Sarah Palin is scarey. She is Dick Cheney in a skirt. As far as the photo of her posed in front of a bear skin and the other photo of her wrapped in fur - big turn-off.

And what is even more troubling is that the RNC will not let her participate in any interviews. Are the repubs afraid that the world will see that this woman is an insult to every thinking American who realizes just how unqualified she is for the job of VP.

    God help us all.

NOW, Newsweek and Patti Davis back Hillary? This is BULL. If us 18M believe this article, we are DUMB. Women, or anyone, will NEVER find a candidate you agree with everything. Don't you think if Roe v. Wade was going to be overturned BUSH would have done it during his watch AND when there was a Republican congress? Of course! So, NOW who is playing the FEAR gave? Its us Dems! And, even if McCain wanted to overturn Roe or put super-conservative judges on the Supreme court, he CANNOT because there is a Democratic congress and they will stop it! STOP putting FEAR first. If you really think Obama's supporters will support Hillary if she runs again, you are NUTS. She and Bill gave their speeches to realign with the party, JUST like McCain had to after being humiliated personally by BUSH in the 2000 South Carolina primary. Bush and McCain are NOT friends, constituants, or agree on anything -- its just to realign with the party -- just like Bill and Hillary did with their speech in Colorado. If you belong to a party, you pay the price when you get humiliated by another candidate that gets their pay "paid" for by vengeful party leaders i.e., Cheny, Rumsfield, Rowe OR Kennedy, Kerry, Dean, Pelosi. THIS election, think which candidate has the most character to lead -- who do you REALLY feel you can TRUST -- vote with your heart this time and stop thinking of YOUR OWN special interests as McCain has asked his party to do. Try it JUST ONCE. Which candidate do you TRUST this election? I've been a Repub and Dem, but this time I can only TRUST MCCAIN.

hogwash, Bush has successfully added more conservative supremes, and if McSame is prez he will add yet more, and then Roe v Wade really will get overturned.

This is very, very scary. No one likes abortions, but they will continue even if illegal and then you'll have women butchered.

Are you kidding me? Sarah Palin is Dick Cheney with breast! Big oil -in Alaska- supported her as Mayor, then helped her get elected as Governor. She is just a tool for big oil.

    • Posted By: othoschild @ 09/06/2008 10:55:58 AM

Another knee-jerk tirade on big oil...Do you prefer your oil from nationalized, state-ran foreign firms? They are the competition.

Patti: What I would like to see happen is for HIllary to take 2 months off, then accept President McCain's offer to be the country's new Secretary of Health, Education, and Welfare. She would be an excellent choice for this post. And Obama, despite the image of supposed change, would never step that far outside the old-school box. Only a true maverick would do such a thing.

    • Posted By: WasHRCnowPalin @ 09/06/2008 10:55:49 AM

Hillary can get more from McCain (and has already) than MAObama will ever give her!

      Sarah 2008... Hillary 2012!!

  • Posted By: twiddly @ 09/06/2008 10:54:14 AM

hey othoschild, McSame and Palin stand for everything Hillary is against!
How can you be so dense not to see that?

Hillary as McSame's Sec of HEW? LOL, he is AGAINST her and Obama's plans for healthcare. What a crock!

Who speaks for women? In case you miss it Gov. Sarah Palin is more woman than you snobs can ever hope to be. Somewhere in your unenlightened soul there is a tiny voice that is saying to you that this is a woman who did not wait passively for Hope and Change to descend from on high (via the likes of Obama). Rather she set about effecting Change to bring Hope to the masses ??? the type of folks we need in Washington.

And just to add salt to your wounded pride, Palin do not just speak for us women only. She speaks to the Common Man (a much bigger constituency) letting them know loud and clear that they too can be part of the decision making process. So rather than be dismissive of her you should be so proud that finally one of us (by her many acts) transcended the gender divide. In one fell swoop she has united us to focus on our Common Destiny ??? moving the US forward. She is a crystal clear mirror that allows folks to the see Obama???s utter shallowness. What a huge win for feminists!

Move over Patti Davis (and other of your ilk) - you guys are making asses of yourself (and of woman in general). The men that read your dribble are probably scratching their heads and saying: ???We always knew women are not fit to lead because they are so irrational.??? They are right - folks of you are not leaders. But Palin is clearly a Leader for the Ages.

Sen Clinton is campaigning for Obama/Biden starting Monday in Florida. She has pledged to work her heart out to see them succeed, and she will. However, she should not be the one to go on attack against Palin. It would be a huge distraction and frankly, Palin can't touch Hillary Clinton in terms of accomplishments and record. If Sen. Clinton were to go on attack against Palin, the media would call it a cat fight and laugh. Clinton will rightfully focus on the Obama/Biden agenda and policies. Palin is radioactive, and Biden, as our VP pick, is the right person to go after Palin. He started yesterday, noting that the Republicans offerred nothing for the American people during their convention. The McCain/Palin ticket was and is a gimmick, and enough people are really hurting in this country that they will reject the gimmick.

Ms. Davis' father once predicted that the first woman U.S. President would be a Republican, not a Democrat. I believe that within the next decade his prediction will come true.

  • Posted By: jleblanc71 @ 09/06/2008 10:30:58 AM

Poor form. I applaud Ms. Palin, Hillary has been as tough and sarcastic as any so I think it would be tough for her to criticize! This country needs a true reform, less spending in government and more individuals who rely on themselves, not a handout! The McCain/Palin ticket can give individuals more of their checks back so they can make ends meet. Palin already has a record of cutting spending, lets take it national!!!

    Puleez!
The *last * thing that Hillary wants to do is help Barack Hossein Obama. What does she owe him? (Other than payback). If McCain wins, she can run against him in 2012.

This has got to be the most pathetic open-letter/op-ed piece I've ever read. Patti should be truly embarrassed. Feminists should be embarrassed also. What ever happened to "I am woman. Hear me roar"? There are so many things wrong with this.

Why is Hillary the only woman who can carry this message? Where are the other feminists?
Why are only certain women qualified to represent women?
Are feminists so dogmatic that they cant appreciate strong women who chant different dogma?
Is the feminist movement so broken that feminists must grovel, begging for mercy?

I could go on for hours, so listen. You feminists need to figure out what you really want or accept the fact that you may have won the war. Let me remind you Hillary almost got the Democratic nomination. She went farther than any woman has. Palin is a VP candidate. While not the first, the Republicans have come decades forward, whether you like her or not.

Feminists today, especially Patti simply cannot see the forest beyond the trees. Take note, feminists. Your battle line is not drawn at "barefoot and pregnant" anymore. Its drawn at "is she better qualified than him to be the Presidential nominee" and "is that woman a good VP candidate".

Guess what, feminists. You have won the war and you dont even realize it.

Have you forgotten so soon? Palin did not toss aside Hillary, Obama did. Palin did not toss aside 18 million voices, Obama did. Palin did not belittle Hillary's laugh, her clothes, her tears, her hopes, her dreams, Obama did. I know. I was there. I blogged for Hillary every single day on the blogs fighting all the Obama thugs claiming she murdered Vince Foster, was a racists, and on and on and on. Now I fight for Palin! And I see

    • Posted By: LMAO @ 09/06/2008 9:49:07 AM

Right on - I was there too. I held out hope all the way to convention. Cause I believed Hillary earned the right to make her case at conventiion - 18 million votes, winning all the big states that do matter in November, +35 years of exemplary service to her country, an action person (not just empty words). I boycotted his nomination speech - I stand up for principle. And I will never ever be a Democrat ...

Now I am with Palin - a frontier spirit that show us clearly that Obama is nothing but a puffed up man full of his own self-importance. That woman with little to work with made great strides in shaking up the establishment. I say Power to the Common Man ... McAcain/Palin 2008

Quote: "Palin did not toss aside 18 million voices, Obama did."

Oh, that's brilliant. That must mean that in '92 Bill Clinton tossed aside all the voters who supported Jerry Brown and Paul Tsongas in the primaries. It's a wonder this republic survives at all with the inanity of some of its voters.

  • Posted By: dmcs @ 09/06/2008 7:48:51 AM

What makes Hillary more qualified than Obama? Is it because women are determined ,Hillary should've received the presidency before Obama? Wake up women!! Are you being predjudice ? The majority chse Obama to lead this nation!!! Yet you're willing to put an over-aged unqualified man in , as long as he chooses a female (one who can't properly raise her own children!!). Yet so many of you admire her. Pathetic.

    • Posted By: LMAO @ 09/06/2008 9:03:53 AM

Hillary won more big states in this Primaries - in the Electoral College those little bitty states don't account for much PLUS he would not have won them in the election anyway. She in my opinion is ahead in getting the nomination. If you are fair minded and spiritually grounded you would realise that things are turning on a dime because the right and fair thing was not done. Did you get a sense of love and unity emanating from the Democratic convention? It came across as all pomp and ceremony as if they had to overdo things to create an aura of success. In contrast the Republicans lost the 1st day, was more low key (probably spent less money) and yet exuded an air of True Love & Unity so thick you could cut it with a knife.

People speculate Palin will be forced off the McCain ticket. I believe the opposite will be true - Biden will be forced off the Obama ticket. Have you noticed the discourse is all about Palin, McCain, Obama, Hillary. Do you hear much talk floating about Biden? You should be so ashamed of your rank hyprocrisy. I say to my friends I put Fairness above my Blackness and boycotted Obama nomination speech. God do like ugly.

      • Posted By: LMAO @ 09/06/2008 9:18:04 AM

Ooops ...I meant God do not like ugly

As for attacking the woman and her family it would not work. You have so many non-working women whose kids do get pregnant. This is especially rampant in the black community. So if staying at home was the fix then explain to me why this is so? And I am not knocking blacks as I am black myself. Rather I am saying to folks - stop clutching at straws to invalidate this woman.

If you look back it was if God was saying to us the person for our challenging time is a woman. Corrupt folks tried to upset God's plan. However we are not in charge so that honor was pushed to the Republicans. And they allowed themselves to be inspired by God (as opposed to following conventional wisdom). You have no idea how my soul vibrated with sheer joy when Palin opened her mouth and spoke. And I am betting a lot of spiritually minded folks felt the same way. She is a mirror that clearly shows that Obam is a pure figment of the media imagination. Palin is what Obama aspires to be ... a True Reformer, A Servant of the People. She is USA Joan of Arc ... yes she can steer us away from treading the valley of darkness.
        McCain/Palin 2008

Dear dmcs, Let me guess! You've never raised children. If you had, you would know that you can teach and guid your kids to do the right things. But........kids being kids, they make mistakes and make bad decisions. It's what people do with their bad decisions that matter. Besides, unless the daughter and baby are going on welfare, it's a personal issue. If the government had to support the paid, then it's our business.

This situation reminds me of the battered woman syndrome. We tell women they don't need to take it any more, that they are valuable human beings and if they go back to the batterer after a "honeymoon phase" the abuse will just continue, Well, this is an intervention, Hillary, you don't need to take it anymore, you are a valuable human being, and I know they have flowers for you and loving words, but don't be fooled. They didn't value you before and unless they really get help to change their abusive pattern you are at risk to be abused again. Take care of yourself. You will have your chance to be happy again. Maybe by then the creeps will learn how to treat you with respect and appreciation.

    • Posted By: Wolfin @ 09/06/2008 8:17:46 AM

I believe older women aren't voting for Obama because our experiences with men has given us the wisdom to recognize easily identify men full of "bulls*@&". And Obama is so full of bulls*@&", he's about ready to explode.

Sarah Palin is a woman of many capabilities. Hunting, fishing and 'brandishing' an assault rifle is a choice that men and women are allowed to make. Hunting was the only means of collecting food many years ago. And I guarantee you that avid hunters use the meat from animals as a source of daily food, especially in Alaska. Would it be an issue if a man had the skin & head of a grizzly bear in his picture? Don't let reverse discrimination be your undoing Patti Davis. Are you disappointed that Sarah Palin has had more experience and responsibilities than Barack Obama has? Would you still feel this way (and write this article) if the tables were turned and it was Hillary doing all these things?
America needs to wake up and recognize women are humans with ALL the same rights as men!
Mind you, I'd much rather have Hillary as President over Obama. And I saw the emotional news clip where Hillary wept briefly. I felt she was sincere. But Hillary's silence may be because she is totally pissed off that she is not a VP running mate. And maybe it's an admirable quality that she doesn't rub it in Obama's face that he didn't pick her. All politicians have skeletons in the closet. However, correct me if I am wrong but it is Obama that selected a Washington insider to watch his back whereas McCain went outside the box. Regardless of party affiliation, I question Obama's patriotism. McCain's patriotism is without question.

I couldn't have said it better. I couldn't believe that Obama didn't even consider Hillary for VP. She got the most votes in the history of primaries. It is one thing to beat your opponent, but should Hillary have been so insulted by Obama. Unbelievable.
