It's too bad that liberal women only see liberal women as role models. Feminist think that all women must hate men, abort children, and save the whales. Hillary stood by her man while he chased everything in a skirt, because he gave her a voice in government she never earned for herself. What is positive about a woman who would give up her self respect for power? Patti Davis states as a fact that America is in trouble and she is right and it will only get worse if we elect Barrack Obama.

You are pretty uniformed about what feminists think.

Palin is the most pathetic gimmick since Coke II.

How many of you "Women who are waiting to hear from you" preferred to hear from Obama and voted for him in the primary. I supported Hillary because she is a woman and because I agree with some of her political stances. How many of you "women in waiting" applauded Lloyd Bentsen when he sacastically told Dan Quayle that he wan't no Jack Kennedy. Sometimes sarcasm and snarkiness fit the occasion. Palin was talking to her base and it was appropriate for her to heap scorn on her opponents, that's her job as the VP candidate. As far as I'm concerned, Hillary has won the right to remain silent. The Chosen One should be able to win on his own or else what's a messiah for? A parting shot...just when did possessing a passport become a requirement to run for office?

    FEAR-
    F-Finding E-Excuses (to) A-Attack R-Republicans !!
Wow-look at the "FEAR" Sarah Palin has struck in the Demo party. It is absolutely pathetic to call Sarah Palin "shrill". This is politics folks-get a grip. Not to mention...has anyone been paying attention to Hillary Clinton for the last 16 years??? Shrill is an under-statement!

  • Posted By: Sarahh @ 09/06/2008 3:44:56 PM

    >First off, it was insulting to all women that Barak Obama didn't nominate Hillary for his Vice President <

Nonsense I supported Hillary but I didn't want her to be veep and am not insulted. Speak for yourself, not all women, or you will be as insulting as many of us find the Palin pick.

After the bitterness of the campaign, a dysfunctional White House was too likely with Hillary as veep and the situation too critical to take the risk. There are more important things at stake than Hillary's need for honor. Saying otherwise is an insult to her. I don't think she is that petty. She can do more in the Senate.

    FEAR
    F-Find E-Excuses (to) A-Attack R-Republicans
It is amazing the "FEAR" Sarah Palin has struck in the hearts of the Dems!
It is laughable to call Sarah's demeanor "shrill". Are you kidding me? Have any of you been listening to Hillary Clington for the last 16 years!!!

Thank you for this wonderful letter. Please let us hear something in the press besides fawning over Palin. I think it is grand that she hunts and fishes, but she is interviewing us, the American public, for a very important job. She should treat us with some respect and talk to us about what she will do and why. I heard none of that from her. This isn't "American Idol". This is the USA of Washington, Jefferson, and Lincoln. We, the people, need to see some substance, not glimmer and gloss. We've had enough of that now.

Where were you when Obama was fawned upon rather than questioned in great depth? It is not too late to subject these folks to the 3rd degree. But I can assure Obama will come way short ...

  • Posted By: lucman @ 09/06/2008 3:42:13 PM

Grow up. You sound like a weak, irratating female.
You are ready to sell yourself out to a man who has no experience but has a charming personality & speaking voice who threw Ms. Hillary out on her ass.
Sen. McCain is an accomplished veteran, Sen., & human being who has choosen another up & coming accomplished female as a running mate.
If Mr. Charming didn't feel so threatened by Ms Hillary's experience & accomplishments you/I wouldn't be blogging!!!

Alaskagal (assuming you are for real) so if Palin has an 80% approval rating all it says to us that you have an ax to grind. By the way in case you do not know Obama also exaggerates his importance. He did nothing in the Illinois legislature except had his name added to bills folks worked hard on - and that is a matter of public record. And rather than confront corruption he joined in (surely you are up on the Rezlo, the Iraqi billionaire).

And if it comes to character I do not think a man attending a racist divisive church is the sort of person I want to promote as my President. Let us face the fact a white man attending a church with that sort of mantra would have been discounted a long time ago. And if he did not get the message Al & Jesse would have marched to Washington and be many months into a hunger strike on the steps of the Washington monument. Let us have consistency in how we treat people - white or black. that is what Martin Luther King stood for. So in my opinion, just on that basis this man is not a fit President for all Americans.

And there are many other unsavory things about this man that I will not care to outline ... What God ordains man cannot thwart. I am black but have principles - my conscience does not allow me to look Ugly in the eye and call it Good. I think a lot of folks need to really look at this issue with spiritual eyes. We get this wrong and we are in for some trying times ahead ...

    • Posted By: alaskagal @ 09/06/2008 2:17:55 PM

I assure you I am for real (look up Chugiak, Alaska...) and I have no ax to grind. It's true, Sarah is wildly popular here. Unfortunately this is not some popularity contest and the consequences for choosing someone based on a "rah-rah"/cheerleading attitude will crush this country. Look into the facts of her support for that "Bridge to NoWhere", the gas pipeline that is NOT imminent (possibly in 10 years and probably NEVER), as well as the pending charges of abuse of her power in a lawsuit currently filed against her. I am not saying that Obama is the perfect candidate either, but at least I am willing to look at both sides and not just with a spiritual eye. We can't pray our way to prosperity!

      • Posted By: LMAO @ 09/06/2008 3:39:52 PM

I agree this is not a popularity contest that is why I preferred Hillary Clinton - a true American Patriot with the right experiences over Obama. And what is worst a President who attended a racist, divisive church for 20 years or a VP who is only 2nd on the ticket? And let us not forget the Rezlo kickback that speaks about the politics-as-usual with Obama. There are many other things that cause me unease...

Now regardless of Palin's failings her heart is in the right place ... And by the way since when we fuss over the VP. This McCain vs. Obama (not Palin vs. Obama). Have you forgotten that fact?

  • Posted By: Flash Drive @ 09/06/2008 3:37:15 PM

Politics, like ever other thing, is dynamic and never static. What a difference a few days can make. McCain made a master stroke by choosing the relatively unknown Sarah Palin as his running mate, this has definitely changed the momentun of this election. The Obama camp was very comfortable and everything seens to be working in their favor.Who needed Hillary or her supporters to help defeat the Republicans in November? Hillary and her 18 million supporters were redicule and 'thrown aside'.
So why all of a sudden Hillary needs to be the 'saviour' of the Democratic party. Hillary is not the Nominee, why don't the Obama camp call on their stooges Edwards,Kerry, Kennedy, Richardson,Deen,Reid and Polosi to come to the rescue.
    Payback is a bitch.

  • Posted By: fixdivots @ 09/06/2008 2:51:52 PM

get over Hillary everyone. Hillary popularity is only due to who she married. She has accomplished little on her own and is only successful in patronizing every group she is in front of and appears to have hypnotized Ms. Davis. BTW....who is Ms. Davis????

  • Posted By: NicoleMH @ 09/06/2008 2:44:12 PM

I find this incredibly biased. As a woman, I could not bring myself to fall in line behind HILARY, just because she was a woman. Sarah Palin represents all of the female Republicans out there whose voice is so rarely hearid in this liberal media. I am appalled and offended and frankly, I'm sick of apologizing for being a Repbulican. McCain and Palin remind us of what being a politician is all about - working for the people. Devoting your work and life to a cause greather than you. I applaud Palin for her no apologies forthright attitude. I'm sick of hearing about Hilary, she's an embarrassment to the female cause.

    • Posted By: Claire22 @ 09/06/2008 3:27:53 PM

I agree. Hilary does not care for women's issues. She only cares about her own goals. I am also proud to be a Republican!

  • Posted By: Jgholl @ 09/06/2008 3:26:30 PM

Why was it not mentioned in the Patti Davis article about not subjecting Sarah Palin's 17 year old daughter to the cruelness of the media.? Also, I don't want to hear from a woman who let her husband humiliate her before the world and stayed with him for the sake of power. Talk about weak.!

  • Posted By: Pat from Hendersonville @ 09/06/2008 3:26:16 PM

Let's see...Hillary was passed over for both the President and VP nomination and now she is expected to give up her day job as NY senator to "rescue" the Democratic Party from Gov. Palin. I won't vote for McCain/Palin because I disagree with their platform...it's more than personality and gender...it's the issues! Obama/Biden must set their agenda and convince the American people that they have a vision for the country. Hillary is not running...I'm sure she will support the O/B ticket appropriately, but since we didn't want her on the ticket, her loyalty is to the state of NY. She can work for the people in Congress regardless of the President. You can't have it both ways!

  • Posted By: savySeven @ 09/06/2008 3:24:37 PM

Wow, are you all silly. Why are people so quick to cast stones at someone they only know from what the media is letting them know? There is a comment above that says she will take away rights of woman. Ok get a clue. That???s what your gossipy friends are all saying as you wait at the corner with your kids to get on the school bus. She is Anti- Abortion and that???s a shame. However, do you really think that she could even come close to over turning Roe vs. Wade? Really! Let???s say by some small chance she did. It would then fall in to the states hands to decide on abortion. Stop casting stones on what you hear by the water cooler and think deeper and read deeper. You really honestly think that it today???s day and age woman will lose rights? Those that think that??? maybe you should because you???re not thinking.

I don't agree with everything McCain and Palin are talking about but I can say the same even more so about Obama and Biden. You need to put your hopes in someone that really can say for 100% that he loves his country, loves what it used to stand for, and loves what he can make it stand for. Let him try and give us all back that feel Americans used to have and the pride to hold our heads high knowing that this is once again a great nation and the best nation to live in. Not saying I still don???t have pride in my country by any means but sometimes I can only shake my head. Cheesy to say but true.

  • Posted By: Wayne Anderson @ 09/06/2008 2:32:51 PM

And who exactly are these "Women who are waiting to hear from you"? Sounds like a bunch of male Obama supporters trying to get Hillary to do Obama's heavy lifting for him.

Man up Obama. You didn't want Hillary as your V.P. remember.

    • Posted By: nancy50 @ 09/06/2008 3:23:55 PM

I totally agree with you. Hillary worked harder than either Obama or McCain during the primary season. She deserves to take a vacation. Let's see Obama do his own grunt work - he is "the one" afterall. Or maybe he could have Oprah or Caroline Kennedy go out to attack Pallin. Men always seem to be up for a good ladies mud wrestling event.

Or maybe he could have Oprah or Caroline Kennedy go out and attack Sarah Pallin. It seems that men are alwasy

  • Posted By: yola @ 09/06/2008 3:16:30 PM

Oh thank you Patti, I have been thinking the same thing. Where is Hillary, why she has not spoken out yet, when she speaks we all listen. I am a woman and I feel Palin is dangerous for this country. So hopefully Hillary will speak out soon, if she does not I will be so disappointed and her political career will be over!

    • Posted By: WasHRCnowPalin @ 09/06/2008 3:23:30 PM

where were you during the Dem convention? Hillary spoke out and followed the DEM party line... even did some trapeze flips for Obama during role call... So now you want her to out 2012 on the line for a man who did not care enough to even consider her for the number to ticket?

Have the leftist Democrat women all become Stepford wives?

For those who think Sarah Palin represents the best and brightest of American women, I have a thought. We desperately need to design and provide education programs for girls and boys about gender politics. All young girls could learn about the history of women, our standing and treatment in society, gender roles, the politics of growing up female, etc. Boys would likewise learn about these issues and about also about growing up male in our society. They would be taught about making conscious, responsible decisions about who they want to be in relation to their families and the women in their lives. This would give future generations of both sexes greater insight into the issues that so powerfully impact our lives, a clearer understanding of who we each are and greater clarity about what we need to do to improve our lives and the lives of our families. It would also result in a much more rational, balanced, informed, egalitarian society. Gender bias and stereotyping is as destructive as racism, and certainly no less serious.
I???m a Hillary voter who was determined to vote for her in November. I???m still angry about what the media and DNC did in this election, and I hope to work with other women to ensure that what happened to Hillary can never be repeated again in American politics. I???m also convinced that electing another republican President/VP would be suicidal, after the damage the republicans have done over the past 8 years.

Sarah Palin is no Hillary Clinton. Her views are far too extreme and I don???t think she???ll draw the votes of Hillary supporters. But, I agree that Hillary could make a difference here. The country needs her help to expose this manipulative, cynical appointment for what it is.

However, and this is critical, Obama needs to directly reach out to women across the country, including Hillary voters, to address issues that impact the quality of our lives. Women are an important voting block and need to be acknowledged as such--we are 51% of the population. Why hasn???t Obama done this? If he wants to ensure his election and save the country from more of the same, he needs to swallow his pride, or whatever it is that???s preventing him from reaching out, and directly ask for the votes of independent and democratic women across the country, including Hillary supporters.

Hillary won't say anything. That promise to help Barak was just that. A promise.

    • Posted By: nancylee2008 @ 09/06/2008 3:19:20 PM

Just like the promise that Obama gave Hiliary about helping her in her campaign's debt. Just a promise.

  • Posted By: sccat @ 09/06/2008 3:17:45 PM

This letter expresses what many of us feel. Insulted at the assumption we, as women, will vote for someone--anyone based on gender.
