Why would you expose your 4 month old baby to all that hoopla (couldn't they find a baby sitter and bring the baby out when the family appeared on stage)? If you can stand up to all those corrupt men politicians, couldn't you stand up to some bloggers regarding the baby? Why did she feel the need to tell the world her 17 year old was pregnant? I'm raising the child of a failed teen marriage who happens to have a dead beat dad....

    • Posted By: ihateeveryoneincludingyou @ 09/06/2008 9:48:47 AM

yankeepooh, weren't you paying attention? There was all this bs all over the internet saying that her daughter gave birth to Trig. Besides, after a while it would be pretty obvious that her daughter is pregnant. It's not like you can hide that for long.

What bothers me is that people simply take the Republicans at their word even though they have been lying to us for so long. It is so frustrating that people believe them especially since Sarah Palin cut funding for similar programs fro people with disabilities in her state by 62%

  • Posted By: SKVAM @ 09/06/2008 9:33:46 AM

Republicans have never shown an interest in national health care for the uninsured and underinsured, LET ALONE helping those with disabilities of the mind. Many of those folks suffer economically hugely with a child with disabilities. IDEA, the federal law that speaks of educating those with disabilities, is not funded, and Republicans would rather not. So Palin opens her mouth and says whatever she wants, she is a Republican, one who belongs to a party that would rather spend 10 billion a month in Iraq, and more, rather than support fellow Americans with disabilities. I don't believe her. I think, like much of her scripted piece, she is standing up there and her mouth is moved by McCain Bush Rove speech writers.

I'm leery of her promise based on the fact that she slashed special education funding by 60% as Governor of Alaska. I think this is an empty promise to get elected. Pay attention to her actions, not her words.

  • Posted By: Sea2See @ 09/06/2008 4:27:34 AM

She will do whatever is to her benifit. Take a look at what she did for special needs kids BEFORE she had one! Remember her state has so much money from oil they give money back so it's not like they can't afford those programs...

  • Posted By: ilsalund @ 09/06/2008 1:25:17 AM

Children age out of their parents insurance at 18 unless enrolled as full time college students, once they graduate that's gone. There's no federal prg to address the ongoing needs of thousands of survivors of childhood cancers, genetic disorders or other health conditions. They have no access to health care and couldn't possibly afford private insur. No more bitching and BS we must demand more of both parties! Ask hard questions....

I am a single parent of two disabled children, one who was born that way and one who suffered a serious illness that left her disabled. Stem cell treatments in other countries have been sucessful and parents of disabled children are taking their children to places like China and the Dominican Republic. I would be very interested to hear her take on this? Won't this go against her conservative beliefs?

While you state that bush made the reauthoriazation, he is talking out of the side of his mouth. He has repeatedly appointed judges that have stricken parts of the ADA, or made them ineffective, especially regarding employment. I continue to see discrimination.

As governor, Palin slashed funding for special needs children by 62%. Why was that not mentioned in the article? Did I miss it? I think that would be key in a discussion of this nature.

    • Posted By: Pallisor @ 09/06/2008 12:06:53 AM

No, you didn't miss it. This was a story put out by CNN, who either didn't have or report the full story.

The rest of the story is here:

It's amazing how many people are using CNN for a source. They have been an opinion channel for quite a while. People are going to believe whatever they want to believe, not weither it is the truth or not, but because of their own beliefs. If your going to vote republican you going to see all the good things Sarah Palin has done. If your going to vote democrat, well, you've swallowed the Kool Aid and there ain't a lot of hope for you. Keep listening to Larry King and everything will be OK.

    • Posted By: PleaseSaveAmerica @ 09/05/2008 10:46:01 PM

That wasn't a very objective reply -- a more objective reply would be people are going to believe what they want to believe and both parties will wear their rose colored glasses or drink the Kool-Aid so to speak. Please show some objectivity.

To show further objectivity, CNN, MSNBC, etc. have been Godsends to Palin. Whether the coverage of her has been negative or positive, it has kept her in the news, thus firing up her supporters. So don't sit here and say they haven't helped.....it would have been much worse for you had the media just ignored you. Palin supporters are riding the fruits of the media's labor.

      • Posted By: underdog @ 09/05/2008 11:29:33 PM

I have been objective. The problem is, most coverage during this election cycle has not. Thats why SNL was making fun of the debates. When Barak announced he was going to run I emailed a reporter and told him Barak would be nominated. The reporter assured me that once the primaries started Barak would get the indepth investigation and would probably not make it. Umph!! I loved it when the reporters overkilled the description of "like a Rock Star". CNN did it, Newsweek did it. They all did it. The best and most experienced candidate for the democrats was forced to drop out, He didn' even get to debate in the center of the stage. Those positions were for the chosen, the select, the real candidates as so anoited by the media. The best candidate was finally selected by the "Rock Star" to be his second, his "less then " , you know ," second string".

It may be a "Godsend" to you if Palin's name is floated during the news, but listen to the coverage. Is the complete truth being told? Is opinion be substituted for facts. Are facts be intensionaly left out. CNN and NBC, and CBS have been found to be guilty of some or all of those charges recently.

If you want the truth you have to do a little digging of your own, I would not use most mainsteam media as a source for a cookie recipe.

Palin is no friend of families with special needs kids. While governor she cut funding for programs assisting special needs kids by 62%!! Goggle "Palin and special needs funding" and see for yourself.

    • Posted By: Pallisor @ 09/05/2008 9:36:23 PM

Not so. She is very much a friend. To the tune of increasing funding by 175%, not cutting it by 62% as CNN likes to report. As usual, they report only the part of a story that supports their liberal views.

Talk about cnn's bias while citing a Weekly Standard blog. That takes moxy.

        • Posted By: Pallisor @ 09/05/2008 11:19:30 PM

I agree the two are very opposite. The difference here is the Weekly Standard is reporting the whole story.

  • Posted By: pinkpanther87413 @ 09/05/2008 9:11:28 PM

    btw
PALIN IS JUST THE SAME AS DAN QUAIL! TRANSPARENT!

    • Posted By: ihateeveryoneincludingyou @ 09/05/2008 10:37:04 PM

Apparently you got your spelling lessons from the former VP. The name's "Quayle". Nice try, though.

guess what??? Thank you for the correction i knew it was spelled wrong so again thank you very much

When I was misdiagnosed with Down Syndrome, there was nobody to support my mother and father and they were traumatized by the diagnosis. Fortunately for me, it was the diagnosis of someone who was not qualified to make it but how was an unsophisticated woman to know that. Years later, I have become very sympathetic to women who have the babies and raise them as well as to those who choose to have abortions. Every woman should have that choice, as Sarah Palin did and seeks to deny other women the same right. I worked in a hospital that employed Down Syndrome adults and they were wonderful employees, the most loyal and least apt to take time off other than vacations. They were always on time and polite. To get there, though, they and their mothers need support. I'm not sure Palin, with her right-wing cred, is the one to give mothers that support.

And the funding for this will come from exactly where? This might actually require (dare I say it?) TAXES!

    • Posted By: wildlifeusa @ 09/05/2008 9:12:53 PM

Funny how none of you is outraged at the amount of youg taxes that are going to the militarty and weapons of mass destruction. You all think that it is normal! Well, people you bettter wake up because it is not! You all need to get out of that collective paranoia you live in. Spending so much of your money on the military and none on the people is a insanity!!! Again, if this keep going on, your country will collapes! You cannot go on for ever, feeding a military machine and not taking care of the people for ever!

      • Posted By: Pallisor @ 09/05/2008 10:11:11 PM

Unlike socialists/marxists like yourself, most of us here in America think we need a strong military. We don't have someone else to defend us like some countries over-seas do.

  • Posted By: paul962 @ 09/05/2008 8:57:55 PM

Palin cut funding for the disabled in Alaska by more trhan 50%.
Why trust someone that lies like this?

    • Posted By: Pallisor @ 09/05/2008 9:32:30 PM

Wrong. She increased it by 175%

SARAH PALIN LINE ITEM VETOED A 62% INCREASE IN FUNDING FOR SPECIAL NEEDS CHILDREN IN HER OWN STATE'S BUDGET. HOW CAN SHE SAY SHE'LL SUPPORT SPECIAL NEEDS CHILDREN WHEN SHE SPECIFICALLY REMOVED A FUNDING LINE FOR THEM?

    • Posted By: paul962 @ 09/05/2008 9:01:17 PM

      100% correct.
Palin, like the republican party is populated and supported by a bunch of lying, say anything, do nothing but shaft the voters bunch.
The republican cannot tell the truth if their very lives depended upon it.

      • Posted By: Pallisor @ 09/05/2008 9:31:31 PM

As usual, you libs are lunging for something that isn't there. Your source is from equally uniformed CNN.

Govenor Palin acutally increased the budget by 175%... now read the truth:

No wonder the majority of Americans think the media is trying to hurt Gov. Palin.

  • Posted By: BayAreaJeff @ 09/05/2008 9:29:32 PM

Here is a quote from someone else that was thinking the same thing:
"I wondered why the program was dropped and googled the Alaska Challenge Youth Academy. Guess what? In FY 08 the academy was moved out of special education management and became it???s own program. And it???s funding was increased by about $2.8 million (to $8,234,000 in FY 08from $5,449,300 in FY07). Here???s a link to the program???s FY 08 budget http://gov.state.ak.us/omb/08_OMB/bu???D/comp2837.pdf"

Sarah is Mcfailing on health care and definitely won't be a friend of families. Her Republican party's No Child Left Behind initiative failed miserably , so how can families with "special needs" as she put it count on someone who voted with Bush 90% of the time. Lastly, she needs to undertsand that these children have autism, mental retardation/ Down's Syndrome, cerebral palsy, etc. These are medical conditions which requires not only special funding for the public school systems, but affordable health care for these families.
The Republicans have ignored the fact that nearly 47 million Americans do not have any health insurance, Corporate HMOs aren't gonna lower their premiums to insure these struggling families, so don't hold your breath. How can we trust McBush and McFailin to really change how things are done in Washington? I'm going with the Democrats, Obama & Biden, to fix this mess!
