Hey you gringos, honkeys, gueros, rednecks, crackers, moonshine drinking, melanin challenged, left hemisphere dominant, autosomal recessive disorders prone whiteys......If you don't vote for Obama you are racists You better vote for him. Or else.

    • Posted By: raddave @ 09/05/2008 3:21:55 PM

People who do not vote for Obama are not racists, but people like you that spread crap like that are racist.

      • Posted By: Mom for AMERICA @ 09/05/2008 3:30:26 PM

Amen to that raddave ! Calling names is soooo mature and making unproven "accusations" of racism are nothing more than laughable. I bet Josemarti, you are very closed minded and immature, and one big racist yourself. Also , possibly, you could be considered a terrorist with your "or else" comment. Sadly, I have no respect for your childish commentary.

"Hussein" has never said anyone that doesn't vote for him is racist. To claim that he has is idiotic.

Oh yeah. The mayor of Detriot is a dumbass and a liar and that links him to and affects Obama someway because he's black?!?!!? What a stupid article. Newsflash. All white criminals somehow must be directly linked to john McCain so that will probably hurt him. Where the hell do these guys get the premise for these articles? Probably getting some side pay from the swift boaters again.

Palin has more experience than Obama? When she can't even sell abstinence to her own kid she thinks she's going to sell it to America?

No wonder other countries think we're dumb, and 3rd world countries have a better education system than we do.

    • Posted By: SPORTLOCK09 @ 09/05/2008 3:36:02 PM

Oh I see, Your saying that every mom who has a child who's pregnant at 17 or younger, is a bad mother, right? Come on tell the Nation that it's all their fault their kid got pregnant and they are bad parents.

BTW Obama's mom was ALSO pregnant at 17 w/ Obama.

      • Posted By: raddave @ 09/05/2008 5:37:29 PM

She did not say anything about pregnant teens all being bad mothers, she said that it is funny that Palin wants an abstinance only education for our children, but she cannot keep her daughter from getting pregnant. Maybe if she had spent more time teaching her child more about sex and the consequences of either not abstaining or not using contraception then she might not have gotten pregnant.

    • Posted By: archmsu @ 09/05/2008 3:35:18 PM

This article has nothing to do with Palin...............

  • Posted By: newsweekthisweek @ 09/05/2008 5:37:16 PM

I have every confidence that with Obama's immaculate organizational skills he will get more than his share of votes to come up on top in Michigan. Michigan needs the government's help on a variety of issues and Obama is the one to do it. Let's get real: Obama cannot be held responsibile for every person's actions that he meets when he gets out of his house and it is not incumbent upon him to do that.

  • Posted By: baybluv @ 09/05/2008 5:32:05 PM

If Obama is guilty by association than Palin is definitely guilty being that her husband (the man she was sleeping, having babies with, etc.) was part of a group who wanted Alaska to suceed from the USA. Give us a break.

  • Posted By: newsweekthisweek @ 09/05/2008 5:28:40 PM

I have every confidence that with Obama's immaculate organizational skills, he will be getting more votes than he needs to come up on top in Michigan, based on the fact that the region is in dire need of government action and he is the one to do it. Obama cannot be charged for every person's actions every time he steps outside of his home. Each person is responsible for his own actions and he's not going to claim responsibility for every person he comes into contact.. Let's get real, here.

  • Posted By: whatnow @ 09/05/2008 11:54:58 AM

Let's focus on more current events like how McCain said last night that he didn't love his country until he was a prisoner in someone else's. How unpatriotic is that!

    • Posted By: pinkpanther87413 @ 09/05/2008 12:28:27 PM

ONLY MICHELL can be killed for that but your right! good thing McCains daddy was an admiril or McCain would NOT have been relesed and would have been tourtured more like the rest of us, but when your daddy is special so were you!NVC!!!!

      • Posted By: smve1122 @ 09/05/2008 5:25:22 PM

If you were paying attention you would have heard that even though McCain WAS offered early release, he denied it and remained a POW for many more years. He was in fact TRULY beaten and tortured. Honestly, I don't think it matters who you are voting for, or what you feel about war, you should always support the men and women that sacrifice their time, families and lives in order to fight for our country. It's pretty arrogant and extremely disrespectful to military men and women and especially POWs to insist that somehow your everyday life is worse than being tortured in a foreign enemy's prison.

Wow, how in the world did Kilpatrick???s sex scandal ever get tied to Obama is a mystery. I believe the Neocons are really worried. I happen to be an independent and to see the vitriol spewed by the religious wing-nut right makes me scratch my head. This is especially curious in light of record unemployment, increased job loss, record foreclosures and record oil company profits.

You, republicans have done a bang up job. I do mean bang, ???shock and awe??? was the only bang you dopes got right. I feel that Obama can???t do any worse than the dope who is in the White House today, unless we put the other dope ???McDope??? in the White House in November. If that happens, lets all get our money together to start donating to the red cross, salvation army and all of the other organizations that started the soup kitchens. I have a feeling we will be back in the land of the Great Depression.

Great Depression, hmmmm, wasn???t a Republican president on the watch during that time too?? Yes, good ole Herbert Hoover. Well, I got my tin can ready if McDope gets in office and his pitbull in lipstick takes over if he kicks the bucket. Irony upon irony is that a Democrat, Franklin D. Roosevelt led the country out of the Great Depression.

Maybe McDope should get elected. Before you guys (Obamamites) go crazy, if we let these idiots run the country into the ground, I mean, all the way into the ground like they plan on doing, the Republican Party will be finished, I mean it will be an insult to call someone a Republican. Yeah. Go Mcdope/Pitbull 08- because you can do worse than the joker who is in there now.

    • Posted By: archmsu @ 09/05/2008 4:48:56 PM

I wonder if you could any better? Probably not, you sit around and complain like Obama.

      • Posted By: Independent Voter:impress me @ 09/05/2008 5:23:21 PM

As a veteran of the Gulf War, six years United States Navy, 38 y/o other of two, married. Have over 23 years of solid work experience, never received a dime of unemployment, welfare, or any other aid. I can speak with a very candid ear. The Republicans are good at winning elections and suck at running a country. I respect the President, not on his skill or accomplishments, but for his office and what it represents to our country. Mind you, I can wave the flag harder than anyone on this board. I have over 10 family members who have served in each war and conflict dating back 66 years.

Obama may not have all of the answers, but it seems as if he has a clue. Go and tell the Kansas farmer that he is better off today than he was 8 years ago. Go and tell the people who were laid off from GM that life is good. You, sir or madam are an idiot.

Slick Willy couldn't keep it in his pants, but at least he knew what the hell he was doing. I reiterate, let's elect McDope/Pitbull Palin and let them really run this country into the ground. Then Obama/Clinton 2012 will sweep the election with record turnout, it won't be that hard, most of us will be waiting in the soup lines so the Salvation Army can just turn it into a polling station.

Good post Shae930. How far do you take this guilt by association? My laptop would burn out searching the list of lobbyist, fundraisers, business associates, etc. of John McCain run afowl of the law. This article has a political and racist tone. I am still waiting for the article on John Mccain.
Shame on the author and Newsweek.

  • Posted By: Making Sense @ 09/05/2008 5:09:26 PM

NO, IT WILL NOT HURT OBAMA'S CAMPAIGN. If these 2 CANDIDATES were the closest of friends, childhood friends, family, perhaps it will BUT these 2 are not! The Detroit Mayor was sentenced for his own doings, he deserves it and that is his problem. You commit a crime, you pay for it! Period.

So, as Obama said, lay off on personal issues, and get to issues, stay there. The RNC speakers were all in the defensive mode including Mr. Lie-bermann and Pallin from the Fallin'Grace of the bridge from nowhere! What a shame and who listens to this man anyway who has more 3 faces... democrat, independent and republican!

I am very excited of this election because for the first time, we have a COPY CAT REPUBLICAN asking people to vote for him to deliver CHANGE! His speech was a true acceptance that his party under the Bushes administration need change badly! No wonder why, Bush and Cheney have to be away from this convention so that McCAIN can affirm that there is a NEED OF CHANGE to happen in Washington.

STICK TO YOUR SLOGAN ... AND WHAT'S YOUR SLOGAN AGAIN? AH, MCCAIN/PALIN, COPY CATS OF CHANGE. MAVERICK SEEMS OLD... SO IT HAS TO BE CHANGED RIGHT? SO, EVERYTIME YOU OPEN YOUR MOUTH AND YELL THE WORD CHANGE, YOU ARE SUBLIMELY TELLING PEOPLE TO VOTE FOR THE BARACK OBAMA. AS MANY TIMES AS YOU SPIT OUT CHANGE IN YOUR SPEECHES, WE HEAR, LET'S VOTE FOR THE OBAMA/BIDEN, THE TRUE AND ORIGINAL MESSENGER OF CHANGE!

SOMETIMES CHANGE IS INEVITABLE, AND IN THIS CASE, WE REALLY NEED A CHANGE! AND OBAMA GETS IT!

    ALOHA

Why is Obama not bringing up the Keating-Five debacle on McCain. McCain and the five other senators where reprimanded by the senate for their corrupt and illegal roles. This is is a direct McCain criminal act, not that of a friend.

The Keating Five scandal was prompted by the activities of savings and loan: Lincoln Savings and Loan Association of Irvine, California. Lincoln's chairman was Charles Keating, served five years in prison for his corrupt mismanagement of Lincoln.

McCain and Keating had become personal friends following their initial contacts in 1981. Between 1982 and 1987, McCain had received $112,000 in political contributions from Keating and his associates. In addition, McCain's wife Cindy McCain and her father Jim Hensley had invested $359,100 in a Keating shopping center in April 1986, a year before McCain met with the regulators. McCain, his family, and their baby-sitter had made nine trips at Keating's expense, sometimes aboard Keating's jet. Three of the trips were made during vacations to Keating's opulent Bahamas retreat at Cat Cay. McCain did not pay Keating (in the amount of $13,433) for some of the trips until years after they were taken, when he learned that Keating was in trouble over Lincoln.

Why is the media quiet about this and why has New York Times not continued the revelation about McCain's mistress, who was paid-off at the Union Station, DC to shutUp? We are about to elect a maverick crook, president.

Evryone risks having good friends being bad people. That is Obama's position but McCane was part of a WAR and WARS are worst than bad friends

    • Posted By: archmsu @ 09/05/2008 3:47:07 PM

Kinda like World War 2, right? We should have just left Europe alone and let Hitler kill and conquer everybody who he didn't like or who wasn't part of his "Master Race." I bet your the kind of person who would apologize to the guy stabbing you death for getting your blood on his shirt. Go crawl back under you rock..............

      • Posted By: gatee @ 09/05/2008 4:25:19 PM

Rocks are good against bullies like you and where you come from. So, keep on killing everyone like so many USELESS WARS: Iroshima, Japan, Cuba, Viet-Nam etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc.

        • Posted By: archmsu @ 09/05/2008 4:44:17 PM

You mean we should have done nothing after Japan attacked Pearl Harbor? It's obvious you don't know your history. It's fine to be anti-war, that's a good thing. War is horrible!! But you seem to forget that Human Beings are just animals, aggressive animals, and some times you have to make a stand. As for "Iroshima" i think you mean Hiroshima, were we dropped the first atomic bomb in August 1945. By doing so we saved probably one million American casualties. If you knew your history you would know that the Japanese Army would not surrounder and it vowed to fight to the last man including women and children (children were to be used as suicide bombers against american tanks) even after they knew they had lost the war.

cobalt6, this is especially for you. Jeremiah Wright was not always a preacher of hate, at one time he was a preacher of love and alls things positive. Just like it is unfair to judge the races for the faults and prejudices of their ancestors, it is unfair to judge Obama for Wright. If that is all you have to hold againsr Obama, then you have no liking for him from the start. This may come as a BIGGG surprise to most, but almost every political or celebrity figure that comes to Chicago, has seen, spoke, praised or sat with Rev. Wright. He is that popular a person. Even Bill and Hillary considered him a close friend at one time. Now newspapers will never print it and most will never admit it, but his list of associates, (all races & religions) stretches far & wide. When Obama chose Wright as a mentor, Wright was a different person, but just like seasons, people change. It appears that you live in a very small world, where everything and everyone remain the same. I guess we are lucky that you are only running your mouth and not for office.

    • Posted By: cobalt6 @ 09/05/2008 4:40:42 PM

Halokita: You say Rev. Wright was not always a preacher of hate, you may be right about that but my question is when he did become a preacher of hate as you put it, why did Obama choose to stay with Trinity church and Rev. Wright? Oprah attended that church and decided to leave that church because it could hurt her career! Even Oprah new better! You talk about political or celebrity people and Bill and Hillary who have spoken to Rev.Wright and praise him, maybe they have never heard him preach his hatred at Trinity church! Rev. Wright may have been popular before people found out about what he preached ! You also said if thats all you have to hold against Obama! There is alot more to hold against Obama! Rev. Wright, Rezsko, Ayers, Farrakhan, his inexperience, the fact that he has done nothing since being elected as Senator of Illinois. Ithink you are the one who lives in a small world because you can't see Obama for who he really is! McCain is the better candidate!!

Palin's husband was a member of the Alaska Independence Party, which advocated seceding from the USA- just like the treasonous traitors of the Confederacy who got their butts kicked in the Civil War. She used to speak at AIP gatherings. Talk about un-American, un-patriotic.

  • Posted By: Shae930 @ 09/05/2008 4:25:27 PM

Are you serious? Does the following hurt McCain?

    August 6, 2008

    Missouri Republican State
    Representative, Scott
    Muschany, was indicted for
sexual assault of a 14 year old
    girl. Muschany has posted a
    $5,000 bond and if currently
free. He faces a fine of up to
$5,000 and a prison term of up
    to 7 years.

    July 10, 2008

    Alaskan Republican State
    Senator John Cowdery was
    indicted on conspiracy and
    bribery charges stemming from
    FBI wiretaps. Cowdery is
    accused of trying to bribe
    Democrat Donny Olson who
    was running for Lt. Governor
    and is currently cooperating
    with the investigation.

Connecticut Republican Party Chairman Chris Healy was
arrested for drunk driving. This was Healy???s second DUI
arrest. His first arrest was in Connecticut in March 2002,
when he received a suspended sentence and an 18-month
    probation term.

The chairman of the Republican Party in Brown County, Donald Fleischman, faces
criminal charges for allegedly fondling a 16-year-old Ethan House runaway and
providing the boy with beer and marijuana late last year. He was charged with two
counts of child enticement, two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a child and a
single charge of exposing himself to a child.

If convicted, Fleischman faces 52 years in prison.

Guilt be association? How about Palin's husband, who belonged to the Alaska Independence Party? Palin was a frequent speaker, too. AIP advocates Alaska seceding from the USA. Talk about un-American and un-patriotic. That's the same thing advocated by the treasonous traitors connected with the Confederacy.

yeah yeah I got it it is important - does Obama have crazy friends or whatever. The important thing is - How does someone have a 2% approval rating - Charles Manson probably has a higher rating
