ROFL... got2bu? Shoot... any of you zapping these profound and serious opinions here? Some of us were taught: "Consider the source" and so I considered Patti Davis (Reagan), and wow... googling her is an.. er... eye-popper. Literally.

I suggest you go to "images" in google, and enter our fair columnist???s name... Patti Davis... and then just the one word: Playboy.

The Playboy photo of her is on their front cover and... er... clearly illustrates Patti's liberal views about sex, color, free love, modesty, and ... weel, you???ll get the picture! Or, maybe you'd rather not get it?

Patti with her mediocre, simplistic writing skills, would, I think, be an embarrassment to Hillary Clinton and also Obama... not because Patti is still supporting H.C., but because she is actually rather an embarrassing person just to have as an acquaintance. What one would tend to forgive because of ... well we cannot say ???youth??? (she was 41 years old when she posed for Playboy) becomes something of a drag in a 55-year-old Golden Gurl.

It's enough to turn a person into a... (let me whisper the word...) conservative!

Everbody sure seemed worried over a woman who is supposed to be a nobody. As well as they should as the more folks hear about her the more she is liked and respected. So far one news reporter apologised for being dismissive of Palin at the start. And I predict that Palin will continue to defy her critics.

Can you see Palin rolling over and letting the DNC & Obama walk all over her? Not in a million years for she would have gone all the way to argue why big states & primaries matter more than little bitty states and caucuses. Either the DNC listened to her respectfully or be destroyed. Now that is what it means to be tough - standing up and fighting for what is rightfully yours.

As far as I can see Hillary days are over cause an Obam loss in 2008 will mean a stronger Palin in 2012. A win for Obama means nothing for Hillary and in 2012 Palin can possibly win the Republican nomination and challenge Obama. So all this hand wringing cannot undo the grave injustice done to Hillary. So I would say to all these women stick it to the DNC and elect an honorable man - John McCain.

Hahaha! yeah thats what I'm saying! I donated to and campaigned for Hillary, but I am not feeling an Obama-Biden ticket. I dont think Obama is qualified to assume the presidency at this point in time even although I think he is talented. I think he should have been running in the VP slot for the democrats.

  • Posted By: old91A10 @ 09/07/2008 12:32:47 AM

Over at Politico [ http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0908/13193.html ] they're thinking Senator Clinton is set to attack Senator McCain.

No one believes zerObama and gliBiden have the right stuff. Thanks DNC.

What else could I expect after 'impeachment off the table' through to the 'fisa immunity vote' -- and the primary rigging, racism, and misogyny -- and holding off on a reasonable energy plan for what will be another year.

Duplicitous creeps! The party is over, and I will be voting. I'm calling dibs on my single vote being the one that cancels out both Obama's and Biden's. Who's calling for Pelosi, Reid, Hoyer, Dean, Axelrod, etc.

  • Posted By: Flash Drive @ 09/07/2008 12:28:27 AM

Obama has now been replaced by a new 'Rock Star' . It's a pity he or his clonies, Kerry,Richardson,Edwards,Dean, Pelosi,Kennedy and Reid did not have the foesight of the McCain camp. The Republicans have seen who Hillary has been cheated in the primaries, and have 'turned' the game against the DNC by selecting a woman VP.
The injustice done against Hillary by the Super Delegates has not gone un-noticed by her supporters. It is pay back time.

Palin's Hockey Rink Leads to Legal Trouble and a Big Mess to this Day!!!

The biggest project that Sarah Palin undertook as mayor of this small town was an indoor sports complex, where locals played hockey, soccer, and basketball, especially during the long, dark Alaskan winters.

The only catch was that the city began building roads and installing utilities for the project before it had unchallenged title to the land. The misstep led to years of litigation and at least $1.3 million in extra costs for a small municipality with a small budget. What was to be Ms. Palin's legacy has turned into a financial mess that continues to plague Wasilla.

"It's too bad that the city of Wasilla didn't do their homework and secure the land before they began construction," said Kathy Wells, a longtime activist here. "She was not your ceremonial mayor; she was in charge of running the city. So it was her job to make sure things were done correctly."

    • Posted By: Eagles_Heart @ 09/07/2008 12:01:34 AM

You say that a multi-million dollar Alaskan construction project was halted because the correct permits had not been obtained? And so it was the new governor's fault? That is, Palin???s? Give me a break.

And you wonder why Gov. Palin made such a clean sweep of the individuals who supplied her, the new governor, with the dumb-head information as she began reviewing performances in general?

She hadn't hired those bozos. Put the Blame on the Mames who didn't have the brains to get the paperwork done before starting the project. It is sooo simplistic to think she is to act as the general contractor, the accountant, the inspectors, the bookkeepers, the secretaries, the file and permit processors, ad infinitum who are changed with giving her accurate information.

Sometimes I just cannot believe people who post here, totally uninformed, totally naive about the facts, procedures, and issues, and they come off the wall with as if they would.. shoot COULD ... have done all those tasks themselves in the same position.

The governor is the CEO; she didn't hire the staff. And the ones implementing the project are the one who let anything like that fall through the cracks.

What an elastic mind you have; but watch it though. Elastic stretched beyond its capacity (like yours) snaps and ends up hitting you in the face!

Many Democrats who are pleading with Hillary to go on the offensive against Palin are not being true to themselves, many of them hate Hillary to the bone but now realise they cannot win the election without her .
So ironic, the DNC have shot themselves in the foot. It is time for you to 'back off' from Hillary, she is not your nominee. Hillary 2012.

  • Posted By: old91A10 @ 09/06/2008 11:49:17 PM

Are you kidding me? How much of this crap are you going to pile on Hillary & Bill's shoulders? What's the matter, aren't zerObama and gliBiden able to do their own fighting?

Eighteen million people tried to tell you so. Choke on it!

  • Posted By: nifty55 @ 09/06/2008 6:30:20 PM

Did anyone here catch Obama on the O'Reilly Factor? I only caught part of it, but here is where my candidate, Barack Obama, showed far superior intelligence in his ability to debate. On the issue of Iran, he said, "Here is where you and I agree on this issue..." and a few moments later he said "and here is what you and I do not agree on..." I think that's called Debate 101. First show what you have in common, and then move into where you disagree. Duh...all Palin did was alienate intelligent women voters.

    • Posted By: shianne55555 @ 09/06/2008 7:01:49 PM

You are asking these people to "think". It is not going to happen.

I was not always an Obama supporter. I was with Hillary initially. I switched to Barack because he was talking about change and what that means for America. I also felt HRC went over the line. As a woman, she lost me when she was referencing Rezko and Wright, totally forgetting about ALL the baggage that comes with Hillary and Bill. That turned me off. It would have been a different story if she came to the table relatively scandal free, but we all know better than that. However, her tenacity I truly admire. Hillary truly believes in her cause for the middle class and for woman's rights. Barack and Joe do as well.

McStupid, and this is what I will continue to call him and moose killer, she deserves no name other that what she represents, are trying to pull a fast one over the American people. They know all too well that there is a certain percentage of the population that is driven by hatred and ignorance. It is well represented on this blog. They are counting on mobilizing the ignorant vote. They already have the so-called evangelical vote, and the rich white dude vote. What is left, the easily mislead voter. The one who will believe an email. The one who is scared of Barack's skin color. The one who thinks if you do not love guns, you are not American.

In the end, Barack will overcome all the distractions (moose killer) and take this country by storm.

      • Posted By: LMAO @ 09/06/2008 11:38:53 PM

So you prefer to stay in ignorance of Rezlo & Rev. Wright? I am still waiting on the facts about these two individuals ...

  • Posted By: Kerriwyn @ 09/06/2008 6:46:48 PM

If Hillary comes out and speaks against Sarah Palin she will lose a LARGE block of her supporters. That's a fact. I hope she stays away from the whole thing. She needs to stop campaigning for Obama. Seriously, PUMAs do NOT want to hear this crap.
This election is no longer about policy...it's about procedure. Obama is corrupt and so's the party that pushed him on to us. That's why Mccain chose Sarah, they were listening to us. Now, you can say, why so much support? Just beacuse of a vagina? And the answer is too complex to put here. Suffice it to say that many Hillary supporters are quite pleased that the republicans put up a woman. Itshows respect. If Hillary, or anyone else, comes out against her there will be MAJOR back-lash. So, sorry Newsweek, you're quite wrong. Obama and his crappy camp might want Senator Clinton to do some more work for them but those who support Senator Clinton will consider any more efforts from her on his behalf to be personal attacks. She's done enough for you all, let her get back to doing what she needs to for her state.

    • Posted By: Sarahh @ 09/06/2008 8:09:26 PM

And she'll start to win back a bigger group of her supporters.

The Tonya Harding Hillary wasn't the one we once admired.

      • Posted By: LMAO @ 09/06/2008 11:33:09 PM

And now you want her to play Tonya Harding to take down Palin. How silly and petty you sound ...

  • Posted By: womensrights @ 09/06/2008 6:54:45 PM

What I'd like Hillary to say is NO WOMAN should be subject to the treatment Sarah Palan and HILLARY herself received at the hands of the mainstream media and the DNC. I don't agree with Palin on a lot of things ........... but I'll vote for McCain and Palin over Obama and Biden any day of the week. Obama, who you would think I WOULD vote for, since I have always been a die hard DEM, lost my vote through his lack of core Democrat values. Talk is cheap. FISA, drilling, etc, etc. Change certainly is on the way...but not the change we think.

    • Posted By: njborne @ 09/06/2008 7:36:28 PM

When I review past elections, I review the imperfection of many talented politicians on the Democratic side. I see in Obama a man that truly loves this country and his family. I see a man that worked his way up the so-called 'Ladder of Success" and entice others to do the same. I see a man who truly brings no ill baggage to the ticket. I see a man who try to stay true to his convictions. That's the Democratic Party way. I see in McCain and Palin lies and deceptions, blatant for all to see. Yet, so many Americans refuse to see that reality. I wonder why? Never in the History of recent elections that many would Blackmail a candidate to bring someone to the ticket. Never is recent history did a candidate, in the heat of competition, continued to lavish praise to his opponent---only identifying their policy difference. After all this, people are still angry. Why? Barack spent nearly two years introducing himself to the American people, and they continue to vet him. Palin comes on the scene from no-where, and she's given the Queen's throne. Why?

      • Posted By: LMAO @ 09/06/2008 11:28:47 PM

You must exist on Mars as this man projects a veneer of respectability but is crooked to the core ... Anyone with spiritual eyes should be able to see that. Attending Rev. Wright church for 20 years is enough to disqualify this man. And I know all about Rev. Wright as I am black and have black friends. And I will be speaking for McCain/Palin ...

  • Posted By: republicans are hypocrites @ 09/06/2008 11:02:10 PM

Interesting that quite a few of the Palin defenders here are men. This woman is NOT an advocate for women and will turn back the clock on the progress women have made. The irony is that the GOP referred to her treatment as sexist....The GOP referring to anyone as sexist is like Hitler referring to someone as a racist.

    • Posted By: zyxwvut @ 09/06/2008 11:25:49 PM

Yes, it's about time that we applaud the liberals for their righteous attacks on Palin. Our nation has gone on long enough with this nonsense about working women - they are a drag on the productivity of businesses, their attention is too often split on concern for their children instead of work, and they harm business productivity by stepping out for pregnancy and family leave. The only ones with the guts to call out these farces have been the liberals - ever since Palin was announced.

The GOP are hypocrites for going along with those so called "reforms" they tried to attribute to "womens rights". Palin needs to stay at home and take care of those kids - just like the liberals are prescribing for working women. THANK YOU LIBERALS for speaking the truth!

  • Posted By: oharris30 @ 09/06/2008 8:41:42 PM

People continue talking about mccain winning the women's vote and conservative vote. You need to be worried about McCain and Palin winning the minority votes and I just don't mean the Black votes. I saw very few people at the RNC convention that mirrored the people who live, pay taxes and fight for the freedom of this country. I also don't believe that Palin's future so called son in law will influence any of these people with his proud to be a f@#@$ redneck statement. After looking at all the families of the candidates in these conventions, Obama and Biden certainly mirror the types of people we need to run this country at a time where christian values and morals have gone down the drain. You can complain about Reverend Wright all you want but Palin is not far behind him. Atleast Obama never spoke words of divisiveness and his audience is filled with the pictures of true Americans. Not John McCain. So if anybody is truly patriotic, vote Obama. Being a POW does not make you a strong patriot. I know many criminals who also fought in wars.

    • Posted By: LMAO @ 09/06/2008 11:15:37 PM

True the RNC convention was not diverse. But be truthful to yourself it was not diverse because everyone flocked to Obama based on his skin color or the promise that somehow he can help them (or family) continue to break the law by coming to the US illegally. Now who are the racists? What I saw of the RNC convention was a united bunch who was down to earth and did not feel the need to have a shin dig at Mile High. That is I saw sincerity and concern - those folks were real. Whilstthe Democrats were arrogant and very superficial, cocky to imagine thatthey can solve the USA problems because they are smartest ones in the room.

I am black but I am spiritual enough to look beyond skin color and see goodness. A man who attends a racist and divisive church cannot have good Christian values. And worst he exposed his kids to that drivel. Even more disconcerting are the stuff that Rev. Wright and him would have shared outside of church when the cameras are off and they are one on one. Recall this Rev. Wright was his mentor. So on that basis this is a man not fit for the Presidency. And what about his crooked dealings? his non-accomplishments; his arrogance; cheating Hillary ... Please give me a break.

Give me a Gov. Palin who heart is in th eright place anyday. God will inspire these receptive sould to lead us right.

by the way she didn't sell the plane on ebay, she didn't build a 40 millon dollar pipeline ( won't be started for years) and she kept the money from the Bridge to Nowhere ( she was for it before she voted against it) This woman is truely the Anti-hiliary!! I feel that an october surprise may be coming for this pitbull in lipstick !!!

    • Posted By: zyxwvut @ 09/06/2008 11:05:26 PM

If only Senator Obama had any accomplishments to try and criticize. Unfortunately, he doesn't. Neither does Biden, beyond the Violence Against Women Act - the only memorable thing he's pushed through in 35 years in the Senate. So, we're left to examine the record of a woman who has been the Chief Executive of a small town and a small state.

Yes, she supported the bridge initially. But, when the rubber met the road, she shut the project down. Are you unhappy about that decision?

She did indeed list the jet on eBay. Eventually, it sold to someone through a different channel. Are you unhappy that she sold off an asset she viewed as wasteful for the government budget?

Here's a suggestion - list three big accomplishments Senator Obama has during his time in public service. Then let others have a chance to critique them. Of course, the challenge for you will be to list 3 things that actually happened, actually matter to anyone of consequence, and actually can be attributed to Obama's leadership. But, it would be interesting to see you try.....

I think that turning to Hilliary was my first choice in the primary election, but since, the Democrats clearly squashed that hope when they push Obama out in front of Hilliary I have gone to the Republicans, I am scared of a candidate that has used 339 million dollars to run a campaign and he has a short resume to boot. He talks about change but then he chooses a partner than has been inside for over 30 years. It was a slap in face and to all woman that Obama ego to obtain the light of 1st Black President wouldn't choose to overshadow that by choosing Hilliary. WHO is behind Obama, what big interest are in his pockets. Frankly I like Palin and think despite all the crap it seems a woman has to go through to breathe the same air and space as their male couterparts in Washington, I hope she stays the course. Go McCain/Palin!

    • Posted By: JustAThough2008 @ 09/06/2008 6:10:03 PM

Then you are saying you supported HRC only because she was a woman and not because of what she stood for? That does not seem reasonable or thoughtful to me. Obama's support is from the bottom up and he collected that money in fives, tens and twenties from the young people in our country. He is still $90 mil behind McCain. I got behind Obama because Hillary lost fair and square.

      • Posted By: mmlucas @ 09/06/2008 10:19:46 PM

Do you honestly believe he one fair a square? The states that used a caucus to select candidate is like voting in old Soviet Union. Ten Percent or less of tthe total voting population makes the decision for the rest of prople in their state. What you just need are some monkeys or pupupies who you con to believe this guy is the Savior to control the meeting. I'm surprise the rest of people in these states went along wiht the choise. Well at Least 18 million + voters for Hilalry who should be representing the Democrats. By the way my wife and I will be voting for McCain for President and a qualified experience Democratic women Congress. Finally,, Obama is a neophyte who deserves and hopefully will lose. Unfortually, Joe Biden who we love and respect will be caught in the cross hairs.

      • Posted By: nifty55 @ 09/06/2008 7:08:44 PM

Obama also collected his campaign money from the grannies like me in 5 and 10 dollar contributions, that hold low paying jobs and are worried about a future where those of us getting closer to retirement age are told repeatedly how unpatriotic we are for looking forward to retirement.

  • Posted By: USDABEEF1 @ 09/06/2008 10:19:06 PM

Why the hell aren't we a country that is smart enough to put the right people in in office? Why can't the two parties realize that the best man for the vice president's position is a woman, but it is a woman that deserves it based on experience and intelligence. Hillary should have dumped the Democratic party that was not there for her and taken the repubican position - why are we doing this to our selves?

  • Posted By: hcsupporter @ 09/06/2008 10:13:06 PM

Thank you, Patti Davis! Why should we respect a sarcastic, vindictive woman who thinks it's funny to be dismissive of community organizing and other noble endeavors?

  • Posted By: enlightened-1 @ 09/06/2008 10:05:26 PM

I was a Hillary supporter, a Democrat. I did not find Sarah Palin's speech snippy in the least. I think she did a wonderful job. Just because she pointed out Obama's non-accomplishments, that doesn't make her snippy. Some people are still idolizing the man...it's time to wake up and realize this isn't Woodstock! For the first time in my life, I plan to vote Republican. Obama doesn't have a clue.....

Interesting article/letter. I don't think that most people in the country feel the way you do, but it was well written. I myself disagree with your opinion about Sarah Palin. I see someone whose hands are more clean than most politicians. I also see someone who has small town roots and has a different perspective of what our country can be. As far as the "barbs" go, show me a politician who "can cast the first stone."
