McCain cheated on and left his first wife. Why are we not reading about that? Everytime Obama's nice to someone or is friendly to someone, their sins are his sins? Stop the hypocrisy!

I can see how much hatred and contempt some people here feel for Obama . They are ready to attack him anytime they see an opportunity.and their comments prove just that. What the mayor dis was misfortunate and he is going to pay for it, but we can not take his behavior as a standard for every black polotician. Black people are as patriotic and honorable as any white man can be. We can not blame every mistake a black figure or a democrate who happens to know Obama on Barak Obama.. Obama is a great man with so much integrity and his good judgement far exceeeds tour expectations.Republicans are full for envy and jealousy for this guy. Some of them wish Obama was a republican. So stop these nonsense attacks on this honorable man .He is going to win no matter what.
Used to be Republican. Now Independent @ SO proud to support Obama

There's a book coming out soon about Barack Hussein Obama's rise in the Democratic party and all the terrorist ,racist and criminal friends he has...its called " Sex , Lies and Videotape "..lol.

  • Posted By: Mwalimu @ 09/06/2008 10:34:46 AM

I first of all find willnotvoteobama's remarks somewhat garbled and confusing. Ever hear of spell and grammar check??

Let;'s look at the record. The DNC made it clear that Mayor Kilpatrick was neither wanted nor welcome at the Democratic National Convention. Obama has done nothing to hamper the investigation against Kilpatrick nor did he try to get Kilpatrick off the hook.

For the last 8 years we have seen an orgy of lies, cover ups, fraud, and criminaly activity. According to a recent book, Bush has committed 34 impeachable offenses, If McCain was truly a maverick, if McCain truly loved his country, he would have demanded an immediate investigation of all of Karl Rove's activities, he would have demanded an immediate investigation of the people responsible for the outing of CIA agent Valerie Plane, he would have demanded an investigation of conflicts-of-interestes between Dick Cheney and Justice Antion Scalia, and he would have put the entire Bush administration up before a War Crimes Tribunal. This did not happen. So much for much for loving your country more than your political party.

At the time of writing, McCain's alies are trying to stifle an investigation of Sarah Palin's Troopergate affair. From what Sarah Palin would have us belive, her ex-brother-in-law is a pretty pathetic excuse for a human being. (And I should know, since I also have an ex-brother-in-law.) This causes me to wonder. If Sarah Palin has nothing to hide, then why is McCain trying to stifle the Troopergate investigation? (We do know of course that the commissioner that Palin appointed as a rep[lacement had to resign two weeks later because of charges of sexual harassment.)
McCain's behavior only assures us that we are going to get more lies, deceptions, and criminal activity. For all his rhetoric about the straight talk express, McCain is giving us anything BUT straight talk. The only change we can expect from McCain is 4 more years of the same old nightmare - only worse.
If voters in Michigan that they swallow McCain and Palin's dog and pony show, then they are as stupid as my ex-brother-in-law.

If one black man is bad all of 'em are bad. If one white man is bad....he made a bad decision that does not reflect on those around him...in fact the people bolster his friends and say 'they'll help him get back on track'. Discrediting black men is one of America's favorite past times...besides baseball. White men (limbonehead, hannity and the likes) can find anything on Obama himself to discredit him so they have to try to make a important connection between him and someone illicit. Get ready........they'll run Kwame and Obama like a screen saver on the news cycle over the next two months.

If Obama loses watch these white boys try to give him a job....thats the idea - discredit him and then turn around give him something to do and take credit for his success. they're good at that...for now

if your freinds with obama then you had better be careful ! if not you will be thrown under the bus like rev. wright, his typical white grandmother, kawme kilpatrick, father phleger and resko just to name a few! so like rudy said at the republican convention.... obama flip flops so much that sen.joe biden better get that v.p. offer in writting ! because i think that obama is now sorry he didn't pick hilary for v.p. now that gov. palin is mccain's choice !

  • Posted By: acute @ 09/06/2008 10:03:12 AM

This article starts with one basic premise: Obama and Kilpatrick are "friends". However, if you read the article there is no discussion of their relationship beyond one meeting where Obama gives him a "hug" and a few compliments. That could be taken as simple political courtesy. The writer should have given more specifics about their relationship and what makes the relationship between these two people so "friendly" that it should relfect on the judgment of the other person in the relationship.

What does this have to do with Obama. I suppose he is to follow every one he has any contact with home, to work, and every where else to make sure they are doing what is right. Give me a break, this is a non issue for Obama, and any one who makes it one is lower than low. Obama has continued to take the high road when opportunities for him to be low have surfaced. No substance. Stick to the issues-the economy, universal health care, and never ending war in Iraq. Those are the issues that matter to me, and I am not a Democrat.

I am from the City of Detroit, and let me be the first to say Kwame Kilpatrick has embarrsed our city enough!! Futhermore one Black has nothing to do with another!! Just because Kwame messed up, doesn't that Obama will!!!! Also the Kilpatrick family got alot flack during the primaries because they were supporters of Clinton!! Obama is his own man! And furthermore if we are talking about someone character lets talk about John Mccain who cheated on his first wife with Cindy Mccain!!! And for Palin who won't talk to the press so as a voter I can't hear her views please don't get me started on that

    • Posted By: willnotvoteobama @ 09/06/2008 9:51:26 AM

are you saying that obama can have the job ? he will be free to run your city in november because mccain will be running the country !!

  • Posted By: Cher Z @ 09/06/2008 9:29:35 AM

Ugh, McCain attack ads. No Substance.

I live in Detroit. I work in Detroit. Kwame was horrible for this city and he is gone.

    Good.

Now what does that have to do with Obama? Nothing! While in the meantime McCain walks hand in hand with Bush, a many who has destroyed many lives in the last 8 years.

This is just a pathetic attempt to divert the attention from issues. Even my Republican friends think it???s a low blow.

    Where???s the beef John?

Why does the media and the public always hold Obama responsible for the downfalls and shortcomings of other African-Americans? He has been "vetted" thoroughly by the media and the public (especially Whites) throughout this entire campaign thus far. He is NOT his brother's keeper and he has NO control or influence over the actions of another elected official or private citizen. I hate to bring race into this scenario; however, let's be up front, the public and the media have tried to shred this man's character by crucifying every aspect of his being to bits and pieces. For now, this country is a white man's world and Blacks are usually not wanted nor accepted on your playing field. If he were a white man, some character scrutiny would certainly be in order, however, that scrutiny would eventually die.. it's like "different strokes [for Blacks] for different folks [Whites]"..The media and the public have NOT given this man a fair break, --- you know how "entitled white people think they are" --- they deeply believe (especially by their actions) that they are exempt from any consequences of their actions, especially when it comes to any associations with other public figures whose character is not so stellar. It has always baffled me how whites [women] want to [for example] have suntans in the summer so that they have the beautiful summer complexion as Blacks; yet, have the audacity to go out of their way so that they don't have to come in physical contact with a Black. I've experienced the snubs from white women who, while attempting to acquire my [year round] hue react as if I don't exist, i.e., being in close proximity such as an elevator. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!! NONE of us have ANY control over the actions, thoughts or deeds of others.

    • Posted By: jpbless @ 09/06/2008 8:22:25 AM

It is called American [in]justice. Blacks receive collect judgment and punishment while whites are judged individually. There are rogue republicans from Abramoff to Libby and you don't hear "how they hurt McCain." How in the world is Obama responsible for a man who had a secret lover and lied about it under oat?

    • Posted By: valark @ 09/06/2008 1:00:36 AM

Its not just a fallacy that is done to Obama because he is half non-caucasian. It is done to everyone by people who can't find a way to feel strong without declaring a weakness in others. As a person becomes more known to the public, the more is attributed to him/her.

      • Posted By: Hootscoot @ 09/06/2008 8:03:50 AM

        OUCH!...and...hear, hear.

  • Posted By: pugs @ 09/06/2008 7:55:55 AM

Kilpatrick, Ayers, Wright, Rezco...Come on anyone else see a trend. I guess he does have experience with Rogue people and maybe that is what he thinks makes him qualified for speaking without preconditions to evil leaders of the World.
PS I was a Hillary supporter so when the people are talking vetting Hey Obama I guess doesn't even believe in vetting an experienced woman. I think it was flat out wrong not to even vet Hillary. And if it was his advisors (Michelle) that told him not to vet her Hey at least McCain stood up to his own party in front of 38 million people and told them we have to get back on track.

RE Palin as a mother who put her childre out to the dogs. You are the dogs. The attacks against her a a vice presidential candidate are no presicedent. The sheer range and volume of the unfounded accusations circulating in the blogosphere show an invisible hand. The Democrat Party. I am no conspiracy theorist! But the Obama campaign has been playing the net like a violin and the Palin attacks show a coordinated effort. an Obama sink so low? Sure he can. Look at the company he keeps.

Barrack has a big problem picking friends he seems like many women to prefer the bad boy types!

  • Posted By: sly1171 @ 09/06/2008 6:07:36 AM

You want to talk babysitter metaphors? Fine.
Would you entrust your child to the nanny from the service with the worst reputation in town for mishandling responsibilities or go with the fresh-faced kid who comes highly recommended by your neighbor's and friends?
Frankly, my babysitter's friends backgrounds and proclivities are irrelevant to me. What I care about is the baby-sitter's character and record. I happen to be friends with an alcoholic but I don't drink. Does that make me a bad person? Get a grip!
