For a Republican style ad, why not tie McCain to Larry Craig, Bob Nye, Jack Abramoff, Tom De Lay, Ralph Reed and the other Republican champions of moral certitude?
I'm sure footage exists of McCain giving at least one of them his famous Bush-style hug, his head buried in the chest of, say, Larry Craig. If it exists, would that make McCain gay? In this era of nothing-is-too-mundane-to-be-put-under-the-microscope-of-negativity political campaigning, there are those who are ignorant enough to believe that McCain and Craig are secret lovers on the strength of such an ad. If the mediocrity lens is put away, articles that reach so desperately to make a point would thankfully disappear and the focus would properly be on the issues, and journalists would function as they once did instead of acting as a pack of gossip columnists.

Why should Kwame Kilpatrick's problems harm Obama. They are his own, he made them, they are no one else's. Or, are you saying that because Kilpatrick and Obama are Black men that they are the same? They are not. Or are you trying to slander Obama who does not cheat on his wife, is a great father to his children, and a person with high moral character? If you want to compare Kilpatrick with someone, try B. Clinton who was/is of low moral standing.

How many scumbags does Obama have to hang out with before the liberal lemmings get a clue?

Comments: This is such b.s. Once again blaming Barack Obama for another grown person's choices. Let's focus on more current events like how McCain said he didn't love his country until he was prisoner in someone else's.

One more close contact who "isn't the person I knew" under the Obama bus.

Okay what I don't get is what in the world does this have to do with the Obama Campaign. I have never seen him by Obama's side or speak on his behalf. A hug 16 mos ago, yeah like that mean something. I bet both candidates hug hundreds of people every day. Is it because their both black men because that's the only similarity I see.

This is ludicrous. This is such a stretch. This will have no effect whatsoever on Obama. We are going to hold him to being a mind-reader? Obama was supposed to know this scumbag was a scumbag before anyone else knew he was a scumbag????

The revisionist history being played out in the Tony Rezko/Barack Obama relationship is strange to say the least. Supporters make the inference that there was little to no relationship between the two[outside of the house deal which itself is muddy],which is not what the BOARD GAMES investigation has found.
Indeed,Obama was working with Rezko to further REZMARS interests long before Obama entered a national spotlight. While the nation was riveted on the Clinton-Lewinsky affair in 1998,Obama pushed letters of introduction and contract awarding to the governor and mayors office backing Tony Rezko who used the support given him to in turn back Obama for his 2000 congressional run. While everyone at this point already knew that there was something wrong with REZMAR,[especially both of Chicagos big papers, the Tribune and Sun-Times],as it was fast becoming established as a slumlord,Obama and his confederates including Joe Aramanda,Anthony Abboud, and Allison Davis, sought more state and federal contracts to be steered Tony Rezkos way. The money piled up in Obamas warchest. Davis dropped out of his law firm to work with Rezko full time in furthering the fortunes of REZMAR with the full support of Mayor Daleys office which had just handed out a 100 million dollar affirmative action contracting package to the mob-connected Duff family while at a party held at the Chicago area Como Inn. The Duffs and Davis were linked through REZMAR and everyone associated with the REZMAR scheme saw their wallets getting fatter and fatter. Davis was now on of the chief benefactors of Obamas fortunes, offering up one of his guys to take the helm at UC Medical Center where he instantly raised Michelle Obamas pay two fold. [And in another instance of Obama gratitude to his crook benefactors,Allison Davis will be tapped by Obama to serve as the Secretary of HUD in the new administration]. A greater spotlight must be shone on these activities, for as BOARD GAMES is illuminating,it neither really begins, nor ends, with Rezko alone. And all roads lead back to The Man From Change.

More evidence that BHO does not have the ability to lead the country. Detroit's mayor adds yet another name to the "hall of infamy" BHO has formed. John McCain is the only fully vetted, experienced, morally defensible candidate for president of the United States of America. The choice is clear - a hero or a zero.

  • Posted By: damitajo1 @ 09/05/2008 11:34:07 AM

This situation sees barely relevant to Obama's campaign. Michigan is definitely a tossup, but blacks are moved to vote due to the historic nature of Obama's campaign. Also, there are other people who can help mobilize Detroit voters. One mayor does not do all the work anyway., Usually voter drives in communities of color involve churches, ministers, community organizers, political groups, and volunteers -- not mayors.

lets just hope that those community organizers didn't read saul alinsky's book like obama did !

Grrr... re: the comment by hatetoregister... this is why the media drives me crazy sometimes... if you aren't from around Detroit you probably don't know this, but the main issue of Kwame's felony charges, etc was not that it was a "sex scandal"!! Yes, Kwame cheated on his wife, and yes many other politicians have done it as well, and it's horrible no matter who does it... the issue here is that Kwame wrongly had 2 police officers fired for investigating the use of his security detail (paid for with PUBLIC funds as security since he is in a PUBLIC office) for PRIVATE matters (covering up his affair). The police officers were just doing their job investigating inappropriate use of taxpayer's money, and the mayor got them fired for it. Looks there were alot of other people involved in it too, that will probably all be coming out in the future. So then when the police officers brought the whistleblower lawsuit, Kwame and his girlfriend lied about everything under oath(misuse of public funds etc) so as to keep their affair private. It's not about the sex it's about the lying! Perjury is a very serious offense and people who do it need to be punished! You have to be assured that when people take the stand under oath they are telling the truth, otherwise our legal system is a farce! If people can get away with perjury they will do it, then innocent people could be convicted wrongly and guilty people could go free! It is a VERY serious matter and that it mainly what it was about (and the assault charges of course, and that the whistleblower settlement - the details of which were kept hidden from city council who had to approve it - cost the taxpayers millions of dollars that could have been better spend on improving the city). I can see why the media hypes it up as a "sex scandal" since sex sells... but I wish people would realize that it is more serious than that and the people of the city of Detroit aren't just sitting aroung wringing their hands like "what can we do to punish Kwame for cheating on his wife" - THAT is ridiculous! Sorry that was a long rant but I am tired of not seeing the important issues about this case portrayed.

Also, by the way, I don't know if anyone in Detroit saw Kwame's speech yesterday after resigning... but jeez, utterly ridiculous!!!

Part 1 Who got Obama started in his political career? William Ayers, of course, is the Weather Underground bomber. And Obama began his career, his coming out party in 1995, and Ayers and Bernadine Dorns home.
And then for, you know, some 20 years, Obama has been working with Ayers, certainly since 1995, on a series of foundations: the Annenberg Foundation and the Woods Foundation. The boards of directors together, or in the Annenberg Foundation, Ayers created it, and Obama was on it. And together they spent the money of these foundations to implement their radical socialist agenda.
A lot of people say, no, they just know each other. They???re not friends. Just because -- you know, just because they worked on boards together.
Obama was in 1995 going to take the seat of Alice Palmer, who is also an extreme socialist. She???s an African-American who had actually gone to Russia and had attended communist party meetings and reported on them. And it was all very much of a leftist gathering.
Ayers and Dorns were like the stamp of approval on Obama, introducing them to their click of leftist friends for funding and for advancing his candidacy. So that very beginning was a chosen intentionally association with Ayers and Dorns to launch Obama`s career, and Obama knew exactly what he was doing picking him.
Senator Obama is the one who???s saying, "This is just another guy in my neighborhood," but in fact, that???s not true at all. It may turn out to be that they had a much closer relationship through their work together on the Annenberg Challenge to create their ideas to control the government and its people that???s the challenge!
His agenda -- I believe, in 2001, in which Ayers was unrepentant, saying that he wished he bombed more. And obama???s greatest influence is
Saul Alinsky he was a radical socialist organizer. His main book was "Rules for Radicals." His methodology was you go in as a community organizer. That means, really, a rabble-rouser.
You rub raw the discontent of the community, almost in a communist sense. You find class antagonisms. You learn to speak the grievances in the people???s own logic and language, and then you go for radical redistribution of income and wealth through gaming power and mobilizing the community. Making them think that your working for them by doing small stuff that seems to help but ultimately you gain far more than the people you help it???s a trick to get them on your side because it seems you care about them and in turn they move you to the top of the political ladder!

    • Posted By: willnotvoteobama @ 09/05/2008 11:32:25 AM

      Part 2???
The -- the connection to Saul Alinsky. In
Fact, Alinsky had change as his mantra. And by it, he meant radical socialist redistribution of income from the haves to the have-nots. That was the primary purpose.
Alinsky dedicated "Rules to Radicals" to Lucifer, whom he called the first radical. And he said it was a Machiavellian approach, which means you???ll lie, do whatever you need to do to get power, because the haves were going to lose to the have-nots, who were being championed by this community organizer. (Obama)
The theme is common that Senator Obama made in San Francisco about people are bitter, clinging to God and to guns. That is actually a paraphrase of something Saul Alinsky wrote in that same book, in "Rules for Radicals."
A very condescending view that he has of the middle class as people who are lost, who -- he says that they turn bitter, because they cling to certain fixed points that are elusory, but very real to them. They ask questions that Alinsky considers meaningless, like what does our flag mean to you? Interestingly, something that was just said at the Republican convention. That???s Alinsky. You know, obama???s his influence coming through.
Just take a look at his taxation policies. He wants to increase capital gains, because he says they???re unfair.
The point is that he clings to this relationship. And he???s even defending Ayers now. His campaign is defending Ayers, despite the fact that he???s an unrepentant terrorist who set bombs and may, according to congressional testimony, may have even been involved or had knowledge of a bombing that killed somebody. That???s the important thing.
Alinsky taught to say whatever is necessary to get power. That???s the Machiavellian approach. When Obama articulates policy positions, especially moving to the center, it may be completely calculated. We will not see the real Obama until its too late then we are going to be stuck in a radical system that will take a civil war to get out of !

Senator Obama again tried today to distance himself from Mr. Ayers. MSNBC quotes Obama as saying: "I have known Mr. Ayers for many years. However, I did not know that he was an unrepentant terrorist. Years ago, when he told me that he was sorry about his terrorist activities, I assumed he was expressing remorse. Little did I know he really meant he was sorry he had not killed more Americans. "

Any time a Black person is critized or caught with thier hand in the cookie jar they fall back on race and Kilpatrick is a fine example as was the congressman in Louisiana with the money in the freezer. They know all it takes is to brand "the MAN" as a racist and most affluent whites will panick in fear and guilt. If Obama loses the outcry will be thunderous about how the man keeps me down. In one way, I admire Big O. There comes a time when blaming the Man means nothing and does nothing for Blacks. You can spend your life wallowing in racial mud being jerked around by the Rev Wrights of the world or you can decide, like Obama, to be sucessful despite the Man. "THE MAN" needs to be redefined from meaning the white man to meaning Black victimhood; thats the man that holds you down.

Send a "Thank You" card to Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, Louis Farrakhan, and Jeremiah Wright. "Leaders" such as this only excerbate that attitude....

Like, everyone of us ca control who or whom our "friends" are...give me a break. You people sound like all of your buds are lilly white an pure and none are hiding "secret lives" of their own. Face it...the Republicans were in office for 8 years....and did nothing but make more money for themselves and start a war...

We "the american" people have had it. Both democrat and republican alike want A NEW DEAL which is exactly the reason Barrack Obama will win this thing. That train is moving and it's coming fast.... all this back and forth nonsense will not change the direction this election is going. Millions of voters turning out for a primary???? Imagine NOV 4..

    • Posted By: ssbn777 @ 09/05/2008 11:27:54 AM

The NEW DEAL was 1/2 a step away from Communism. So that's your agenda? At least you're honest about it....

Don't worry Kwame. 5 years from now these same idiots that elected you will elect you again so you can stick it The Man for setting you up like this. Go be an analyst on MSNBC or CNN or maybe help Nagin rebuild his chocolate city. Then you can return triumphantly - just like Marion Berry.

Why would the Republicans spend a whole night of their convention attacking ordinary people?
With the nation watching, the Republicans mocked, dismissed, and actually laughed out loud at Americans The Democratic convention was different. The Dems gave the stage to everyday Americans who hunger for change and stepped up to make phone calls, knock on doors, and raise money in small amounts in their communities. The Dems showed the country a video with the faces and voices of those organizers, volunteers, and donors from every corner of the country.
What you didn't hear from the Republicans at their convention is a single new idea about how to make the healthcare system work, get our economy moving for the middle class, or improve education.
Just attacks -- on Barak and volunteers and working families. What the McCain attack squad doesn't understand is that ordinary people -- who devote part of their busy lives to organizing and building their communities -- have the power to change this country.

    • Posted By: ssbn777 @ 09/05/2008 11:24:57 AM

The Dems spent the whole week putting their Messiah on a pedestal. The weren't 20 seconds that went by without a mention of His name. I don't know what TV show you were watching....
