By all accounts I've seen, Palin is cooperating fully in the investigation; I have seen nothing by anyone suggesting otherwise. The fact that people around her are protesting various aspects of the investigation is unrelated to her cooperation and, given the very visibly biased and, by his own acknowledgement, improper behavior by French, only proper.

I would also like to draw attention to a comment by K.Connell in the comments section:

"There are many of us who will not sit idly by while Sarah Palin is pilloried yet again."

That "yet again" highlights the tremendous favor that the media has done for Gov. Palin; by enthusiastically jumping on every rumor about her, no matter how disgusting and easily falsifiable (e.g., her supposed membership in the AIP), the members of the media have so discredited themselves that any negative story about her, regardless of its accuracy, is going to be dismissed out of hand by a large swath of the population.

One would think that the lesson of a phrase such as "don't go off half-cocked," originating as it did with the flintlock pistol, would have been learned by now. From the actions of the media, liberal bloggers, and others this week, it is apparent that it has not.

      FennGibbon,
Then, why doesn't she go on TV with the media to dispel all these rumors. As far as I am concern the information that I have gotten from the media seem to be credible. Thats the media job to investigate and report it finding.. What reported information have the media reported thats lies????

  • Posted By: orionspop @ 09/07/2008 9:11:09 PM

She has said she wants to be held "accountable". Is getting rid of the chair of the investigation consistent with that philosophy?

This is what POWs say about McCain. In their own words.

Amazing! This is small potatoes compared to the Obama associations and lingering questions, which the left wing media just do not talk about for the most part...all is forgiven and forgotten...amazing! I shake my head in utter amazement. You people have lost your minds...completely.

Some of History's greatest thinkers and leaders that were open to and willing to see all sides of life. Living in a one dimensional world doesn't do much to bring wisdom & humility to an individual. I'll take my chances with Obama's diversity than 8 more years of the current regime's failure.

I watched the Sunday news show and noted the general disdain by the ABC Roundtable regarding John McCain statements regarding Governor Sarah Palin foreign policy credentials as a Governor of Alaska. Everyone thought that comment was funny and there was no basis to support it. How does ABC news reconcile that position with Governor Rick Perry of Texas standing up to President George Bush and the World Court opposition to the execution of Mexican nationals who did not have an opportunity to see their Mexican consul. Governor Rick Perry and the State of Texas ignored Bush and the World Court and went ahead and executed the Mexican national convicted of capital murder. In so doing the Governor of Texas conducted an amazing foreign policy that contradicted the official foreign policy of the United States. States along the Mexican border such as Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, and California have had to deal with immigration issues and relations with Mexico on a day to day basis. Those Southern governors do have foreign policy experience. ABC news reporters display their ignorance when they do not recognize the intimacy and cooperative relationships that exists between states and foreign countries along their border such as Mexico and Russia. While Washington pontificates and studies issues for decades, states are forced to come up with their own solutions in relations with neighboring countries.

JOHN MCCAIN AND HIS EXECUTIVE EXPERIENCE AS A COMMANDER . . .A LEADER . . .IN THE U.S. NAVY:

In the Spring of 1975 John S. McCain was given an opportunity to redeem his Navy career. He was first named the 2nd in Command and then on to Commanding Officer (CO)of the Navys largest Air Squadron, a massive Unit at Cecil Field in Jacksonville FLA. At Cecil Field, they trained pilots and maintained attack jets called A7s. This was McCains first measured entry into leadership.

    http://link.brightcove.com/services/link/bcpid1185143625/bctid1761979374

McCain was revered by many on the base: Testimonials

Carl M. Smith - fellow officer, Cecil Field:

John was a commander who did not attempt to tell people how to do jobs (no micro-management) . . . instead he picked PEOPLE HE HAD CONFIDENCE IN and INSPIRED them to rise to the highest level of their own ability.

Sharleen Hollenback, Navy enlistee under McCain:

    * He was a very ACCESSIBLE person
    * He was very KIND
    * He CARED ABOUT THE PEOPLE that worked in his Squadron
    * I very much ADMIRED him and felt like was part of something very important in that squadron.

Carl M. Smith - fellow officer, Cecil Field:

John would talk to the Sr. chief and KID him, given him a hard time, saying things like ???what about your behavior chief?, what about your drinking?, huh, huh, huh???? . . .which would rock them back on their heels while the rest of the crew and shop WATCHED IN FASCINATION at how McCain was interacting with their chief petty officer.

That was part of his unorthodox HANDS-ON STYLE. John was not one to cloister himself away in his office on the 2nd floor of the Squadrons airplane hanger.

Carl M. Smith - fellow officer, Cecil Field:

Instead, on a DAILY basis he would WALK THROUGH the maintenance spaces, all the functional shops on THE BASE. He would go though the engine shop, the hydraulic shop, the fuel shop, the weapons shop - every one of them. He would GO IN AND TALK TO ALL the folks in the shops.

Jim Lichtenwalter - fellow office, Cecil Field:

I just think that he did a great job of making himself understand what other peoples jobs were and what their responsibilities were. . .

In its heyday in the Vietnam era, Cecil Field was buzzing with THOUSANDS OF NAVY OFFICERS ENLISTEES, AND THEIR FAMILIES.

    J. B. Renninger, former Navy Pilot at Cecil Field:

You would have anywhere from 10 - 12 aircrafts in a pattern at any one time, doing touch and go???s
We would operate from 7am one morning thru 2am or 3 am into the NEXT morning. It was a very ACTIVE BASE then.

Cecil Field was John McCains last posting with the Naval Squadron, but one that would CARRY RELEVANCE today as HE LOOKS TO LEAD OUR COUNTRY.

Nice words, paints a picture of the guy next door that you would hope to work for. The simple facts are that if you polled most co-workers and employees about their leadership team they would have nothing but good to say about them when questioned or asked publicly. Ask the whole workplace population and tell them their input will be anonymous and oftentimes a whole different develops.
Somewhere along the line McBush went from an involved employee motivator to an angry bitter congressman that is well known for berating underlings and co-workers in public. Using public humiliation and foul languaged attacking confrontations is McBush's style nowadays. He is no statesman and will do nothing to reestablish the US in the world's eyes as a role model as in recent years..

Sharenews, McCain was a trouble maker, a clown and disobedient and finished 895 out of 900 in his class. Only reason he got away with all of that *** because his Father & Grandfather were 4 star Admirals in the Navy. He must have had thousand upon thousand demerits. The only reason he got that promotion was because of his father.. You guys are full of *** and lies. You guys got more *** in you than a cesspool.

Sarah Palen read one speech. Based on that there are those that feel she would make a great VP and if necessary POTUS. She is the only person on both tickets that most of the country had never heard of a week ago and based on reading one speech we are to believe she would be capable of leading the country when we are involved in 2 wars and our economy is in serious trouble. I have a problem with that. I need to know more about Sarah Palen. Obama, McCain and Biden began campaigning 18 months ago. They have had national debates, press conferences, appeared on numerous Sunday morning talk shows and have been grilled on thier views repeatedly by newspapers and magazines. They have been analyzed and criticized on thier positions and have had to answer the tough questions. Sarah needs to answer the same tough questions before I would even consider her to be a heart beat away from POTUS. An indication of her readiness will not only be her answers but how long before the McCain campaign allows her to even take questions

  • Posted By: Noblinders @ 09/07/2008 5:50:28 PM

Sara Palin is being pawned off as America's GREAT WHITE HOPE. Think about it you have Obama who the presss has dogged and who has been made to explain himself to the the nation for the last 19 months, and there have been some outlets such as Faux news that would have dug up his mother and asked her questions if it was possible. In contrast you have Sara new on the scene who is surrounded by a cone of silence and the mainstream press is Dead Silent.

Man America is just freaking amazing!

  • Posted By: nikz @ 09/07/2008 4:13:18 AM

IF THE RNC IS TRYING TO SHUT DOWN THIS INVESTIGATION, THERE MUST BE SOME REAL DAMNING EVIDENCE AGAINST PALIN. IF SHE HAS NOTHING TO HIDE AS SHE HAS STATED AND SHE BELIEVES IN TRANSPARENCY IN GOVERNMENT WHY NOT RELEASE THE FINDINGS. WE THE VOTERS NEED TO KNOW MORE ABOUT PALIN AND HOW SHE GOVERNS. AN ACCEPTANCE SPEECH, EATING MOOSE BURGERS AND BEING A PTA/MOM/GOV CELEBRITY IS NOT ENOUGH

    • Posted By: Doobydoo49 @ 09/07/2008 6:58:54 PM

You've got it. It's so simple and clear to people who have opened their eyes the past eight years and have taken a close look at the Administration's antics. McBush will just be more of rewarding other fat cats and the lobbyists with the deepest pockets..
McCain doesn't offer anything new, in fact he's more dangerous than recent presidential candidates. He's willing to say or do anything to get elected. His comments about country first are a laugh. If he felt that way he wouldn't be runnibg for the Presidency and he wouldn't have picked Palin as his second in command. I wonder how much McMaverick will include her on the nation's affairs. My bet is; not much. He wants to run the show and bulldozer over anyone that doesn't agree with his thinking or actions. Watch out America; there's nothing worse than a hot head with a huge ego that can't control his anger. The Russians, Iranians, North Koreans, Indians, Chinese, etc, etc aren't going to be fun to deal with and they don't play fair, who wants to trust McCain when things go bad?

According to Rezko's co-defendant Ali Ata, Karl Rove tried to intervene in REZKO's (barry's bud of 20 years and 2004 campaign finance advisor) to get the federal prosecutor fired.

The REZKO case was investigated and Barack Obama was found to have done nothing wrong...CASE CLOSED...

Now let the investigators do their jobs with the Palin Abuse and Corruption Case...and give the results of the investigation to the American people...

WE ARE AMERICANS AND WILL NOT ALLOW McCAIN TO COVER UP WHAT PLAIN DID...

Have you read Wooten's suspension letter????

    http://media.adn.com/smedia/2008/07/21/16/Wooten_suspend_letter.source.prod_affiliate.7.pdf

The CNN interview with Wooten was pathetic... oh, poor, misunderstood Wooten! Don't know about Alaska but in Indiana this man would have been FIRED for the drinking in a patrol car at least and likely prosecuted for the other infractions. Is this idiot still on the force??? I would be outraged if our Governor did NOT insist that such a trooper be fired immediately!

    • Posted By: NeverSurrender @ 09/07/2008 6:37:46 PM

The trooper and ex brother-in-law of Sarah Palin, Mike Wooten, is a four times divorced man who has a long history as a domestic abuser and alcoholic. If you have ever helped a loved one escape from an abusive husband or boyfriend, you would regard Governor Sarah Palin as a hero who was protecting her community from a dangerous situation.

Now team McCain realizes that Palin does come with baggage. They are already trying to kill a report that Palin had an extramarital affair. I believe John Edwards emphatically denied his affair up to the point where he admitted it. They are trying to fire the investigator that is trying to INVESTIGATE Palin. However Palin would NEVER try to fire Monegan for not firing her ex brother in law.

Needing Palin makes sense after cheating on his first wife with Cindy. Of course he may think conservatives do not find adultery is not as an important issue as the issue of pro life. Women and Evangelist men just could not rally behind him, but they are willing to overlook his indiscretions since he picked Palin. If it turn out that Palin also had an affair and her daughter was pregnant at 16-17 years old it will take ALL of the air out of their conservative float.

Since they want to revive Rezko let's bring back McCain's affair with Vicki the attractive lobbyist that McCain managed to successfully sweep under the rug.

So lets kill this Rezko smear so we can stand up and find out about the Republican's defibrillator. Rezko wanted Obama to work for him in 1990, Obama refused

1993 Obama took a job in 1993 with a law firm that represents developers. 1995 he works on a case between Rezko firm and his BOSS partnered (the Woodlawn Preservation and Investment Corp). He spents 32 billable hours on the project (only 5 had any to do with Rezko's company). 1995 Rezko gave money to Obama campaign, but Resko was not under investigation. In 2003 Rezko gave money again, He STILL was not under investigation. Obama asks for Rezko advise as a developer and Rezko find out there is a lot for sale next to Obama house. I could not think of a rich developer that would let a gem like that get away but that is for REZKO benefit not Obama. Rezko wife bought the lot for $625K and afterwards sold it for a total (including what he charged to Obama) of over $1 million dollars. He even charged Obama $100K+ for a plot that was ONLY appraised at $40K in Dec 2006. That is your case on Rezko. How many houses are sold under value. The doctor may have found more value in stating that he sold HIS house to a senator. That value added money can't buy. The only thing the Republican have betwen Rezko and Obama after Rezko WAS indicted was a plot of land that Obama paid $60k more than it was appraised for. After Rezko was indicted any money Rezko gave was donated to charity.

So what do the Republicans REALLY have, people that Obama KNOWS getting in trouble vs. THEMSELVES in trouble. If the Republicans succeed, this will be studied as one the best political cases of guilt by ASSOCIATION. rhetoric ever.

  • Posted By: ecg3817 @ 09/07/2008 5:05:04 PM

The Republicans have trashed America IN JUST 8 YEARS and they think we are too stupid to know it...and too stupid to do something about it...

In the White House...we have seen 8 years of lies, bullying and corruption...

AMERICANS WE HAVE THE POWER TO STOP THE REPUBLICANS....USE IT ON November 4th..VOTE AGAINST THEM...

  • Posted By: neos @ 09/07/2008 4:56:20 PM

OK, Boys and girls ??? It's quiz time!!
Of the last 5 Republican presidents - name which one(s) had budget deficits throughout their terms? (Even when Republicans held congress as well...
And for the bonus round, which one(s) actually left the federal government larger than he/they found it?

    Jeopardy theme music......

Actually the answer to both questions is all of them. So much for Republican promises of small government and fiscal responsibility. Instead of tax and spend we got borrow and spend. Expect more of the same with McCain.
And so,how did we get the money to cover the deficits and increased spending for the ever-larger government? Did we increase revenues and responsibly pay our way? No, we did not. We put it all on the ol' VISA card. Yep, we borrowed a ton of money from our bestest buddies: China and Saudi Arabia, etc. and plan to leave this enormous tab to our kids. And now we get to divert hundreds of billions of dollars a year to our bestest buddies to service the debt. Money that could have spent at home repairing our crumbling transportation infrastructure, for example. Remember the Clinton surpluses???

WHO IS THE TRUE SELF-MOTIVATED (DRIVEN) REFORMER?

Sarah Palin took on the corrupt Juneau Political Machine. . .

. . while Obama turned a blind eye to the corrupt Chicago Political Machine (CPM). He even (of course) gained new 'friends' from the CPM who helped support him in his early political years by supporting him with his campaign.

Hmmm. . . . . One doesnt have to be a brain surgeon to figure THAT one out. ; - D

        • Posted By: katvan @ 09/07/2008 2:25:20 PM

Obama took $250K in donations from Rezko the convicted felon - originally he said he got 60-80K!!! When Obama left his senate district 11 Rezko buildings (some Obama helped fund through a grant from the Woods Foundation...he sat on the board with ayers) were left in disrepair!! GET THE FACTS!!!!!!!

There really is no need to shout. You bots are getting desperate. Why? Because the same amount of people watched an unknown governor from Alaska as did the man pontificating in front of his styrofoam pillars?

Palin is the issue here...Obama has been investigated and vetted...nothing stands against him...

The GOP does not want Palin to be vetted and investigated...claims have been made against Palin and she must answer...this woman is not above the law...

I want her investigated and I want the correct results reported to America and the World...

Comment: The only people bing fooled in this election are the one's that vote for Obama. The dems always promise the world and do nothing. Look at the democratically contolled congress, they take your money to run an election instead of doing the work for us Americans. Obama couldn't do half of what he says without making us a Socialist Society. Then you will need to work real hard to pay 50% of your pay to pay for the government freebies. All hopes of starting or owning your own business and dreams of success will fade away. Keep in mind, all those give-a-way programs will end up just like the social security fiasco. We will pay many times more in taxes than what it was worth.

    ------------------

In your hero Ronald Reagan's words, "There you go again." You blame the Dems for everything that went wrong in this country, and blame the Repubs for everything that went right in this country. The Repubs spending made the Dems look like fiscal conservatives. The Repubs's policies have been abysmal, period. Now your new hero, McCain, wants to keep those policies going. Sorry, but you guys need to go. Now.

Comment: This is what barrybots are reduced to? Did you sign a petition for a DNA test on Trig Palin to see if he was a son or grandson? Did you see the interview of the trooper in question? You do know that your (barry's) campaign already "reached out" to the Trooper's union. And seriously, How many operatives does barry have in Alaska trying to see if she smoked cigarettes in high school?

    "before election day!"

She's been on the scene for what five days? Maybe she can study how barry dodged (still is dodging) Rezko's conviction? Barry had a proven connection to Rezko and was name in Rezko's indictment that led to his conviction. Curiously Rezko was supposed to be sentenced this week but it got delayed to the end of October. And like before that will be delayed till after the general election.

    -----------------

Would you care to expalin this "proven" connection? Need some links, please....
