Why is everyone comparing Palin to Obama? Shouldn't it be Biden, and there is no comparison there. Obama is going to smash McCain in the debates and Biden is going to eat Palin up. I'm sorry but I've only seen the Republican party lie, lie lie. It is time for CHANGE not only for the Democrats but for everyone and it seems the Republican party don't have every American best interest at heart. WAKE up America and look where we were, where we are now and where it is we want to go.

What saddens me is seeing how some women are biting into the Sarah Palin apple, paricularly so-called Democratic women (i.e., traitors to the party and everything it stands for), when it's so obviously filled with poison. She does not have star power. What she has is an attractive face, a certain malicious charm, and the slavering attention of the media. Everyone seems to be forgetting what she thinks about the issues. This anti-choice, pro-death penalty, big oil loving, representative of the "Christian" right, seems to be missing the point of Christianity entirely. As a Christian, myself, it enrages me to see these people absolutely spewing hatred, which is very far from the teachings of Christ--and making us look like a bunch of hypocritical loonies to the entire world. During the Ex mayor of NY's speech when he rallied everyone to actually laugh at Obama, an audience, I might add, almost entirely composed of white people, it reminded me more of a Klan meeting than a political convention. For their arrogance, for their lack of humility, for their outright lies, for their racism, for their already proven failed policies, these people deserve to lose. Please, wake up American! Vote Obama.

First of all last time I looked Obama was running against McCain not Sarah Palin. The republicans seem to have thrown their own candidate under the bus and promoted his running mate to the presidential front runner. Secondly Sarah Palin could not shine Obama's shoes. I didn't see 38000000 people watching her last night. Obama's studies of the great leaders both domestic and abroad and the books he has read trumps any experience Sarah Palin has not to mention he has a command for the law both civil and constitutional that she cannot match. Her ideologies are so static and tunnel visioned that she is scary even to her own base. We need an open-minded thought provoking president who is able to look at all sides of an issue. Finally for Barack Obama to be considered so inexperience in Foreign Policy it seems like the Republican sitting president is now taking his advice. He got the vote on the Iraqi war right. He said we should have a timeline for withdrawal all of a sudden Bush announces one. He said that we should talk to our enemies after calling him an appeaser President Bush seems to have taken that advice as well. He is not even in office as of yet and already guiding foreign policy. Yes Sarah delivered her prepared speech well but it sounded more like she was taking out her frustration with the media on Barak Obama even after he denounced them going after her family.

DEMOCRATS & INDEPENDENTS.....Remember to show up at the polls and vote Democratic on Nov. 4th and this will all be an afterthought. Sarah Palin will have plenty of opportunities to host any number of FOX reality TV shows including FoxNews.

Mccain may have leveled the "POLITICAL" playing field by choosing a young, attractive woman, who is effective political speech maker, but I've go to say as an African-American Woman of mixed racial heritage who has white uncles and cousins, a white sister-in-law and nieces and nephews statistically more white than black. I am a staunch INDEPENDENT voter, and have voted my concience for both Republican and Democratic candidates, and I am absolutely terrifed that the REPUBLICAN party has aliented almost everyone in America who is not wealthy, white, anti-choice and supportive of a WAR that the United States should have never started in the first place! less

It's terrible when Obama's supporters call Gov. Palin trailer trash. Sounds to me like some of you are running scared. I am a former Hillary supporter who decided even before Gov. Palin's speech that I (a life-long Democrat) would support John McCain. Gov. Palin just solified my decision, not because she is a woman but because she really sees the world as it is. My gut feeling about Obama has increased and increased as I see more and more of him. He is definitely very well educated and an articulate speaker, but I still cannot find anything of substance beyong that.

As a self-styled 'life-long democrat', can you tell me which are THE ISSUES that caused you to change your mind.

Palin and Romney didn't have enough star power to beat the DNC ratings for Biden/Hillary. The DNC night for VP beat the RNC by about 3 million viewers!

Well written! I, too, am enjoying this "novelty" of a race, the best and most interesting in many a year. I am a libertarian, so looking on from the outside is old hat for me and here is what I see: suddenly, the grandiose speeches of Owama are revealed for what it is, empty rhetoric, little substance and the liberal media is in a panic proven by the instant attack mode. What I do know is this: a star is born, and she ain't going away...just may have swayed my vote and if she can sway mine....Hah!

The McCain / Palin ticket may achieve the impossible..make Bush/Chaney look good!

Whatever elementary school Jeremy McCarter is currently attending is breeding second rate muckrackers. Do we, the literate public, really have such a lack of attention span that we need this kind of article, praising someone who says next to nothing about issues that concern all Americans in favor of personal attacks that do nobody any good?

Palin's speech went over very well in in the convention center. but of course, that was a room full of white old blue hairs and white hairs. hardly representative of the country.

Gcv. Palin was terrific. Poignant, articulate, and on the money. Poor Barrack, he sounds like a bumbling "Uh" spewing amateur next to the voice of someone who has liveed and accomplished a whole lot more than Obama has or ever will. Substance in McCain and Palin will surely triumph over the "form" candidate Barack Hussein Obama!

Has Palin ever taken an algebra class?

  • Posted By: neos @ 09/04/2008 12:10:52 PM

Quick, Josh 22, of the last 5 Republican presidents which one(s) had budget deficits throughout their terms? (Even when Republicans held congress as well...
And for the bonus round, which one(s) actually left the federal government large than he found it?

    Jeopordy theme music......

Actually the answer to both questions is all of them. So much for small government and fiscal responsibility. Instead of tax and spend we got borrow and spend. Expect more of the same with McCain.

Palin is a disgrace to women, and she will do NOTHING to help the plight of women. SHE IS NOT, AND WILL NEVER BE, ANYWHERE CLOSE TO HRC! Obama knows this, and you can bet they are working on a strategy to sink Palin. He beat Hillary, he'll destroy Palin.

    • Posted By: tuzlasniper @ 09/04/2008 12:09:38 PM

disgrace to women? if she were a Dem, you'd be saying how wonderful all her accomplishments were and how dare anyone downplay them.

Sarah Palin - the gift that keeps on giving. In case anyone has forgotten that the Republican Party is one mean, hate filled, organization - Sarah Palin made sure to remind everyone of that very fact last night. Most of her speech was obnoxious one-liners - and that one small moment when she talked about the issues - she flubbed it.

And the total impact - zero. Just like her, and McCain - zero. The latest Gallup poll shows no change. Which is exactly what you are going to get from McCain, Palin, and the Republican Party - no change.

How is the Republican party any more hateful than what has been aimed at Palin the last few days? Liberals who are all for sex out of wedlock have been all over her the last few days because her teenage daughter is pregnant.
If you don't see hate in both parties than I don't get it. I've followed politics the last ten years and I've seen plenty of hate go both ways and unscrupulous tactics going both ways. It is like the pot calling the kettle black.

Ziggy Stardust...check those polls on Monday A.M. And don't whine or run away. McCain/Palin...CHANGE WE CAN BELEIVE IN!!!

      NOBAMA!!

  • Posted By: 1cndymn @ 09/04/2008 11:44:06 AM

tlmj2003- What is an "organiger"??? Question: how can a man who has been in the Senate for 36 years (Biden) and hasn't lead anything or caused any "change" now stand on a platform of change?? McCain has consistently rebuked the establishment and pushed for change throughout his career. Whether it was campaign finance reform or supporting the troop surge (which by all professional and pundit accounts worked). Don't be disillusioned by the dazzling display of rhetoric and speechmaking by Obama. Think for yourself and vote for REAL leaders, people with experience LEADING, not just TALKING. Vote McCain/Palin!

    • Posted By: tlmj2003 @ 09/04/2008 12:05:08 PM

Actually a ???organizer??? is a person as (Obama) that organize themselves to ???take charge??? of situations and develop a sense of being??? also seek to rectify the problem of power imbalance so that people as Bush, McCain and Palin can be challenged and held accountable to values that are important and affect the United States of America. Just to name a few: Economy, Prices of Gas, War in Iraq, Homes Foreclosures, Health insurance, Food cost, Job overseas, etc. And I think for myself Obama is just as qualified as McCain/Palin are. And Obama/Biden are real Leaders with the drive to put this country where is should have been for the last 8 years.
