I was VERY offended by Palin's comments about "I guess a community organizer is something like a small town mayor,...."
I thought her sarcasm was offensive. A community organizer is someone of voluntarily helps and contributes to America from the grass roots up. How could that ever be a bad thing. For Palin to make light of community organizers was disgusting and and is a CLEAR indication that she is NOT America's next sweetheart and reveals a hypocritical DARK spirit. How can I trust her to help put America on the right track, when she is disrespecting the VERY PEOPLE who make contributions voluntarily out of their LOVE of country?

I thought Palin should have used the time to shore up her OWN bio and recognition, since nobody knows her from Adam. But no, she comes out swinging just as if Karl Rove himself wrote her speech. Oh....I guess maybe he did?

Here is the real story that Palin fails to acknowledge.

    Obama Community Organizer
    Palin Hockey Mom

    Obama Harvard Law Professor
    Runner up beauty queen

    Obama Illinois State Legistaltor
Palin Sports Caster (wow what qualifications for VP)

Obama United States Senator 3 years (USA)
Palin Governor 2 years of a state in middle of nowehere (Alaska) one of the least populous states.

Obama Presidential candidiate - 2 years
Palin Vice Presidential candidate - 1 week

    or how about this one!

Joe Biden - Law Practice and City Counselman 3 years
Joe Biden - United States Senator 35 years (took office in 1973)

Sarah Palin - Alaska Governorer - 2 years

I don???t think Govenor Palin has much to be bragging about!

      You forgot one trhing:
Obama: Harvard Law degree (7 years) and professor of constitutional law.
Palin: 4 year Bachelor's in Journalism, attending 6 colleges in 7 years.

      ljohnson333,

let's be fair - Palin did minor in politics at the University of Idaho, even if it did take her 6 tries and 6 years.

I have some concerns about Ms. Palin. After listening to her speech which was a well crafted speech that ws written for her. I like the fact that she can stand up and play with the big boys . She can sling mud with the best of them her speech porved that she can do that. Just in case anyone hasn't noticed this is the most ingaged election in history. Here are my concerns. I waited to hear what kind of change she was gong to bring , what was she going to bring to the table and I am still waiting. There was no mention of health care she has 5 children do they all have health insurance? Is it affordable ? The economy is tanking , I have kids who i am going to want to send to college what is she doing to do to help? We have a miliatary that is streched so thin.We can't afford another war, We are known around the world as being the bully on the block. How is she going to help bring unity? We have a planet in peril and there is so much more . But not once did she confort me by even mentioning any of these . Why are they keeping her form doing a interview with the media ? I want to see the real Sarah Palin. I need more than just smear . This is serious and this scares me .

Why not ask the same questions of Obama? With the deficit and the debt we are facing, how is he going to give 95% of Americans tax cuts. He won't make it up by pulling troops out of Iraq, especially when he wants to send them to afghanistan and beyond if needed. That will neither be free or bloodless. He will tax business and they will either downsize or raise prices on their goods. How will that help the average American? How will umpteen social programs that we can't pay for put us in a stronger position? How will opening our doors to millions of illegal immigrants? The only sane way to save this country is to cut spending on everything but the most vital of services. Get pac, private, corporate and every other kind of money out of politics. Public 100% transparent money is the way to get the filth in government cleaned. And get the idealogs out of politics. It's like running the budget of a home. Be practical, say no to yourself and be realistic about what you can get and what's important. I don't go for the pie in the sky that Obama puts out and I don't follow the beliefs of McCain. That leaves people like me out in the cold this time. McCain is too entrenched in what he thinks is best for us and Obama is much more concerned about elevating himself than elevating the country. Be afraid because there are no choices this time that will make things better. It's between rampant conservatism and rampant socialism and I'm not voting for either.

I think most women know other women like Sarah Palin. Her true colors came across when she gave her speech, she was rude and self-righteous, I don't think Hillary Clinton supporters will go for her and Sarah does have 2 or 3 serious eithics complaints against her in Alaska.

    • Posted By: fsuttonnc @ 09/05/2008 8:52:54 AM

I am a life long democrat and a feminist and I for one am very impressed with Gov. Palin's record. I was also a Hillary Clinton supporter. I, as many of my friends and associates, will be supporting Palin. You have bought into the media smears.Check the facts, there is only 1 investigation & that is her firing of an insubordinate staffer who would not fire her ex brother in law trooper who shot his step son with pepper spra.

      • Posted By: sherry31 @ 09/05/2008 9:24:08 AM

so really you werent a true democrat? you cAN JUST CHANGE PARTIES BECUASE A WOMAN IS ON THE TICKET? THAT IS WHAT THE REPUBLICANS WANT THE WOMEN TO THINK. THAT WE ARE SO DUMB TO GO FOR THIER PARTY AS LONG AS THEY PUT ANY WOMEN ON THE TICKET. IF THAT WAS THE CASE I SHOULD BE RUNNING IN IT. ITS A DISGRACE TO WOMEN

        • Posted By: Wise up @ 09/05/2008 9:59:44 AM

I dont hear you calling the people voting for Obama because he's Black Dumb.

          • Posted By: sherry31 @ 09/05/2008 10:34:05 AM

oh if you forgot obama is half white, in iowa the state is 90% white. and a lot of black people arent voting for obama because he's black when he has rally"s and town hall meetings i see all kinds of mixed ethnic groups. if black are voting for him just because he is black they are dumb. and i am a black woman. mostly more white people are at his rally" and meeting than black people. and latinos and chinese its amazing. only 37 black people were invited to the republican national convention. the only reason why obama had his nomination speech at the football stadium is because he wanyted anybody to be invited. he did not car who it was the people did not have to wear a name tag or have to show id to get in his convention likke the republicans did. then for sarah palin had to joke abouth that? why oh they did not want the public to come to their convetion god forbid they would have to mingle with the common folk. i saw mostly white people at obama speech. he doesn'' t care about color or creed. he did not care who came. that is why he will will. he has mostly all of the young white people, mostly women, all of the latino vote and all black and chines he weloomes them all. did john mccain ytalk anyting about helping out each ethnic group. no obama said that there is no red america no blue america, no left wing no right wing. just one america

dear debinked: first of all with all due respect to clinton, obama won the nomination fair and square he did not have to kiss hillary clinton ass. this man won 11 states in a row. where is his respect? he could have picked and damn person he wanted for his vice president pick it is his cvampaign not hers. and i bet you that if hiliary would have won the nomination barack would have been supporting her and his suppoters would have been behind her and supported for her for at day one. i am tired of these people saying oh he didn't treat her right. she lost she lost he won. where is his respect she got 18 million votes. he got 18 million votes where is his respect for him. what are they mad at she lost. he won. get over it. what was he suppose to do surrender? he did not do anything bad to her she talked about him bad too. and is was sad because they had asked all the of the people who voted for obama would you vote for clinton if she had won the primary 60% said that they would,. so why were all of the hillary suppoters acting like they woud not vote for obama. he had more choices to pick form besides her. come on people you are missing the picture get a life and grow juo and move on

  • Posted By: nohawksforme @ 09/05/2008 9:21:20 AM

I lost faith in this lady when I found out her speech was written by a man who wrote speeches for GW Bush. She is going to be a puppet. Granted, she is a pretty puppet and she delivered the speech well, but behind the GOP will always be a Karl Rove-type presence. There will be more of the tactics of the last 8 years, which they also controlled.

    • Posted By: Wise up @ 09/05/2008 10:01:52 AM

News flash all the speaches you have heard from both parties where written by SPEACH WRITERS. They are every year.

What she said was the truth! Maybe the democrats should have done more research on Obama before they nominated him!

God help us if somehow John McCain is elected and Sarah Palin is VP. Not that McCain is a bad person, but Sarah Palin would be a heartbeat away from the highest office.
I read a letter from a fellow Alaskan that knows her. Everyone should read it before they think of voting for the McCain/palin ticket.

    http://mudflats.wordpress.com/2008/09/04/a-letter-about-sarah-palin-from-anne-kilkenny/

We can not afford to gamble or take a chance on someone (like Gov. Palin) with so little experience or qualifications. Her list of accomplishments is no where on the same level as McCain's, much less Barrack Obama's ans Joe Biden. Republicans know it. Democrats know it. And soon the american people will know it.

    • Posted By: japs123 @ 09/05/2008 9:39:57 AM

Gov. Palin may be a heartbeat away but Obama is running for presidency, my goodness sake! talk about lack of experience.

  • Posted By: sherry31 @ 09/05/2008 9:38:43 AM

i think that it is a disgrace to women that just becuase john mccain put a woman on the ticket thinking that we will flock to her. if that was the case i should go and run for republican. they just want women. and what will happen when she is asked about foriegn issues. they will have to teach her. i thought that you had to have experinece to run isn't that is what they keep hammering obama about. but they said that is okay she has executive experience it doesn't matter if she doesn't know anything else? she has to know a lot. if going for vp i would think. no one is going after her as a woman get real. i am so glad that obama is going positive with this he has respected and said nothing bad about her he only talked about the issues. he even stood ujp for sarah palin and her daughter saying that is off limits. that shows the character of a good president.

I thinkd that is is great to have Ms.Palin on the republivcan ticket. I respect that she has done so mujch in Alaska. But the jury is still out on her , I watched her well crafted speech which was nothing but a speech . I have p problem with a woman who uses smear tactics like the way she did has anybody examined that 50%of her speech was smear. This is a serious time in our world and I want someone who understands where the world is , what has happened in and what is happening in it . Please I want to hear substance . I want to hear about what you are to bring to the table to make the world safer . I am sick of our country being the big bully on the block . I have kids and this frightens me . Our military is streched thin , jobs are at a all time low . the economy is tanking , the planet is in perlis and health care is unaffordable . Shje has 5 kids do they have health insurance?.What is Ms. Palin going to do to help change? Throwing mud is not going to change anything . Is she taking this position serious? People, I want to hear an interview where no one can help her . I want to see the real Sarah Palin

Finally! A woman who represents me - a career and family woman with traditional values! The media and many democrats think all educated career women are liberals. NO! I love Sara Palin because she shares my values and isn't afraid to fight for them. Go McCain and Palin. America needs you!

  • Posted By: britt502 @ 09/05/2008 7:07:54 AM

I think Ms.Palin is exactly what Washington needs and why not? Women see things differently and she can really take the cigar smoking, cocktail drinking, under the table deals of washington and turn it around for us. She did it in Alaska and I think she will do it again. I bet washington is wiping the sweat off their sexist brow right now. Everyone says well she didn't talk about this or she didn't talk about that. Do you realize that there are so many issures and everyone what their issue talked about. I am telling you people, She is tuff, and she is what Sexist Washington Needs!!

All Republicans, Palin, McCain, and their supportors in this forum will never get it.............Its the economy stupid, it's rich against the poor and middle class, it's peacemakers against war-mongers, it's those fortunate helping those less fortunate, just for starters

  • Posted By: mmp808 @ 09/05/2008 12:18:29 AM

As a woman, I'm offended that Palin was likely picked to get my vote. I'm smarter than that. Similar to what a previous poster said, why would I vote for McCain/Palin if their views do not mesh with mine? That's insane.

    • Posted By: mnmqt21 @ 09/05/2008 1:55:08 AM

Thank you for your wisdom. Please read the letter about who Sarah Palin really is.

So someone writes a letter about Palin and its the gospel truth? Additionally, if you are so concerned about ethical behavior how can you stand Obama / Biden as well?

        Pot.
        Kettle.
        Black.

Or are we not allowed to say that because its racist?

Gov. Palin is an accomplished governor who took on entrenced special interests and corrupt politicians even within her own party. While Obama's community organizer job was as an apprentice for the So Chicago Daly political machine that has lead corruption for decades. Check out his campaign architects and those who molded his radical left political tactics. Gov Palin is a proven reformer; quite the opposite. She has a real record of accomplishment. Obama has a record of speeches. And Obama is running for #1 while Palin for #2 spot. Obama talks of a new politics - decent, fair, uplifting while his practice has been just the opposite. He lied about accepting campaign public funds when he saw he could outspend McCain 10:1. When McCain paid for an ad to congratulate Obama for 'Job well done' the day Obama took the nod Obama turned around and fired attacks on McCain on his big day. Obama's is low life. He is the puppet of George Soros - the mastermind of the new world order - sick, evil and depraved and possibly coming to a community near you.
McCain/Palin are pro-life and recognize the greatest evil being perpetrated on society is the massive slaughter of the most innocent among us: the infants their mother's wombs. Who speaks up for their rights? Who gives them a choice? Abortion degrades humanity both male and female. Over 40,000,000 abortions in this country alone since Roe vs Wade. That is crimminal. Sarah Palin trully is a breath of fresh air in polluted society.

I don't think it will matter to Ms. Palin what women want. If Mcsame and Palin make it to the White House we will all be living under the PALIN TALIBAN.
