It is obvious that you are biased in your coverage and as as full as *** as a Christmas goose. Sarah Palin will be the first woman president of the U.S. She will be elected in a landslide after John McCain serves his two terms. So get use to it.

WOW!!!! Can you please allow us to have a look into your red crystal ball? McCain is barely clinging to life as it is and you expect him to serve two terms. And that joker plain to win against Hillary in 2016? Obviously you don't live on Planet Earth.

What a dumb article.....don't you liberals realize how dumb you look when you make the experience argument? Palin is funning for VICE president, Obama is running for PRESIDENT. Get it? Obviously not, but please, keep making the argument for us. What tough interviews has Obama done? I know that when Tyra Banks asked him what songs are on his iPod, he really had to think about that. And when he went on the Ellen show, he had to decide how to dance. What about all the MSNBC interviews? Oh yeah, they're in the tank for him. We'll see how he handles himself when he finally goes into speak with O'Reilly, toughest interview he'll ever have.

That's pretty much sums it up... "What a dumb article," taken straight from the Dem's talking points.

Hard working Americans need to WAKE UP! Obama's tax and spend plans are going to ruin small businesses like my own. I, for one, will be giving money to the MCCAIN campaign today, getting a bumper sticker on my car, and voting with my entire family for MCCAIN/PALIN in November. I am ashamed of Newsweek for publishing this biased, misguided article. Newsweel should change it's name to Opinion Week. But you know what they say about opinions....everyone has one.

    • Posted By: dwjam1 @ 09/04/2008 10:32:53 AM

Hardworking Americans are awake - I already have aobama/biden sticker and voting for my entire family in November so that my small business can survive. You won't have a small business with McCain in office. Because the newsweek publish facts and you don't agree its bias ??? You wake up!!!!

  • Posted By: Phukem_Yung @ 09/04/2008 2:49:11 PM

Your specious argument (and I am being generous) is Obama is more fit to be President because he ran for President and spoke well? Because net net you can't possibly state from a work experience standpoint there is much difference between them. Can you even stop and think for a minute how absurd your premise is?

  • Posted By: onevoiceofameriaca @ 09/04/2008 2:45:00 PM

Yes I "get it"... So Worst case sceniro God forbid something happens to McCain, Do you really think she is that experienced enough for the challenages for foriegn politics???? John McCains decision is reckless for the VP pick. Kay baylee Hutchinson or some one else would have been better. If and I say "If" the decision for a female canindate was his choice there were alot of woeman he could have choisen bsides her. He could have almost anyone.

  • Posted By: local590 @ 09/04/2008 2:43:36 PM

she is better qualified than any person from the debating society called the senate
all 3 of the others are self centered corrupt people who should have resigned their position in the senate
to run for a higher office

at leaste palin is not an elite ivy league rich person

as usuual your article is well written but just another left wing screed against the taxpayer

  • Posted By: MrRight @ 09/04/2008 2:40:49 PM

I think you are 100% right, she should grant interviews to all and any media representatives and answer all questions ONLY AFTER Barack Hussein Obama meets with any and all media reps and answers all questions without any pre-conditions. Whats fair is fair

  • Posted By: June Bug 2 @ 09/04/2008 2:32:21 PM

Mrs. Palin has a big mouth and one day she will fit her foot in it. God help us if she should become President. Soccer Mom, she more of a PIT BULL, be aware.

  • Posted By: onevoiceofameriaca @ 09/04/2008 2:32:58 PM

Agin, That is a State National Guard . Not Foriegn Policy

    • Posted By: Deus_Ex @ 09/04/2008 2:39:18 PM

Notice that most of the people who they poll for John McCain lack a college education. They lack the intelligence to understand that we live in a global economy.

Their argument is that she controls a national guard and sits next to Russia. Let's See, you have the Governor of Hawaii which also as command over Pearl Harbor who is much closer to North Korea, and China, so that negates their argument, about her foreign policy experience.

the senate should not even count as experience it is agiant debating society where rich people who are corrupt decide how to steal workers money

senators should be required to resign their position to run for higher office

palin at least has done some real work
and raised a family not using nannys like the rich who debate in the senate

you as always are blatantly anti working man in all you discussions

    but welll written

    Experience:

Asked to respond to contentions that Palin does not have sufficient foreign policy experience, her spokeswoman Comella said: "Governor Palin has the judgment required for these dangerous times and the background as an executive making tough decisions needed to manage large organizations. She oversees responsibility for the National Guard and State Defense Force responsible for responding to state emergencies and has displayed leadership in the energy security discussion."

Now that's experience. Plus she's close to Russia.

    • Posted By: Deus_Ex @ 09/04/2008 2:36:26 PM

The governor of Florida is Close to Cuba and also controls Florida's National Guard, Army, Marines and Air force. So isn't he more qualified than Palin? Man you GOP supporters are dumb!!!

  • Posted By: Grumpy Old Man @ 09/04/2008 12:34:13 PM

Experience matters. Republicans have it at the top of the ticket; Democrats at the bottom. Advantage to the elephant.
Executive experience matters. Republicans have some; Democrats none. Advantage to the elephant.

    • Posted By: Deus_Ex @ 09/04/2008 12:41:13 PM

No wonder you're grumpy old man!!!

Get your facts straight. Being governor of state that is geographically and culturally disconnected from the lower 48 does not make you qualified to be POTUS. You still have yet to name one thing that woman has done that was recognized on the national stage.

Alaska's economy produces deficits, it's educational system is broken and besides oil, it has nothing else to offer this country. So please debate us on substance and quit inflating her resume. The Mayor of Miami has more executive experience than Palin, so does the mayors of larger cities with populations that dwarf the entire state of Alaska.

I'm sorry, I seem to have missed your defense of Obama's expereience. Tell me again what he's accomnplished ?...other than beat a highly polarizing politician? (no offense to Hillary - I actually like her)

        • Posted By: harvey74 @ 09/04/2008 1:17:49 PM

Read the posts, his experience has been cited numerous times. As to the first comment, McCain is old and has been sick. It is important to note with either candidate, who will AUTOMATICALLY become President should the top of the ticket die or be incapacitated. There will not be another vote from the public. This is our only chance. Therefore, to say that "elephant wins" is wrong. The VP has to be able to lead on day one. It is not like the country has not experienced an extermely short presidentcy before, with the VP having to step in. We cannot ignore the possibility.

          • Posted By: Whigman @ 09/04/2008 1:36:54 PM

Where has Obama's experience been cited "numerous times."? The Dems and the media have consciously avoided citing it. Sits on a foreign relations committee? Whoop de dooh. How many times has he been there? The problem with all of this is not the MSM's--and particularly Alter's???bias. Is the Pope Catholic? No, the problem is the media's will to power. The most toxic development of the last 30 years, largely a result of Watergate, is the media's insistence, abetted by the political culture, that the press is as important as the people it covers. It isn't. The press does not represent the American people. It is not the fourth branch of government. It represents itself and like all other lobbyists in Washington, is nothing more than a special interest. The Bush Administration has been a disaster in a lot of areas???reckless spending, a reckless war, Katrina???but not in its refusal to treat the national press like anything but what it is, as exemplified by Brother Alter, who will never forgive Sarah Palin for not asking his permission to run for vice president.

              Comment: Dear szecola,
From a previous poster: "Barack Obama graduated from Columbia University. He graduated from Harvard Law School magna *** laude. He was elected President of the Harvard Law Review a highly prestigious position. He organized the largest and most successful voter registration drive in the history of Chicago one of our largest and most storied cities. He served as an Illinois State Senator for 8 years. He has served as a US Senator for four years. He has been able to get ethics reform through in the Illinois State Senate and the US Senate although in both houses he was warned that it woul never happen. He joined with Senator Luger to get a Nuclear Proliferation bill passed and signed into law. He deftly used the amendment process in the US Senate to get legislation passed to help veterans gain better access to health care and shelter. He was the Keynote Speaker at the Democratic National Convention. He has been received by world leaders and has spoken before them under the glaring spotlight of the National and International media. He went toe to toe with the powerful juggernaut Clinton machine and was able still to garner their support at the DNC convention. He put on one of the most successful conventions of all time. He has run a campaign that pundits will study and write about for years to come. He has done the impossible by attracting 18 million votes from parts of the country that have rarely voted Democratic much less voted for a person of color." My add: This is just the tip of the iceberg (no pun intended).

OBAMA HAS A LAW DEGREE FROM HARVARD!!! Palin has a Bachelor's Degree from Idaho in Journalism. She would not be able to apply for a position that calls for an MBA regardless of experience. With a law degree you are taught about the workings of our government and the constitution. You learn about the significance of teh supreme court, how it works, and the views of various justices over time. You are also trained, in law school, to fully analyze every question from all aspects, including ones that are not your own. In addition, you are trained to research issues before you speak.

Palin is a blank slate, who is being trained by Bush's Administration on politics. Her speech was written by Bush and McCain officials. Many statements were inaccurate and skewed, showing that she is allowing Bush's and McCain's views to paint the picture of who she is. She had no exposure to Obama, Biden or Michelle before last week, yet knows the history of what Obama has done in the Senate and Illinois. At least she feels she knows enough to make snide, sarcastic and rude comments...which are based on the speech writers and her tutor's slanted information. SHAME ON HER FOR ALLOWING HERSELF TO BE A PUPPET TO THE REPUBLICAN CAMPAIGN AGENDA. Oh yeah, about patriotism, of which she spoke so highly...she supports Alaska succeeding from the same union of which she wants to be VP.

      >>OBAMA HAS A LAW DEGREE FROM HARVARD!!! Palin has a Bachelor's Degree from Idaho in Journalism.<<

WOW! A LAW DEGREE FROM HARVARD! SHOUT IT FROM THE ROOFTOPS! Surely that alone qualifies Hussein Obama to be President! And, don't forget, his VP pick, Joe Biden, is lawyer, too. That makes the Dem's ticket TWICE as qualified. And America simply MUST send MORE lawyers in Washington. You can't have ENOUGH lawyers in the capital.

Oh, for the record: Biden graduated at the bottom of his class. 76th out of 85. Was nailed for plagiarism. Has never made even ONE bottom-line decision in his life. But Sara Palin, having been a mere governor the nation's most resource-rich state, no--she's not qualified to be VP.

The Obama camp's desperation is really starting to show.

      • Posted By: harvey74 @ 09/04/2008 11:34:39 AM

I;m not sure how youthink my comment was from the Obama camp. I'm merely responding to people thoughts about experience. Training and education matters as well. Whether a law degree from Harvard of an MBA from a State University...education matters, and it cannot be ignored. Shout from the rooftops that education does matter, and cannot be ignored when addressing experience.

        • Posted By: Mike Kilo @ 09/04/2008 12:47:27 PM

Of course education is important. I have a law degree. And I'm a practicing corporate lawyer. Successful career in my career even though, like Biden, I was not a stellar student. But that's not my point. My point is that if all we can say about Obama, or Biden, is that they have fancy degrees, that's pretty weak. There are like 3 million lawyers in this country. A bunch of them are from Harvard. But not all of them are qualified to be President. If anyone's a blank slate--or more like a political "Rorschach test"--it's Obama.

          • Posted By: harvey74 @ 09/04/2008 2:32:54 PM

The point is that this should not be discounted, You know as well as I do how difficult it was to get that degree and that there were certain things you were taught. The message is that this is an important piece of information not to be overlooked.

  • Posted By: ssquared @ 09/04/2008 2:25:24 PM

Obama is supported by Hamas and Hizb'allah, and most Americans within 10 miles of the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans.
Johm McCain and Sarah Palin will get most votes in between although they may lose in Gaza.
Mr. Alter; you do the math. By the way Joe biden is of NO CONSEQUENSE in this election.

    • Posted By: harvey74 @ 09/04/2008 10:49:27 AM

If you think spelling determines unintelligence, then no wonder you support idiots with Journalism Degrees from Idaho. If you were to go through law school, like I had, I'm sure you wouldn't have made such a blindly stupid comment. Sometimes when people are typing that can happen...but you show your unintelligence by making that comment. Keep to the issues...address everything else said. It's obvious you read it.
