McCain/Palin will tear a page out of the Nazi playbook, just like Bush did:

"Naturally, the common people don???t want war, but they can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. Tell them they are being attacked. And denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and endangering the country. It works the same in every country."

Bullsh*t they arent different. The Manson family were brainwashed by a highly charasmatic man that fed them mind bending hallucenigenics, after months of this they did anything they were told; the republicans do almost the same thing, only without the excuse of being drugged, or following a charasmatic man, just doing what their told regardless.

Hey ICYEYES800, it is comments like yours that continually cause this, once great nation to dwindle downward. Don't take my comment wrong, we live in an awesome country with great, rich blessings and awesome people and a spirit to carry us anywhere and to accomplish anything. However, I can pick at any part of your comment and not even wonder why we have the problems we do in this great land, in politics, and in our society in general. Listen to the forked tounged and vote. Don't be surprised to have the venom infect us all. Get real. You are blind if you haven't done your research and you obviously haven't.

lets see. i'm a conservative and i have no problem with a women vp.the question is can she handle it? at first she has failed as a mother.who will want a 17yr old to get pregnant?i think she was busy and the girls felt unattended.second of all she is a mother of 5.not a single mom,a mother of 1,2 or three.and she has an artistic child.so i don't think she is the right person.in a political view, she cant be compared to hilary clinton.hillary clinton was a senator and in the main stream.not a town but a city.so i dont think she is up for the job.but if it was condee rice on the ticket,mc cainn has no chance of losing.

Obama would provide $80 billion in tax breaks, mainly for poor workers and the elderly, including tripling the Earned Income Tax Credit for minimum-wage workers and higher credits for larger families.

He also would raise income taxes, capital gains and dividend taxes on the wealthiest. He would raise payroll taxes on taxpayers with incomes above $250,000, and he would raise corporate taxes. Small businesses that make more than $250,000 a year would see taxes rise.

MCCAIN: "She's been governor of our largest state, in charge of 20 percent of America's energy supply ... She's responsible for 20 percent of the nation's energy supply. I'm entertained by the comparison and I hope we can keep making that comparison that running a political campaign is somehow comparable to being the executive of the largest state in America," he said in an interview with ABC News' Charles Gibson.

    -----------------------------

THE FACTS: McCain's phrasing exaggerates both claims. Palin is governor of a state that ranks second nationally in crude oil production, but she's no more "responsible" for that resource than President Bush was when he was governor of Texas, another oil-producing state. In fact, her primary power is the ability to tax oil, which she did in concert with the Alaska Legislature. And where Alaska is the largest state in America, McCain could as easily have called it the 47th largest state _ by population.

    ------------------------

MCCAIN: "She's the commander of the Alaska National Guard. ... She has been in charge, and she has had national security as one of her primary responsibilities," he said on ABC.

THE FACTS: While governors are in charge of their state guard units, that authority ends whenever those units are called to actual military service. When guard units are deployed to Iraq or Afghanistan, for example, they assume those duties under "federal status," which means they report to the Defense Department, not their governors. Alaska's national guard units have a total of about 4,200 personnel, among the smallest of state guard organizations.

FORMER ARKANSAS GOV. MIKE HUCKABEE: Palin "got more votes running for mayor of Wasilla, Alaska than Joe Biden got running for president of the United States."

THE FACTS: A whopper. Palin got 616 votes in the 1996 mayor's election, and got 909 in her 1999 re-election race, for a total of 1,525. Biden dropped out of the race after the Iowa caucuses, but he still got 76,165 votes in 23 states and the District of Columbia where he was on the ballot during the 2008 presidential primaries.

PALIN: "The Democratic nominee for president supports plans to raise income taxes, raise payroll taxes, raise investment income taxes, raise the death tax, raise business taxes, and increase the tax burden on the American people by hundreds of billions of dollars."

THE FACTS: The Tax Policy Center, a think tank run jointly by the Brookings Institution and the Urban Institute, concluded that Obama's plan would increase after-tax income for middle-income taxpayers by about 5 percent by 2012, or nearly $2,200 annually. McCain's plan, which cuts taxes across all income levels, would raise after tax-income for middle-income taxpayers by 3 percent, the center concluded.

Sarah Palin is a FAKER .An Don't You ...MISTAKE HER !!!

Joe Biden, The American People, The Media, The People of State Of Alaska will EXPOSE Palin for the Fraud she is !!

ST. PAUL, Minn. Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin and her Republican supporters held back little Wednesday as they issued dismissive attacks on Barack Obama and flattering praise on her credentials to be vice president. In some cases, the reproach and the praise stretched the truth.

    Some examples:

PALIN: "I have protected the taxpayers by vetoing wasteful spending ... and championed reform to end the abuses of earmark spending by Congress. I told the Congress 'thanks but no thanks' for that Bridge to Nowhere."

THE FACTS: As mayor of Wasilla, Palin hired a lobbyist and traveled to Washington annually to support earmarks for the town totaling $27 million. In her two years as governor, Alaska has requested nearly $750 million in special federal spending, by far the largest per-capita request in the nation. While Palin notes she rejected plans to build a $398 million bridge from Ketchikan to an island with 50 residents and an airport, that opposition came only after the plan was ridiculed nationally as a "bridge to nowhere."

PALIN: "There is much to like and admire about our opponent. But listening to him speak, it's easy to forget that this is a man who has authored two memoirs but not a single major law or reform _ not even in the state senate."

THE FACTS: Compared to McCain and his two decades in the Senate, Obama does have a more meager record. But he has worked with Republicans to pass legislation that expanded efforts to intercept illegal shipments of weapons of mass destruction and to help destroy conventional weapons stockpiles. The legislation became law last year. To demean that accomplishment would be to also demean the work of Republican Sen. Richard Lugar of Indiana, a respected foreign policy voice in the Senate. In Illinois, he was the leader on two big, contentious measures in Illinois: studying racial profiling by police and requiring recordings of interrogations in potential death penalty cases. He also successfully co-sponsored major ethics reform legislation.

Comment: Dear Achilles22 -
Here's a dose of reality right back at you...this is AMERICAand ANYONE, ABSOLUTELY ANYONE can be mentioned in the same breath as anyone else because he's no better then me or you or Gov. Palin! Obama has "campaigned" for 20 mos - he has not run his campaign and he's no leader of a movement! And if you believe that being Gov of Alaska is like running a lemonade stand then you have confirmed my belief that those blindly following Obama are just that...blind to his emptiness, blind to his lack of accomplishments. It's people like YOU Achilles22 that will cause people like ME to get to the polls on 11/04 no matter what! Now put the glass of kool-aid down and get over yourself!

    Comment: Dawn -

I never attacked you, nor would I despite your obvious shortcomings. You're entitled to your opinion, but not your own facts - Obama has earned the nomination (with over 18 million votes) of his party in a national primary. His accomplishments (President of the Harvard Law Review, State Senator, US Senator of a state with an actual population to manage, and Presidential Nominee) completely and totally dwarf that of Mrs. Palin. This is fact, not opinion. Tell me how many votes she got for Mayor a few years back - 682? Really? You should be proud that she properly read the insults given to her yesterday - but then again, so could my 8 year old with 5 hours practice.

The Republican Party should be completely embarassed. This is the most qualified candidate you had? Really? Leader of the free world? (When McCain cashes out).......Seriously? Country First?

Trust me - the smart Republicans know this is a mockery, and that even for them this is a new low (see Mike Murphy and Peggy Noonan's comments off the record).

I'll say it again, they don't think we're stupid, the know we are.

It's also a fact that you are apparently one of the very low information voters that these goons are aiming at, so good for them -

    Not so good for us.

    Cheers.

      • Posted By: Achilles22 @ 09/04/2008 5:14:17 PM

What you guys fail to realize (or admit) is Obama won the presidential nomination of his party in a national primary election, which is a far greater accomplishment than anything Mrs. Palin has achieved. Hardly apples to apples here.

Although Obama has comparable experience to Clinton, Lincoln and Kennedy, we had an election where your arguments were made and unltimately rejected by more than 18 million voters. When Palin wins a primary - then get back on line and let me know!

        Hilarious.

You guys are making yourselves look worse than you usually do - which is a big statement.

She's not the head of the ticket. There you go comparing apples to oranges. Obama is not qualified to run this country. I'm comfortable with Palin as number 2. You have your ticket bass ackwards. But then again Biden is no prize.; Face it you all screwup by not putting Hillary on the ticket. You would of had a slam dunk, now you have a dog fight.

I have a real problem with people who twist scripture for their own interests. There are many ways to understand scripture and most people find that as they grow in their devotion, that they understand the scriptures in ever deepening and expanding ways. She seems to forget that Jesus beckoned His followers to walk on water and God told Moses to speak to the rock to get water. Is she so righteous that she knows Obama's heart? Her naivity and aggressive rhetoric are counterproductive. To allude that Obama might be the anti-Christ is reprehensible. Christians need to pray for wisdom and guidance, this is a dangerous time to be deceived. Obama has love in his heart and in his actions; that is what Christians are suppose to be. To slander people through innuendo, is very dangerous ground to plow.

She actually reminded me of a right wing Roseanne Barr !! Very Scary !! Oh and she had no plan for getting our great nation out of rut we are currently in ,Not a good sign either!

And now Palin wants to complain about being vetted by the American public and the media? Boo-hoo, you're running for VP, Americans have the right to know! But Republicans want to claim this isn't honest vetting, this is SEXISM! Dick Morris, Fox News veteran commentator, responds to the republican claims that Palin is getting "tougher and harder questions" by the "biased news media" than Obama by saying this, "A man would never have to go through this, it's a deep sexism that runs through our society." Oh, then surely old Dick would agree that all female candidates experience this sexism and unfair questions, right? Commenting on Hillary Clinton, Dick says, "When a woman wants to be president she shouldn't complain [about dispartiy] based on gender! [Hillary] is going to take her toys and go home because the big boys are picking on her. What happens when the boys in the middle east or the boys who run Russia or the boys who run China start picking on ya, are we going to have the President of the U.S. saying the boys are picking on me? This is what Hillary always does, whenever she gets under fire she RETREATS BEHIND THE APRON STRINGS!" Wow, that's some nice double-standards happening there!
Then there's Nancy Pfotenhauer, senior policy adviser for the McCain campaign, who said about Hillary, "The people who think they're helping her by playing the gender card are hurting her...it would be a terrible mistake to play this victimization card because this is not what we want in a president." But when it comes to Palin Pfotenhauer says, "I think the nature of these attacks, because they're so disrespectuf to her as a woman...there were questions about, she has young children, and...I found that to be one of the most outreageous double-standards I've ever seen!"
Don't cry foul, what's good for the geese is good for the gander!

"The War In Iraq is for Oil"

"The War in Iraq, is for Natural Resources"

She also siad that she "Like or Agreed with Sen. Obama's Energy Plan"

She also Thanked Obama for the "Stimulus Checks The Alaskan People and Americans Recieved this Summer, Because the Alaskan People were really being hit hard by the High Price of Gas and other Expenses"

How is this Witch going to be able to AVOID these Contradictions...How in the He!! will she be able to dance around her own Words !!!!

She was for the so called Bridge to Nowhere, until it was politically expediant to be Against it.

The People of Alaska surely did not feel that way and are Pissed at Palin for demeaning their Towns People !!!

Have you really researched both candidates and looked at what their views are on the issues at hand? Do yourself a favor and at least educated yourself on what John McCain's plan is. You can go to his website, johnmccain.com and read it all... it is actually quite different from President Bush. Also, do you know anything about economics? When you raise taxes for a company it diminishes revenue and growth, the two things that drive our countries economy. Obama is for raising taxes against these companies, hence stunting our already struggling economy... read the issues before you jump on a band wagon

The Gop pick of McCain and palin are a microcosm of the difference between the two parties-

              education vs. abstinence

              evolution vs. creationism

              diplomacy vs. arbitrary war

              intelligence vs. narcissism

liberty and science vs. right-wing self righteousness

              sustainability vs. monopoly

              democracy vs. plutocracy

Barack Obama The Jr. Senator has Done Far More than Sarah Palin
    ----------------------

He joined Chuck Schumer (D-NY) in sponsoring S. 453, a bill to criminalize deceptive practices in federal elections, including fraudulent flyers and automated phone calls, as witnessed in the 2006 midterm elections.

Obama's energy initiatives scored pluses and minuses with environmentalists, who welcomed his sponsorship with John McCain (R-AZ) of a climate change bill to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by two-thirds by 2050, but were skeptical of his support for a bill promoting liquefied coal production.

Obama also introduced the "Iraq War De-Escalation Act of 2007," a bill to cap troop levels in Iraq, begin phased redeployment, and remove all combat brigades from Iraq before April 2008.

Later in 2007, Obama sponsored with Kit Bond (R-MO) an amendment to the 2008 Defense Authorization Act adding safeguards for personality disorder military discharges, and calling for a review by the Government Accountability Office following reports that the procedure had been used inappropriately to reduce government costs.

He sponsored the "Iran Sanctions Enabling Act" supporting divestment of state pension funds from Iran's oil and gas industry, and joined Chuck Hagel (R-NE) in introducing legislation to reduce risks of nuclear terrorism.

A provision from the Obama-Hagel bill was passed by Congress in December 2007 as an amendment to the State-Foreign Operations appropriations bill.

Obama also sponsored a Senate amendment to the State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP) to provide one year of job protection for family members caring for soldiers with combat-related injuries.

After passing both houses of Congress with bipartisan majorities, SCHIP was vetoed by President Bush in early October 2007, a move Obama said "shows a callousness of priorities that is offensive to the ideals we hold as Americans.

Barack Obama has Laws with his name Attached to them, along with President Bush's Signatures on them...

As a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Obama made official trips to Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

In August 2005, he traveled to Russia, Ukraine, and Azerbaijan. The trip focused on strategies to control the world's supply of conventional weapons, biological weapons, and weapons of mass destruction as a first defense against potential terrorist attacks.

Following meetings with U.S. military in Kuwait and Iraq in January 2006, Obama visited Jordan, Israel, and the Palestinian territories. At a meeting with Palestinian students two weeks before Hamas won the legislative election, Obama warned that "the U.S. will never recognize winning Hamas candidates unless the group renounces its fundamental mission to eliminate Israel."

He left for his third official trip in August 2006, traveling to South Africa, Kenya, Djibouti, Ethiopia and Chad. In a nationally televised speech at the University of Nairobi, he spoke forcefully on the influence of ethnic rivalries and corruption in Kenya.

The speech touched off a public debate among rival leaders, some formally challenging Obama's remarks as unfair and improper, others defending his positions.

    110th Congress

In the first month of the newly Democratic-controlled 110th Congress, Obama worked with Russ Feingold (D???WI) to eliminate gifts of travel on corporate jets by lobbyists to members of Congress and require disclosure of bundled campaign contributions under the "Honest Leadership and Open Government Act," which was signed into law in September 2007.

You have that one right. But then again Americans did vote for the " experienced executive " George Bush twice (Governor for 5 years) and ended up as almost a third world country.

Seems to me that people stupid enough to vote for someone only because they think that they ' could have a beer with him ', a man who had fake ' moral values' who caused them to loose their homes, sons & daughters, jobs and economy (1 trillion in debt to China) deserve whatever they get.

Furthermore the Republican government that wrecked America over the past 8 years was revealed to have the most:
hypocritical (loving the evangelicals to their face and laughing at them behind their backs, all the while fleecing them of their money much of which went into personal bank accounts),
