It's interesting how some can be so taken by the cover (the illusion of what's inside), they think they've read the book, even when they've never even read the preface.Too little is known about her, but from one speech, there are those who feel secure in her being President (The mantra "She's one of us.")? Scary....very scary. I would suggest you vote the issues and not be so taken with the cover. If you believe someone who would condone Alaska separating from the USA would make a good president, I am not sure what that says about your thought process or patriotism.

You're absolutely right. Although my read on Ms. Palin is not as positive as Repubs. From her body language and speech content, she looked to me like the consummate social climber that's suddenly found an in with the in crowd. You got to love the way the Repubs were outraged about press coverage of her family. IOW, they don't want anybody looking at their candidate closely, or their family. I understand some partisan blogs were over the top in regards to the situation with Bristol, but really all I read and heard in the national media was that she was five months pregnant and marrying the father. Of course I guess there really are people that can't distinguish between veteran news service and partisan blogs, but anybody that graduated high school ought to do better.

You are so right. The distinction between "Veteran news service" and partisan blogs should be easily destinguishable by even a high school grad. The problem is when the "Veteran news service" doesn't appear to be able to make that same distinction. For a supposed "veteran news service" to report on their world venue, that "...this is still in the rumor form, but could be so important, we are reporting that it is being said, Governor Palin's supposed birth of a down syndrome baby 4 months ago, is in instead a coverup for her daughter who actually was the one to give birth". That was from MSNBC and CNN, pretty impressive reporting by a "veteran new service. eh?

For anyone to start a rumor is one of the worst forms of smear mongering that exists, and that person should be shunned. . For anyone to repeat it is worse.. For a "veteran news service" to do so is a disgrace and a betrayal of the public trust and should be severly punished.,
        .
My 12 year old grandaughter heard it one of the times and said to me, "Grandpa, how could that girl, Bristol Palin, have a down syndrome baby 4 months ago and be 5 months pregnant again"? I had to deliberate a while while searching for words. Then it came to me, it was so simple, " well babygirl, I guess she couldn't could she", then why did that news lady say that?

This story doesn't really give us new facts on Palin's stand on abortion. We know she's anti-abortion. So what? The point is that as VP (or even President) she won't individually have much to do with abortion laws. Even if she were to appoint conservative Supreme Court judges, it's unlikely that the court would overturn Roe vs Wade anytime soon.

What's with all the duplicate comments by some? That maybe if you say something often enough people will start to believe it? Lets discuss an issue for a change.

I was directed to this story with the hyperlink, ???Palin's real record on abortion???. The implication seems obvious but I have a couple questions. 1) How does the Alaska Supreme Court's ruling on a 1997 law reflect on Governor Palin's record on abortion? The answer is that it has nothing to do with her record on abortion. It seems like nowadays that the value of a so called ???fact??? is measured in it's ability to score political points, not in it's accuracy. 2) What does her veto of two line-items in a budget have to do with her record on abortion? Again, nothing. Some have always tried to equate disagreement with a policy or budget item, with disagreement on the underlying issue. They are not one in the same, and people with a High School diploma should know better.
But, these ???facts??? are good examples of what should only be on partisan blog's, not in a reputable News Organizations pages. Hence our continuing confusion between the two.

The only difference between George Bush and Sarah Palin is "lipstick." Republicans need to look beyond her engaging speaking and see that McCain has not found a Maverick---he has found George Bush in a skirt!

no way...no how...no friend of women on the republican side...no mccain/palin!!!!

I have only one question, would Sarah Palin be selected as McCain's running mate if she was a man with the same qualifications and family troubles
