WOW MAN, most of the threads here show there is still hope and sanity in America 2008....HOWEVER, there are still those from ALL PARTIES that has bought this PALIN PERSON hook, line and sinker after ONE SPEECH written by Karl ROVE....the same speech that she continues to read at every stop along the trail with JOHN BUSH. If Obama, Biden and Clinton do nothing about this PITBULL, OBAMA will LOSE 100%.

    WHY?

    • Posted By: katvan @ 09/07/2008 3:56:32 PM

      Matthew Scully wrote the speech.

And why did you include Sen Clinton? She lost right? Why is it her responsibility? It's up to Obama/Biden but he's so lame he needs Sen Clitnon to campaign for him like she did BEFORE he became the nominee -- something no runner up has ever done. And he still hasn't paid down her debt.

I read too many stupid things these days written by people that have no clue.

Point: Barack Obama cannot pay Hillary Clinton's debt...it is against the law...
Point: The loser of the primary does always help the winner to win the general election...Didn't you hear all of those lying losers at the Republican Convention or were you just asleep....

Please sign this petition demanding the truth at www.alaskatroopergate.com that states:

"We, the undersigned, call on Sarah Palin to fulfill her promise to cooperate with the Alaska Troopergate investigation.

We demand that GOP operatives stop stonewalling the investigation.

We as Americans say ENOUGH IS ENOUGH and demand the information we are entitled to know to make an informed decision before election day!"

Please help get the word out!

    • Posted By: katvan @ 09/07/2008 1:44:01 PM

This is what barrybots are reduced to? Did you sign a petition for a DNA test on Trig Palin to see if he was a son or grandson? Did you see the interview of the trooper in question? You do know that your (barry's) campaign already "reached out" to the Trooper's union. And seriously, How many operatives does barry have in Alaska trying to see if she smoked cigarettes in high school?

      "before election day!"

She's been on the scene for what five days? Maybe she can study how barry dodged (still is dodging) Rezko's conviction? Barry had a proven connection to Rezko and was name in Rezko's indictment that led to his conviction. Curiously Rezko was supposed to be sentenced this week but it got delayed to the end of October. And like before that will be delayed till after the general election.

Afraid Palin's secrets, lies and corruption will come to the light. You cannot blame Barack Obama for everything my friend. If you think that this women can scream lies at the Republican Convention for the Republicans and God's words at the same time... it is not possible.

Palin should know that God says that you cannot serve two masters...Palin chose John McCain...not God.

  • Posted By: TennMom @ 09/07/2008 3:49:00 PM

I have difficulty understanding asinine comments such as, "Barry's operatives are all over. He's got 2500 advisors." The investigation into Governor Palin's abuse of power was initiated long before anyone had an inkling that she would be named McCain's running mate. To suggest Obama is behind it is to dismiss historical facts. Then again, the standard operating procedure of the GOP dictates that history, and therefore the truth, be ignored.

Heard of Kwame Kilpatrick?? That's how it started in Detroit. Don't like want a policeman said or did... have him fired. Then deny it or cover it up. Detroit's mayor kept the city ited up for months in lies and destruction. Do we need this in Washington?

    • Posted By: ecg3817 @ 09/07/2008 4:11:43 PM

Please understand for the last 8 years...there has been corruption in George W. Bush's administartion....

    • Posted By: katvan @ 09/07/2008 3:46:45 PM

Manoogian mansion? The execution of Tamara Greene after Kilpatrick's wife attacked her in a fit if jealousy? That Kilpatrick said the white jury were racists? 14,000+ text messages to his chief of staff? Political favors? Nepotism? Personal vehicles? His lame attempt to escape to Ontario? Obama camp's statement? Why is he so concerned? Needing votes? He's got info on Obama? Obama wants to win Michigan? Stealing delegates he didn't need isn't going to help that. Because Kwame and mom endorsed Obama? Interestingly Kilpatrick plead guilty the day after statement issued. Why wasn't Obama's statement made known to the MSM? Nobody wants to be mayor most violent city in the US and the state that most people are leaving. That's why all this was allowed to go on for 6 years.

So your analogy isn't even close.

The CNN interview with Wooten was pathetic... oh, poor, misunderstood Wooten! Don't know about Alaska but in Indiana this man would have been FIRED for the drinking in a patrol car at least and likely prosecuted for the other infractions. Is this idiot still on the force??? I would be outraged if our Governor did NOT insist that such a trooper be fired immediately!

YES BARACK...LOTS of People ARE STUPID out there, there are:

STUPID HILLARY supporters who will vote for Palin/McBUSH because she is a good looking, smart WOMAN...even tho her voting record and VIEWS are WAY off base from their very own.

PEOPLE, too STUPID to see that Palin is a WOLF in sheep's clothing tho she is telling you that she is with the PITBULL story.

THE STUPID PRESS, who are falling all over themselves to acclaim PALIN the next OBAMA, after she reads ONE KARL ROVE speech WELL, one night and continues to read the SAME speech every day thereafter while on the trail with MCLIAR. A PRESS TOO STUPID to tell the AMERICAN people that SARAH the PITBULL is TOO controlled by ROVE to have anything to say to the STUPID PRESS. The press is letting her get away with this so far.

STUPID AMERICANS of ALL parties, who will buy anything in a great PACKAGE, while forgetting the facts that PALIN/JOHN BUSH has not mentioned one single solitary thing they intend to do about the terrible USA situation IF and when they are in office.

STUPID OBAMA and BIDEN, who are letting this FARCE happen right before their very EYES without calling them out on all the LIES Palin and Mcsame are spouting. Remember in the Drew Peterson case, there were 18 eighteen separate domestic disturbance calls to the Drew Peterson residence outside Chicago. In the eighteen separate domestic disturbance calls to his home, Drew Peterson was never arrested or charged by his fellow officers with whom he worked. The only person ever charged by his fellow officers in all of Peterson???s domestic violence cases was his now deceased ex-wife. Any investigation into the conduct of her ex-brother-in-law trooper by his own department, the Alaska State Police and Pubic Safety Commissioner, should have been viewed with the same skepticism as the eighteen separate investigations into the conduct of Drew Peterson by his fellow officers. It clearly can be argued that the prudent course of action was for Governor Sarah Palin to intervene given the almost near universal blue wall of silence that often prevents investigation of police misconduct by their fellow officers, superiors, and even other outside law enforcement agencies. In light of the recent murders of spouses and girlfriends by police officers in other states, any alleged intervention by Governor Sarah Palin involving her ex-brother-in-law was not unethical or unreasonable, rather it was probably the more prudent course of conduct. Sarah Palin should not have had to wait until her sister disappeared before she intervened.

The only truth is that a Democratic Senator is in charge of this ivestigation. How covenient that it starts as she is picked to be a Vice Presidential Canidate (You don't think that had something to do with it , do you?).
She should have fired the trooper and the guy protecting him. I applaud her, the tropper tasered his 11 year old son, drove his cruiser around drunk, the threatened Palins family. This will end and she will come out of this just fine. I can't wait to have her as my Vice President. And after McCains 2 terms I'll vote for her to be President.

Plus you do not know a dame thing about this tramp. You got to be a *** to vote for man who is senile
I doubt if you even know where Alaska is. You must live in a trailer. She must meet the press one day.

We all have our favorite news networks we use to obtain the information we need to make a selection in this election cycle. For months I have watched the same network and supplemented it with visits to competitive internet sites. However, during the recent political party conventions I found myself constantly switching to the other networks to see what was ???going on???. Some of the networks seemed to put their own slant on the issues while a few clearly directed each question or comment towards a particular candidate. This is only to be expected since each of the 200 million plus voters has their own individual opinion on their favorite candidate. During this buildup to the election I have spent a significant amount of time reading the opinions of the political pundits and most importantly the comments submitted by their readers. However in the last 2 weeks I have seen more hate being spewed in the comments than ever before. Governor Palin has been the brunt of totally fantastic lies, many of which would have resulted in a Salem, Massachusetts woman being burned at the stake and others that are physically impossible. Barack Obama???s middle name of Hussein has caused many that are politically opposed to him to clam he is a closet Muslim. And everyone running for each of the parties has voters waiting for them to bite the heads off of bats.
I have no idea of how many ultra left and right wing fanatics are spreading this filth. It might be as little as 5%, maybe much less, but they are only clouding the election for the vast majority of voters. No matter which direction your politics lean you must look at every last bit of information and consider the source, how plausible is it and what is the significance to the future of our country in these trying times? Hopefully the hate will not affect the results of the upcoming election.
Remember, half of you will wake up on November 5th having voted for the party that lost.

Isn't funny how a democratic State Senator is in charge of Troopergate ? Can't you see that it is all political bull to spread stories to discredit her now that she is a Vice Presidential Canidate ? Obama helps a local builder get land to build on and the builder builds him a 2 million dollar home and that story sure got burried fast. Obama seems to enjoy politics as usual and has shown nothing to prove he is different or will do anything different. Wake up people, you are being taken in by a great speaker as the Germans were by Hitler.

    • Posted By: Pinky19640630 @ 09/07/2008 10:01:56 AM

Obama didn't get a builder to build on his land. The house was already there, but there was a lot next to it and so in order to purchase the house, you would have had to buy the lot next to it. An acquaitance spous bought the lot and it wasn't 2 million dollars. So get your facts straight. I'm sure we've all used our connections to get through red tape or we've asked our friends to do favors for us. So don't act like no one in America has never known someone who could help them get a job just by knowing that person because they had inside contact. It happens all the time.

Let me share with you what one of our fellow bloggers posted about this TROOPER brother in law of Palin. Loriw effectively captured everything that was in the CNN interview there was with this guy (I concur cuz I watched the story on TV too). BTW, I took it upon myself to CAP some key words in case people want to scan thru it:

      posted by loriw @ 09/06/2008 9:12:07 PM

Comment: On Wootens behavior as a police officer:
On the CNN interview he admitted to TAZERing his 0 year old and showed no remorse but instead explained it away by saying it was only a training cartridge that had less than a second of electical activity.

First off I can tell you Wooten was trained NOT to use this on children under any circumstance. To use the excuse that the child wanted to be TAZERd is NO excuse. He should have lost his abiltity to carry the tazer at the very least AND should have been investigated by Child Protective Services, yet no where have I heard that CPS was involved. To me that smells of internal department cover-up.
Next...Wooten shot the moose ILLEGALLY will he was a WILDLIFE OFFICER which means he knew the laws and should have been held to the highest standards in following them. I have not heard that he was given any punishment for breaking this law (poaching?) which could mean...cover up by his department again.
Drinking beer in his patrol car. He denied this in the CNN interview but in my opinion his body language said "liar" to me. It was witnessed by 2 people and was UPHELD after investigation...yet he STILL denies it?
He has a comment on his personnel record of "Damage to State property" in cases I have sat in executive session on police incidents this is "police speak" for wrecked his patrol car in an accident that was determined to be his fault. He has another note on his personnel file where he was pulled over for "not using a Left turn signal" that is likely this really represented a more serious moving violation because police officers don't usually make a big deal out of failing to use a turn signal to where it ends up on a file. Then there's the fact that this guy has been married AND DIVORCED 4 times. Palin's sister was the third. So this guy at the very least has very, very bad judgement and most likely is a BAD COP who's problems where "handled internally" so as not to bring disrepute onto the State Police Dept and he was further protected by the Police UNION. Wooten should have, in my experience and judgement, lost his badge with the tazer incident, compound that with all the other stuff and I would say that Palin was well with in her power and rights to lean on the Safety Commissioner to do something about this DANGEROUS COP since those below her were not.

  • Posted By: Borignal @ 09/07/2008 3:18:50 AM

I also saw the CNN interview. I don't believe anyone should or does sympathize with state trooper Wooten. Maybe he did deserve to be fired....but that's not why this is so concerning. The problem is that there are allegations that Sarahcuda abused her power as Gov. by firing public safety commissioner Walt Monegan....because he refused to fire her ex-brother-in-law, trooper Wooten. The commissioner said he felt pressured to fire Wooten and there seems to be quite a bit of evidence to support his claim. It would be nice if Sen. McCain and his "posse" would allow the state of Alaska to handle their own issues..... I am assuming there are laws and procedures up there ....and no one is above the law, even the Pitbull with lipstick. This family is just too much DRAMA for the White House.... it's actually embarasssing. You would have to suspend disbelief to imagine this woman representing our country in negotiations with world leaders, and God forbid, become President of the free world if the oldest candidate for president were unable to complete his term. Come on Sen. McCain.... this is beyond being a "maverick" decision....it's a reckless and irresponsible decision!!

Comment: It's time to call the hypocritical Republican bluff.

    Country first?

If this was so, surely McCain would have chosen a much better-qualified person for being (in the words of the cliche), a 'heartbeat away from the Presidency', RATHER THAN someone who would further polarise the country as his choice of Palin has done.

And his choice would have been far more carefully vetted, not chosen after the basis of ONE fifteen-minute meeting, as has been reported.

And there would be no objections on the part of the Republicans to a a very thorough enquiry ino the suitability. of Palin as vice-presidential candidate.

Suddenly this must be for the good of the country?

And surely, it is "COUNTRY FIRST"?

Or is it the Republican Party - as always - and Mcain first???

It is time for the media not to be cowed by the Right and report the truth about Palin. This lady is the darling of the AIP and is a card carrying member as well. Their leader has implored their membership to "infiltrate" the major parties.Did Mccain see this one coming or is he and his team so blinded by Presidential ambition that they overlook this damaging pedigree of their 2nd in charge. This very scarey. Are we so afraid of the Right noise machine that we tuck tail and run? I want to see the same volume of rant by the same ilk that went after Obama for the Rev.Wright and the 60's activist. The AIP is an organization that has advocated violence and is joined at the hip with other groups from the south and in Europe. Palin doesn't need vetted more...she needs to be arrested under the very same Patriot Act that her"adopted party" so richly defends. Hopefully, there are some real patriotic Republicans who see through this new charade of the lunatic fringe on the right and correct it before she and her brigade of nuts are in the Oval Office.

Obama didn't help a local businessman get land. I live in Chicago and less than a mile from Obama's house and trust me, the house was already there so it wasn't just built. In order to purchase the home, he would have had to purchase the empty lot, which is part of the property, but he couldn't afford it. Obama's acquaintance wife works in realestate, and she was able to purchase the lot at a reduction price therefore allowing Obama to buy the home. We've (America) have all used our contacts or people on the inside to do favors for us. If we new someone worked in Human Resouce, we would ask that person to give us or a friend a job although we knew that there may have been other applications to look at. We've all had contacts and asked them for favors so Obama didn't do anything wrong.

What does it say about barry's judgment? he knew him for 20 years (Rezko was his first fundraiser and was on barry's 2004 US Senate campaign. Now he's going to prison...unless he makes a deal...

This is yet another republican attempt to cover up more possible
    republican corruption.

They start by keeping Palin from the media so they cannot ask her questions.

Then make false accusations at the investigators.

And, if all this does not work, as a last resort, DELAY DELAY DELAY

at all costs until AFTER THE ELECTION.

When is this republican PENCHANT FOR SECRECY from the people going to stop.

  • Posted By: maq1 @ 09/07/2008 11:29:24 AM

This is yet another example of what went wrong with the Republicans... I like Palin and McCain as people, but sadly they stand for a party that has violated conservative principles, given in to cronyism, and governed incompetantly. Why?? because 8 years in power makes you drunk on power, low on accountability and you think you can get away with anything. At least until the American public gets sick of it and kicks you out, which is what needs to happen with the Republicans.

These women and men think they can do whatever they want, but thats just not how you live in a society of prosperity and laws. Why are we spending boat loads of American tax dollars on a bad idea war of choice in Iraq? WMD? Bad Intelligence? Why is there $11 Billion of unaccounted for funds spent on contractors like Halliburton and KBR? Why no accountability? How can we be led into a bad idea expensive as heck war without following where our money is spent? The only sane conclusion is that Republicans do what they way, and they don't really care how our money is spent when it goes into the pockets of their buddies at Halliburton and KBR. Thats the greater good, baby!

The way they run the country is so unChristian is unbelievable. Throw the bums out. If we don't, we're just asking to be taken advantage of. The abuse of power comes as no surprise. 12 years in the White House for the Republicans is a recipe for moral and ethical disaster.
