Shouldn't we hold Palin to her word? She said that she has nothing to hide, and promised to cooperate with the investigation. She claimed that she wanted transparency in government, and wanted to go after dishonest public officials. Now she is refusing to cooperate, hired an attorney (paid by the taxpayers of Alaska) to stonewall this investigation, and prevent those people who elected her, to find out whether or not she has violated the law. Obviously, she knows that this "Troopergate" scandal will end her VP nomination.
Palin has everything to lose and nothing to gain by cooperating fully with investigators. Even "All of McCain's horses and all of McCain's men, couldn't put Humpty PALIN together again". Sorry, but Sarah will be "Toast' after this charade and her abuse of power is exposed. Nice selection for VP, John, you picked a Jerry Springer guest to be the 2nd most powerful person in the world.

Remind yourselves of McCain's lies and flip-flops. Youtube is awesome. Remember he has been in Washington 26 years - there is a lot to remember about him.

Was Todd Palin the co-Governor of Alaska? Why was he involved in any of this? If Ms. Palin should become the VP, will she be consulting with Todd? The McCain campaign's actions in this matter only prove that a McCain/Palin administration will be more of the same. Has she started claiming executive privilege yet?

      Actually, I think she has.

First Gov. Palin says she is cooperating with the investigation. Then she hires a lawyer to delay the probe. Now they are trying to kill it altogether.
This is beginning to smell like a typical Bush/Rove cover-up.

I grow angrier and angrier by the day when I think about the lies spewing from the mouths of republicans. They either think we are completely apathetic, or just plain dumb. People please don't let them get away with this crap. Ladies, don't fall for the "she's just like me" trap. As women, we all look to identify with someone, but all mothers identify with mothers. But this, this is not about identifying as women and mothers. This is about the future of our country and our children, and the integrity and reputation of this great country. It is too important to make a decision based on personality. The republicans haveno submstand, no solutions. Nothing good will come of a McCain/Palin administration. Don't gamble yours and your childrens' futures on a woman who sounded good reading someone else's words. Remember, she said herself, she doesn't pay attention to Iraq. Don't fall for it.

If folks didn't think McCain was more of the same before this, then I'm not sure what would convince them besides Jesus coming in with the Screen of all Knowledge and showing them in action. No, that probably wouldn't work either. Jesus would have to implant the memory. No, it's simply hopeless. People will believe what they want to believe.

These people are dispicable. I grow angrier and angrier by the day at how the republicans seem to think that american citizents are either completely apathetic, or just plain stupid, that we cannot see them for the liar and theives they really are. People, please don't let them get away with this. Ladies, please don't fall for the "she's just like me" crap. All women identify with other mothers. But, this is not about identifying with other mothers. This is about the reputation of our great country. Nothing will change for the better if McCain/Palin are put in office.

This is a rather inauspicious beginning for the woman claiming to have rooted out corruption in her state. Each day there are new facts to indicate that the Palin we've been sold is not quite as advertised. I mean, the blatant lies in her speech to this ongoing saga. I blame McCain because had he properly vetted her, this wouldn't be an issue. If she's done nothing wrong then allow the proble to continue. Each day, McCain proves that he is more and more like Bush and Cheney.

Here we go again...................... only this time with a dash of soap opera! Dear Lord, I'm tired of this kind of garbage. I can't say much for McCain's judgement in his hasty and cynical VP choice! He got squirreled out of the person he wanted (Lieberman), and this is what he came up with! Looks like "Maverick" really means "Rash and Foolhardy" This situation is a total affront to all serious citizens. Leave us alone, John McCain!

The Republicans are very corrupt. This investigation proves that they are worse than thugs or the mob. This Palin woman is very scary indeed. She needs to remain in Alaska. America cannot afford a pit bull near the White House.

I am totally dumbfounded as to how someone who may possibly have done something totally unethical can be so protected, just because she is running for VP. The Democrats must fight back. No more MR. NICE GUY OBAMA....Unfortunately, if you want to win this election, you are going to have to FIGHT FOR THE WHITE HOUSE. JOE BIDEN WHERE ARE YOU?

Clearly, the Palins were out to skewer this guy (Mike Wooten). BUT they didn't have a clue what legal grounds were required (timely documentation of allegations). SO they tried to use heavy-handed pressure from the office of Governor to get to him, just as they had successfully achieved the dismissal of various Wasilla civil servants on an ideological whim.
Unfortunately for the Palins, civil service employees do not serve at the whim af the governor. Due process is required for their removal. This is just a little hedge protecting the professionalism and objectivity of law enforcement. Insofar as they pressured for his dismissal without grounds, they overstepped the law.

No more coverups, PLEASE. We must hold persons who aspire to high office ACCOUNTABLE FOR THEIR ACTIONS - no more WHITEWASHING of indiscretions committed while IN POLITICAL OFFICE!
Our beloved American cannot endure four more years like the last eight years.

And this is McCain's idea of being a change agent? Apparently, he and his running mate want to do to Alaska what George W. Bush has done to Washington over the past eight years.

    Enough!

I completely agree. This is so typical of the Republicans. If recent American political history has taught us anything, it's taught us that the Republicans are expert at bullying their way into office and playing dirty in order to stay in power. Where are the Democrats on this? I mean, really? Why isn't Obama's team responding? Why isn't the Democratic Congress raising hell? Again, history repeats itself. Republicans get away with this nonsense because the Democrats are too incompetent and lily-livered to do anything about it. We'll never win the election under these circumstances. Year 2000 all over again.

I guess we can hope that people will notice the resemblance to the last 8 years...
