They arrested reporters who came to video tape how the policy handled protestors.

If the police can knock around and arrest reporters, how do we expect to have a free press. It's convenient to label everybody who disagrees with you a terrorist but it's flamingly inaccurate.

An election is supposed to be about a public airing of whats important. Instead we get controlled scripted speeches where the candidates get hidden away from reporters so they don't make embarassing gaffes.

Rioting should never be an option. I disagree with the Republicans but this kind of activity merely gives the GOP fodder for sympathy or innocent opponents a bad rap. I am glad the FBI was on top of it. This is not how we are supposed to do things in the US.

I have noticed how Republicans seem to be a magnet for Islamic terrorists, I wonder why.

    • Posted By: archmsu @ 09/05/2008 4:25:06 PM

Because Republicans don't support terrorists like liberals.

Liberal fanatics................If you don't agree woth them, they'll try to kill or hurt you. They're kinda like fascists "my way or no way." Hitler would be proud!

Good job Michael Isikoff for standing up for Amy Goodman at the press conference in St. Paul. I was glad to see you say that you had the same question that she was trying to follow-up with. I must say I am dissapointed in the other reporters there, who were going to let them toss Amy Goodman out, even though she is a properly credentialed reporter. Thanks again for doing what's right.

The police are better trained and equipped to meet the threat of violent protesters than they were when the pot fueled hammerheads of the 1960's were entertaining us with their little circus of activities- and today we have the ability to get DNA for the files in case they use muiltiple ID's in addition to photos and prints when they are arrested. Violent protest in today's world - following 911 - is not an acceptable option for any group. We cannot take the chance anymore. Some of these idiots in St Paul wore black balaclavas to mask their identity and they caused considerable property damage and hurt some people. Once the gauntlet is thrown down in a situation like that there is no time-out whistle. You would think the protesters would be savvy enough to know when not to light the fuze on the police - but apparently that is the object of the protest - to get the police to react and then claim martyrdom. And the lesson from this is - if you're going to be stupid - you've GOT to be tough.

Well, folks, this kind of thing must take place at all levels of government and in all fifty states if we are to have real change. As long as the democrats and republicans are in power NOTHING is going to get better. Any bets?

IF, by some stretch of the imagination, these demonstrators were not inclinded to the democratic persuasion....then let's look at WHERE WERE THESE SAME KOOKS when the Democratic party was having it's convention....THEY Were DELEGATES at the convention and couldn't do both.....Democrats are narrow minded, pathetic and a drain on our society....Osama will not be taking a bigger bite out of my dollar....WE, Republicans will just cut back, hire less "POOR" people, take more vacations and chill out....IT won't hurt any of your guys because YOU GOTTA HAVE A JOB FIRST!!!!!!!

I was just appalled at the crazies once again getting news coverage. They used to be called the anarchrist bowling league. They would gather outside recruiting centers and through bowiling balls thru the windows. I watched the news coverage that showed them with clothes over there faces as they through concrete trash cans through store windows. What on earth does that do for any cause. They hate there country and I hope they get the book thrown at them. Also Bravo to the law enforcement people that have to deal with these people. They have alot more patience than I would! September 03, 2008. So the mainstream media seems to now be letting up on the Palin baby drama, but we're not. MediaTakeOut.com just received evidence that calls into question whether Gov Palin's alleged son Trig was born when and where she claims.

We conducted a preliminary search of the Mat-Su Regional hospital's website (where baby Trig was supposedly born on April 18th), and the website DOES NOT show any record of Trig's birth. Instead, the site shows that only 2 baby's were born in the hospital that day - an Isaiah Travis and a Kayden Lexus.

It's still not enough for us to CONCLUSIVELY say that Gov Palin is full of it, but we're getting there. So now let's go with what we know AS FACT:

    1. Palin hid her pregnancy from the media. When she finally announced her pregnancy (in March) she was not showing any obvious signs of pregnancy despite being 7 MONTHS PREGNANT - Source.

    2. Gov. Palin mysteriously took her daughter Bristol out of school a few months before the March pregnancy announcement. The "official" reason for Bristol's removal from school was because she caught a serious case of Mononucleosis.

    3. During the time that Bristol was out of school with that "serious case of mono", Trig was born.

    4. No record of Trig's birth is readily available from the hospital which Palin claims to have delivered.

    5. And here is the kicker. Since Bristol is supposedly 5 months pregnant now, she must have conceived her child while she was out of school with that supposed serious case of mono.

    Stay tuned............

What is it you're looking for exactly? Do you think Palin is not fit to be VP because her daughter had a baby?

Not sure what it is that makes a good candidate for you, but that doesn't seem like much of a big deal in my book. I'm not Republican or Democrat, so I really don't care for either candidate, but Palin has done nothing to deserve such scrutiny. Next thin you know, people will be calling for inquiries and investigations if someone in office jerked off when they were a teenager.

      • Posted By: Kboogie @ 09/04/2008 6:31:23 PM

Read the research again. I think the fact that she lied about who actually gave birth to the child, makes her unfit to be VP. She's only been Gov. for 2 years and is already under investigation by the ethics committee.

She's against abortion, even in cases of rape or incest, She opposes sex education in schools, and believes the theory of evolution is a the devil's theory. This is why she's not fit to be VP. She's a step back far women's rights, human rights, and science.

When McC dies in 2 or 3 years, she would be what we have to look forward to as POTUS!!

St. Paul cops were thugs, bullies and punks when I lived there 20 years ago. Some things never change.

    • Posted By: Zogduke @ 09/04/2008 6:20:03 PM

I wish the St. Paul Police Department WOULD focus on stopping violence instead of creating more violence by beating up journalists and peacefully protesting college students. Despite the Rethuglican Party's best efforts for the last eight years, disagreeing with them is still not illegal.

No kidding, those mean old cops arresting sweet little bomb-making anarchists. What is the world coming to??

They're anarchists. Not Democrats. Are you kidding me? Those people are out of the political mainstream - they've just had 8 years of Republican rule, so they're focused on them.

Don't try to call these anarchist terrorists Democrats. UGH.

  • Posted By: bhaley99 @ 09/04/2008 3:41:43 PM

They don't protest Democrats because the wackos are democrats, (but not all democrats are wackos). I hope they didn't use up their vacation time. Oh wait, they don't have jobs. LOSERS

Funny how they can pin a case on rioter's so quickly, but can't complete a wrongful termination by Gov. Sarah Palin quick enough.

Amy Goodman might be a journalist, but she is most certainly no reporter. A reporter checks sources and facts. A reporter reports, and does not editorialize. Any one who knows Amy knows that as long as a source contradicts the mainstream press or is considered an alternate source/view, as long as it fits with her militant views, then she considers the source worthy of air time. Amy take what she likes, puts it in her journal and it comes out at some point as editorial news peices. Amy, if you dont want to get arrested, then stop sticking your nose in beyond the curb. Amy is known for crossing lines and insinuating herself into the drama. If you dont want to be caught up in the event, then stop stand back, stand down and stop being part of the story. You are a disengenous hypocrite and it's time you were called on your buffoonery.

  • Posted By: theengineer @ 09/04/2008 3:14:49 PM

Amy Goodman may be some sort of journalist, if you consider repackaging alternate texts into news stories to be journalism, but she is no reporter. A reporter checks her sources AND her facts. Amy checks neither. As long as a story, source or fact agrees with her alternate agenda, then she adds it to her journal and reports. That is the extent of her journalism. Amy inserted herself into the demonstration, as he always does, trying to get exposure. Then she cries foul when she gets arrested. Amy, If you dont want to be part of the story, then step back, stand down and dont get in the picture. What a hypocrite, trying to frame the police

Hey, leave this people alone; they're just "community organizers".

    • Posted By: avg joe25 @ 09/04/2008 2:32:45 PM

and you must be trying to be 'funny' -- I have seen enough of what governors have done to our country -- maybe we need a community organizer now.
