"I didn't hear the phrase 'middle class' mentioned, I didn't hear a word about health care. I didn't hear a single word about what we're going to do about the housing crisis, college education, all the things that the middle class is being burdened by now," Biden told CBS' "The Early Show."

"There was a deafening silence about the hole that the Republicans have dug us into and any specific answers as to how the McCain-Palin ticket is going to get us out of that hole," Biden said.

McCain's speech was expected to provide the climax to the four-day convention at the Xcel Energy Center. His wife, Cindy, admitted that she was nervous about addressing delegates herself.

"I'd like people to know what makes me work and what makes me tick and who I am, what I'm all about and where I come from," Cindy McCain told ABC. "I have an interesting story to tell as well in that it combines the two of us and makes us a couple and what we will represent."

Palin joined other Republican speakers Wednesday night in praising McCain as a man of character, a former Vietnam prisoner of war who had spent his early career in the military and had sought to change the ways of politics in Washington.

"In politics, there are some candidates who use change to promote their careers. And then there are those, like John McCain, who use their careers to promote change," said Palin, toying with the central theme in Obama's campaign.

I cried when I saw that poor special needs baby being passed from one person to another. The only bright moment was when the younger daughter licked her hand and gently smoothed his hair. What kind of mother, even a political one, allows that to happen? While I was never much of a Hillary supporter, you have to hand it to her that she never allowed Chelsea to be used as political fodder.

Sarah Palin is the epitome of traditional womanhood. She is very intelligent, well balanced and is capablle of doing an excellent job. She has an extremely supportive familly. There is much truth in the adage"it takes a village to raise a child." We in the United States are so busy supporting whatever the ACLU's agenda is. What is next? Are we also to approve of sex with animals as has been the case in, I believe Switzerland or the Netherlands ? We need government which represents the majority. This country was founded on Christian principles yet the government has decided to allow abortion at any point, before and after birth. If you don't want the baby, put it in a different and let it die, or tear a baby apart in the womb and cause tremendous suffering of the baby and mother. Obama supports letting the ifant starve in anothe room.Where doe it all end? Isn't this legalized murder? I am a Christian and I am a public servant. Allowing an anything goes policy in the United States has created a monster in the mental health fiield. We need to support lisomeone who supports life and family values.
