So... Patti hates conservative women.... which makes her article really worthless and kind of funny considering all the nasty things Hillary, Billy and her crew said about BO ....... Patty --- Hillary is a LOSER, first she was embarrass on the National stage by her husband.... and now by BO....... ?????????.. I guess Liberal women like it when men embarrass them??????!!

The feminist movement is no more representative of all women as the NAACP is representative of of all blacks. They have been exposed for the ultra liberal organizations they truly are. It would be a lot of fun to see a JC Watts/Sarah Palin ticket; the Steinem's and Sharpton's of the world would bloviate themselves right out of existence.

I have been a democrat all my life but not anymore. I am voting McCain/Palin because I see in he republicans that I don't see in the democrats. On the other hand, why did Hillary endorse Obama after she got cheated by the DNC on her delegates and doublecrossed by the superdelegates. And you woman are voting for Obama knowing what happened to Hillary. He didn't even choose her for his running mate. If I was Hillary I would tell him I busing trying to get my own debt paid and forget about Obama. Hillary is smart but not as smart as Palin. Do you think Palin would let the DNC do that to her? Absolutely not. Palin means what she says and says what she means. That's the way Hillary should have been. I can't wait to hear the debate between Biden and Palin. I am sure she is going to walk all over him.

If Hillary comes out and speaks against Sarah Palin she will lose a LARGE block of her supporters. That's a fact. I hope she stays away from the whole thing. She needs to stop campaigning for Obama. Seriously, PUMAs do NOT want to hear this crap.
This election is no longer about policy...it's about procedure. Obama is corrupt and so's the party that pushed him on to us. That's why Mccain chose Sarah, they were listening to us. Now, you can say, why so much support? Just beacuse of a vagina? And the answer is too complex to put here. Suffice it to say that many Hillary supporters are quite pleased that the republicans put up a woman. Itshows respect. If Hillary, or anyone else, comes out against her there will be MAJOR back-lash. So, sorry Newsweek, you're quite wrong. Obama and his crappy camp might want Senator Clinton to do some more work for them but those who support Senator Clinton will consider any more efforts from her on his behalf to be personal attacks. She's done enough for you all, let her get back to doing what she needs to for her state.

News Week was the first to start saying Hillary should drop out, even before January. Why now are they all screaming for her to save Obama. If Obama cannot get elected on his own merits, why should Hillary be held responsible. If the people are so receptive to Hillary, why isn't she the nominee?

"Few of us if any"?!? WTF? Many women are encouraged by this candidacy. She is not a liberal Democrat who likes to murder unborn children in the womb - so we understand that some women will not support her. But MANY women....and many men.....WILL.

  • Posted By: bk1234 @ 09/06/2008 9:36:24 PM

WOW. As a woman who supported Hillary , I feel that the Hillary would have been a much better president than either candiate. That being said, that is not how it worked out. It is amazing to me however in reading these comments how caddy and ignorant they are. Palin is a smart, talented and GET THINGS DONE type of canidate. Is she ready to be president if something were to happen to McCain. I don't know. But here are some things to consider - WOMEN
1 - Did anyone think to consider that she had to come off as a "pitbull" or they would have called her not tough enough - especially with no national track record? Did we forget that women have to be perceived tougher than our male counterparts - especially in this role.
2- It amazing how women are much quicker to be vicious and hold grudges. Look you don't have to vote for McCain /Palin or agree with the policies. I see this alot in corporate america - senior executive women won't "work" with other women. Many men fight hard but look at it as a game and when the arguement is over they let it go.

For those of you that think Obama is a great solution - he is not. He has not delivered anything. He talks the talk but does not walk the walk.

Sarah Palin IS unqualified to be president...which is why she's running for vice-president. Picking the right candidate for any office is important no matter their gender. So how, in any stretch of your imagination, is a candidate with LESS executive experience than Sarah Palin qualified to be the next democratic president of the United States?

PS - The Supreme Court and individual states, NOT the president or vice-president, decide whether or not any individual has reproductive rights, the Federal Reserve chairman and a capitalist society are responsible for the state of the economy, Congress makes laws NOT the president, and 75% of ALL congresspeople vote for the standing president over the course of their service.

If Obama wins Hillary has to wait till 2016 to start her campaign again. If he looses then she can run in 2012. But the fact is McCain is going to win. This means Palin will run in 2016 and it will be impossible for Hillary to campaign against Palin who will have gained respect and experience. So Hillary does not have much choice. She could run for governor in NY State but she will be running against another black man. The best for her is to help Senate candidates and try to kick Harry Reid.

But what a day that would be for the US...TWO strong women vying for the Presidency of one of the worlds super powers!

      • Posted By: hkmcs @ 09/06/2008 9:22:30 PM

Hear, Hear! It would be a glorious day to see Clinton vs. Palin! And there wouldn't be the mention of playing the race card or sex card! And dmcs, you think Senator McCain as president wouldn't get anything done because of the democratic majority in Congress and Senate? Have you forgotten that Senator McCain was able to work with Senator Kennedy and other Democratic senators for a compromise in bills? I'm sure President McCain would be able to do the same, just like President Clinton did.

    • Posted By: dma628 @ 09/06/2008 12:07:56 PM

If McCain wins I can not see anything getting done with a controlled senate/congress. I think Sarah Palin is a big fish in little sea and if she gets to Washington the pit bull will have to take off her lipstick off because she is going to get eaten alive! She has no clue she is being used. She was only put on the ticket to appease the wacko right wing Christians, you know the ones that Pray for rain!

Republicans posting on this article fail to state that the mess we are in: economically and around the world is the result of the policies that the McCain and the Republican Party want to peruse. In spite of all the window dressing the policies are the same, why should we expect anything different. According to fact check.org Obama???s policies would decrease taxes for those under 250k a year,
The reason the deal isn???t closed is the Republicans are running a Roven campaign which is dishonest at its core. The target of the campaign is the most vulnerable of us ... the less educated. In other words, they lie allot to make it so... and to get people to vote against their best interest.
The words written here are good ones,
When McCain picked Palian he chose his politcal carrier over country, There were many more qualified. He chose what would do him good not what was best for us. She would be a disaster if she needed to assume the presidency any time soon. This alone should disqualify him from the presidency

All of this Hillary would've/could've makes no difference. She was not selected. The man that was selected decided not to even look at her for his # 2 spot. Saying HRC would've/should've/coulkd've is ;ile saying what you would have done with all the money if you won lottery. Until you do it doesn't matter. Time to move on and live with it. Remember all you closet Repbul's out there. no one will ever know who you voted for.

That is why my wife and I will vote for McCain.. Obama is a neophyte who will destroy this countrry. In fact because he so inexperience he will be an extension of Bush and you know what he did. Our ballot selection will be split. McCain for President and an excellent experienced and qualified Democratic congresswomen. By the way we are both Independents.

McCain has acknowledged voting with President Bush 90 percent of the time in Congress, Obama said.

"And suddenly he's the change agent? Ha. He says, 'I'm going to tell those lobbyists that their days of running Washington are over.' Who is he going to tell? Is he going to tell his campaign chairman, who's one of the biggest corporate lobbyists in Washington? Is he going to tell his campaign manager, who was one of the biggest corporate lobbyists in Washington?"

"I mean, come on, they must think you're stupid," Obama said as the crowd laughed and cheered

What a pathetic plea for Hillary from this loser. Hillary would be stupid to fall for this transparent artifice. I was a strong Hillary supporter and contributed mightily to her campaign and it kills me to see this publication that endlessly trashed Hillary, these same women who destroyed one of their own, now whine and yearn for Hillary's support. This, after Obama didn't even vet Hillary. Wow, the gall of it! I am stunned.

Well, at least from Davis' point of view, looks like Senator Obama DOES need Senator Clinton's assistance. Did you read the article correctly?

      • Posted By: LMAO @ 09/06/2008 9:36:10 AM

So now Obama should not need Hillary to make his case to the people? That is the role of Biden.

We can argue that McCain do not need Palin to govern. However he was astute enough to realize rhat folks were tired of the same old Ivy League types who talk down to poor folks and actually do not even know their issues. That is why he picked Palin - a fine example of a "blue" collar type that did not sit and wait hoping that change would happen but got up and made it happen. Those are the folks we need in Washington ... let us go back to the pioneering spirit that made America strong.

So who made a better choice to best succeed in tackling the issues of the day? Who can best move the people to become active in the decisions that affect them? No contest here McCain/Palin 2008.

Oh PLEASE! Give the world a break! Hilliary is so over. Get over and get on with it! "Zingers" were invented by the Democrats and so was rudeness, sarcasm and 'snarkiness' . Have you all forgotten the Clinton years and all the speeches that were made? How about the attacks on others ability to lead? I am sick and tired of all this crazy stuff. Keep to the issues that relate to governing the country and not these personal attacks.

    No one cared

Are you quoting the same economists who got us into the mortgage mess we are in now?  Figures.  By the way copying quotes from the WSJ to justify your position is pretty biased considering it's one of the most conservative news sources.  McSame offers more of the same.  If you are better off today than you were 8 years ago by all means vote for McCain.  Note while you you're doing your calculations take account for our inflation levels which with the price of gas and other commodities has gone through the roof while our 401Ks sink into an abyss.  Real change is comming but only with OBAMA/BIDEN come Nov.

I find it amazing to read the back and forth comparisons between Hillary and Palin. Hillary knew what she was getting into when she entered the race- she's tough and tenacious, and like all male politicians before her that have lost a politcal race she will get back up, dust herself off and try again, whether it's in 2012 or 2016. That's the risk you take when you are aiming to break any ceiling above you. To say that you are voting for either candidate based soley upon Hillary's loss in the primary is short sighted and ignorant. I would hope that you care more about the outcome of our country than that.
Palin is intriguing as a candidate, but we were only introduced to her ONE WEEK AGO! Do you think that either position- president or vice-president- might be important enough to warrant more than a cursory week of scrutiny before you throw your support behind them? We've certainly applied more time to Obama, McCain and Biden! Maybe we should all try to remember to focus on the important issues at stake as opposed to the rhetoric given by both parties and base our decisions on that, as opposed to pretty speech making on either side!
By the way, for those of you offended by the way Palin has been treated in the last week, maybe you should jog your memory a little...

I agree with you on the part about Senator Clinton. I truly believe in her and her will and strength to finally win the presidency. As for Senator Obama - it's true that we had heard about his campaign since about a year ago, but what do we truly know about him? His record in the Senate? That doesn't say much. The policies he proposed are just that - proposed. Leaders change their minds all the time, and then come up with more that are completely unexpected. What did Senator Obama actually do that made a difference in the country, or even in Chicago? Now that such a candidate is running for the presidency, I think it's all game for the Republican party. Senator Palin is able to present accomplishments that are actually achieved by her, and that's what counts. Voting along party line is bullshit; tell me Americans, should you loyal to a political party, or loyal to your country and to yourself?

      • Posted By: KAkalaonu @ 09/06/2008 11:29:00 AM

What do we truly know about any of the candidates if thats the way you feel....McCain and Obama have been campaigning for close to 2 years. To say you know nothing about either one is, well, stupid. Haven't you been paying attention? McCain has propsed things, Obama has proposed things. Palin and Biden only factor in if one of the nominee's kil over. Neither one of the Veep picks have stood on their own told America what their thoughts are...they just think that their nominee has the better plan and are similiar to what they themselves may propose- if given the chance. I am so tired if hearing - "we don't know anything about him" Pay attention! Research it yourself if you need to.

        • Posted By: hkmcs @ 09/06/2008 8:58:54 PM

My point is "talk is cheap". All that the candidates have done during campaigning is proposing policies, but that doesn't carry any weight. However, we have seen Senator McCain in action, we have seen Senator Biden in action, we have even seen Governor Palin in action for a little bit - but not Senator Obama. Senaor Obama didn't really do anything that had helped this country much, apart from *saying* he opposes the war. How do we know what he says is actually what he represents? How do we trust that we can take his words at face value?

      • Posted By: HarPikada @ 09/06/2008 5:07:59 AM

You said it. Country First from me - a former Hillary supporter. An independent and a centrist.

Did you support ANY of Hillary's policies, or just her because of gender?
If you supported her policies, then voting for McSame/Palin goes against everything she stands for.

Think about abortion rights, health care, economy... and please get a clue!
