doing is bashing the democrats. I feel it's really unfair towards the democratic campaign.

As a Republican, Palin speech was very sad and she was way too cocky. Very scared what would happen if Mccain dies and Palin becomes President. McCain is not a leader and why is Palin dragging her disabled infant and teen pregnant child in this. She needs to take care of her childrend.
