Palin wrote an official letter of reference as the Mayor of Wasilla for Mike Wooten so he would get his trooper job. Technically, I guess you might say that she got him hired, and now wants him fired. I copied this letter from a site that was scrubbed the next day. If Wooten is the slime ball that she is portraying now, then she lied on her letter of recommend. Either way, she exhibited a family FAVOR for her sister by using her mayor's position to help get Wooten the job. He judgment is lacking. If you want a copy of the letter, just email me at oregondreamchaser@yahoo.com and I will send you a copy. It is complete with Sarah's signature and state seal.

She seems to epitomize the essence of what's bad in Washington -- far from being a change from the same ol same ol, she has taken unethical behavior to a new level. By all accounts she is vindictive and mean, too. What we need in Washington is not just someone who has integrity but someone who has grace, as well. We really really need Obama.

Sarah Palin wrote a letter of reference to get Wooten his trooper job. She wrote a full page of wonderful comlimentary things about him that were either lies, or terrible lack of judgment on her part. This letter is on her official mayoral letterhead, complete with state seal. The URL where I copied it from was scrubbed 4 days ago, and so I am offering to send a copy to anyone who wants to read it. email for a copy.. oregondreamchaser@yahoo.com.

Why is Todd Palin in and out the Governor's office so much. When I read these stories he is always in the mix.. Does he have a job in the State office or does he just hang out there? Why would be involved at all in State business?

Palin clearly wasn't vetted properly. The republicans should not be allowed to stall or stop yet another investigation into possible wrong-doing. The investigation needs to be completed. If she did nothing wrong, there won't be a problem. If she did something she shouldn't have done, then she shouldn't be VP. Period.

This is yet another case of obstruction of justice. McCain's allies have no business meddling in Alaskan state politics just to protect Sarah Palin. And besids....if Sarah Palin has nothing to hide and nothing to worry about, why all the frantic, desperate effort to stop the legislative investigation?? No one works this hard, with this many people getting involved and getting to witnesses, unless they are afraid something damning will be found during the investigation. As my Daddy use to say, "when you throw a rock into a pack of dogs, the one that gets hit squeals the loudest."

The Domestic Violence Offender Gun Ban is federal criminal law which the Alaska State Public Safety Commissioner had no discretion in not enforcing. If the State Trooper had a protective order issued against him, the State Public Safety Commissioner should have terminated the State Trooper without being asked by anybody. It is a felony to violate the federal Domestic Violence Offender Gun Ban. News reports state that the estranged spouse filed for divorce and a domestic violence protective order on April 11 2005 against the State Trooper. Protective orders are customarily issued. If a protective order was issued, the federal criminal statute Domestic Violence Offender Gun Ban should resolve all of the current controversy surrounding any inappropriate contacts between the Governors office and the State Public Safety Commissioner. If a protective order was issued, the State Public Safety Commissioner is clearly way out on a limb on the wrong side of the law in this matter. It would take one call to the court to find out if a protective order was issued and that would have been enough for the Public Safety Director to act.

Fair. The GOP,as with the Democrats ,in the Gonzales and Libby investigations, should demand an independant counsel to get to the bottom of this. Neither a GOP nor a Democrat political figure should be considered. I would nominate Patrick Fitzgerald again, but this man is busy at the moment, getting to the bottom of another mess in Chicago known as ''BOARD GAMES'',which has completed its first of four trials based on the actions of Rezko and his associates, the documents of which include an interesting insertion of the words ''political contact''. Who is this person? We do not know,at this time. What has Tony Rezko, for some reason as yet unknown, making his eleventh trip to the courthouse to meet with federal investigators from Fitzgeralds office? The race is now on.

Troopergate versus BOARD GAMES.... [ If Obama supporters can convey with certainty that he was not involved in the REZMAR moneylaundering and teachers union pension fund ripoff schemes, then they must act as confident that they know nothing of Palins impetus in firing this trooper, other than what we already know, which is damned little].

There is no language in the federal criminal statute Domestic Violence Offender Gun Ban that states or provides that Alaskan State Troopers are exempt from its provisions. Anyone including State Troopers are guilty of a federal felony punishable by five years in prison and a $100,000 fine for simple mere possession of a firearm if they are subject to an ordinary protective order for domestic violence. Importantly the reports state that the estranged spouse filed for divorce and a domestic violence protective order on April 11, 2005 against the State Trooper. It has not been reported whether a protective order was issued but in most cases protective orders are customarily issued. Under new federal law, anyone subject to a protective order or convicted of misdemeanor domestic assault or felony assault is subject to a ban on possession or use of a handgun for a minimum of five years or at least to the end of the protective order. Some have argued that the ban is forever even after the protective order expires. The Domestic Violence Offender Gun Ban is a federal law that applies to everyone including police officers and servicemen and servicewoman. Anyone in the military is subject to a discharge if a protective order is issued against them. It is a felony to violate the federal law Domestic Violence Offender Gun Ban and the penalty is five years in prison. Every day that the trooper wore his sidearm or rode in his patrol car with a shotgun in the trunk, he was committing a felony and violating the federal law. If a protective order was issued and the trooper became subject to the order, the trooper should have been ineligible to be a State law enforcement officer and it would have been a slam dunk to terminate him. The State Police Commissioner should have been aware of this law and should have terminated the brother-in-law without being asked. The State Public Safety Commissioner failure to uphold the federal law should have been enough grounds for his own termination.

Why aren't people OUTRAGED about this? If Barack Obama decided to send Joe Biden back to Delware and forbid the media from speaking to him, people would get their torches and pitchforks and descend upon Obama's campaign headquarters in Chicago. The "defeaning silence" as Biden put it about this issue in the so-called "liberal media" is something any rational person should be concerned about.

Remember also in the Drew Peterson case, there were 18 eighteen separate domestic disturbance calls to the Drew Peterson residence outside Chicago. In the eighteen separate domestic disturbance calls to his home, Drew Peterson was never arrested or charged by his fellow officers with whom he worked. The only person ever charged by his fellow officers in all of the Drew Peterson domestic violence cases was his now deceased ex-wife. Any investigation into the conduct of her ex-brother-in-law trooper by his own department, the Alaska State Police and Pubic Safety Commissioner, should have been viewed with the same skepticism as the eighteen separate investigations into the conduct of Drew Peterson by his fellow officers. It clearly can be argued that the prudent course of action was for Governor Sarah Palin to intervene given the almost near universal blue wall of silence that often prevents investigation of police misconduct by their fellow officers, superiors, and even other outside law enforcement agencies. In light of the recent murders of spouses and girlfriends by police officers in other states, any alleged intervention by Governor Sarah Palin involving her ex-brother-in-law was not unethical or unreasonable, rather it was probably the more prudent course of conduct. Sarah Palin should not have had to wait until her sister disappeared before she intervened.

If Barack Obama decided to send Joe Biden home to Delaware and NOT permit him to speak to the media and vice versa, people would get their torches and pitchforks and descend upon Obama Headquarters in Chicago. The fact that there is a deafening silence as Biden put it on this issue is frightening.

There is likely no merit in the ethics complaint against Governor Sarah Palin and Sarah Palin should not have to wait until her sister disappeared before she intervened. Even if there was any merit to the complaint one could argue convincingly that it would have been prudent for her to intervene in this case given the recent publicity regarding the disappearance and death respectively of the last two wives of former and now retired police Sergeant Drew Peterson in Bollingbrook Illinois a Chicago suburb, the death of the nine-month pregnant girlfriend of convicted former police officer Bobby Cutts in Ohio, and the pending murder trial of Pennsylvania State Trooper and homicide investigator Kevin Foley for the stabbing murder of the soon to be dentist ex-husband of his live-in girlfriend that occurred two days before the effective date of the final divorce decree. Sarah Palin should not have to have waited until her sister disappeared before she intervened in the trooper case. In the Foley case, Pennsylvania Trooper Kevin Foley lived with the estranged wife of a dentist who was viciously stabbed to death and thrown through the window of his own home two years ago. Pennsylvania State Trooper Foley specialized in homicide investigations and allegedly had been quoted as repeatedly stating in a State Police barracks break room in front of other State Troopers and supervisors as wishing that the dentist ex-husband would be killed in a car wreck or would otherwise die. Reportedly, his fellow state troopers did not take his threats seriously although they told him to stop making the threats against the now deceased dentist.

I don't feel sorry for Van Flein or his clients. We did operate in a "post McCarthy era" and under more "due process guarantees - until the current administration took office. It was Bush and Cheney and Gonzales and Addington and Yoo who thew that model of justice out the window, and left us all playing by Guantanamo rules. Members of the Republican Party have no one to blame but themselves. It probably doesn't feel so good now that it's potentially happening to you, does it boys? Well, the hard rain eventually falls on everyone - even those who called it forth in the first place. You may call it politics or retribution. I call it Justice.
so good when it's happening to you, does it boys?
