Hey Everyone - we could argue all day long about the tabloid stories and who's being picked on in the media and who's not - but utimately - this election is going to come down to the economy and asking yourselves if you are better off now than you were 8 years ago. And now that Sarah Palin has made it clear she intends to behave like a pit-bull with rabies combined with a mad-as-hell bucking bull (with listick), she's basically promising to play her part in 4 more years of partisan gridlock and fully supports Bush's policies 100% as does McCain. It's a real siimple choice and James Carville (who I don't always agree with) definately summed it up nicely:

"By every economic measure known to man, Democratic Presidents have out-performed Republican Presidents. And by the way if you believe the economy was better under George W Bush than Bill Clinton you???ve got a real clear choice here.

"If you think what America needs is a tax cut for people making over half-a-million dollars a year then vote for McCain. If you think middle-class people are struggling ??? that their incomes are going down and they need help ??? vote for Obama. It???s a very simple choice".

Making fun of Sarah Palin and John McCain will not quell the groundswell of support they have recieved, not only from conservatives, but also from mainstream hockey moms, soccer moms, etc. The newfound upward direction of the polls shows that they are a breath of fresh air to most Americans. It is Obama and Biden who are the real 'mad libs' --- mad liberals --- anti-defense, anti-family, anti-budget, and pro-abortion!

This is not about sara Palin this is about John Mccain and his irresponsible and irrational choice for his VP running mate.

This is John McCains ball game and he is the one making the decisions. The Republicans have you all looking the other way by making you think this is about Palin and John McCain having his strings pulled with his campaign manager saying things like "This election is not about issues" or one of his surragates saying' "John Mccain does not speak for this campaign" or turning "Community Organizer" into a dirty word when we all know that is a great way to reach and help peple who are in greater need than ourselves. No sir This election on the Republican side is being run by the one and only John Mccain and nobody else. If you think otherwise you are a fool in your own skin.

The republican party is playing Bushy with all of you all over again by making you think that he is a puppet and his strings are being pulled by Rove and company and the Republican party.

Bush, Cheney and Mccain are dumb like foxes and we are all just fish on a hook and we are swallowing it hook, line and sinker and being reeled in all over again.They did it to everybody in 2000 and 2004 and they are right back at it again in 2008. As it stands right now they are winning and if we all keep talking about the wrong things till the General Election and lose focus of what is ailing our beloved country America will lose again.

I hope you can live with that because i can't bear the thought and i can't afford another 4 or more years of the same and as it loks right now you are all helping to get us to that juncture.

Hopefully "Softball" Gibson will ask Sarah Palin the tough questions that the American voters need to know and understand about her qualifications to be VP - which being a gritty mother of 5 is not one of them - respectful and demainding in it's own right - but certainly not a qualification to be VP of the United States!! Let's hope you write about this first I'm sure of many under experienced and unqualifed Sarah Palin will make. See below...
McCain's judgement should be seriously questioned! He made a terrible mistake in picking Plain. Obvious fact: in the wake of the government taking over Fannie Mae and Freedie Mac - here's what Sarah Palin had to say below. Sarah Palin is seriously under-qualified for a job that McCain (should he win - which I don't see it happening) that she has ABSOULTELY NO KNOWLEDGE of national or foreign policy and lacks the understanding for a wide array of issues right now!! Palin is not ready to be VP for anybody!!
Gov. Sarah Palin made her first potentially major gaffe during her time on the national scene while discussing the developments of the perilous housing market this past weekend.

Speaking before voters in Colorado Springs, the Republican vice presidential nominee claimed that lending giants Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac had "gotten too big and too expensive to the taxpayers." The companies, as McClatchy reported, "aren't taxpayer funded but operate as private companies. The takeover may result in a taxpayer bailout during reorganization."

Economists and analysts pounced on the misstatement, saying it demonstrated a lack of understanding about one of the key economic issues likely to face the next administration.

"You would like to think that someone who is going to be vice president and conceivable president would know what Fannie and Freddie do," said Dean Baker, co-director of the Center for Economic and Policy Research. "These are huge institutions and they are absolutely central to our country's mortgage debt. To not have a clue what they do doesn't speak well for her, I'd say."
Even conservative analysts acknowledged that the statement simply did not hold true.

"Katrina, four dollar gas, a trillion dollar war, rising unemployment, deregulated housing market, global warming......."

This race should be about whether the Republican Party is going to be dismantled or not after the borderline treason of the past eight years. But instead it is about making the word "community organizer" a dirty word and a beauty queen who shoots foxes from a plane. Someone is not in any way doing their job and it's the press. Or more specifically, that job no longer exists.

Probably the worst offenders are the pundits who take the position that it's all just a game and say phrases like "getting a post-convention bump" or "playing to the soccer Moms." This isn't a game of Monopoly or Survivor. There are real truths that exist outside of the spin they are given and have an effect on lives. 250,000 Iraqi civilians are dead because we let our reality be distorted by the most effective propaganda machine in fifty years, the corporate American press. Money and jobs are flying out of this country as our currency becomes worthless and we're talking about the fact that McCain is a veteran. If someone busted into your house and robbed you would you then forgive them if you found out they were a veteran? Of course not. So why are we forgiving McCain for selling out his country by supporting the Bush agenda?

ONE QUESTION: What can you expect from bush-twin-mcCain and from Palin AFTER SHE FOUGHT SO HARD TO HAVE ALASKA SEPARATED FROM THE USA? Now she is a USA-patriotic person?

* Yes, she did push for and approve the Wasilla Sports Center. Yes, it did cost a lot of money. (People keep saying $20 million, that article says $14.5 million, but then they also added a $1.2 million dollar food service/kitchen piece. This year, after Palin was out of office as Mayor.) Yes, the city went into debt to do it (how did you buy your house, bunkie?) and raised the city sales tax from 2 percent to 2.5 percent to pay for it. Yes, the city is paying it off early. Yes, there is an ongoing dispute about title (following a struggle with the Nature Conservancy and another buyer. And yes, at the time it was built, Wasilla had a Federal judge???s decision that they had title to the land.

* Yes, she did want authority to have wolves culled from the air, because they were taking too many moose and caribou. Which people hunt for food in the back country in Alaska. No, she is not shooting them herself. I mean, not that she couldnt, but I am sure she does not have time. (Thanks to bluemerlin in the comments.)

* No, the Downs baby (Trig) is not Bristols kid, and no, the kid was not born with Downs because (a) Palin flew on an airplane (b) went home to have the baby after an amniotic leak (c) because he was the result of incest between Todd Palin and Bristol.

* No, Track (the kid who is leaving for Iraq) did not join the NG because he was a drug addict. He may have joined the NG because he was tired of people saying his Mom was getting him into the good hockey leagues. (Yes, that one was original reporting. I have got sources in Wasilla.)

* No, Willow and Piper are not named for witches on TV. Among other things, Willow was born before Buffy came on TV, and Piper was born before Charmed.

Obama unsmaked himself yesterday on ABC when he spoke about his "Muslim faith." I had been willing to give him the benefit of the doubt, but NO MORE.. Quoth the raven: NEVER MORE.

The McCain-Palin ticket offers a perplexing image. John McCain really just wants to retire as having been president and shows signs that he is close to being there, even finishing a first term could be a challenge. That presents the prospect of Sarah Palin as president and that is really scary and not just because of her significant lack of applicable experience. As she describes herself, she is ???a pit bull with lipstick???, an aggressive, feisty and arrogant personality that demonstrates little knack or taste for diplomacy. She is extreme in everything. She bans books from the library, bans sex education in the high school, has the reputation for demanding everything be her way and then even the Republican powers are afraid to have her be a known quantity as they keep her from the media. She is being constantly coached by Senator Lieberman, by Bush???s speech writers and by image people hoping to make her presentable and only appears at controlled appearances where she can???t be questioned. They may be satisfied that she would be a good puppet for them but what about for us? For eight years we heard Bush???s speeches, often impressive, and yet we only have to look around to see what that has really cost us; now they are writing her speeches and expect us to be moved by them. Do we really want what that brings, being more of the same or even worse? It would seem that to vote for McCain-Palin one would have to be a certifiable masochistic lunatic. A little strong on the criticism? Really, I wonder.

THESE ARE NOT RELIGIOUS PEOPLE - THEY ARE THEIR GODS THEMSELVES. GOD WILL DEAL WITH MCCAIN AND PALIN IN DUE TIME.

Those the Mayor gave the ax did not pick up their severed heads and go into the darkness quietly. The city was sued. Kilpatrick LIED on the witness stand about the affair and later USED $8.4 MILLION OF CITY FUNDS to pay for the abuse but managed to keep the details off the public record.

The Detroit Free Press obtained the text messages of Kilpatrick and his boudoir home girl teasing each other, planning their couplings and discussing the unfortunate but necessary decision to rid the city of those employees involved in investigating them.

Reporter Guy is either totally clueless or is purposely trying to deceive people. Obama was responding to Stephanopolous' queries about Republican operatives trying to plant stories that he is actually a Muslim and not Christian. It was George who was confused by what Obama was saying and Obama corrected him. Reporter Guy-why are Republicans like you so intent on dividing the American people? It seems like you get some kind of sick delight from it.
