Comment: <<BOTH sides in the war killed lots of people>>
what a stupid comment! even in peacetime, self-defense is considered justified, and in no way implies complicity. the war was a result of a fascist coup d'etat against the legitimate Republican government of Spain, and is seen by most as an epic tragedy. read Hemingway. oh, unless the society you live in has burned all books to avoid differing opinions.

Comment: The pitiless slaughter of hundreds of thousands of Spainards by Stalinist communists posing as "Republicans" is another story not yet told here in America. There are two sides to every story; those who wish to read about the real leaders of the the Republican revolutionaries should read The Grand Camouflage - The Communist Conspiracy in the Spanish Civil War by Burnett Bolloten. Comment: Interesting editorial slant from title -- which focuses on "victims of Franco", although the body of the article then admits that BOTH sides in the war killed lots of people.
BUT the amnesty makes a lot of sense -- while closure is good, revenge for political gain by politicians is what destroyed Yugoslavia, and lies at the root of the Georgia-Russia and Palestinian problems today

Comment: It's difficult to believe in the goodness of humanity or the existence of a just God when reading of such crimes, knowing that they really happened, cannot be undone, and most if not all of the perpetrators went unpunished.

Isn't it ironic: Xerox is hoping it can profit by teaching companies how to reduce their printing.
