If the Republican VP is such a superstar, why is she refusing to answer questions from the press or sit down for any one on one interviews? What other politician would get away with something like this except our darling little Sarah America!

I don't know how much more I can take from the left-wing media. I really don't.

What left wing media. I do not know what news you watch. All the commentators on the T.V. have been linked to the Republican party one way or the other. What about the Fox channel that is owned by big time Republican Rupert Murdock. That network is just an extension of the Republican Party. Get real and use your brains!

Patti - I would suggest you send an SOS for Donna Brazille, Nancy Pelosi, Gov. Sebellius, Carolyn Kennedy (to name a few) to step out there and say something. Because as I remember it Hillary was pure poison in this primary race. To have her out there now will simply inflame passions. Do you not agree?

    Dear Formillers,

Mocking me because I made a typing error discredits you, especially after I acknowledged my own mistake! I choose to value the service and deep patriotism of all military personnel-not just the ones with whom I agree.

This is nothing more than yet another example of Liberal media bias. Watching the Left scramble to try and formulate a Palin antidote is pure comedy. Well good luck. Because the truth of it is that despite the opportunity to do so, one party took a pass on affecting "change," and the other actually acted on it. Surprise surprise when the two candidates in question consist of a talker and a doer.

In choosing Gov Palin, Senator McCain sent a clear message to his party and the nation, namely that the era of the glass ceiling and the good old boys network, both so pervasive in our national politics, is at an end. Again, he put his money where it's mouth is by putting a woman a heartbeat away from the big seat, while at the same time, making her the party's presumptive presidential nominee in '12 or '16. So whine and cry about how Gov. Palin isn't liberal enough to be representative of the true female vote, when in reality, she isn't representative of the Radical, uncompromising Left. McCain/Palin in 08.

Let's see...Hillary was passed over for both the President and VP nomination and now she is expected to give up her day job as NY senator to "rescue" the Democratic Party from Gov. Palin. I won't vote for McCain/Palin because I disagree with their platform...it's more than personality and gender...it's the issues! Obama/Biden must set their agenda and convince the American people that they have a vision for the country. Hillary is not running...I'm sure she will support the O/B ticket appropriately, but since we didn't want her on the ticket, her loyalty is to the state of NY. She can work for the people in Congress regardless of the President. You can't have it both ways!

I absolutely hear what you???re saying and have felt the same way for a long time: absolutely outraged that after what was done to Hillary, Obama & the DNC expected her to win her voters over for Obama! I was determined to vote for Hillary, come November. But over time, something is shifting for me.

I intend to continue standing up against what was done in this election to Hillary--it was unconscionable and unacceptable. I???d like to find ways to work with other women to challenge the DNC and the media to ensure that this doesn't happen again, to make clear that women will NOT allow this to ever happen again. (We are over 50% of the population!)

But, I am beginning to see the Palin nomination as an irony that could help many other Americans to see what a great candidate Hillary was, and what a great President Hillary truly will make in the future. By helping to expose the republican cynical move for what it is, in the long run, Hillary only increases her own stature, power and influence. (Contrast what Hillary brings to the table, with Palin). Come 2012 or 2016, Hillary will hopefully run again. Her work to secure the Presidency for Democrats in 2008 will help to get her there. It will allow many others to see Hillary for the can-do, effective, gifted and powerful woman she is. In the meantime, women???s organizations, and women who organize around this issue, can work to negotiate changes about how future female Presidential candidates are treated (and other issues, as well).

I don???t want the republican devastation to continue???it???s suicidal for the country, for all of us, and if we can find a way to keep making changes for women???s lives and for women who run for office, this can all work to our benefit, long term. Democrats are much more likely to work with us. It???s just a long road to hoe, as it always has been. We need to remember that, step-by-painful step, as we go.

But something has shifted for me. I want to find ways to work with other women to challenge the DNC and the media about what they've done to ensure it doesn't happen again. But there is also an opportunity here, for Hillary, in challenging Palins cynical nomination for VP. By helping to expose the republicans cynical move for what it is, In the long run, Hillary increases her stature and power and influence. Contrast in what Hillary brings to the table, compared to Palin, is undeniable) for Hillary to Obama camp needing Hillary to contend with this cynical

I don't think Hillary will say anything about Palin, and she won't campaign vigorously for Obama. I think she wants McCain to win so she can say, "See! I told you so!" and so that she can run for president again in 4 years.

I'm sorry - did you say Obama/Palin ticket? Hmm - Schultz famiy - this is not reality t.v. - this is real life. If you want a teddy bear prez - go to Build a bear and buy one. The complexities of running an enitre country - ethically so. Diversely so. He can contribute at the level he HAS until now felt most comfortably doing - that of sitting in on committee meetings. running community activities, whatever. But he has not shown the PROVEN capacity and/or ability to run an entire city, state and/or nation as of yet - what makes you believe he CAN - because he passionately promises to - based upon what merit. And yet you would demean and/or dismiss a public service laden ticket of McCain and Palin as being lesser deserving. Really? That just makes little if no sense.

Ha! as someone who can laugh at myself, I see that I miswrote, "Obama-Biden" ticket!

How far gone are we as a nation that people rail and weep over the killing of animals but do not bat an eyelash at the literal dismemberment of a defenseless human being?

  • Posted By: TakeResponsibility @ 09/06/2008 3:55:55 PM

Patti Davis critizes Sarah Palin for shooting and killing an animal in the same article she is also worried about women losing the right to have a choice to kill their unborn babies. I guess she feels that is okay to kill unborn babies but not animals. Make your child bearing decisions before you have unprotected sex then you will not have to make the choice of taking a life.

    • Posted By: mrnmama @ 09/06/2008 5:01:40 PM

Exactly. Have far gone are we as a country that people rail about the killing of animals but do not bat an eyelash at literally dismembering a defenseless human being?

    Dear Readers,

My husband, who is a graduate of West Point ('91), graduated from Ranger school, served in Haiti and S. Korea, and was honorably discharged (and with many comendations) is also a man of honor, intellegence, and patriotism proud suporter of the Obama-Palin ticket. I hope that as his heart and contribution to our Nation will someday be recognized on equal par to those (honorable) military personnel who choose to vote Senator McCain.

Way to reduce an effective executive level public leader down to the tiniest level, irish. Wow - you obviously know a whole lot more about Palin's accomplishments and proven record as to leadership - and yet you would sink so low as to characterize her like this? Really? She is the upholder of the constitution - or did you not realize in her role as Governor her DAILY responsibilities include effectively upholding the entire legal systam and all of its constitutational protections each and every day in Alaska by virtue of her being the elected head of the Department of Law in Alaska. Come on , Irish. You of all people should be affirming Sarah Palin's more than able capabilities to run the entire country. You know so. More so than someone of little or no experience as to doing any of that - Barack Obama. Perhaps if she wore a suit and not a dress - with high heels - you would be. Taking us backward in time and recognition of a person of REALIZED political accomplisnments is just flat out unfair, irish.

Why were 12,000 American Flags thrown into the trash at BO's denver thing. We know he disses Small-Town American and his wife is not proud of America until recently, but why throw American flags into the trash. True Americans cherish their flags. So BO, we wait to hear from you. This is pathetic.

Thank you for sharing that point. Once the TV cameras were off, the people at that event didn't need to put on the appearance of patriots any longer. Sort of like saying compassionate and empathetic things to working class folks in public, then looking down your nose at them during elite, liberal, fundraisers in San Francisco in private.

Hillary might also say what is clear to everyone but her supporters: Sarah Palin is a triumph of American misogyny and ignorance.

What a womderful letter, I commend you and yes I totally agree.... Where have you been, we need a lot more women like you. Hillary and other intelligent, strong women in this contry, speak up!

    • Posted By: zyxwvut @ 09/06/2008 4:52:21 PM

Hmmm, are the people who agree with you the "intelligent "ones?

I'm probably wasting my time, but I'll echo what many have said for years to liberals. As soon as you are able to understand that "intelligent" people can have differing opinions, then perhaps you'll be able to have more constructive political dialogue - and actually implement progressive changes. Until then, attitudes like yours continue to amuse conservatives and independents. Where do you think the "elitist" label comes from?????

I attended college with Palin (then Heath) and if you are comfortable with having someone who belives her direction form God ( the will of God) is above the constitution then you wil be comfortable with Palin as a candidate.

One last thing.... I find it very hmmmm, interesting that Patti Davis is all upset with Gov. Palin All I can say is Playboy, July 1994.

I don't know how much more garbage I can take from the left-wing media, I really don't.
