"McCAIN / PALIN / GOP" HYPOCRISY #10: THE "POLITICS BEFORE COUNTRY" LIES
McCain and Rove accused Obama of picking Virginia Governor Tim Kane as VP for political expediency, and also because Tim Kane would bring a southern state into the Democratic "Win Column". Instead Obama went for Senator Joe Biden to sure up the leadership ticket for the White House. McCain assuming it would be an Obama-Kane ticket, wrongly accused Obama of putting politics ahead of country.

Well McCain and Rove got busted. The whole world (except a blinded Religious-Right) witnessed McCain picking the least qualified Republican to be his VP in hopes of:
    - - - (1.) stealing Hillary's voters from Obama;
    - - - (2.) pleasing James Dobson's religious-right.

Clearly a hypocritical VP pick by McCain for the "sole purpose of political ambitions", is now on record for the world???s to witness for eternity.

"McCAIN / PALIN / GOP" HYPOCRISY #4: THE "APPEASEMENT" LIES

Bush and McCain accused Obama of "appeasing" Iran to stop their nuclear program. Obama blasted McCain and Bush for worthless bluster, ???chicken hawkish??? views, poor judgment, and their refusal to open diplomatic channels with Iran that has lead to failed international policies.

Ironically, Bush followed Obama's strategy and began backdoor talks with Iran. As it has turned out, neither Bush nor McCain are admitting their own talks with Iran to be "appeasement"; nor are they giving Obama credit for being right about the use of diplomacy as one of many tools to resolving conflicts as Americans prefer. And by the way, Bush and McCain supported 'appeasements' to North Korea in exchange for shutting down their nukes. Again, how ironic appeasement was the very thing Bush / McCain hypocrites accused Obama.

"McCAIN / PALIN / GOP" HYPOCRISY #5: THE "TAX CUT" LIES

McCain accused Obama of trying to raise taxes. But Obama has continually advocated tax cuts for the middle-class with annual salaries of less than $250,000.00, which is about 98% of the population. However, McCain doesn't tell the public his health insurance plan is going to effectively raise taxes for all Americans that have health insurance, while making permanent tax cuts for the riches upper 2% of Americans.

And again, McCain doesn't tell the public that as late as 2006 with mounting national debt and the high cost of two wars, he was against Bush's permanent tax cut for the rich because the nation could not afford it. Now McCain has flip-flopped hard and is supporting Bush's plan for permanent tax cuts for the riches 2% of Americans - - - at a time when the nation (and the military) can least afford it.

"McCAIN / PALIN / GOP" HYPOCRISY #12: THE "IRAQ TIMETABLE" LIES

Senator Obama was consistent in his call for a responsible U.S. troop withdrawal from Iraq under an agreed timetable. McCain and Bush said "absolutely" no timetables and anything like timetables was tantamount to "cut-and-run". It was Bush and McCain's desire to stay in Iraq indefinitely. Only after Obama took McCain's challenge and went to Iraq & Afghanistan, and secured an informal agreement to pull U.S. troops out by 2010, did Bush and McCain changed there views to accept timetables. Now Bush and McCain don't call timetables cut-and-run any longer.

"McCAIN / PALIN / GOP" HYPOCRISY #7: THE "PLANE SALE ON EBAY" LIES

Sarah Palin insinuated she sold state plane on EBay for a profit, and more recently McCain repeated it as a fact that the plane was actually sold on EBay for a profit. That lie has now been debunked, and the good Christian Sarah Palin has no shame that she was caught in another lie. The plane could not sell on EBay so it was taken down and sold "privately for a lost".

"McCAIN / PALIN / GOP" HYPOCRISY #6: THE "BRIDGE TO NOWHERE" LIES

Sarah Palin claimed on several occasions that she turned down $350-million of federal government earmarks for the "bridge to nowhere". But what actually happened is Sarah campaigned to get the money for the "bridge to nowhere", then flip-flopped after McCain voted the bridge down when she won the Governor's office. Ironically, Alaska still got the 'bridge to nowhere' funds but it was used instead to build a "highway to nowhere".

"McCAIN / PALIN / GOP" HYPOCRISY #3: THE "CHANGE" LIES

Up until last week, McCain's campaign has been on "EXPERIENCE", while Obama's mantra has always been on CHANGE. After watching the DNC performance, McCain 'blinked' and changed his campaign to run on the same mantra as Obama's which is CHANGE. This is after McCain accused Obama of saying anything to win!!

"McCAIN / PALIN / GOP" HYPOCRISY #2: THE "EXPERIENCE" LIES

After Senator Obama spent 18-months running a campaign that has totaled $350-million; and after 3-years in the Senate negotiating legislations for the nation and for his 12.8-million Illinois constituents; and after 8-years in Illinois State Senate fighting for the middle-class; and after 3 more years fighting as a community activist and organizer; it is genuinely hypocritical for McCain to pound Obama on the experience factor, and then turn around and install Sarah Palin with NO national and foreign experience, to be a single heartbeat from Commander-in-Chief of the United States. This is GARGANTUAN HYPOCRISY and a RECKLESS decision that puts the nation at risk just so McCain can fulfill his long sought after ambition to be POTUS.

"McCAIN / PALIN / GOP" HYPOCRISY #8: THE "ABSTINENCE-ONLY" LIES
Sarah Palin as an Ultra Extreme Religious-Right advocate uses her State office bully-pulpit to knock down public school s@x-education, while plugging her "abstinence-only" religious views to public schools. Ironically, her 17-year old daughter Bristol fails to practice the "abstinence before marriage" views her mother is trying to push in Alaska schools. Then Sarah tries to hide it with another lie by telling the school where Bristol attends that her daughter must drop out because she has Mono. Sarah continued to hold fast to the Mono lie until rumors break loose just after her VP announcement. It was only then the "abstinence-only" hypocrite came clean.

"McCAIN / PALIN / GOP" HYPOCRISY #1: THE "WE DON'T KNOW HIM" LIES

After 18-months on the campaign trail, detractors of Senator Obama (mainly GOP constituents), claim they "still don't know Obama" well enough to make an informed decision as to how they should vote. But within 48-hours of Sarah Palin's introduction to the GOP, Obama's critics suddenly knew everything there was to know about Sarah Palin. How is it that the religious-right cannot know (a fellow Christian brother) Obama after he endured 18-months of brutal media scrutiny, but suddenly 'know' Palin within 2-days of popping up on the national stage and without one public interview?

Thank you for putting my thoughts into words. In trying to sort out all the negative stuff being dished out to us, it is good to know there are news reporters out there who are intelligent and make a lot of sense. I strongly believe in family values but many Republicans seem to be dismissing the point of a healthy society with morals. Tom Ridge as VP would have been a perfect fit for McCann. McCann's judgment is flawed...

Would Jesus force his beliefs on others, or would he give them a choice. we all have a choice in being Christian or being something else, don't we?
If you are considering a vote of 4 more years of aggressive, warmongering Republican ideology after the economic problems suffered these last 8 years, then you deserve whatever economic woes that befall you. Let go of your pride and ego.

IN ADDITION TO THE TWO SCANDALS SARAH PALIN IS CURRENTLY INVOLVED IN - THE OTHER SHOE MAY DROP ON PALIN THIS WEEK!!!!

"The National Enquirer's coverage of a vicious war within Sarah Palin's extended family includes several newsworthy revelations, including the resulting incredible charge of an affair plus details of family strife when the Governor's daughter revealed her pregnancy. Following our John Edwards' exclusives, our political reporting has obviously proven to be more detail-oriented than the McCain campaign's vetting process. Despite the McCain camp's attempts to control press coverage they find unfavorable, The Enquirer will continue to pursue news on both sides of the political spectrum."

Do you really want your little girl to risk her life for a mistake that her limited world view may promote if she falls head over hills for a young dashing man who hormones controls 90 if not 100% of his thoughts? Just think, she will hope online find the person to do it and call a friend and you get a call from the morgue to identify your daughter.

We are just one justice away from over turning Roe Vs Wade.

I don't believe in abortion or war, but I know the consequences of not having the option.

  • Posted By: Mwalimu @ 09/06/2008 7:36:31 PM

Bravo for saying what I've been writing in blogs for months. Palin's stand on abortion is anything but moral. Worse she will deny a 14 year odl who's been raped by her mother's live-in boyfriend the only real humane alternative = a Plan B morning after pill - which does not actually abort a fetus, but prevents a pregnancy from occurring. In addition, not covered in this article are the horrors of foster care. For many teenagers in foster care, they receive a "wonderful" birthday present on their 18th birthday - the address of the nearest homeless shelter - because that's what they've become - homeless.
The GOP has proposed nothing to improve our dysfunctional foster care system. Nor do I see the folks in evangeical congregations lining up to adopt children in foster care.
Obama is the only candidate with the courage to offer a sane compromise. First, to keep abortions safe and legal. Second, to do eveything to possible to make abortions rare. That includes making family planning and contraceptives readily available and providing sex education based on ABC. (Abstain if you can, Condom if you can't.) Overhwhelming evidence shows that teenagers with this type of sex education are far less likely to get pregnant.

    Thank you.

I was once a "moderate Republican" until I realized that an alliance of very determined, effective, extremely right-wing conservatives have taken over the Republican party, and they brook no compromise.

There is no room in the Republican party for "moderates." There is no "big tent."

There is a very scary right wing agenda that includes among other things, ending abortion rights for all women in America, forever, regardless of their wishes or circumstances. To do this they need a majority of 5 or more "strict consructionist" Supreme court justices ( a euphemism for: always in favor of the Republican power structure no matter the facts). Thanks to the Bush administration, they may have 4 already. All they need is one more to challenge Roe vs. Wade.

John McCain may be affable but his choice of Mrs. Palin shows that the right wing conservative extremists call the shots.

well, what are you going to do?

  • Posted By: PaulStewart @ 09/06/2008 7:23:12 PM

I would like to point out that the ultimate arbiter of right and wrong is not the supreme court. They only can make a decision based on a human's interpretation of right and wrong. They often get it wrong because obviously they are not God. And, if you make them not think about the gray areas and not "legislate from the bench" as the right says, then they are only delivering what the laws of the land state. Unfortunately, as Obama says, this whole issue between early and late abortion and in what circumstances is above everyone's pay grade. That is why the courts in Roe vs Wade got it right. in the first place. Or as right as it can be gotten. I mean, it is up to the responsible woman and her God to decide what is right. It is a tough moral decision for every woman. Just as it was Palin's to make for her own child and her daughter's for hers. If they chose to carry, that is fine. It is not for others to make that decision. It is equally not for others when the decision is perhaps different. Having said that, the smarter choice would have been to teach your daughter explicitly what sex is. And to maybe be a little aware of where you daughter is and what she is doing at 16 or 17 years. Especially if there is a boy friend involved. I mean, no education, no protection and no supervision is essentially leaving her daughter and her boyfriend to play with fire. It is all too stupid to contemplate. Why is that not clear. And the poster saying it is her daughter's fault, she knew the consequences and is an adult... Ha ha. You are an idiot. At 16 or 17, you are a teenager, not an adult. I mean, the teens go 'til you get to 20 eh. And I suppose you could know the consequences of pregnancy, but if yoyu are ignorant of how to become pregnant, you might not know when you are doing something wrong. Or if you did know, it might well be too late to stop the process - have you never had sex before? Good grief.

I don't think she was concerned about the welfare of her last baby. Her water broke and she got on a plane from Texas to Alaska. This act alone could have caused an involuntary or voluntary abortion. She kept the pregnancy a secrete for 7 months. I am not sure why the Republicans are in love with this woman who has just been appointed McCain's running mate and has so many facts about her proven to be untrue.

    They can't hide her forever.

  • Posted By: Alivegarden @ 09/06/2008 7:16:00 PM

Fine. Let the right wing make abortion illegal in all instances. But pass this law on the condition that all good Christian conservatives in this country MUST sign a legally-binding contract in which they agree to adopt at LEAST 2 of the unwanted children that will flood the already strained and under-funded foster-care system. I'm sure al these God-fearing, wealthy conservatives will line up at the chance to adopt a crack-baby or two, otherwise, these children would most likey be left to lives of neglect, crime, drug-addiction and a host of other nasty circumstances, since conservativesa are against any welfare funding of any sorts.. So come on, good Christians, start adopting! If you don't, you are hypocrites.
