i understand the whole "will it hurt Obama" or not arguments, blah blah blah - my question is How does someone have a 2% approval rating? I am not even sure Charles Manson would have an approval rating that low

How about Palin's husbands membership in the Alaska Independence Party, which wants to secede from the USA? Now, that's un-American and un-patriotic. It's the same thing the treasonous, traitors of the Confederacy proposed before being subdued during the Civil War. Palin was also a frequent speaker at AIP functions.

Obamas relationship with Kilpatrick is not at issue.[unless some collateral damage ensues].
What is of greater interest to Chicago corruption watchers is the evidence of repeated meetings between Tony Rezko and the feds who are moving beyond Operation BOARD GAMES to included a more sweeping federal investigation that will include the Illinois governor, with three more trials already scheduled. This happens, and all bets are off for the Anointed One. Especially,if,as the Sun -Times is alleging,Rezko is turning canary on his former pals that neccesarily include Obama.

Sorry but in those alledgements, Obama's name never came up. If we are all going to be judged "guilty by association", we will have no politicians, celebrities, ordinary people or anything else. Everyone (whether or not you believe it) knows someone who did something wrong

  • Posted By: gatee @ 09/05/2008 3:43:38 PM

Every one risks having friends who end up being bad people. That is Obama's position. However, McCane has a WAR mind and he was part of a WAR and WARS are worst than bad friends

Thank you for being honest enough to admit that we cannot control the mouth, destiny, mind or attitudes of those we call friends. We need more people in this wordl to be real

"says veteran Detroit political consultant Sam Riddle. 'Kilpatrick's brand of leadership has fed into the worst stereotypes that white voters have about black leaders.'" Wonder how that stereotype could ever have come about?

Here is an update on ANOTHER BarackStar buddy....wonder if Hussein looks cute in an orange jumpsuit.

UH OH....looks like HolyRoller was right again.....wonder what the BarackStar is thinking right now??

Is Rezko working with the feds?
SOURCES: | He's been back at courthouse numerous times

August 28, 2008 Chicago Sun Times

"As his sentencing nears, pressure is mounting on Tony Rezko to cooperate with federal investigations into some of the highest-profile politicians in the state -- including Gov. Blagojevich.

Two more trials -- one in Chicago next spring, one in Las Vegas -- hover over the Wilmette businessman and onetime prolific political fund-raiser for the governor and BARACK OBAMA.

Tony Rezko was inside the federal courthouse as recently as Aug. 14, sources for the Sun Times say.

Now, sources tell the Chicago Sun-Times that Rezko has been seen at the federal courthouse as many as a dozen times since his June conviction. He's been held since then at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in downtown Chicago.

Rezko hasn't had to be back in court since a jury convicted him of corruption charges involving state deals. And his scheduled Sept. 3 sentencing was recently pushed back to Oct. 28".....ONE WEEK BEFORE ELECTION....hmmm...just a coincidence???

WITNESS PROTECTION PROGRAM FOT TONY = FEDERAL CHARGES FOR HUSSEIN

I told ya'll this months ago.....Hussein Obama IS A CROOK AND A FRAUD.

FRIENDS AND ASSOCIATES, GOOD AND BAD JUDGMENT, SAME REACTION, SAME DECISIONS ALL THE TIME. FROM THE TIME HE STARTED AS COMMUNITY ORGANIZER, HE HAS A TRACK RECORD OF ASSOCIATING WITH "DECENT AND HONEST" PEOPLE WHEN HE NEEDS THEM FOR POLITICAL EXPEDIENCY AND DIS-ASSOCIATING HIMSELF AGAIN FOR POLITICAL EXPEDIENCY WHEN HIS
FRIENDS AND ASSOCIATES ARE PUT TO BAD LIGHT. AFTER TWENTY YEARS HE KNOW LONGER RECOGNIZES WHO THE REAL MENTOR AND SPIRITUAL ADVISOR HIS REV. WRIGHT IS. WHAT KIND OF FRIEND AND PRESIDENT WILL AMERICA HAVE?

  • Posted By: MARICOR @ 09/05/2008 3:45:45 PM

FRIENDS, ASSOCIATES, ..... BUT NO LONGER FRIENDS, ASSOCIATES ..... EACH AND EVERY TIME OBAMA HAS THE SAME JUDGMENT AND DOES THE SAME THINGS AND MAKES THE SAME DECISIONS EVERYTIME THEY ARE PUT INTO BAD LIGHT. IS THIS THE KIND OF PRESIDENT WITH GOOD JUDGMENT? HE CANNOT EVEN DECIDE WHAT IS GOOD AND BAD FOR HIM .... POLITICAL EXPEDIENCIES FROM THE START HE STARTED HIS CAREER AS COMMUNITY ORGANIZER AND WORKED HIS WAY THRU CUT-THROAT POLITICS UP TO THE TIME HE NO LONGER KNOWS WHO THE REAL REV. WRIGHT IS.

This is just ANOTHER of Obama's WRONG CHOICES , for people he associates with. Then when the public is informed of it...he then PUBLICLY disses those ppl. i.e. Suddenly leaves his former pastor, etc. I truly believe, that he DOES NOT have America's best interests at heart. He has proven to many times , how he changes his mind, covers up the "not so good , relationships" in his life. I really would like to know how I or anyone else can trust someone who does this to his friennds ....repeaeatedly? HOw can I trust what he says now?>

I lived in Detroit until very recently. For all of Kilpatrick's reign of foolery, as well as Obama's campaign for the presidency. Obama has no "relationship" with Kilpatrick. Giving someone a hug and a compliment(King Kwame has actually done a couple things worth complimenting, but only a couple) does not a "relationship" make. This article has insinuated something that does not exist.

      • Posted By: SPORTLOCK09 @ 09/05/2008 3:02:22 PM

I'm sure you would feel the same way if you saw a picture of McCain hugging say David Duke wouldn't you? What if he said David Duke would do great things for this country. THEN, would you say McCain has no "relationship'' with Duke? Just say "ok Im a hypocrite" will be fine for a response........

    • Posted By: notunderage @ 09/05/2008 1:31:42 PM

Enter Your Comment Why don't you ask McCain about his friendships with the Keating Five? Why don't you ask him about his friendship with his best man? Why don't you ask his minister, or does he have one? Why don't you ask him about his relationship to his children (about whom he rarely speaks, and he has seven of them). Why don't you ask McCain how many times he has changed his mind? That's about the only thing he's changed.

      • Posted By: SPORTLOCK09 @ 09/05/2008 2:58:42 PM

Why? Maybe the same reason you refuse to question Obama's ties with racist and crooks and terrorist. As soon as you can answer a question without just asking a question, I will. Why would you ask someone to do what you obviously wouldn't consider? Are you a hypocrite?

How can you trust a man who cheated on his wife repeatedly? Just because he glossed over it in a book, it still does not erase what it reveals about his character. She was steadfast and faithful to him and he did not keep his vows. That spiritual bond is more important than mere association. What about Cindy McCain and her family mess -- claiming she is an only child when she has sisters. Stealing another womans husband, plus drugs and forging prescriptions so much that the DEA had to investigate her. She should be forgiven? Or Sarah having her water break, knowing she was carrying a high risk pregnancy and then waiting over 8 hours to go to the hospital so that she could speak to some group. That event was worth more than the life/health of the child she is parading around the stage now? It does not make sense to me. Her husband has DUI's -- is that forgiven too? He could have killed someone.

  • Posted By: remimm @ 09/05/2008 1:43:53 PM

How DARE anyone say...oh they have black skin, they are the same. Let us not forget...Kilpatrick is in trouble for cheating on his wife. Its not like he lied to his country and took a nation to war against a soverign country resulting in the death and dismemberment of more than 20,000 troops at a cost to my children and not his because Haliburton and Cheney have the Bushy back.

    • Posted By: MoJabar @ 09/05/2008 1:52:45 PM

Kilpatrick lied under oath. That's the crime. Nobody was surprised that he cheated on his wife; and that is not a crime.

      • Posted By: blueeyedarab @ 09/05/2008 3:00:11 PM

may not be a crime, but it is a SIN

HERE IS THE MENTALITY THAT CAUSED KWAMI'S DOWNFALL AND INFECTS THE CITY OF DETROIT:

To quote from the Newsweek article: "It's no coincidence that on the day before Granholm's hearing, a graffiti artist scribbled this on the limestone walls of Detroit's city hall: 'The white man wants Kwame gone to take the rest of Detroit's money.'"

The "Now it's our turn to steal" mentality entered with Coleman Young and that same sickness is the heart of Detroit today. I left Detroit because it is hopeless to swim upstream against this ingrained Detroit ethic: "Now it is our turn to steal".

Kwame's fate was predestined by his heritage. It was his turn to steal.

A good current example of the lack of ethics of Detroit is seen in those of the political and social elite of Detroit who attended and/or who know the truth about the "party" that resulted in a murder and now, rather than to do the right thing, are silent. "Why should I die for the truth?"

Fear is no excuse for immoral unethical behavior. Immoral unethical behavior breeds more of the same.

Kwame was his new generation's expression of his unethical heritage.

Key people who were investing in the future of Detroit have recently reconsidered and are going elsewhere. "Who cares" you may say, "We don't need whities money." Wake up - it wasn't whitey you scared away - it was successful blacks who naturally would like to like to be a vibrant part of a city that is 81% black.

Have any of you Detroiters noticed ---- there is getting less to steal? Does that fact motivate you?

Question now is either: A) Does Detroit repair its moral foundation, or B) Whose hand is next elected to the Detroit cookie jar?

  • Posted By: cp4three @ 09/05/2008 2:55:17 PM

I meant in the United States: Granholm's disapproval rating is over 60%

  • Posted By: michaelp0429 @ 09/05/2008 2:54:21 PM

Uh, the 87% black population in Detroit is going to come out in record numbers for Obama no matter what he says or does because of his skin color. They will come out, and Obama will get 90+% of that vote. His strategy to go after the whites in the suburbs is a zero risk, all reward strategy. He knows how to play identity politics better than anyone.

  • Posted By: cp4three @ 09/05/2008 2:54:13 PM

What the author is also not telling us is that Governor Granholm might have one of the lowest approval ratings of any governor in the state. It's going to be pretty tough for him in Michigan now, especially with the addition of a Palin, a hockey mom married to a union member (how many of those people do you think live in SE Michigan? Alot).

  • Posted By: shadow322 @ 09/05/2008 2:53:33 PM

What does Sen. Obama have to do with this loser? He cheated everyone who ever supported him and now he's going to pay! Why try to tie this to the Democratic candidate for the President of the United States. Are you writing about Sarah's chief of staff refusing to testify against his boss now that she is running for the second most powerful position we have? If she is innocent I would think she would want his testimony out there RIGHT NOW! Double standards News Week!

I think that this article is in fact an absolute reality of the mindsets of many americans, as it relates to grouping african americans together, unfortunately. I fail to see how the Detroit mayor has absolutely anthing to do with Sen. Barak Obama. Sen. Obama to my understanding didn't come to Detroit because he was following the rules set by his party. Regardless of whatever the reasons are for anything stated in this article, the issues are still the most important topics. All of this other foolishness and nonsense is pointless. It's election time should we be looking at the issues at hand. If Detroit's mayor decided to make foolish and prideful decisions that is his business. I look for the day when a black man or woman can be viewed based on their own merits and not those of their entire community. I am from Detroit MI and I would still vote for Barak Obama anytime and anywhere!

End Affirmative Action, and people will start thinking that way. It's kinda hard to respect someone who got a job because of their skin color.

  • Posted By: kellym44 @ 09/05/2008 1:49:33 PM

Why is this even about race? So I, as a white woman who works in Detoit, should no longer want to vote for Obama because of Kwamegate? That is ridiculous. Quite a stretch for a "story." We should stop focusing on race or gender when it comes to politics and LISTEN to where these men and women stand on the ISSUES. This country is in the lowest of lows because of people like Keith Naughton. Way to take focus away from what matters for this country because one idiot in Detroit had an affair and lied about it. Rarely do people focus on Detroit when it comes to shelling out help for positive improvement, so why do you now focus on Detroit in the light of scandal? RIDICULOUS!!!!

    • Posted By: SPORTLOCK09 @ 09/05/2008 2:15:11 PM

No matter what you hear you will support Obama. Obama supported this loser wholeheartedly and said he will do great things for Detroit. Seems like judgement is not one of Obama's strong suits doesn't it? But then again, why would bad judgement make you reconsider your vote? If Aryes didn't make you think, Rev Wright didnt make you think, Tony Rezko didn't make you think, half born babies left to die didn't make you think, mis-votes from a Harvard grad didn't make you atleast wonder. Can't you just admit your in the bag nomatter what? Or atleast admit your not much of a thinker........

Ok, I get it. This is the web site that McCain's handlers read, which is why everything they put out seems to insult America's intelligence. This is the America that the Guardian was referring to in 2004 when they asked how so many Americans could be so dumb. This is a beehive of bigots.

    • Posted By: SPORTLOCK09 @ 09/05/2008 2:37:47 PM

      Intelligence? LMAO

      Your a riot!

So let me get this str8 here.
You believe a man sits in a racist church for 20 yrs and doesn't share their views. AND he donated over 30k a year to the church.
You believe a Harvard grad who graduated top of his class MIS-VOTED.
You believe a man who spends 300k on a yard addition is just like you.
And best of all, only considering the above mentioned, you believe your intelligent?

      comedian right?

    • Posted By: RevWright @ 09/05/2008 2:01:31 PM

HAHAHAHA Beehive of bigots. still trying to make yourself feel good by labeling anyone who doesn't like Obama and will not vote for him as a bigot eh???? The guardian???? OMG please stop my stomach hurts from laughing so much.... Oh I get it.... you're pretending right...... At least 50 percent of the americans are intelligent enough to see through the invisible empty suit that you are calling Obama.

Stick a fork in obama.... He's done. No wonder he and the Obamaites told us that all of his records from his tenure as an illinois state senator were lost or missing..... My guess would be there are alot of other GOOD FRIENDS and PARTNERS of Obama that would likely not be good for his campaign as well. Either that or there isn;t really anything for him to talk about while he was a state senator because he didn't really accomplish anything worth talking about.... oh by the way in 2004 half of the americans were dumb. The ones that voted for "I won the Vietnam war Kerry" I still rememebr that idiot comapring himslef to JFk in the debates. I can't believe after listening to this egotistical idiot that people still actually voted for him and what is even more unbelieveable is the Liberals didn't learn anything from that beating but instead introduced another empty suit idiot 4 years later..... Perhaps they might win an election if they actually would put someone in the running with a brain that could think instead of the brainless empty suit puppets. Probably the best thing you can do for Obama now is to help him write his concession speech.

By the way how's the koolaid tasting lately at the Obamaite camp. Gettin pretty bitter tasting isn't it?

Oh well drink up and head back to class before the late bell rings.

      McCain /Palin 2008

He accomplished a whole lot in the Illinois Senate!!!!! He was "present" for at least 130 votes. That takes a whole lot of work to get up in the morning and show up at the legislator building! Duh!
