Alvy.... I heard to from a friend of mine how MC Cain sold confidential infos to the communists... I also heard by people who were in vietnam at the time that he does not want the government to release M I As records. It is because they know something we don't? I also heard he was a traitor from the same POWs I know.

You heard, not facts, and I have several friends who were there also and they say different, they respect him fully. A veteran he was a prisoner with, says he was a hero, he did do these heroic things, and the guy told it on TV. Are your friends jealous. I haven't heard any of the garbage you wrote about and I also know several Vietnam Vets. Don't write garbage about people unless you know for a fact it is true and you can prove it, especially someone running for President, its called defamation of character and if he is what you said, I would watch my back. I was a Democrat for 61 years and still was until this year. After reading what so many Democrats have had to say in these comments pages, rude, ugly, stupid, ridiculous, I am glad I am now an independent and vote for the person and not the party. I guess next, we will have a war in America between the Democrats and Republicans. Glad I am for NRA.

NRA promotes guns. You love the NRA. If it doesn't worry you that innocent Americans are murdered every day by guns, what point is there in worrying about anything else?

He chaired the committee that closed his file. He looked so old tonight. That "fight with me" was just underwhelming. What's he going to do for jobs? Eight straight months?

"God help us...", "How can you believe/vote/accept..." and so forth.

You people who say these things...you are what is wrong with the world, with the process. You are the reason we get horrid nominees, you are the reason that the Presidential election process fails. You are the person who thinks the President controls the Economy, you are the person who thinks that the Supreme Court supports abortion on the basis of death or life and again that the President controls these laws, you are the person who says you better vote for my nominee you idiot, you are the person who reads these message boards avidly and are sitting there right now thinking up your witty retort and finding links to something someone else said to prove you are right...you are what is wrong.

What you should be doing is so increasingly obvious and everyday you fail and ruin it. So let me join your ranks and say,,,

God help us...if you can't discern that you are being duped, that the economy is run by our creditors, currently the largest holder being China. God help us if you don't know that abortion law is protected by the privacy laws and rights of every person of the United States Citizenship. God help us if historically Republicans have done more for personal rights and freedoms than any other party...God help us if you don't know that Thomas Jefferson was a Republican...and God help us when we have to live in a country with so much and share it with people who appreciate it so little.

I know of someone ........they call her Janet from another planet.....are you related

      • Posted By: valark @ 09/05/2008 7:52:31 AM

Thanks Veronica for being exactly what I meant, It is always nice when someone illustrates your point so simply.

Thanks for giving us Obama as a nominee. Any other time in history with the sitting President doing so poorly, the opposing side's nominee would be ahead by double digits. Thanks to you and your several different login names...I mean friends...this isn't the case and with the Vice-President nominees made, it has become clear where the winning party will be.

Thanks for saying its all about the economy, which you know nothing about since your post a few above these equates the economy with a class division. Or maybe you meant something else and just don't pick your words carefully, since they are two different things and if they were intradependent as you imply, it would reduce the class division not enhance it. However, they aren't related, dependent or synonymous. But maybe thats why you said "its the economy stupid", so most people with a brain would turn away before their mind got damaged from trying to make sense of your personalized sound bites.

The media along with many dems and the Obama campaign had been beating on Sarah Palin hard for atleast 4 days. Sarah showed during her speech that not only can she take mulitple punches but she can throw mulitple punches and she is up for the challenge. I LOVE that fighting spirit in her! I respect it. Sarah Palin isn't here to start any fights but she is letting the MSM and Obama campaign know that she won't run from a fight either! Gotta Love it!!

As much as it pains me to criticize the candidate who I have STRONG defended, I must! It truly disappoint me to see how Clinton, who fought so hard during the primaries and promised her supporters that she would stand with us as long as we stood with her simply give in, throw out her principles and support a candidate and a party that did everything they could to destroy her. Obama NEVER even seriously considered her for VP or even consulted with her about it. Now that Palins in the picture, the Obama camp is worried and they should be. So what does he do--his camp assembles a team of high profile women to campaign for him and YES Hillary is one of those women who is a part of that team. Sorry but I simply CAN NOT respect that!

I like McCain's stance when he says, he'd rather lose an election than lose the war. Those are principles. It seems that Hill is more concerned about her career within the same party that treated her and her husband like dogs than standing up for her principles. Very disappointed! She talked about the little girls that she was inspiring well to me, what she is telling the little girls that it is ok to be turned on by your own party and then allow them to use you! Sorry, that is simply NOT a lesson I want my girls to be a part of! Very disappointed!

It really looks like McCain made a GREAT choice with Palin and again, I LOVE her fighting spirit! She is truly a breath of fresh air!!

McCain, you outdid yourself with this one!!

    McCain/Palin--- 08

How about McCain losing the election and the war?

    • Posted By: ozarkajuice @ 09/05/2008 10:31:23 AM

that is what i love you about you debunked. you are the biggest hyporcrite i know. i find it so funny that, when Mccain camp was dogging hillary by saying IF hillary cant take the punches she drop out. you didnt say oh mr Mccain would you tell your pitbulls to stop. but now here you are asking the media to stop asking palin questions.

well like palin said she is a pitbull with lipstick. if she can dish out the punches, then she sure the hxll can take them. so stop with his Please leave Brittany Alone crap.

      • Posted By: Debunked! @ 09/05/2008 12:38:35 PM

Juice, when did I EVER say ANYTHING about the media askin Palin questions? When? If anything I said if she can't handle the media's pounding, then she can't handle being vp. Well she DEFINITELY showed that she can handle her own and I was VERYYYYYYY impressed!

      • Posted By: Debunked! @ 09/05/2008 12:35:13 PM

I honestly don't know what you are talking about ESPECIALLY since I don't recall EVER saying ANYTHING about the McCain camp dogging Clinton.

    • Posted By: ozarkajuice @ 09/05/2008 10:52:12 AM

this is why i love mccain supporters. they are so delusional, that they have to make stufff up. so you blame Obama when Mccain couldnt remember how many homes he owns. And that he told the media, he will have his ppl get back to that question.

come on vakosh, mccain does it to him self. but then again, you are probaly like palin who blames the democrats for f ing up america for the last 8 years.

tip for you. STOP DRINKING THE KOOLAID

    • Posted By: sherry31 @ 09/05/2008 10:47:18 AM

DEAR VAKOSH: IF OBAMA IS SUCH A WOMAN HATER, WHY WAS HE NOT THE REPUBLICAN PARTY OR NONE OF HER SUPPORTERS SUPPORTED HER WHEN ALL OF THE BAD STUFF WAS SAID ABOUT HER. THE ONLY PEOPLE WHO GOT ON T V AND SUPPORTED HER WAS OBAMA AND BIDEN HE TOLD OFF THE MEDIA WHEN THEY ASKED HIM ABOUT PALIN ANF HER FAMILY ISSUES HE SAID TO LEAVE HER AND HER FAMILY ALONE. HE SAID THAT HIS MOM WAS PREGNANT WITH HIM AT AGE 17. SO HE WAS VERY OFFENDED WHEN HE FOUND OUT HOW THE MEDIA WAS ACTING TOWARDS SARAH PALIN. SHAME A DEMOCRAT HAD TO DEFEND HER. THE REPUBLICAN S JUST SIT BACK AND WAITED FOR HER TOI DEFEND HERSELF. OBAMA DID NOT OWN THE MEDIA, THE MEDIA WAS THERE EVEN BEFORE WE KNEW OBAMA. BUT I TELL YOU ONE THING EVEN AFTER OBAMA AND BIDEN STOOD UP FOR HER SHE STILL TALKED BAD. HEY I GUESS SHE IS A REAL TWO FACED BARACUDA

  • Posted By: Donna1000 @ 09/05/2008 10:38:20 AM

How is Sarah Palin an embarrassment? How is she a flake?

Is this because of her social policy positions? I don't agree with her social policy positions. However, when I look at her actions, I see that she delivers economically for her constitutents and I know that I couldn't hope to handle half, or even a quarter, of what she handles on a daily basis. I'm in awe of her capability.

On social policy, it seems to me that she tries to make room for different points of view. Let's teach evolution AND creationism, not one or the other. Make up your own mind. That is actually the American way. Progressive left wing dogma is just as flaky to some Americans as conservative right wing dogma is to other Americans. Watch who you call a flake, because, to many Americans, the flake is Barack Obama.

I am a mother, a school teacher and an educated woman, and more than anything I know being a mom is tough. But what I don't understand is what makes Palin some sort voice for women everywhere. She has yet to explain how she even feels about the issuses cause she's too busy taking shots at Obama. What does she want to do to change these schools that are so very under funded or what can she really do to help teenage mothers like some tuition assistance so they can better themselves for the sake of their children. Woman or no woman, she can't help until she knows what the real problems are.

    • Posted By: busby @ 09/05/2008 10:49:59 AM

Sorry, but she's allowed to take shots at Obama. Did he and his supporters think that he could run and remain sacrosanct? Politicics in this country is like the present programing on cable and tv. It is actually dumbing down americans

      • Posted By: LoveObamaTillDeath @ 09/05/2008 11:16:58 AM

Clearly busby, you missed my whole point, like most ppl on this site do. I don't care about the shots at Obama, he is a grown man, he is not going to go cry about it. But Palin won't say anything about America's problems because she doesn't have any answers. Duh.

        • Posted By: busby @ 09/05/2008 12:44:24 PM

Do you "duh" your pupils too when they don't agree with you,. You would be teaching my kids about two minutes.. She doesn't explain how she feels about issues because she is too busy taking shots at Obama? That''s a vice presidential candidate's role., DUH!!!

          • Posted By: reisbergsgal @ 09/05/2008 1:53:21 PM

busby- please shut up. You don't know what you're talking about. LoveObamaTillDeath is right on-- you would think that if Palin has TONS of better ideas and plans than Obama, she's be sharing them with us. But she wasn't-- because she doesn't have any. But then I guess, what else was she supposed to do with the speech time- dance?

            • Posted By: busby @ 09/05/2008 3:27:46 PM

excuse me. A vice presidential candidate's role is to be the attack dog so the presidential candidate can stay above the fray. Just like Obama stays above the fray and sends his ruthless little stooges and media to slice and dice. Don't think for a minute that they don't do all the same thing. I'm not the one with gauze stuffed into my six senses.

              • Posted By: Hi I'm in IL @ 09/05/2008 8:29:15 PM

How about a campaign where neither side has to attack. The great citizens of this great country are only given the facts and use those facts to decide for whom to vote. Wouldn't that be a breath of fresh air? No dumbing down needed. I want policies, not to know who was more unfaithful etc, etc...

        • Posted By: valark @ 09/05/2008 11:59:10 AM

No, she didn't speak about these "issues" of yours at the convention because it was not the place to do so. She was giving her ACCEPTANCE SPEECH, not having a national debate. I don't recall Obama or Biden explaining their plans and decisions on how they are going to resolve these "issues" when they did their acceptance speeches either.

But hey, you probably think the President controls the economy and the Vice-President makes decisions on their own.

      • Posted By: sherry31 @ 09/05/2008 10:58:44 AM

HEY BUSBY, SO WHEN OBAMA HAD DEFENDED SARAH PALIN TO THE MEDIA HE AND NOT THE REPUBLICANS CAME TO HER DEFENSE, HE SAID THAT HER WHOLE FAMILY WAS OFF LIMITS AND HER PERSONAL WAS NOT SUPPOSE TO BE BROUGHT UP.OBAMA GOT ON CNN AND SAID THAT HE WAS OFFENDED AS WELL HIS OWN MOM WAS 17 WHEN HE WAS BORN. SO HER FAMILY WAS OFF LIMITS AND IF HE KNEW ANYONE WOULD SPREAD SUCH THINGS IN HIS CAMP THEY WOULD GET FIRED!! SO HE TOOK POSITVE SHOTS AND DEFENDED HER AND SHE TOOK CHEAP SHOTS. AT HIM THE NEXT NIGHT. WOW SHE IS A BRIDGE TO NOWHERE

        • Posted By: busby @ 09/05/2008 12:54:36 PM

Oh please. Read my post in here. I'm not for any of them. They will all stink as president. However, it IS obama;s tactic to make nice and to love his enemy which his campaign and his bloggers like you make hamburger out of anybody who doesn't belong to the cult. And that includes democrats. And don't write in caps if you want to be understood.

          • Posted By: sherry31 @ 09/06/2008 4:03:37 AM

HEY SO IT NOT TO DEFEND SOMEONE. THIS MAN OWN MOM HAD HIM AT 17. HE DOES NOT LOVE HIS ENEMY HE JUST IS THE ONLY CANDIDATE TALKING ABOTU POSITIVE ISSUES. NOT WAR WAR WAR ALL THE TIME PEOPLE ARE TIRED AND HAD ENOUGH OF IT. WE NEED TO FIGHT OUR OWN BATTLES OVER HERE. NONE OF THE SO CALLED REPUBLICANS CAME TO HER DEFENSE. SO WHAT WERE THEY PLAYING? SAD, SOMEONE FROM THE OTHER PARTY HAD TO STAND UP FOR HER. THAT IS WHAT A REAL PRESIDENT DOES STAND UP FOR PEOPLE OTHER THAN THEMSELVES. MCCAIN AND PALIN DID NOT SAY ONE THING ABOUT HELPING PEOPLE IN THE CONVETION AT ALL

            • Posted By: busby @ 09/06/2008 5:24:04 AM

How's he gonna pay for all his "positive issues? We're already broke in this country. I DO NOT want China to buy up more credits. They own enough of the US as it is. Where is the common sense in all this? It's fine to promise everything to everybody - it gets votes. But we have NO WAY to pay for all this. This country is about nine trillion dollars in debt and, if we continue on like this, we're gonna reap the whirlwind. Where is Obama going to get all this money to fund a program to satisfy each and everyone of us? Use your head. Tax cuts for 95% of the people, public works programs, revamping the entire educational system, universal health care except for the fifteen million people they don't want to talk about, war in Afghanistan, taking lobbyists' power away while encouraging their families to donate. I can't understand how so many supposedly rational people are blinded. And, no I am neither a racist nor a McCain supporter. Just a totally disgusted and worried moderate democratl

      • Posted By: ozarkajuice @ 09/05/2008 10:58:02 AM

and your right. she is allowed to take shots at obama. but whenits reverse on her, her ppl want to call it sexism. and its funny, those same ppl told hillary, if she cant take the hits, then she should drop out. talk about hypocrites.

        • Posted By: busby @ 09/05/2008 12:58:31 PM

And like you people don't scream racism until you are blue in the face? If you can't take the name calling, then don't call names. She did just what a vice presidential candidate is supposed to do. Have you ever heard of attack dog. Oh, Jonathan Alter is the only one certified to do that! Try a little less hypocrisy and a little more humility and maybe you won't have so many of your own party throwing their hands up in disgust.

          • Posted By: sherry31 @ 09/05/2008 1:12:09 PM

BUSBY: SHE DID NOT WANT TO DO ANY NAME CALLING, THE MCCAIN CAMP MADE HER TOO. MCCAIN WAS EVEN UNCOMFORTABLE WITH IT. THAT IS WHY HE DID NOT DO ANY OF THAT IN HIS SPEECH. SO IF SHE DID WHAT A VICE PRESIDENT IS SUPPOSE TO DO BE NEGATIVE, THE HOW WAS IT THAT JOE BIDEN AND OBAMA HAD STOOD UP FOR HER IN THE MEDIA TELLING THE MEDIA TO LEAVE HER ALONE. OH NO, THE REPUBLICAN PARTY DID NOT STAND UP FOR HER.. THEY JUST WANTED IT TO PLAY OUT. SINCE, SHE WAS DOING WHAT AS YOU SAID THAT A VICE PRESIDENT IS SUPPOSE TO DO BY JOKING ALL NIGHT AND NOT TALKING ABOUT ANY ISSUES.? NOW LWT ME TELL YOU WHAT A VICE PRESIDENT AND A PRESIDENTIAL NOMINEE IS SUPPOSE TO DO. WHEN BIDEN AND OBAMA WAS ASKED ABOUT SARAH PALIN: FAMILY ISSUES THEY DID NOT GO ALL ATTACK DOG ON HER, INSTEAD THEY SAID POSITIVE STUFF ABOUT HER, THEY SAID TO LEAVE HER FAMILY ALONE AND TALK ABOUT THE ISSUES IN AMERICA. THAT IS WHAT MATTERS. OBAMA NOT MCCAIN, NOT MICK ROMNEY, NOT THAT STUPID EX ,MAYOR OF NEW YORK, OR LIEBERMAN CAME TO HER DEFENSE, BUT 2 DEMOCRATS SAID THAT THEY WERE OFFENDED BY HOW THE MEDIA WERE TALKING BAD ABOUT HER FAMILY. SO SARAH PALIN CAN KEEP UP WITH THE NAME CALLING BUT SHE HAS TO GROW UP AND TALK SERIOUS ISSUES

            • Posted By: busby @ 09/05/2008 3:31:34 PM

Do you think they want to be called sexists? After everyone who hasn't kissed the feet of Obama have been called racists, do you think they'd take the chance? I don't. You people can't seem to get it straight. You can't corner the market on nastiness and name calling. Get It.

              • Posted By: sherry31 @ 09/06/2008 4:12:55 AM

SO WHO WAS SUPPOSE TO STAND UP FOR HER THEN? NO NOE HAS BEEN CALLED A RACIST UST BECAUSE THAT DID NOT SUPPORT OBAMA. I COULD CARE LESS ABOUT THE PEOPLE WHO DON'T LIKE IT. BUT KNOW I CAN SEE FROM THE REPUBLICANS WHY? IF YOU WANT TO TALK ABOUT RACISM HOW ABOUT THE ONLY 37 BLACK PEOPLE THAT THE MCCAIN CMPAIGN INVITED TO THE CONVENTION. ONE THING ABOUT OBAMA HE HAD HIS AT A STADIUM WHERE EVERYONE CAN COME. IT DID NOT MATTER WHAT COLOR, RELIGION, OR CREED. YOU ID NOT HAVE TO HAVE A VIP PASS TO GET IN OR ANYTHING JUST COME. I GUESS THAT MCCAIN AND PALIN DID NOT WANT TO MINGLE WITH THE COMMON FOLK

          • Posted By: ozarkajuice @ 09/05/2008 1:10:40 PM

well said. since she is a attack dog, then the media and others can question her with out being called sexist. if she can deal the punches, then by god she can take them.

  • Posted By: Careful @ 09/05/2008 11:17:52 AM

I'm not sure about Palin. As a career woman, I get it. All the hard work it takes to balance home and work. Yet, my work only affects me and my children. Not the children of the entire nation. That is a lot to take on and mind you, I am not being sexist, far from it. However, realistically speaking it puts a little knot in my stomach that her views and decisions will affect all of our children. I like so far what little I have seen about her. She is a spitfire...good for her. Yet I still have that knot. Education begins in the home but when you need back up it sure is nice to know that your government is there to assist. Darn that knot in my stomach. I know I am not the only woman who likes her but feels a gut feeling that she is just not quite right for us and our children. I hope I am really wrong.

    • Posted By: elizabethpaige @ 09/09/2008 4:46:01 AM

You are correct. Palin is not the right woman for America's children - or their parents.

  • Posted By: DemInDenver @ 09/05/2008 2:48:21 PM

She is just palin bad for America...

  • Posted By: katmdo @ 09/05/2008 4:39:33 PM

As a mother of a "special needs" child, I cannot vote for Sarah Palin. She put herself and her unborn disabled child in serious jeopardy by flying to Texas to give a speach. I can never understand why she felt the need to by-pass medial facilities (even in Alaska) that are experienced in dealing with premature births especially a high risk births.

How could a mother put her political aspirations above her daughter? She had to know by announcing the pregnancy of her unmarried 17 year old daughter was going to put Bristol right in the headlights. I can not understand why approving a marriage at this young age will somehow make it all right.

It seems to me she would need to get her house in order before she sets her sites on the rest of the country.

I don't believe she has any idea what she is in for with a disabled infant. It's great her husband will have nothing else to work on but the children. But where are her motherly feelings??

    • Posted By: Mimi13 @ 09/05/2008 8:12:51 PM

I'm with you on this, katmdo. To bypass so many first class hospitals with neonate units, fly 12 hours, drive another 2 hours to get to a small hospital in Wasilla that has NO neonate unit to have an at-risk baby delivered by a general practitioner makes no sense at all -- unless she was hoping the child would be stillborn. That's a terrible thing to say; but nothing else makes any sense. I still have trouble believing that a 44-year-old woman supposedly in her fifth pregnancy could delay delivery for more than 14 hours after her water broke. I just don't believe that's physically possible.

      • Posted By: elizabethpaige @ 09/09/2008 4:33:10 AM

Sarah and Todd Palin;s DNA can determine if they are the parents or grandparents of the baby.

    • Posted By: DemInDenver @ 09/05/2008 4:48:20 PM

Glad someone said this finally... RIGHT ON!

  • Posted By: aunt_freya @ 09/05/2008 5:07:34 PM

"We're proud of Bristol's decision to have her baby" indicates that young Bristol did have a choice (regardless of her mother's morals) and exercised that right. Funny how Ms. Palin would like to take that choice away from all of the other 17-year-olds in the same position not lucky enough to have a mom tapped to be veep.

    • Posted By: Donna1000 @ 09/05/2008 6:27:48 PM

It sounds as though Sarah Palin respected her daughter's right to choose. Sarah Palin does not believe in abortion but can anyone show the American electorate where she has actually taken action to change any abortion laws? Huh?

      • Posted By: elizabethpaige @ 09/09/2008 4:25:56 AM

To make sure, keep her far from Washington, D.C.

    • Posted By: Donna1000 @ 09/05/2008 6:31:18 PM

One more thing. My boyrfiend's former wife is an evangelical Christian who is opposed to abortion. However, when her 20-year-old son's girlfriend got pregnant, she called me and asked me to talk to the girl and persuade her to have an abortion. I reminded her that choice means just that, choice. To choose to have or not to have a child. Bristol exercised her choice.

I whole harted agree that family members should be off limits. But double standers is another thing.

Every person who is considering voting in November MUST read this. They took the video link off line. But I think enough people saw it and even if they didn???t see it the below statements are true. And I can bet when bloggers do reads this and if they have been listening to cable news, they will remember some if not all of these things truthfully happening. Now if we can get them to Air the Truth.
    It shows three things:

    1. Karl Rove criticized the fact that Virginia Governor Tim Kaine was a possible VP pick for Obama. He said that because he used to be the Mayor of Richmond which has a small population (about 200,000) in comparison to others in the US, and also that he'd only been governor for 3 years (population 7 million), he claimed that this did not constitute sufficient executive experience and would just be a "political pick" rather than concern of the person's capability to be present of the U.S. It then shows him complimenting Sarah Palin's executive experience as Mayor of Wasila (population 9,000) and then as Governor of Alaska (population about 700,000) for 2 years.

    2. It shows Fox News host Bill O'Reilly arguing that the pregnancy of Bristol Palin is a personal family issue and they should not be bothered. Then it shows another video of him blaming Jaime Lynn Spears' parents for her teenage pregnancy.

    3. It shows a video of Dick Morris criticizing people for the supposed sexism against Sarah Palin. It then shows a video of him saying that when Hillary Clinton comes under fire she hides behind the sexism defense and can't handle the big boys. It also shows a video of Sarah Palin back in March saying that women shouldn't whine when there's excess criticism or a sharper microscope put on them but rather work harder and prove themselves. It also shows McCain Senior Policy Advisor Nancy Pfotenhauer criticizing Hillary Clinton for playing the gender and victimization card and complaining of sexism, then saying that Sarah Palin is a victim of sexism.

      Excellent points.

Sarah Palin 'outed' her 17 year old daughter's pregnancy when she didn't need to even mention it.

Incidentally, Sarah Palin gave birth to her first baby less than nine months after she married Todd Palin.

The lying ihypocrite has more nerve than a sore tooth.

Since this board seems to be overwhelmingly Democrats, I was wondering about the 18 million who voted for Hillary. Do you not feel betrayed by B.O.'s pick for VP? He had a perfect opportunity to practically guarantee a victory by including you in his VP pick, but he apparently takes your votes for granted. Why not Hillary? Make no mistake, she now is in a very uncomfortable position. At best, it shows flawed judgement on his part. At worst, it shows textbook narcissism (his not wanting anyone to take any of the spotlight off of him for any reason). Hillary voters, are you out there?

Gee, when you're in a bad mood, it really lasts for quite a while!
And is there really any mature need for all that shouting?

In regard to Obama, you ask - "WHERE IS HIS RESPECT"?

There isn't much left after he denounces America both at home and abroad, criticizes Americans who cling to religion and guns, and associates with racist ministers, terrorists, and at least one felon (at least to date).

Now, have I answered your question truthfully and satisfactorily?

        • Posted By: elizabethpaige @ 09/09/2008 3:48:15 AM

When people are under stress they 'cling' to what is left that is familiar..

You said elsewhere on this site that unemployed Americans can just go out and get another job. In parts of this country, the jobs aren't there. American companies ship American jobs overseas and get large tax breaks.

Millions of patriotic Americans have had enough of the insane war in Iraq. Those people are who you call 'Obamabots.'
          .
McCain and Palin think they are 'tough'. Sen. McCain brags, "I know how to win wars' .
          Absolute rubbish.

Sen. McCain has never ever won a war. He hasn't even been in a war that the USA has won.
He was a POW for 5 1/2 years in another ill-advised war that America, truth be told, lost. And why not? The USA had no business being in that war either.

Sen. Obama warned that the USA was making a big mistake going to war in Iraq. He was right.
Five years and counting, billions of dollars wasted, thousands of dead and maimed Americans.

          Enough already.

Get it straight. No matter what McCain says, the USA can never 'win' on Arab soil.

I do appreciate your acknowledging that you are bitter, and that you do pray.

Quite often that for which we pray may not necessarily be what God considers to be in our best interests.
And that may be the reason why He continues to allow strife to dominate some people's lives.

I'm a Conservative, so I do associate much more with the Republican party instead of the democrat one.

You seem to blame George W. Bush for a lot of your bitterness. Congress also has played quite a part in causing many of the problems in the nation. Maybe that is why, even though the president's approval rating is low, that of Congress is even much lower. Give each their due, and also realize that collectively they are not responsible for everything.

I would humbly suggest that you strive to investigate the actual platforms of both political parties, the extent to which the leaders and supporters truly demonstrate honourable principles, and whether one or both parties adopt the political expedient mantra that the end justifies the means.

Investigate and assess which party truly understands the problems facing the nation, and which party's politicians have actually demonstrated a competence to effect meaningful change, as opposed to merely promising "the world" to gain your vote, and then being unable to deliver."

Although my own life isn't what I would call easy, I am content, optimistic, and appreciative.
I wake up that way, and I go to sleep that way.

I don't look upon myself as a victim, nor do I regard others as victims.

I believe that I am able to solve most problems or difficulties which may come my way, with the grace of God.

If I may suggest, try to do all that you can to the best of your ability, ... and then, just leave the rest to God, trusting that He will help you to be more content, optimistic, and accepting of life's challenges.

Try to reflect several times each day on the blessings and joys that come your way, instead of being mired in the distorted false gloomy picture which the main stream media chooses to portray.

Even try to focus your mind to look upon the obstacles in your life as opportunities.

I do hope that you will manage to dispell your bitterness, and enjoy life!

Sarah Palin, The Paleontologist or Palintologist?

My post here was inspired by Newsweek, September 15, 2008 issue, cover story, "Palin-tol-ogy, The Real Sarah. How Palin sees the world."

If you say Sarah Palin is a Paleontologist or Palintologist, then you are "dead" wrong. Sarah Palin is very young and beautiful, and certainly no dinosaurs. My study and analysis of Palin should not be called Palin-tol-ogy or Paleontology, although I still think Hollywood, California and New York should endorse Palin. It is
because the TV Series "Friends]" gang's Rachelle, Jennifer Aniston, Monica, Courtney Cox, Joey, an Phoebe will all vote for Palin because Ross or David Schwimmer was an Paleontologist. By the same token, New York and California should also elect Palin too. How can Obama win without New York and California?

While Newsweek's campaign slogan could be: "Sarah Palin the Paleontologist or Palin-tol-ogist!"

Buy my slogan will always be: "Electing Sarah Palin is like putting a PAL IN the Whitehouse!"

    According to the Huffington Post:

Palin Slashed "Special Schools" Funding In Alaska

She also won applause on issues regarding special needs of children. But in the "State of Alaska Fiscal Year 2008 Governor's Operating Budget" the "Department of Education and Early Development Special Schools Component Budget Summary" reveals that funds were cut by 38 percent for the fiscal year of 2008-09.

    • Posted By: Davole @ 09/06/2008 10:29:04 PM

      ... Cursing ... -

I notice that your article news source is the huff and puff Huffington Post - definitely one of the most intellectually and factually regarded authorities on this planet!

Governors, unlike senators, have to actually balance a budget.
Senators love to spend, spend, spend the tax payers' money, without any accountability.
Governors are expected to be much more practical.

You state that Governor Sarah Palin has "slashed" special schools funding in Alaska.
How about providing some pertinent meaningful additional background information?

What financial sum was allocated to that special schooling last year?
What is the actual dollar value reduction for 2008 - 2009?
What amount of that specific budget item was actually spent, as opposed to proposed or assigned?
Have any other alternate programs been instituted that would still enable suitable funding for that purpose?

So, as you can now realize (at least hopefully), facts do actually matter in budget considerations.

Regrettably, most obamabots are either confused or dismissive regarding a factual basis for any opinion!

      • Posted By: elizabethpaige @ 09/09/2008 2:42:10 AM

davole - you can just as easily look up those figures - but you won't because you are not interested in the truth. How interested was Sarah Palin in funding for special needs kids before she had one of her own?

She is against abortions even in conditions of rape and incest. She is also a liar. She has been on the campaign trail saying she is against earmarks when she took 27 million in earmarks for her town of 6000 people! She said she was against the bridge to nowhere, when she was for it and took the money (after it was a national joke) and spent on other p projects. She is corrupt!

Has anyone noticed how emasculated John McCain is when he's beside Sarah Palin as she regales the nation with tales of her political derring-do in Alaska?

Oh, sure, John McCain wants the Oval Office but is there no end to the humiliation he'll endure to get it?

If Americans are truly interested in the mentality of Iraq, Iran and Afghanistan, we can listen to Rory Stewart and Nic Robertson, not Sarah Palin..

Conservative evangelists love Sarah Palin. She has brainwashed them into believing that only she is a 'Good Girl' with a pipeline to God's ear.

Unfortunately, Sarah Palin's unmarried 17-year-old daughter who is five months' pregnant can thank her ignorant mother for not teaching her age-appropriate life skills and how to take care of herself.

Did Sarah really practice the 'abstain' method of birth control before she married Todd Palin?

The Palins were married August 29, 1988. Before Sarah had time to perfect her moose stew and burgers recipes, along came rack Palin April 20, 1989.

No wonder Track looked so uncomfortable when the camera panned to him at the National Republican Convention in St. Paul as Mama Sarah introduced him to the nation as "Our 18-year-old son Track" ... (going to Iraq Sept. 11th)

Sarah Palin has since revised his age: "Our 19-year-old son Track ... (going to Iraq Sept. 11th)

More fun than a barrel of monkeys is Sarah Palin stirring up 'fear and paranoia' about terrorists. So similar to Joe McCarthy stirring up 'fear and paranoia' about communists. What a mess that was.

Oh Lord, We Humbly Pray Please Deliver Us From this Evil Pitbull with Lipstick.

God gives all of us free will - maybe regard it as a pro-choice gift.

Most of us know right from wrong, but we each do have a choice.
And if we choose wrong, there is usually some form of punishment, even though God does love us, and wishes the best for us.

In like manner, Sarah Palin, her husband, and their 17 year old daughter would and should know right from wrong.

But individuals, being human, do sometimes make mistakes.

I believe that the manner in which they recognize their frailty, acknowledge their sins, appreciate forgiveness, and strive to live a better life defines the person.

Sarah Palin's family do seem to be a loving and forgiving one. That isn't generally the norm in today's society.

I wouldn't attempt to judge Sarah Palin as being ignorant, nor would I presume that she didn't teach morality to her children.

I do commend Sarah Palin for assuring her daughter that she is still loved, and even forgiven by the family and by God. I believe that reveals a greater dedication to living a good life than, as you say, "teaching her age-appropriate life skills and how to take care of herself." I do not believe that abortion is the answer.

It has been said that the Lord works in mysterious ways - maybe He is doing that right now by testing Sarah Palin to see whether she is ready and capable to help lead the US to a greater respect for morality and personal service to society.

Life is beautiful every day - it's just a shame that so many people on this political website tend to view the obstacles in their lives as problems instead of opportunities.

Many of the supposed news reporters on the various main stream media channels are instead biased commentators who are always looking to portray life as "the pits," and their viewers swallow that viewpoint hook, line, and sinker.

Sarah Palin and the Republicans have been talking about that airplane she sold on ebay. They forgot the facts could be checked. Read the following:

"In fact, the jet did not sell on eBay. It was sold to a businessman from Valdez named Larry Reynolds, who paid $2.1 million for the plane -- shy of the $2.7 million purchase price -- according to news reports at the time. Reynolds contributed to Palin's campaign in 2006.

So much for the "maverick reformer". More half truths and lies. Bush/Cheney = McCain/Palin

    • Posted By: lucman @ 09/06/2008 4:13:50 PM

That is your inference & many others. She said " So I put it on e-Bay". She never said she SOLD it on e-Bay. Maybe you need to review all of the interview clips as do many others who have made the same inference.
This is hpw gossip & untruths starts. Don't you just love it?

I HEARD John McCain proudly state that she "SOLD" the jet on ebay for a PROFIT. The is an election that demands that we all check the facts coming out of politicians mouths. There is a tremendous amount of lying going on. An we owe it to this country to make the right choice this time.

I believe that Sarah Palin said that she listed the airplane on eBay.
I'm not certain about whether John McCain said anything different - I didn't hear or read whether he made any comment in that regard.

But to me, what is important is that the plane was sold, and the money was given back to the public.
That was definitely a unique accomplishment to Sarah Palin's credit!

          • Posted By: elizabethpaige @ 09/08/2008 9:00:15 PM

davole, not so quick with your 'credit' to Palin.

Palin misled America about 'putting' the plane on e-Bay because she failed to mention that the plane was actually sold by a private broker at a $600,000 loss. I think we can safely say both McCain and Palin have tried to mislead the American people as to the disposition of that plane.

      • Posted By: bay_woman @ 09/06/2008 9:50:39 PM

Did Sarah Palin ant the Republicans say that she SOLD the airplane on eBay, or that she LISTED IT there?
      Slight difference!

      • Posted By: elizabethpaige @ 09/08/2008 8:55:04 PM

Palin said she put the plane on e-Bay, John McCain said Palin sold the plane on e-Bay.

In court when a witness deliberately misleads they can be charged with perjury. Palin's 'misleading' statements to America have already revealed that she is a 'whopper monger' extraordinaire.

      • Posted By: sjpersonal @ 09/08/2008 5:09:29 PM

        No No!

McCain SAID that "she had sold the plane on Ebay, for a profit" he said it during the first time he and Palin campaigned together after the convention.

That I know for sure, the reason that I remember this so clearly is that when he was saying it he TRIED to lean his arm on his podium and I remember thinking "God he looks as though he is about to fall over"!
