Ladies and Gentleman - what we have here is the newest puppet for the right wing attack machine. You don't actually think she wrote that stuff now...the right wing has found someone who will do all of their blood letting just so she can get a new job. Give me a break.

but how many credible people will read and go along with everything written for them...I believe obama writes the vast majority of his stuff, and has enough character to take something out thatmakes him sound like an angry man with a vendetta against society. Her comments are typical of the right wing rovian fear tactics that the republicans run on each election...and the sad thing is the ameerican electorate has become so ignorant that they buy all of this garbage being spewed. I don't need 4 more years like these last 8. Our country is in a horrible place compared to where we were and mccain just offers more of the same.

Proclaim - "Left wing" media sexism on Palin
Reality - Audience members wearing "hottie" VP buttons

Proclaim - "We're going to shake up the establishment"
Reality - Isn't McCain the establishment?

Proclaim - Palin's "personal" issues should be private.
Reality - Spend $40 million on a Starr report into BC "personal" life

Proclaim - We're the party of family values, country first, and God.
Reality - Selective memory/unconditional forgiveness when it comes to their members and condemn all others.

Proclaim - Palin: "I guess a small-town mayor is sort of like a ???community organizer,??? except that you have actual responsibilities."
Reality - Do I really need to explain this one?

Proclaim - Palin has more experience than Obama/Biden.
Reality - Passing ordinances for "Moose X-ings" doesn't count

Proclaim - McCain is the change we need in Washington.
    Reality - McCain + GW = McSame

p.s. The 80's called. They want their convention back! :)

The 60's called, they want the tree-hugger, marxists' convention back.
Only back then, it was gloabal cooling they were concerned about...the next ice age.
So I guess there is a difference after all.

Wrong, Texas-Conservative, McCain has an ad that ran in OH and PA attacking Obama's kids, and neither Obama nor Biden attacked Palin, until SHE attacked them. And don't recall when Pelosi ever attacked Palin. The Dem party just found out McCain's choice of Palin Fri.; and as for the media, they scrutinized Obama (being new to the national scene) just as well, and Palin herself continuously introduces herself, a politician, as a mother (as if that were qualification for Veep), plus, her party runs on family values and having the arrogant superiority to claim monopoly on them, so she opened the door. And I vote Democratic because I believe their policies are better and more humane; you obviously don't. That doesn't necessarily make you right and me wrong. For instance, when CAN we leave Iraq? According to yours and McCain's standards, that would be NEVER. If we leave, violence that we suppress could return. If there's violence now, we have to stay and fight it; if there's no violence, it will return if we go. We can keep borrowing money from China to stabilize a region that will ALWAYS war with Israel and within itself, that our grandkids' great-grandchildren will still be paying on, and people can keep BECOMING homeless, broke, uninsured, and illiterate, run over by illegal immigrants sucking up what's left of the system, with women dying in back alleys from self-induced abortions, etc., etc., etc., returning us to the Stone Age, just so long as our troops don't leave Iraq! Russia can take over the Ukraine and Georgia, re-wage the Cold War against the U.S., whose troops would still be in Iraq and Afghanistan, and Iran could start some stuff with Israel, but just don't leave Iraq. Reinstitute the draft, because leaving Iraq any time in our lifetime is bringing the troops home in defeat instead of victory.

    • Posted By: Texas-conservative @ 09/04/2008 1:37:34 PM

Actually, i never suggested that we should stay in Iraq forever.
I have said that we should stay there until the government can defend itself from hostile militias so that all the blood, sweat, and money that have been invested in the project will have some payoff by assuring that we have a democratically elected ally in Iraq, rather than having 5 years of war and another Somalia on our hands. Furthermore, achieving victory in Iraq is important if we are going to be leaders in the internatinoal community. How much support will our allies give us next time if we abandon the project before it is successful? Our allies have lost soldiers there, too. Besides, it looks like Iraqis are startng to gain confidence and momentum toward a functinoal government and military. Sounds like our troops are coming home sooner than later...victorious at that (for freeing 25 people from a dictatorship and deposing that dictator).

I believe the government is the most inefficient manager of money. The existing entitlement programs are underfunded, and our tax money, instead of covering debt and existing policies, it spent appeasing the desires of special interests and lobbyists. I certainly don't think the government (or the democratic congress) has my interests at heart. I think I know how my hard-earned money would best benefit my family. I don't need that dictated to me. And I don't need to spend my hard-earned salary that my family deserves to pay for children's pre-K program while the existing education systme has historically high drop-out rates. Let's fix the system BEFORE we expand it. let's fix this dysfunctional government, BEFORE we surrender more of our liberty.

Who do the Obamas think they are, saving for their daughters' college educations instead of stocking up their hope chests with crib sheets? Real Americans are hypocritical religious fundamentalists, non-intellectual loud mouths who prefer snow machining to traveling overseas and meeting different kinds of people. Yah! We don't need no stinking self made African Americans in the white house. No siree!

Extend you never ending same PAIN with your vote for McCain and the clown Painlin.

What is,... the difference between a pit bull and a hockey mom?
Quite a bit,... unless you are Sara Palin and then it's just lip stick and the pit bull she compares herself to doesn't need it.

Ha Ha ha Ho Ho Ho He He He

Do we have the where-with-it-all to realize unlike Sara Painlin that her bad joke was a direct cut to the working mothers of the United States who actually do participate in their children's activities (sports and other wise) through great sacrifice making sure their children have a good chance at a balanced, well adjusted life and maybe don't have time to always look their best in doing so. Calling them pit bulls without make-up. Typical out of touch Republican Clown Elitist, diguised as of the people (Get Real!). I don't have anybody on my block, who like this Clown, who thinks like she does, that women always have to look their best appearance wise no matter what they are doing. So out-of-touch and so Republican!

Some things to keep in mind:

    1. Palin supports teaching Abstinence Only sex education. Didn't really seem to work out for her family. You can also check to see when Palin's first child was born and the date she got married. Apparently, she doesn't want to live the values she preaches.

    2. Being a mayor of a town of 4000 isn't quite the same as being a heartbeat away from the presidency. Neither is being the Governor of a state who's population is a 1/4 the size of Brooklyn.

    3. In the true repugnican fashion, it took her less than 20 months to get investigated for an abuse of power.

    4. Has a "bimbo eruption" on the horizon

    5. Has a "is this child my son or my grandson erpution" on the horizon

    6. Is in the pocket of big oil and has no intention of looking for alternative sources or getting the US off of oil.

    7. Wants to teach religion in public schools. She also wouldn't mind establishing a national religon.

    8. Thinks the Pledge of Alliegence was written by the founding fathers.

    9. Doesn't know what the Vice-President does.

    10. Can't seem to provide any specifics regarding her plans for the country. She can read a telepromter, though.

    11. If she has more experience than Obama and Biden combined, then she also has more experience than McSame.

    • Posted By: RiversideWarrior @ 09/04/2008 1:34:17 PM

You forgot to add her positions on the accumulating debt and death of the last 8 years, being anti-choice, anti-contraception (something that apparently might have helped her 17 yr. old daughter rather than preaching "abstinence") and anti-equal pay for equal work between men and women. I relish the prospect of voters getting to know her position in these important areas plus the ones you have outlined rather than just knowing her being the PTA president of Wasilla City.

    Beyond the Palin

When Palin can win a national primary (over a political dynasty no less), then she will have the standing and credibility to be mentioned in the same breath with Obama. This woman is not anywhere near the most qualified person to be tapped for the VP slot. Again, for those complaining about Obama's lack of experience as a counter agrument to this valid argument - he has campaigned for 20 months and earned the nomination with over 18 million votes from the American people (not to mention an 11 year record as a State and U.S. Senator from a state with an actual population to manage).

Sarah Palin is no leader of a movement - she was Governor of Alaska for 18 months - which is the equivalent of a kid running a lemonade stand and claiming to have the experience to run Wal-Mart. How many states could she win in a primary?

She was abrasive at best last night, and showed she could effectively read a teleprompter. The fact these Republicans can actually (pretend to) get behind her exposes a far more troubling issue for them; Poor judgement and desperation. In private, they freely admit that this was terrible for this campaign but are playing the only cards they have - Culture wars, Fear, and running to the right.

It saddens me that McCain has turned in to such a sad, old puppet of the right. How could he name her as VP when he's met her once? Judgement? Country First? Really? One heartbeat away from the leader of the free world? Cute story, but let's get back to reality folks. The Republicans should be ashamed of themselves, and have lost any credibility they might have been clinging to.

As far as the sexism claims - please get real. If She wants to throw her 19 year old heading to Iraq in our face, and her special needs baby, then she will need to field questions about her pregnant daughter as well when she wants to ban sex education......So I say to her stop using the kids and the media will stop asking, which is as it should be.

The only thing more pathetic than Palin being named is that so many will actually vote for these clowns.

Palin and these goons don't think we're stupid............They know we are.

    Obama / Biden 2008

When it is dished out to Palin...please don't cry foul...She can't have it both ways...I am a community organizer from rural America.....She insulted us....

    • Posted By: blackcourt @ 09/04/2008 1:31:03 PM

She insulted you in the same manner that Obama insulted her. I guess if you want to place blame on anyone perhaps you should look to the root of the problem rather than someone defending herself. As a community organizer it would seem pretty arrogant to me to consider myself in the same league as a mayor... but then from the sounds of your response you take yourself a little too seriously.

    • Posted By: neos @ 09/04/2008 1:27:46 PM

Thank you, Shenice, for your service to America. I apologize for Gov. Palin's mean-spirited attack.

After the past eight years, the only way Mc Cain has a chance is to adopt the Obama mantra of change. He floundered until he plucked the word "change" from the Obama campaign. Mind you. He is a Republican and his only refuge from his party's obvious disaster at home and abroad is to run from it. Next, there is no one in his party who has any history at all who is fit to run beside him, all of them tarnished by association with abject failure of his party at every turn for the past eight years, and support of idiotic war begun in shame. His only hope was to pluck from not only nowhere, but nowhere as far from Washington as you can get and still be in the U.S., a stranger to anything resembling his disgraced party, except of course, the Rove mantra of anti-abortion, religious fundamental Christian conservatism, and "family values", the issues that won for the idiot prince again in 2004, foolish war and bad economy begone.
I think that he made probably the best choice that he could make, considering the defective material he had to choose from at home. Only time will tell if she can hold up under the usual scrutiny that today's national politicians endure when running for office.
One thing is for certain. After her attack on the opposition last night, no one can claim that she is off limits to attack from any quarter. She hit low and hard and she asked for it.

Obama is always talking about CHANGE, GOOD CHANGE, CHANGE FOR THE BETTER. Never does he tell us what he plans to change or how he plans to change it. What he really wants is the change your pocket.

        • Posted By: olderwiser @ 09/04/2008 1:30:30 PM

Well, marphilms, while you're talking about Obama's change, what change is Mc Cain talking about, except getting the hell away from his party's mess? He stole it from Obama who started getting away from the mess of the past eight years long before Mc Cain copied it. They are both right. Just Change.

I'm still trying to figure out what the Republican Party has to be angry ABOUT. The GOP has held the White House for all but eight years since 1981, and has run Congress for most of the years since 1995. If you don't like the state of the union, look inward first-----------YOU'VE been in the driver's seat, not the Democrats.

Obama is Ahmadinejad's long lost cousin. No wonder why he wants the Presidency so he can have tea with his terrorist buddies and negotiate truces. Then he can let that Muslim flag hover in front of the White House!

I'm still trying to understand what the Republicans (especially Palin and Giuliani) have to be so angry ABOUT. They have held the Presidency for all but eight years since 1981, and Congress for all but the last year and a half since 1995. If the state of the nation is not to your liking, look in the mirror first, friends!

    • Posted By: 4astrongamerica @ 09/04/2008 1:23:37 PM

Are you kidding me? Now they are being accused of drugging their baby. My kids could sleep through anything - vacuuming, construction, ball games, evangelical church services, etc. When it is a child's bed time, they can sleep anywhere. The personal attacks are getting ridiculous.
