You need to find another job! We americans are getting sick and tired of you wishy washy people and the way you are always sending up smokescreens and bias articles to take the peoples thought off of the real news and what they should be thinking about instead of your idiotic ideas!!!!! I am a woman and a registered independent, but I would never of voted for Hillary and I certainly will not vote in a man that has connections with crime bosses and is also tied to the muslim world.

Why don't you get real!! Instead of spouting all your bias comments about everything. I think we need a NEW news organization out there - one that really reports actual facts and does not show any bias towards anyone or kiss the butts of democrats.

Times are changing and they are changing fast. I find it astonishing that the people who boast of being open minded are finding themselves in a situation where they can???t keep up. Sarah Palin is here ??? change is here and I think the Democrats will be left behind in denial and clinging to the mantra that they are the ONLY ones that could have brought that change. In the end Sarah Palin will move forward not because of the liberal democratic version of the women???s movement but ultimately in spite of it. It won???t matter why or how the republicans stole your mantra ??? it will have just happened. I???d like someone to explain how 90%+ of Blacks support Obama ??? that would be interesting.

Republicans have ALWAYS been about pulling yourself up by your own bootstraps. The problem is that this message is simply not as popular as what the Dems are saying, that "you're a victim, lets give you a special status and rights". That's always irked me about Dems, because instead of an emphasis on the individual, there is a focus on group rights and class grievances ( and by extension, affirmative action, government redistribution of property ). Holding every individual accountable to themselves, succeed or fail, that is what conservatism is supposed to be about.

"pulling yourself up by your own bootstraps" - You know, by this measure, Obama ought to be a very inspiring figure to Republicans... Wonder why he's not?

The Deomcrats gave us Jimmy Carter, Bill Glinton, etc. for President who's roots were governors. Now that there is another excellent experienced governor who is femaile - the paid Obama staff spends time to trash her. Shame on them all -The American public sees through this. I am sure those who write inexperienced have never been to Alaska - One of those is certainly Mr. Obama who has not been.

    • Posted By: Wistful witness @ 09/09/2008 9:12:05 AM

"The American public sees through this."

How can they see through anything? Sarah P has so far been giving speeches written for her by the Rove Republicans, and any journalists who try to talk to her are warded off by threats they'll be charged with "sexism." The American public so far knows what she looks like, what her family looks like, what her baby looks like, what her running mate looks like, and what she looks like when she delivers a canned speech.

What are Sarah's experience, accomplishments and education?

Please compare and contrast to those of Carter and Clinton when they ran.

When a New Hampshire everyman asked Sen. Biden in 1988 how well he did in college, Biden snapped back: "Well I think I have a higher IQ than you!" Biden's point was clear; voters are not to question the educational credentials of candidates, we are merely supposed to ask them to recite their stump speech one more time. If Biden is the wiser candidate, then let's treat Palin as Biden would want us to.

SARAHH- YOU ARE HILARIOUS! BUT THE TRUTH IS USUALLY FUNNY.

ISN'T IT FUNNY HOW NOW HIGH INTELLECT IS A PROBLEM WITH REPUBLICANS? ISN'T THIS THE PARTY AGAINST AFFIRMATIVE ACTION? IF YOU PAINT MCCAIN AND BUSH BLACK THEY LOOK LIKE A AFFIRMATIVE ACTION CASE GONE WILD ON CRACK AND HEROIN. CARTER-NUCLEAR ENGINEER, CLINTON-RHOADES SCHOLAR, OBAMA -TOP OF HARVARD LAW AND CONSTITUTIONAL AND CIVIL RIGHTS ATTORNEY.
I GUESS THAT'S WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU HAVE PRESIDENTS AND NOMINEES WHO ARE BORN INTO WEALTH AND PRIVILEDGE AND STILL SUCK IN SCHOOL. BUSH- A C STUDENT WHO GOT INTO YALE BASE ON HS NAME AND MCCAIN-WHO GOT IN THE NAVY ACADEMY IN THE SAME WAY , WHO GRADUATED AT THE BOTTOM OF HIS CLASS(894/899). SO THAT'S WHY MCCAIN HAS BEEN COPYING OFF BUSH THE LAST 8 YEARS? A "D-" STUDENT COPYING OFF A "C" STUDENT......................MAKES SENSE.

Funny, the only C's and D's I've heard about were on that plagiarizer Biden's report cards. :D BTW when you type in all caps, it means you're either yelling or haven't mastered a keyboard. In either case, its probably not worth reading.

Who is McSame? The guy who will continue our policy of pro-Israel police-the-world foreign interventionism, grant amnesty to millions of illegal aliens, and spend, spend spend? For a moment I thought you were talking about Obama, but you failed to mention a tax hike, so it must be McCain, yeah?

You fail to mention that the democratic party, the party that has always cradled women's rights, is all of a sudden saying that Palin should be staying home with her kids more so than governing a state or acting as Vice President. So while you think the Republican party has suddenly performed a 360, the democratic party has actually succeeded in achieving hypocrisy. Librals such as Sally Quinn have miraculously found their family values and are worried about Palin being able to balance motherhood with politics. I also find it amusing that you poke fun at Palin's lack of experience when Obama only spent 100 some odd days in the senate, much of which planning his rockstar campaign. The democratic party is the party that has succeeded in being sexist and unfair. While librals barely gave Hillary any air time because the left wing media was soaking up the 'messiah,' Republicans elected a woman as their vice presidential nominee. So in a few months, Republicans will have the satisfaction of being the first party to have a female vice presidential candidate, not the Democratic party.

    • Posted By: Wistful witness @ 09/09/2008 8:47:56 AM

Yes, that's right, they have performed a 360 - pausing at the 180 mark long enough to apply an appealing shade of lipstick and then heading straight home to the patriarchs' base, there to espouse the ideals of family, drilling, and regressive tax policies. Oh, and of course Big Government getting out of our lives - except if you're a woman of child-bearing age, that is.

    • Posted By: aleickwort @ 09/07/2008 7:18:57 PM

I have not heard any liberals talking about Palin, saying she should stay home with her kids. I think that's a media invention. What we're talking about is possible ethics violations, abuse of power, and lack of experience.

      • Posted By: skytrooper @ 09/08/2008 3:08:15 AM

Experience you say?Geez, you mean she hasn't got any community organizing experience?Oh no!I can't vote for her. It's an outrage! No community organizing experience.I guess I'll have to vote for Bugs Bunny or Yosemiti Sam, or Curious George Obambi! What to do,what to do????

      • Posted By: MartinBensky @ 09/07/2008 10:59:40 PM

Just for the record, it was not a liberal who said Sarah Palin should stay home with her kids; it was Dr. Laura, a quite conservative radio talk show hostess.

    • Posted By: kingsley2187 @ 09/07/2008 12:49:39 AM

It would be a 180, not a 360 fyi. Who IS home with the kids?

    • Posted By: Esencia08 @ 09/07/2008 12:03:46 AM

Good points. With the nomination of Sarah Palin, the Obama-Biden team appear typically conservative and traditional despite espousing a liberal philosophy while Palin seems more "liberal" although espousing socially conservative values. Its a paradox that I find intriguing. I have to give props to John McCain for such a bold, brillant move. Moreover, he picked someone who is not from the elite class who has intimate ties with big oil.

And you are very correct, if Mccain and Palin win this election, the Republican party will be able to tout credit for the first female VP of the United States!

  • Posted By: vakosh @ 09/09/2008 7:56:35 AM

Wrong. Women are sick of the media pounding on women. We put up with it first go around .... but this time, we will not have it. Obama thinks he can take the higher road while he has all his pundits like MSNBC, CNN and Newsweek do his dirty work .... news flash ... it ain't gonna work this time. Women are going to revolt in droves. Obama is a proven woman hater and this is just Hillary Act II.

  • Posted By: Paula55 @ 09/08/2008 6:19:07 PM

Extremely well put! I am a 55 year old woman and I was insulted that the Republican party thought that just because Palin has ovaries and I have ovaries that I would be stupid enough to vote for her. And yes the Republican punits did say in the beginning that the choice for Palin would pick up a large sector of Hillary voters, then they flip flopped and on that when they saw and heard the contrary, the outrage from Hillary voters. They simply underestimated the intelligence of women yet again. Palin's policies do not advance woman's issues in any way shape for form. She is from the stone age and wants Creationism taught in our public schools--evidently she thinks the Flintstones is a documentary. Palin is anti-choice and anti-equal pay. She and McCain have no new ideas about the economy or rising medical insurance costs. Palin is a neophite and should be grilled by the media on her knowledge and stance on foreign affairs and national security--because she would become President if anything happened to McCain. All American's should be terrified of that possibility. Palin has been described as very vindictive, secretive, and abuses her power. McCain has a hair-trigger temper and is out of touch with the needs of the average American. Don't be fooled by the "maverick label", McCain/Palin are mirror images of Bush/Cheney. And this country cannot afford even four more years of that same trainwreck!

Quindlen has spent so much time staring in the mirror at her own vagina that she can't bear the thought of a feminist in the Republican Party.

Thirty years ago we fought to make abortions safe and legal for women, but we recognized that it might not be the only choice for all women. We called ourselves pro-choice, not pro-abortion, because it sounded better and because we agreed on respecting women's rights to choose to carry or not carry a pregnancy to term. I'm appalled at the so-called pro-choice warriors questioning a woman about her personal choice.

  • Posted By: Bubbahunk08 @ 09/08/2008 8:50:37 PM

Dear Cold, What Sarah Palin has done is to distract people who are trying to take her seriously with absolutely no complete vetting of this person. If you vote for her just because she is this or that, then you are a fool, too. How many priests and ministers have to show up on the front page for you to realize that you can't judge a book by it's cover. What Palin does is allow Republicans to go into that fantasyland they love - with Rambo and Superwoman - and erase the notion that each and every person who voted Republican bears responsibility for the mess we have - the mess Republicans ignored in the convention, ignored when people were crying, and ignored while they partied.

    • Posted By: colddeadhands @ 09/08/2008 9:03:04 PM

What mess are you referring to? What has she done specifically to distract you? I am not sure i understand some of your comments about my being a fool. I have pointed out that McCain was smart in his choice and that libs can't wait to rip her apart.

      • Posted By: Bubbahunk08 @ 09/08/2008 9:40:50 PM

Dear Cold, what mess? Hmm, maybe you haven't been reading the papers? Anyway, my point about Palin being a distraction is that everyone is focusing on this or that point - she looks great with a gun, she fired someone, 3 of 4 of her best friends from Jazzercise are uncommited. All that stuff should be on one of those shows about the stars - or reality TV - but not part of the discussion we need to have about where our country is going. If McCain had made a responsible choice, he would have given us someone that was ready and vetted, so that they could enter the discussions at the level we need to be. We are all fools if we cannot see through this probable Rovian plot to make a cynical mockery of our electoral process. But, if he's your friend, you probably love him and that may also be why you don't see a mess in your world.. Here's a quote I like: "Those who wish to be ignorant and free believe in something that never was and never will be." -Thomas Jefferson I'm just quoting - I'm not saying...

        • Posted By: colddeadhands @ 09/09/2008 5:46:41 AM

Bubba you sound like a conspiracy theorist. You don't know much about Obama either. You don't seem offended by this. I am sure you'll get to know her well after McCain is elected.
The "mess" by the way is not so bad. If you focus on negativity that's all you'll see. You are ignorant to the good.

There is a reason why Hillary Clinton/her campaign called FOX most balanced in their coverage of the Democratic Primary. As a longstanding Democrat/Hillary supporter who remembers very well the Republican treatment of Clintons, I was stunned by how much more brutal/merciless the Democrats were. At least Republicans had a reason - they are the opposition. I am no longer a Democrat because what justice can you expect from those who tarnished a United States President of their own party with the racist card. A President who was called Blacker than Black by a noble laureate who knows a thing or two about that color.

    • Posted By: HarleyDavidson @ 09/08/2008 1:10:09 AM

Sounds like you have a shiver going down your leg like Chris Matthews. Fact: I was a Hillary supporter. Still got the t-shirts, caps, signs, mugs, and so on. Fact: I was there fighting for Hillary against the Obama thugs tearing her down. Fact: The democratic party refused to stand up for Hillary when the Daily Kos and Moveeron.org group tore her down. I did not leave the democratic party the Democratic party left us. Now I'll fight for Palin because the same ugliness is happening all over again. Once again I will stand with a good woman. Never for the democratic party again.

        Harley,
You were a Hillary supporter! I think Hillary got the shaft and should have gotten the nomination also, but four more years of Bush-nation is too much. McCain used to be a maverick but has sold out and the country can't take much more. Vote Barack! Sarah Palin is only there to energize the base at this point.

Ha ha ha! Loved your article! I am amazed at how many people think this woman is qualified to be VP. Hats off to Karl Rove or whoever came up with this brilliant strategy. It certainly caught everyone off guard and made them forget to consider the actual issues. Hopefully the voters will come to their senses and look at her record and positions on the issues rather than her personality, hairstyle, and glasses.

    • Posted By: doctorfixit @ 09/08/2008 8:26:04 AM

If they do look at her record and compare it to the pointy headed elitist they will conclude she's 10 times more qualified to shrink government, cut taxes, stop government racism, and allow our country to grow and provide jobs.

She won't be doing anything except keeping the other Wal Mart moms ready to vote Republican in 2010 and 2012. She is a good speaker who is reading speeches written by someone else. I heard some of her babbling on CNN tonight and it was just that - babbling.

You had better check with the Oil companies in Alaska if you want to talk cutting taxes. There ticket is all about lowering taxes on big compaines, but she raised the taxes on the Oil companies in Alaska. That is the only way she could cut taxes for the people. She also thought it was a good idea to give everyone in Alaska a huge rebate, which was nice, but then had to borrow millions to build roads in Alaska. Now which makes more sense??

I see so much fear from left-wing feminists on Sarah Palin...abortion is their sacred cow and they just cannot get past it; they just cannot, despite 30 years of scientific development that shows us that babies in the womb are not just a blob of tissue. Thankfully, there are a whole generation of women who have regretted their decision, and have passed on their tragic experience to their own daughters (when they finally had them.)

So, evidently unbknownst to the feminists who live in their own little bubble, countless homes and charities have been established by those stuffy right-winged ideologues to stop the perpetuation of the awful lie of abortion being a woman's right. They've been there for over 20 years sowing seeds of life into a new generation of women who compete with vigor in the workforce but will not go down the path to abortion

    • Posted By: socalsue @ 09/08/2008 3:28:32 AM

But why deny funding for sex education in schools? Also, abortion is one thing, but contraception is another or at least it should be. Current right wing philosophy is that they are one and the same and should be disallowed.

      • Posted By: katvan @ 09/08/2008 5:35:27 AM

        Obama wanted sex-ed taught to 5 y/os.

      • Posted By: doctorfixit @ 09/08/2008 8:23:57 AM

All the "sex education" in the world has not stopped or even reduced teenage pregnancy. Parents are responsible for sex education, not schools. And "sex education" does not need to include condoms on cucumbers. Get the liberal fascist abortion propaganda out of the classroom.

    • Posted By: andrewsac @ 09/08/2008 3:46:52 AM

Well, you can now live long enough to get your wish. Maybe you can start burying your granddaughters because of illegal abortions. There was a real reason that abortion became legal - to make it SAFE. Too many dead women, or sterile women, because they went to back-alleys. This wasn't done to piss you off, Miss Right. It was made the law of the land because the states and the feds would not touch it, and women were dying - and taking the adorable fetus with them, I might add. I tell ya what - when your spending on domestic issues equals your "outrage", I'll support you. But this country does nothing to help women who are poor, or women who work. Even the hated French help out more. So dig deep into those Christian pockets (after all, you all say you can't outgive God, right?), and start taking care of these additional 500,000-1,000,000 new precious lives born every year. I don't see you insisting that every child in this country get the best education, the safest nieghborhood available, or the best health care, all in the richest country in the history of mankind. Your rightious bloviating conceals a heart of stone. Or is it just white girls from Christian families who "life happens" to? Sit down and count the cost of your smug superiority - I think that it is a little more money than you will willingly part with, to help all these poor teens who just need a helping hand. If you had any heart, you'd already be a democrat. At least then you could get funding to help more of these girls, their kids, and their baby daddies, and not have to settle for empty rhetoric that dies an agonizing death after every GOP convention. Because I HAVE BEEN OUT THERE, and I've seen this country grow more poor people than rich over the last 8 years. I've also seen many a church decide that they would rather have their little angels f****ing, and then having the babies, then be honest with them and talking about birth control in any meaningful way, except to say - DON"T SCREW! Well, dahling, if there are no consequences when those nights of passion turn into babies, all your pre-marital lectures won't work. I didn't hear Sarah talk at all about adoption, and if the kids ARE getting married, uh, why aren't they? BECAUSE THEY AREN"T GOING TO! After the election, these kids will announce their "separation", and you can cry for Sarah all over again. This kids MySpace says he doesn't even want kids, but now he's getting married to a 17 year old (98% failure rate for that marriage, by the way, because you people don't know your Bible as good as you think. Jesus forbade divorce, but hey, pick and choose, right?) Wow, some p****y you pay for forever!
