"McCAIN / PALIN / GOP" HYPOCRISY #5: THE "TAX CUT" LIES
McCain accused Obama of trying to raise taxes. But Obama has continually advocated tax cuts for the middle-class with annual salaries of less than $250,000.00, which is about 98% of the population. However, McCain doesn't tell the public his health insurance plan is going to effectively raise taxes for all Americans that have health insurance, while making permanent tax cuts for the riches upper 2% of Americans.

"McCAIN / PALIN / GOP" HYPOCRISY #6: THE "BRIDGE TO NOWHERE" LIES
Sarah Palin claimed on several occasions that she turned down $350-million of federal government earmarks for the "bridge to nowhere". But what actually happened is Sarah campaigned to get the money for the "bridge to nowhere", then flip-flopped after McCain voted the bridge down when she won the Governor's office. Ironically, Alaska still got the 'bridge to nowhere' funds but it was used instead to build a "highway to nowhere".

"McCAIN / PALIN / GOP" HYPOCRISY #7: THE "PLANE SALE ON EBAY" LIES
Sarah Palin insinuated she sold state plane on EBay for a profit, and more recently McCain repeated it as a fact that the plane was actually sold on EBay for a profit. That lie has now been debunked, and the good Christian Sarah Palin has no shame that she was caught in another lie. The plane could not sell on EBay so it was taken down and sold "privately for a lost".

"McCAIN / PALIN / GOP" HYPOCRISY #8: THE "ABSTINENCE-ONLY" LIES
Sarah Palin as an Ultra Extreme Religious-Right advocate uses her State office bully-pulpit to knock down public school sex-education, while plugging her "abstinence-only" religious views to public schools. Ironically, her 17-year old daughter Bristol fails to practice the "abstinence before marriage" views her mother is trying to push in Alaska schools. Then Sarah tries to hide it with another lie by telling the school where Bristol attends that her daughter must drop out because she has Mono. Sarah continued to hold fast to the Mono lie until rumors break loose just after her VP announcement. It was only then the "abstinence-only" hypocrite came clean.

"McCAIN / PALIN / GOP" HYPOCRISY #9: THE "TROOPER-GATE" LIES
Sarah Palin claimed she never called the State Trooper Magistrate to have her ex-brother-in-law fired. Soon after investigators got on the seen, emails were retrieved to dispute that fact, and now all seven of Sarah's state appointees have refused to testify. It has been learned that more than 20+ plus calls were made to the State Trooper Magistrate regarding the firing of Sarah's brother-in-law, and because the seven witnesses have 'lawyered-up', the investigators must use subpoenas to get the seven that initially volunteered to testify to give an account of what happened.

"McCAIN / PALIN / GOP" HYPOCRISY #10: THE "POLITICS BEFORE COUNTRY" LIES
McCain and Rove accused Obama of picking Virginia Governor Tim Kane as VP for political expediency, and also because Tim Kane would bring a southern state into the Democratic "Win Column". Instead Obama went for Senator Joe Biden to sure up the leadership ticket for the White House. McCain assuming it would be an Obama-Kane ticket, wrongly accused Obama of putting politics ahead of country. Well McCain and Rove got busted. The whole world (except blinded Religious-Right) witnessed McCain picking the least qualified Republican to be his VP in hopes of: (1.) stealing Hillary's voters from Obama; (2.) pleasing James Dobson's religious-right. Clearly a hypocritical VP pick by McCain for the "sole purpose of political ambitions", is now on record for the world???s eternal observation.

    "McCAIN / PALIN / GOP" HYPOCRISY #11: THE "SADDLEBACK CONE-OF-SILENCE" CHEATER-LIES
It was McCain's responsibility to be in Pastor Rick Warren's "Cone of Silence" before Senator Obama got the first question. McCain was not in the cone-of-silence. Therefore McCain cheated. The issue is not whether McCain heard any of the questions posed to Obama, the issue is that cheating did occur when McCain did not follow the rules to be where he was suppose to be, at the time he was suppose to be there.

"McCAIN / PALIN / GOP" HYPOCRISY #12: THE "IRAQ TIMETABLE" LIES
Senator Obama was consistent in his call for a responsible U.S. troop withdrawal from Iraq under an agreed timetable. McCain and Bush said "absolutely" no timetables and anything like timetables was tantamount to "cut-and-run". It was Bush and McCain's desire to stay in Iraq indefinitely. Only after Obama took McCain's challenge and went to Iraq & Afghanistan, and secured an informal agreement to pull U.S. troops out by 2010, did Bush and McCain changed there views to accept timetables. Now Bush and McCain don't call timetables cut-and-run any longer.

Here is an update on ANOTHER BarackStar buddy....wonder if Hussein looks cute in an orange jumpsuit.

UH OH....looks like HolyRoller was right again.....wonder what the BarackStar is thinking right now??

Is Rezko working with the feds?
SOURCES: | He's been back at courthouse numerous times

August 28, 2008 Chicago Sun Times

"As his sentencing nears, pressure is mounting on Tony Rezko to cooperate with federal investigations into some of the highest-profile politicians in the state -- including Gov. Blagojevich.

Two more trials -- one in Chicago next spring, one in Las Vegas -- hover over the Wilmette businessman and onetime prolific political fund-raiser for the governor and BARACK OBAMA.

Tony Rezko was inside the federal courthouse as recently as Aug. 14, sources for the Sun Times say.

Now, sources tell the Chicago Sun-Times that Rezko has been seen at the federal courthouse as many as a dozen times since his June conviction. He's been held since then at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in downtown Chicago.

Rezko hasn't had to be back in court since a jury convicted him of corruption charges involving state deals. And his scheduled Sept. 3 sentencing was recently pushed back to Oct. 28".....ONE WEEK BEFORE ELECTION....hmmm...just a coincidence???

      and what is palin?

Comment: Must Read for Mccain supporters.
do you remember at the speech Palin said Thanks , but no thanks to bridge to nowhere? well your So called Second Coming left out some details. So i am here to post them for you. :) you can thank me later. http://www.reuters.com/article/vcCandidateFeed7/idUSN3125537020080901

"ANCHORAGE, Alaska (Reuters) - It garnered big applause in her first speech as Republican John McCain's vice presidential pick, but Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin's assertion that she rejected Congressional funds for the so-called "bridge to nowhere" has upset many Alaskans.

During her first speech after being named as McCain's surprise pick as a running mate, Palin said she had told Congress "'thanks but no thanks' on that bridge to nowhere."

In the city Ketchikan, the planned site of the so-called "Bridge to Nowhere," political leaders of both parties said the claim was false and a betrayal of their community, because she had supported the bridge and the earmark for it secured by Alaska's Congressional delegation during her run for governor.

The bridge, a span from the city to Gravina Island, home to only a few dozen people, secured a $223 million earmark in 2005. The pricey designation raised a furor and critics, including McCain, used the bridge as an example of wasteful federal spending on politicians' pet projects.

When she was running for governor in 2006, Palin said she was insulted by the term "bridge to nowhere," according to Ketchikan Mayor Bob Weinstein, a Democrat, and Mike Elerding, a Republican who was Palin's campaign coordinator in the southeast Alaska city.

"People are learning that she pandered to us by saying, I'm for this' ... and then when she found it was politically advantageous for her nationally, abruptly she starts using the very term that she said was insulting," Weinstein said.

Last year, Palin announced she was stopping state work on the controversial project, earning her admirers from earmark critics and budget hawks from around the nation. The move also thrust her into the spotlight as a reform-minded newcomer.

The state, however, never gave back any of the money that was originally earmarked for the Gravina Island bridge, said Weinstein and Elerding.

In fact, the Palin administration has spent "tens of millions of dollars" in federal funds to start building a road on Gravina Island that is supposed to link up to the yet-to-be-built bridge, Weinstein said.

"She said 'thanks but no thanks,' but they kept the money," said Elerding about her applause line

When you keep the money and build another useless project it does not justify it. Also, she flip-flop so loud that she can't take back her words... period. holyroller and dduellman, she lied to you like bush/mcsane about iraq. can't believe you guys are dumb enough to be voters.

No, she didn't use the money on the bridge, but she kept the money all the same. Do you have an allergy to stating facts that don't help your message or is it just your inane douchbaggery?

To ; Saved by McPalin; How stupid do you have to be to compare a kid fresh out of college to a Religious Wacko, that happens to like to hunt, and old enough to be his mama at the time. Compare her state with half the population of Phoenix to a state with the 4th or 5th largest city in the country and then lets talk. Chicago politics would have eaten this hockey mom for dinner. He excelled because he is excellent. She is only there because McSame needed to corral his evangelical wackos to his ticket and give them a reason to vote even if it hurts the economically . If she is so experienced , why are they keeping her away from the media without escort. A truly skilled politician would be an asset with the media. How about that Joe Biden.

    • Posted By: Saved by McPalin @ 09/05/2008 2:28:58 PM

      B. Hussein only was able to "make it" in Chicago because of the likes of Mayor Daley, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Bill Ayers, Tony Rezko, Gov. Blagojevich and other "good ol' boys" in the Chicago machine! I also didn't realize that B. Hussein is a "...kid fresh out of college..." How stupid do you have to be to want a "...kid fresh out of college..." in the most powerful position in the world?

Hey, f*cko, Palin is younger, and fresher out of an inferior school. So Obama isn't qualified; whats the recourse, throw an even less qualified person into the race? Dont give me the party line in response either, its just insulting. This isnt partisanship im giving you, it's a wake up call to accept that our country is FUBAR'd for at least another 8 years.

mrzoid you made some good points about palin and obama. but the most important thing about obama is that he has a plan for america. unlike mcsane/palin who wants to focus on obama only. we need some real issue discusson by the candidates. tried of mcsane protecting palin. palin will choke and embarass mcsane. mcsane will come out and say, "palin does not speak for my campaign."

Yeah, I guess being Barack Obama is, sort of like being Sarah Palin, except you had to go through two years of intense scrutiny over every aspect of your life in order to earn the respect and support of your collegues and voters.

    • Posted By: Saved by McPalin @ 09/05/2008 2:33:23 PM

It is absolutely amazing to me that Sarah Palin after only 1 week can be as popular as B. Hussein after nearly 2 years. WOW!!!!! Just imagine her 80% approval rating that will surely be hers after nearly 2 years. Wonder why after only 6 days 39% of those polled felt she was qualified to be President when only 49% polled believe B. Hussein is after 2 years?

Why do you refer to Obama by his middle name but not Palin?

  • Posted By: belle12 @ 09/06/2008 12:58:07 AM

McCain proved that he is not fit to lead this country. A man who cannot stand up to his own party cannot stand up to hostile foreign powers. He chose her because Karl Rove wouldn't allow him to choose Joe Lieberman. He put winning above this nation. Face it, the maverick is no more and McCain is a shell of his former self. He loves the narrative of his bio even if it not quite true. Would an honorable man hire the man who smeared his wife and daughter eight years ago? Would an honorable man embrace men that he labeled agents of intolerance for the sake of winning an election? At some point in the next few weeks, responsible journalists will ask why so many veterans are opposed to McCain. Someone will ask him why he rejected the GI Bill. At some point when the media gets tired of the Palin mess, they will discuss issues like the economy and oh yeah, those two wars we're fighting. Perhaps the media can stop driving the story because they want a close election and get down to the isubstantive ssues that face this nation. The same media who packaged and sold GW Bush is attempting to sell us McCain/Palin. Let's not forget that the Republicans created the mess and they cannot be trusted to fix it.

I have a real hard time with accepting any dishonesty as it simply destroys everything. There is no way a productive society can be built on accepting dishonesty and when it is accepted, the results are a constantly deteriorating status where those that have just keep improving their status and those that don???t have just keep losing ??? until it all falls apart. Dishonesty not only includes lying to others, in fact what is simply worst is lying to oneself. That occurs when not wanting to recognize the truth in order to just rationalize what benefits oneself and it is literally the worst kind of dishonesty. Take the current political situation. To avoid dealing with the truth and with the issues the Republican Party now declares that it ???isn???t about the issues, it is about the personalities???. If that isn???t a veiled effort to disguise their failure in the past and their lack of having a real plan to change things for the future, I don???t know what is. It is simply an attempt to distract yet even when considered, even then the Democrats would win as Obama???s sincerity beats McCain???s subservience and Biden???s capabilities far exceed Palin???s limit as just an ???attack dog???. The truth is that even the Republican nominee John McCain declares that, under the Republicans, the last eight years have been a miserable failure, they have lost the trust of the people and yet he still offers no specific solutions and has literally demonstrated no efforts over the past eight years to correct the problems. Today he claims only that change is necessary, literally copying Obama, and that he and his ???pit bull with lipstick??? will accomplish, somehow as yet to be defined, those changes. Obviously people???s attachment to and acceptance of those presentations is strictly emotional and not logical but that is the problem. Unless the voters are willing to accept that their current allegiances may be wrong and detrimental to the overall goal, we could literally have more of the same. Imagine having a President John McCain who is again subservient to the (pseudo) conservative leaders he has been trying hard to patronize all along and also the aggressive inexperienced ???pit bull with lipstick??? as Vice President trying to solve our problems for all Americans and to perform diplomacy across the whole world. A really scary image at best.

  • Posted By: notroubleatall1963 @ 09/05/2008 11:56:42 PM

I thought McCain's speech was totally awful. It was so boring, and he seemed so bored during the middle, that I got up and did some cleaning around the house...listening in vain for something interesting like economic policy or any..policy.

I shed a few tears during his POW account but then I've heard it so many times, it is just getting maudlin at this point. I don't see what it has to do with what he's going to do in the White House - tho I appreciate it shows his character. Tough time..wow!

So there wasn't anything worth applauding - the audience looked like a bunch of Neo-Nazis (all white except for about two Blacks, oh, and then Cindy's friends from that African nation she has been saving)...

Not even Palin's speech was terribly high on substance, though I imagine her connection to ANWR will certainly "persuade" McCain to flip-flop on his stance against drilling there, considering the enthusiasm for drilling expressed at the convention.

I am looking forward to the next 60 days, as I think that actually more and more people will sway over toward Obama, except for the Evangelical fanatics who think Palin is truly going to do something about protecting fetuses.

The economy is everyone's main concern and the GOP had nothing to say about it. Scary to think that people would "cheat" so that McCain-Palin could win the White House and we'd be facing another four years of economic decline as poor McCain struggles to sustain a dying economy that will pull the entire world down with it.

Oh well... more of the same, unless I'm surprised and intelligence-over-sentiment really does prevail this November 4.

What a slanted/leftist article, "moved the crowds to fire their shotguns jubilantly in the air", and you call Republicans malicious, what a hypocrite. You support a man who at his very core believes it is okay to deliver a baby and just let it die in a closet, who believes that partially delivering a perfectly viable God created baby and then sucking it's brains out is morally okay. What a leader! Your party attacks Palin and then acts surprised because she has an intelligent retort to your accusations of being less qualified to lead than Obama. The Democrats started something and aren't happy about the way the Republicans are finishing it. McCain tried to give some respect to Obama, "But you have my respect and admiration. Despite our differences, much more unites us than divides us. We are fellow Americans". You libs seem to have no respect for anyone not in line with your own agenda. What a great "Newsweek Web EXCLUSIVE"!

    • Posted By: hiya @ 09/05/2008 3:22:21 PM

I don't believe that Democrats or Obama in particular want to see babies left to die in a closet or partial birth abortions (viable fetuses). You aren't making any distinctions here between early (1-3 month) abortion and late term abortion or actual murder. Nobody on earth wants to see a child murdered, and I think late-term ab's are horrendous and should not be allowed. I'm Democrat. Why not look at whole issues instead of taking a narrow slant on them?

      • Posted By: mrzoid @ 09/05/2008 3:33:37 PM

Wait, you didn't know that Democrats want to kill all babies? They also want to analy sodomize you at a gay sex orgy while simultaniously burning a bible and melting your guns down into cresents and stars in order to convert your children to radical Islam; it's a pretty well known fact.

        • Posted By: rocude @ 09/05/2008 5:02:49 PM

As replied to hiya, I never said anything about all Dems wanting to kill all babies, sheesh. Much less where you took it after that. The simple fact is that Mr. Obama in 2002 voted against the state Born Alive Infants Protection Act and he and Biden both are both fairly vocal supporters of abortion, including partial birth abortion, which if you do your homework is quite frankly delivering the majority of the baby (so as to not have a completely delivered baby) and then as bad as it sounds (b/c it is) they poke a hole in the babies head, suck the brains out, and then deliver it as an aborted baby. But you can go ahead and deny all that, doesn't matter to me, the extreme sarcastic rant not withstanding.

          • Posted By: hiya @ 09/05/2008 7:41:38 PM

So what did you mean by having a baby in a closet an leaving it to die? Who did that?

            • Posted By: rocude @ 09/05/2008 11:43:23 PM

As above, this was a practice (I'm sure not at all hospitals in Illinois) in Illinois as a meas of infanticide. Also, i forgot to note that the above referenced version of the bill did not contain the original language in the bill that did not survive, that is ""(c) A live child born as a result of an abortion shall be fully recognized as a human person and accorded immediate protection under the law."" It was this language that Obama had issue with, among other things. If I offended anyone by my distaste for this article, I apologize, I however stand beside my conviction that infanticide and partial birth abortions are categorically evil. Obviously mrzoid had some issues with my opinion...

I never said Demo's wanted to see babies left to die in a closet, I said Obama did not have a problem with it. Check your records, 2002 Mr. Obama voted against the Induced Infant Liability Act, we're not talking about early term abortion, these are late term or full term murders, very disturbing once you do the homework.

        • Posted By: hiya @ 09/05/2008 8:11:47 PM

          "Synopsis As Introduced
Creates the Induced Birth Infant Liability Act and amends the State Finance Act. Provides that, if a child is born alive after an induced labor abortion or other abortion, a parent of the child or the public guardian may maintain an action on the child's behalf for damages, including costs of care to preserve and protect the life, health, and safety of the child, punitive damages, and costs and attorney's fees, against a hospital, health care facility, or health care provider who harms or neglects the child or fails to provide medical care to the child after the child's birth. Provides that damages shall be used to pay for the cost of preserving and protecting the life, health, and safety of the child. Provides that, if the child does not survive, the balance remaining after the costs of preserving and protecting the life, health, and safety of the child are paid shall be deposited into the Neonatal Care and Perinatal Hospice Fund, a special fund in the State treasury. Provides that the Fund shall be used by the Department of Public Health to make grants for neonatal care or perinatal hospice."
This looks like a bill designed to make the hospital and doctor pay for the child's care if the child is born alive and needing a lot of medical care secondary to the abortion procedure. If Mr Obama voted against it, he was voting not to make the hospitals or doctors pay. He wasn't promoting the baby in question DYING.

          • Posted By: rocude @ 09/05/2008 11:33:15 PM

Hiya, the Illinois version of the Federal Born Alive Infants Protection Act was written to address the then ongoing practice in Illinois of Born Alive Abotions with which you are correct, much language regarding financial damages. He had several reasons for voting against it as you can find on his own site http://factcheck.barackobama.com/ and of which many of his same statements being referenced in for example http://illinoisreview.typepad.com/illinoisreview/2008/01/top-10-reasons.html . He did however vote present on the bill to ammend the Illinois Abortion law of 1975 to include language and rights for born alive aborted babies, so maybe that counts for something. You are perhaps right, he may not have promoted the baby in question dying, but in my studies he has avoided dealing with the problem and in my opinion sat back and let other legislators for Illinois and later for the federal ban on born alive abotions, when he had a chance to stand for something that in my opinion is violently wrong. You can search for Jill Stanek or maybe you tube obama and infancticide to get results like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VIdbYjmbFzo if you believe such things. If his supporters are okay with his stance on these types of issues, then by all means that is well within their rights and I respect that., This one issue alone, was enough however for me to realize where he stands on his moral convictions and his true affiliation to Christ followers. It's laughable to me that Obama and Biden suggest that the Christian church supports abortion. If I'm wrong somewhere on Obama's or Biden's stance on infanticide, please correct me, really.

Barry. You have followed none of my advise (advice). I told you not to prance around Europe. That you are not Evita and we are not Argentinians. I told you not to go on vacation. I told you to pick Hillarry. I told you to tone it down at the convention. But NOOOOOOOOOO. You not only go to Europe, you itch to speak from the Brandenberg Gate. You go on vacation and Russia invades Georgia. Rather than picking Hillary, you pick that old, hypofrontal, goat Biden. Rather than toning it down at the convention, you do a Nuremberg. When are you going to learn? OK. Here is one last piece of advise. Dig up some dirt on Biden. Force him to resign and then pick Hillary.

Oye, Karlito Rove, basta ya. Esta vez, NO!

      • Posted By: josemarti @ 09/05/2008 6:36:47 PM

Obama shows over and over again that he does not understand Americans. Rather than spending his time reading leftist, Marxist literature, he should have spent time reading Washington, Adams, The Federalist Papers, Lincoln, Roosevelt, and Tocqueville. He would have realized that we are not Argentinians and that we are not easily brought to worship politicians and when we are the love affair is usually very shortlived.

        • Posted By: neos @ 09/05/2008 6:45:21 PM

When the issues are impossible to defend, go for character assassination. You and Karl Rove practice this black art well. You are what Washington warned us about when he decried partisan politics.

          • Posted By: josemarti @ 09/05/2008 6:58:34 PM

Character assassination? No, my friend. The Truth. The Heideggerian Truth and nothing but the Truth. This is the Land of Lincoln. The Land of Washington. The Land of Roosevelt. Reagan's shining City on a Hill. The Land that sent its sons to die on the beaches of Normandy and Guadalcanal to save the world from a totalitarian nightmare. The Land that spent its treasure defeating Communism. Obama is an anachronism. He is much older (ideologicall) than McCain. His mind frame is that of Fanon, Carmichael, Malcom X. Ellison, and Garvey. He is much older. Much older, my friend. He thinks America is 1948 Algiers.

josemarti, I must help you to understand that we do not send people into battle to die. We send them into battle to fight well, and sometimes they die in that process.

            • Posted By: neos @ 09/05/2008 7:05:55 PM

Yet again you dodge the issues. In this land you promise to be so patriotic about, 47 million live without access to adequate healthcare, 7,000 foreclosures a day, thousands killed and tens of thousands maimed in George's foolish misadventue in Iraq, our constitution treated with disdain by our executive branch. Our Land of Lincolner is just as patriotic and decent as your John McCain, Your hate has you blinded to this simple truth. .

        • Posted By: limitless88 @ 09/05/2008 7:49:37 PM

What? josemarti are you dense? The only qualification required to be and American is that you actually are from America--duh. So what is up with this "Obama isn't American" thing anyway? He was born and raised in America, he taught Constitutional Law for crying out loud (so I'm pretty sure he read all of the authors that you listed--as does everyone who actually went to college, which, apparently you haven't). Is it because he didn't serve in a war like McCain (which McCain was sure to remind us, ad nauseam, that he did)? That's a ridiculous assumption as well. Or is it simply because he's a black man, and there's still a small, idiotic bunch in America who still believe that blacks are some sort of sub-American, sub-human race? How ABSURD!!!

In Obama we have a well-accomplished candidate (Harvard graduate, has a law degree, 12 years as a Senator), who is just as much an American as any of us, and who is actively addressing the issues that are plaguing modern America. Yet, there are still some (ignorant) Americans who, because of something as trivial as race, refuse to acknowledge this, and find the dumbest arguments against him and his career. Is there any hope left for this country? I guess such people deserve to vote for an out-of-touch elderly president, and his backwoods, inexperienced pitbull with lipstick.

However laughable it may seem, parts of McCains speech made him seem almost a liberal, perhaps it was just that he was trying to appeal to liberals and was simply mouthing words.
Not that being a liberal is bad in fact anyone should be proud of being a liberal if you doubt that, then I suggest you try wikipedia.org and search liberal/politics.

But Palin is a different story this woman is down right scary, The republicans are pushing her as the Republican Hillary when the truth is she is a female Geo. Bush. and described herself aptly as a pit bull with lipstick, Loyal to those close and a danger to everyone else.

It is difficult to get info out of Alaska largely because anyone who knows her is terrified of her, she has no qualms about using her position to have them fired. However there is one person who is beyound P

Couldn't agree with you more, RO. I actually liked a lot of what McCain said last night. Only problem, I don't think much of it was sincere. His campaign for the last two months has been way too cynical for me. Too many lies, McCain. We can't believe a thing you say any more.

I am ashamed that people who think like HolyRoller live in the United States. I suppose we can assume that he considers himself quite religious given his screen name. However, everything I have read from this moron suggests that he is an intolerant, vile, bigot who... oh, wait a second... I shouldn't be so hard on this idiot. He obviously keeps current on his national news by listening to Rush Limbaugh.

Can we start talking about issues? Palin demeaned Obama for "healing the planet." That is something that the next president will have to deal with or our grandchildren will be living very different lives from our. Do we really want someone who thinks shooting wolves from an airplane is humane or that polar bears drowning is ok. Do we want an alternative energy policy which consists of using domestic rather than foreign oil? We have go to start talking about things that matter. Enough with Bristol and Rev. Wright.

    • Posted By: labman57 @ 09/05/2008 8:13:50 PM

Cuz Palin believes that God intended us to rape and abuse the planet, not heal it.

  • Posted By: labman57 @ 09/05/2008 8:10:07 PM

So let's see if we can summarize the GOP platform based on policies and statements put forth by McCain and Palin.

    1) Provide disproportionate tax breaks for the wealthiest Americans (cuz you can never have too much freekin' money)

    2) Eliminate all porkbelly spending and federal earmarks (unless you're the governor of Alaska)

    3) Show our military might wherever needed overseas (cuz the military has SO many underutilized soldiers with nothing to do. Can you say DRAFT?)

    4) Continue to deregulate the energy and financial industries (cuz they are so capable of self-regulation, as can be seen in the oil futures market and the mortgage industry)

    5) Keep government small and respect state's right. Do not intrude in the policies and decisions of states (unless you happen to be gay, need an abortion, or use medical marijuana during cancer treatments)

    6) Continue to push for abstinence-only sex education in the public schools (cuz you can see how well that worked for Palin's family)

    7) Strive to improve public education to make us more competitive in the global economy (except that we'll replace evolution with creationism)

    8) Ignore the melting ice caps resulting from global warming (cuz who gives a damn if polar bears go extinct. There are plenty of other animals to hunt anyway)

    9) Use up the planet's natural resources as rapidly as we can--drill, baby, drill (cuz that's what God intended)

    10) and as McCain was recently quoted, "The economy is basically sound". (cuz, holly crap--he has more houses than he can count, so the economy must be sound FOR HIM).

I have an observation about all of those Republicans that now consider Sen. McCain more fit to be our leader because he was a POW in Viet Nam.

In the Republican primaries of 2000, when Sen. McCain was running against George W. Bush your "beloved" president waged a non-stop attack over his very character as a POW hero . In 2000 Rove started spreding rummors that Sen. MCcain was mentally unstable due to his incarceration in Viet Nam, and therefore unfit to lead. The Bush campaign painted a picture of a rage prone candidate in need of a Doctor. On top of that the Bush campaign in South Carolina started calling Sen. McCain the "*** candidate". Bush's campaign slurs included homosexuality, illegitimate children, and a drug addict wife.

Bush won in South Carolina, and Bush won most of the Right Wing vote and the so called "base" of the Republican party. I most point out that the "base" is exactly the same one that now calls him a hero. How ironic Republicans, how ironic indeed.

For in the end when it comes to vile behavior against a true hero, it was you Republicans from the Right and the base of the Republican party..... The "patriotic" people that will litterlay smear even the bravest of our heroes to win an election.

To put it in ither words dear Republicans , Sen, McCain was and is a decent man whose service I admire tremendously. I don't agree with much of his views as many Democrats...... But most importantly no Democrat I respect will ever go to the despicable extent your "choice" in 2000 went to attack the record of this great American with YOUR FULL SUPPORT .

The fact that you Republicans given the chance to elect Sen. McCain over this poor excuse of a human you gave us as President for 8 years speaks volumes about your judgment. The fact that you stood silent when Sen. McCain was beeing denigrated in such unfair way , while you attack Obama simply for not agreeing with your views as unpatriotic, or worst tells me how hypocrtical you are.

You see Republicans I don't have a problem with Sen. McCain and I would be proud to call him my President any day if the only thing that mattered to be a good leader was experience, and a good character. Unfortunatelly that is not the case as any five year old can tell you. I and many Americans like me do have a problem whith McCain 's ideas, who supports him, and what is behind him..... That would be Neo-Cons, Religious Conservative nut jobs, pollution crazy give me a long cancer types, drill us to oblivion nuts, etc.

And I would stand up against any one that dares to call this true patriot a ***, or a nut case, or a homosexual...... That would be you Republicans .........

OH my how life turns as well as fortunes. It most be painful for some of you Reps to be looking at McCain now as your only hope to power.

Cindy McCain looks like an aging plastic Barbie doll. Or maybe a tired flight attendant who is trying to convince you that she cares about your flight. I would hate to have her for my first lady.

She's got an adams apple and looks way more masculine than feminine. BIG BONED just doesn't cut it. We all know Hussein isn't called "Both Ways Barry" for nothing. You will in fact be one of the first to be affected by the new President Obama's policies when he starts some new programs for the GED. You will no doubt need to study hard for the exam. They are real tough for people like you. Take GED correspondence courses.

Well, she wasn't John McCains first lady; first mistress perhaps, certianly second wife.... but come on, tell me you wouldn't hit that for $100 mill. Of course you'd have to sign a pre-nup like John Sidney McCain.

I have to say that Michelle Obama comes across as a real person, a good mom, and a person I would like for a friend. Cindy McCain has this way of saying something with that droopy right eye that winks every once in awhile in an insincere way. She just really turned me off in her speech last night. Her husband seems to be a much nicer guy than she is a gal. This is gut reaction stuff I'm posting here.

I don't think MicHELLe's really a "she". Wonder if her hospital gave her a free gender bender...OR..."she's" just good with her makeup. Rumor is...the girls are ACTUALLY his brother George's. George coundn't afford them on $12 PER YR.

What kind of first lady would Michelle Obama make? I don't know, an uncosmetically altered one i suppose. Hey, buit families should be off limits right? LEAVE SARAH PALIN ALONE>:(!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We must remembert that we're not voting for a newscaster, we're voting for a president, a leader, a decision maker.
If we want change, who should we trust to make it? Someone whos proven themselves over in war and as a representative? Or someone whos past is shady, albeit and eloquent speaker, one who says there are 57 states in the USA? McCain has shown himself unafraid to stand up to corruption, bear the brunt of criticism yet stillstand strong in his convictions.

    • Posted By: mrzoid @ 09/05/2008 4:47:40 PM

I feel the need to point out the irony of Sarah Palin's sportscasting days, and the fact that John McCain is health challanged (yes, i do consider 4 bouts with cancer a serious health issue for a 72 year old). So change is what you want? Well, let's say that McCain is incopasitated and unable to serve as president; oh you'll get change. Change abortion laws so that not even RAPE and INCEST victims have a choice. Change the Supreme Court to be even further skewed to the far-right (yes, i do consider 7 of 9 justices appointed by republicans skewed). Change in our schools so that the long accepted views of science are trounced by religious conservativism. Oh there would be change, it just may not be the change that you seek.

Obama BLOCKED the Born Alive Infant Protection Act

Gotta love the discussions here. As for me, the RNC was disappointing to me. I waited eagerly to hear John McCain's plan to better our failing economy, his plan to get health care to the millions without access to it, and what we as Americans need and will do to become oil independent. These are things he has discussed before yet no plan, no answer, not even a hint of his thoughts other than "we must" came from his lips. His story of the Viet Nam war and his captivity warmed our hearts, but this is a story that we have listened to many a time, on television, radio, his speeches, and from the pundits that say this will not be enough for him to win the Presidency. They were right.
As a result of the lack of a real plan, and I must admit very reluctantly, my family of 5 and myself will now vote for Barak Obama. With the high costs of fuel, food, travel and everyday living expenses and mortgage, I have real issues that need to be answered. Barak Obama at least offered that. Sorry John.
